A gem for candlepin bowlers and even for those merely curious about candlepin bowling! I spent a weekend in Digby, NS while my wife attended an event, and as a 5-pin bowler, I have only once in the past had a chance to try candlepin bowling. I visited Wilson's Bowling Center and was really happy with the results. I met Dewy, who treated me very well. I felt very welcome. He told me that he wishes I lived in the area, because then I could join a local league. If you're at all interested in bowling, then please check Wilson's out and, if you like what you see, then ask about joining a league! Believe me: you don't need to be "good" at the game to enjoy the friendly atmosphere of a bowling league. For the more serious bowler: the 8 lanes are wood and in good condition; there is no automated scoring system to get in the way of enjoying the game; the house balls are in quite good shape; the pinsetters just worked. There are also clean washrooms (well, one of them, anyway) and a snack bar. Call ahead to check for opening hours, especially in the summer, because of the typical problems that small-time bowling centers have. If you need a place to organize a party or work function, then consider Wilson's. You'll have fun!

My visiting grand-daughter and I really enjoyed our free bowling today! I had never been bowling where they had little walls in front of the gutters, so nobody got a gutter ball. The bathroom was clean and the service was friendly! Thank you for offering free bowling to the community, as some families cannot enjoy the little luxuries in life.
