This Bowling Alley belongs to the category of Bowling alley.
This place is great. Have enjoyed each experience here. Service is usually quick and attentive. Machines/I pads have locked up a few times on us but they resolve it quickly and/or add more time to our game.
I rate Maple Hall ☆????☆????☆????☆????☆???? My family threw a surprise party for my brother's 50th birthday. Our personal server, Clay, was very attentive, friendly, always there to get us what we wanted and didn't act annoyed at all. That's impressive when you're dealing with a private party of 20 people. He did amazing! Jessica, the bartender that night was quick with the drinks. Also, she was so sweet when my husband and I came in the day before the party to get a feel of the layout. She showed us the room we booked (the private room with 2 lanes) and went over everything with us. Allison, the lady I booked the party through, was awesome at helping me figure out the best food suggestions regarding how many people were coming. She emailed me back and answered all my questions very quickly. I would recommend Maple Hall to anyone who needs a cool place to have a party, or if you like to bowl or just like to hang out while others bowl. The atmosphere is very trendy, but nostalgic. It's located in the basement of the old JCPenney. The food is really good and they have some tasty drinks on their drink menu. We had a blast that night and will do it again in the future.
Super fun, beautiful place, great time with friends!
Service was great, food was delicious but drinks were watered down.
This is a fun place with reasonably priced beer. Happy hour is a great time to go but just like most bowling places in Knoxville it can get really busy and even after they've been open for awhile it is showing no signs of slowing down. Go early if you intend on getting a lane.
Ordered the Pretzel bites with beer cheese. Could barely taste any beer in the cheese, and the cheese tasted like Velveeta, no cheddar at all. Foodserver was friendly and quick, no complaints about the service at all. Bowling shoes were like-new, bowling balls were in great shape, only complaint is no 12 lb balls available. Lanes were in excellent condition, and the game/player interface screen was simple and easy to use, and the ball return was fast, which is nice when there is only 2 players. *Note- I was with a group that had 4 lanes reserved for an adult's birthday. Overall, a good experience- but the food quality needs to rise to meet the standards of the rest of the establishment- which would make it a 4, possibly 5 star rating.
Had a great time grabbing a few beers and bowling with friends. The place was busy but wait time was under an hour at 10pm on a Saturday - very reasonable. They were also nice enough to extend our lane time a few minutes to let us finish our 2nd game. Good selection of beers and drinks. Did not try any food. I had a good experience overall and will be back.
Staff was friendly but service was very slow, waiting about an hour for a burger and fries. Beer list skews toward IPAs and sours, which are not my thing.
Good beer and great open bowling. Not as cheap as others locally
I came here with a friend after work to enjoy happy hour, not bowl. So I can't speak to the bowling experience, but the food and drink? Oh yeah! I have opinions! Happy hour specials are amazing. $4 for a PBLT, a pimento cheese BLT, very delicious, although a little spicy for my taste. (I'm a wimp.) I had seasonal tomatoes, goat cheese, and a balsamic reduction for a side dish -- just perfect on a warm evening. I chose the Maple Hall Mule for my happy hour libation, and it, too, was wonderful. The atmosphere is lovely, the prices are right, and the food is delicious. I hope to come back here again soon!
Looong wait times should be anticipated, register early, they will text when your alley is ready... grab a bite on Gay Street and enjoy people watching. Actual bowling is great! Great bar and food with servers keeping everything full! Cool atmosphere in the basement alleys!
Long waiting times for lanes. The alcohol selection is great. Employees are helpful and friendly. There is a posted no firearms sign.
Lovely spot for a nice family outing or just a great night out.
Awesome ambiance and food. It was the perfect setting for our outing. We had lots of fun and I can't wait to go again.
It's a revamped, old JC Penny's that's been turned into a bar and bowling alley! My friends and I had a blast!
Great Atmosphere and service. Our lane had some issues and we were given extra time to make up for the waits. A little bit louder since the lanes are more private and boxed in.
By far the fanciest bowling alley I've ever been to. It can be somewhat expensive and the wait can be long but it's worth it. Bring a group of friends to split the cost and grab a craft beer and some food from their excellent menu while you wait.
Great place that has it all. We will go by for an appetizer (Baked Pretzel Bites with Beer Cheese will you turn you into a selfish ravenous person) and some drinks and have also been there for a couple birthday parties. The service whether it is for a group of 30 or just us 2 has always been top notch and never left us wanting. The lanes, balls, and shoes are great quality. Fun place to spend an evening.
Crowded. Long wait for bowling, and on weekends consider yourself lucky if you get to bowl within a couple of hours of waiting. The drink selection is meh at best, but I guess it's more a family entertainment venue than a bar so that's pretty much on point. Tried the nachos, pretzels and fries and all of those were pretty good.
Always a great time... gets busy from time to time but worth the wait and plenty to do around to pass time.
Super nice time. They've got the process down to an art form.
Lovely bowling alley that feels clean and upscale. Great food and drinks
Amazing fun place to eat, drink and bowl! Thursday night trivia is a great event to play and then go bowling. Every staff member was friendly & helpful, ask for Pat in the upstairs lounge if you want friendly helpful service with drink & menu suggestions. We will return every time we are in Knoxville!
Amazing and fun experience!
We had a great time bowling and wonderful service at the bar! The only reason I've got to label this one as a 4 is the upstairs bar offered a variety of drinks that the downstairs didnt. I understand, maybe not enough space, but I did find myself walking back upstairs in between the games. I definitely needed the exercise but I dunno, add a sweet slide so I dont fear falling down the stairs? I'll definitely be back either way!!
Drinks were good, just, like, too hip for a bum like me
Very cool place for a private party/corporate event.
Just wish the bowling lanes weren't so damn busy all the time. Good food and cold beers.
Chill place in the basement with about twelve Lanes and a bar. Lots of sofas to hang. Good times. Upstairs bar is a game room with wall versions of Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit. Lots of board and card games too. Please click 'like' if you like my reviews...
Such a great addition to downtown Knoxville! Be warned - you'll likely have to wait a while on weekends, but it's well worth it. We gave our names, then went to eat and came back to bowl. The drinks were great, and we enjoyed the live music while we bowled. Highly recommend.
The fried pickles are to die for ????
Everything was awesome, definitely a great spot to grab a drink and bowl. but, the person at the door needs a customer service lesson. We almost left.
Maple Hall ups the bowling game. Everything they do is a cut above. We love the atmosphere and the high tech score screens that track the speed of your ball. All the appetizers are wonderful, especially the pretzels. Their service is top notch..
10/10 BEST PLACE THEY SERVE YOU FOOD WHILE YOU BOWL IT'S AMAZING
Great bowling venue! Great lanes, excellent ambiance!
Good atmosphere. Fun place to booze and bowl.
The atmosphere and food are amazing! Great decor and friendly staff. I really enjoyed bowling here.
Great staff and food. They took my favorite thing off the menu but everything else is good enough that I ain't even mad
Impressive place including basement converted to bowling alley & bar/lounge area. Floors above are restored & used for events, conferences, history lessons by Jack Neely, etc.
Classy little bowling alley. Great food and nice bar if you don't really want to bowl. Wait times can be long so get your name on the list early
This place is awesome. It has a more upscale feel to it. The lanes are well kept the place is very clean and they have a full bar and restaurant to hang out at while you wait for your lanes. Love this place. Would recommend it to anyone.
I can't speak to the food, but the drinks, atmosphere, and staff are top notch. This place feels like a John Hughes movie scene in the best way possible.
Just a cool bowling experience, great service and food!
LOVE this place! It’s been fun bowling here the past several weekends. We grab a bite to eat (I recommend the CBR fries) and claim the lane for two hours. We usually have time for 3 games (there’s 4 of us). We ran out of time once and played some of the other bowling games offered. They weren’t too bad.
Such a great time! Great service!
great place- good lanes, good bar menu, good food. Great place for birthdays, reunions, parties, etc.
Nice place, but parking is difficult to find
Pricey to say the least but well worth it. This unique spot offers up a memorable experience. Love the vibe this place gives off.
The bowling alley is lots of fun and feels so classy, the food and drinks are great, but my favorite spot is the upstairs games and hang out room. There’s even a patio for cool evening drinks.
great food and quick service. the bowling is fun and the environment is really unique.
What a concept! I LOVE this place. I want one where I live!!
Great vibe and the bowling was fun. The food was very good and service was friendly. All around outstanding experience!
Awesome; wish they closed later
Good food. Friendly employees. Bowling. ????. Fun atmophere.
I really enjoy Maple Hall. My family came into town and I took them here. It was a blast! Great environment and atmosphere. The staff and management within Maple Hall are wonderful people and go above and beyond for their customers!
Fun place. Great environment and service.
The place was absolutely amazing. Everyone was so accomadating. I brought my three girls there, age 9, 5, and 3, and we all had a blast. Every employee was happy to help us, and even play with the kids. Jaquelynn especially was amazing. Even the people we bowled with on either side were happy to interact with the kids. It was a super laid back atmosphere. If you have any second thoughts about bringing kids, throw them out the window. Thanks for the great time.
Upstairs lounge is a great environment. Good music venue for a sit down/casual show. Laid back.
Had our employee party in their semi private two lanes section, it was so much fun! Will definitely go again.
Food is great I had the steak skewers , and they have really nice lanes for bowling. Good place to go with friends.
This place is huge! 11 lanes of bowling action downstairs and a spacious lounge with a full bar upstairs. The upstairs lounge also plays host to various musical guests and the acoustics are quite nice. I saw Matt Woods and Adam Lee there last night and it was a blast! The service is polite and prompt, the food was good and the show was free. Do yourself a favor and attend a show at a venue that supports independent music. Maybe even bowl a few frames before the show.
What a wonderful place to get some bowling exercise and have great food and drink. This place is amazing and the entire family can have an hour or more of bowling at a reasonable rate. Shoes and bowling balls are available for all sizes.
Not your typical bowling alley! Even has areas for private parties. Great food and drinks!
This place is SO fun. Standard beer selection. I suck at bowling, and therefore hate it, but the ambient and the food make this place worth it. They also have several bowling game types.
Very fun place. Long waits to bowl so put your name in line and go do something else in between.
Super fun! Kinda pricey
Lots of fun; would recommend reservations or call ahead. May times becomes 3 wait. Games are “per hour” so you do rush and a server provides drinks and snacks while you play. Fun bar and food food.
What an awesome and unique place this was. The food was very good. The bowling area was the best.
Good food, great atmosphere and cool bowling alley downstairs. Check it out.
Great place downtown and the place was restored well.
Great atmosphere! Yummy food, drinks, bowling, games!! Chunk of heaven.
A-MAZING!! Best staff in Knoxville!
This place is very quaint. Very popular and gets BUSY fast.. weekends depending on the time you will not be able to bowl.. good thing there is a bar. Haha.. I like it alot. Will certainly be back.
Great atmosphere, food, drinks, and of course bowling. :)
Loved the atmosphere. Employees super helpful with anything you asked of them. Very respectable establishment.
This alley is beautiful. A stunning renovation of a historic Gay St. basement with amazing food and drinks and a great staff. Always gotten great service and several friends work here. While the lanes were a bit dry in the beginning, they fixed the oil issue. Now, speaking as a bowler, it’s a much more enjoyable bowling experience! Thanks Maple Hall!
Phenomenal service, amazing space, clever cocktails. Most fun I've ever had bowling! Oh, and whoever picks the playlist has superb taste in music.
We had a great time.
This is an amazing hidden gem in downtown. While officially a bowling alley, the upstairs lounge and bars allow for a sweet hangout spot! The renovated building holds some of the original design aspects of the original jcpenney building. Must see stop!
Amazing place, great staff, and the atmosphere is chill.
We had a corporate event here for Christmas. The catering wasn't very organized, and the lanes for bowling were extremely dark. We had a good time, but it really wasn't ideal for a large group.
Rustic restoration of an historic downtown Knoxville building. Fun place to bowl and have a good time.
Great fun! Such an amazing place to bowl, hangout, and eat.
Food was amazing! Great appetizers amazing atmosphere. Places like this make Knoxville great. Bowling downstairs looked like lots of fun but we were not able to get a lane because we arrived at a very busy time. Still really enjoyed the place.
One of the coolest places I've been to date in the old City! Can't wait to revisit! Lanes we're beautiful along with the building itself! Those huge oak post were breath-taking!
Absolutely love Maple Hall. Great food. Great service. My favorite place
If you're looking to have a great time with friends and family who enjoy bowling Maple Hall is the place. The environment is comfortable, modern and the old architecture will make you want to stay there all day. Very relaxing and family friendly. Also, great for a date night because the menu is way better than traditional bowling ally food/beer (though I wish they had vegan options...the waitress said they fry everything in the same fryer so even the fries aren't safe for vegans). I have a picture of the fries because we took our family (some non-veg) here. We all had a great time and the staff were very attentive.
This place absolutely sucks!! I was told at the beginning of the weekend (I called on Monday) that if I wanted to make a reservation I could come in right when they open on the day of the reservation. I came in at 4pm right on the dot and they “put me on the list” for 8pm. I was told that they would text me when the lane opened. I never received a text. When I showed up at 7:55, they told me it would be over an hour till they could give us a lane! They completely ruined my birthday and will NOT be returning to this place!!
Had a really great time. Service was good, balls aplenty. Highly recommend.
Very poor quality bowling lanes. Waitress told me they purposely make the shoes so they don't slide during your roll. You try to slide and screech to a halt! Very frustrating. Food was good. Average gay street priced drinks
A hidden gem. We go here for great drinks and food a lot. Great value.
Very expensive place but fun bowling if you can splurge. drinks beer everything is way more than you should probably pay but if it's a special occasion and you've got lots of friends it's a blast. however my biggest kudos to this place goes to the server and the manager who called us to return the $10 that we have lost it turned up in the bathroom and they actually gave it back to us! any place that's going to go above and beyond to do something like that it's a place you should visit. Now if I can just save up enough money to bring my family back there and say thank you in person LOL
We hosted a large event here and had a great time. The service was great and the lanes were all fun and clean. Highly recommended!
All the appetizers are a really great deal. One appetizer is enough to fill two people. The bowling is fun, the atmosphere is great, and the lounge upstairs was one of our favorite hang out spots. Usually a great spot to start off a night - extremely close to a parking garage - before venturing off to other venues on Gay street or in the old city.
Maple Hall is a great place to hang out with friends. It was really comfortable and clean. The staff was attentive but not overly so. The drinks and menu were unique and tasty but affordable. Overall, a great place to spend a night out.
Had a great time is this wonderful establishment. Really nice on the inside not alot of craziness like a regular bowling alley.
Small but great place for bowling! Our group of 9 was easily accomodated on a wednesday night; the staff was very friendly and accomodating!
The bowling and the venue was very cool but the bartending staff, one lady in particular, ruined the experience.
Fantastic hole in the wall bowling alley! They have a bar area and waiters that move between the seated area and bowling lanes. They also offer a variety of novelty bowling games for all level players.
Good bowling, food, & drinks!
Great atmosphere and game options while bowling if you want to try something different from the traditional way. We like playing HORSE the best while bowling. The cocktail and food menu has great options for sharing with a group and the bar upstairs has a variety of games to play.
Awesome atmosphere. Great location.
2 hour wait on a Saturday then the bowling lanes went dark at 12:40am. If you are open until 1:30, keep the place open. Absolutely felt pushed out after a long wait. After this experience I’d recommend the other bowling options in town.
Super fun bowling alley with very good food and drink!
Lots of fun! Rented out for a wedding shower. Food needs to be stepped up!
Fun time, great food and awesome staff.
I’ve enjoyed the bowling alley. The staff were great, drinks were awesome. The facility is overall clean and relaxing.
Maple Hall has an amazing bowling alley down stairs with a full bar. The Bowling Alley is really fun and its not over crowed on the weekends. Maple Hall has two bowling alleys and each side for families and friends. Most of all they have the best chefs, working in the Maple Hall Kitchen. My son had the made from scratch hand breaded chicken tenders with hand cut French fries with signature maple mustard
Great food, drinks, bowling, music! Its also located underground with a fun atmosphere. Also a private room wiith two lanes and TVs.
Great upstairs bar area
Awesome bowling alley. Friendly staff and great food and drinks. Great prices on the weekends as well.
I love this place and have been a regular for some time. I was having a great time enjoying conversation with the very sweet bartender. I had taken my mask off to finish my beer and yes I should have put it back on between drinks? I respect that but the night manager (longer hair with glasses) was completely unacceptable with his approach. Very nervous with a direct approach that was so unprofessional. Could barely understand him he was so nervous and rude. Not what I’m used to with this establishment. A simple please sir can you put your mask on would suffice. This individual needs to be evaluated before other customers are ran off in a negative way in the future.
Great staff. Great food. Great drinks! A++
Bowling and alcohol make a great combination, especially with the clean, relaxing atmosphere and great staff!
Fun place to hang out. Elevated cocktail and snack menu, feels much classier than a typical bowling experience. Love the cozy, rustic space.
I realize that we are in the middle of a pandemic and we have social distancing guidelines in place - however. We called early in the week to make a reservation for 8 people. We were told that reservations weren’t allowed it was first come first serve. We show up with our party and and we are split between two lanes four lanes apart!! What is the point of showing up if we can’t all sit together in the party we came with? This defeats the entire purpose of going bowling with a group. They told us they could accommodate our request for a “party” stating at 250. Do not recommend.????
So much fun. Loved the atmosphere and how you can drink and bowl and just have a good time. It was great to have an adult atmosphere. To be honest, was a little pricey but it was totally worth it!
Usually really love this place, Bowles a couple of times and it pretty fun, and the food is solid, especially the stacks, but lately the bartenders have been very hit or miss, mostly miss. Last three times we have gone for a quick after work drink, it’s almost all ice, very little drink, could probably finish it in 3 big sips. It’s not the biggest deal in the world if it happens once, but it’s sorta becoming a trend and makes it hard to wanna spend money on them.
What a great place to spend the evening! The place is beautiful, just like old Knoxville. Their bowling areas are super comfortable and scoring machines user friendly. All the staff is friendly/helpful, with the wait staff being top notch! Thanks to all of you! You must try their nachos made with potato chips!
Ambiance, food, drinks, service all good.
Great food Great atmosphere, and superb service
Classy social meeting place and great food.
Great place for a drink but good luck ever getting to bowl. Every time I go there it's all booked up past midnight. Bummer.
We traveled all the way from indiana to bowl here. The staff was fantastic. We will be back. Well worth the trip.
From the second you grace the massive front door and walk down a flight of stairs, Maple Hall just feels warm. The bar and open seating area is situated between the bowling lanes and a stone wall with cozy 2 table seating vignettes. Food is fabulous, drink names are inspired by Knoxville history and the staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home. Love this place. They've added a parlor with games and decor most of us baby boomers can relate to. Now referred to as 'vintage' . . . a stereo console. Love it. We've stopped in several times for a bowl, drink and eat. Be a great place for a date or company party.
Experience is great, but its a lot louder than youd expect. Prices are a bit high on drinks.
We had so much fun bowling. The food is great as well
Great atmosphere and even better food!!!!
Maple Hall is just plain cool. It is family friendly (bring the kids!!) But also super suave to come on a date. Guys, want to impress your crush with all the cool strikes and spares in a rugged brick underground bowling hall, rocking some retro CLEAN and cool bowling shoes PLUS the price is per hour and not per person so you got some change for some yummy snacks and refreshing drinks? This is the place for you. The seating is perfect for a date and comfortable. So yeah... Definitely returning.
Very Cool bowling alley under Gay Street in Knoxville. Excellent Vibe, lots of free space to move or sit if waiting on lanes to open. Sometimes it can be quite a close fit around the actual lanes when bowling, but lots of other couch areas to just drink and chill if you don't want to bowl.
Such a fun place!! Great food, fantastic drinks, and decent prices.
Perfect atmosphere for everyone.
The best atmosphere I've been in. I love bowling and a good drink. This was unique in that the bowling was second to the drink and food. Great combination of multiple elements for a good time.
The best blowing ally I have ever been to.
One of the best spots in town!! A must go to visitors and locals! Full bar available with kind servers and bar tenders. Beautiful bowling lanes and a drop dead gorgeous atmosphere. Support this business!!
Hands down best bowling alley I've been to along with best bowling alley food options. 4 stars because I wasn't too satisfied with the service. Employees seemed annoyed that we were even there when it wasn't even busy. When it came time to check out check was wrong twice! However, overall experience I'll still be back
I actually don't enjoy bowling but this place makes it so much fun! Great time with family or friends (it is kid friendly). I like the fact that they have full bar service and food options delivered to your cozy couch seating at your bowling lanes. We had a great time!!
Fun place with good food and drinks. Lanes are in pretty good shape and sometimes there is live music. Socks available to use (because someone always forgets) and there is a good selection of house balls. Go for a drink or bite or fun bowling outing!
Great place for bowling and drinks with friends.
Maple Hall is a small but quaint bowling alley. They have some good beers on draft or iin cans/bottles. The food is really good. Not too hungry, no problem, the pretzel bites and cheese go great with a draft. I've been here several times and the staff are always helpful and friendly. If only they could help me improve my game!
A fun, clean bowling alley with a full bar and excellent food.
Great drinks and food. Unique bowling bowling setup
This place can have very long waits for lanes but is SO fun! Really unique and tasty food and drink options. I was really impressed!
Oh my gosh. I wish I lived in Knoxville so I could go here more often! Went to bowl with my boyfriends family while we were in town visiting. The alley - new, clean, super cool atmosphere. TVs that scroll fun facts and good music on. The food was SO good, we a bunch of stuff. Pretzels, stuffed mushrooms, chips & salsa, etc everything was great! Also awesome selection at the bar. Service was attentive. Only downfall is if it's crowded, they have these cool couches but we were stuck next to a big group that made it a little uncomfortable... all in all though, this place is too cool!
Attractive bowling alley with tasty food and drink, including an interesting mixed drink menu and a wide assortment of beer. Outstanding staff - very friendly and helpful. Clean, comfortable venue includes such touches as a chandelier made from an old ventilation fan squirrel cage that was used at this location a long time ago. Kid friendly.
Wonderful wonderful wonderful. I love Maple Hall. It’s a cool fun place to hang out with friends.
If your looking for a good time.....this is the place. If your looking for serious bowling and great lanes....not so much. Beautiful setting, great bar, excellent service. Lanes just are not what a 170 or higher average bowler wants to throw stones down. Id go back with friends for sure.
The best bowling alley you will ever go to. It doesn't look like it was leftover from the 80's. They charge by the hour, not by the game, and that works out better than you would initially think. They also have a great bar and great food.
Great time! Social distancing is on-point! ????
Great nostalgic atmosphere! All the equipment and interior of the establishment was clean and organized. We had a great time.
Every time I come the service is excellent and the food is really good. The bartenders do a great job and they always have a pretty decent beer selection. This is always an easy suggestion for a place to go with friends.
Super cute and fun! Great atmosphere, food, drinks, and service. Hidden gem ????
Nice atmosphere and decent food, but over three games the pinsetter completely failed once and the ball return clogged up. Also had about 6 "free" pins that the pinsetter knocked over for me.
Awesome place for a small or large get-together. The drink selection is awesome and there is decent seating available. There's a great atmosphere and the staff are friendly and helpful. Everything is well maintained and it is very clean.
Great feel, fun games, just a fantastic place!
Clean facility, friendly staff, good food. Will definitely go back!
Good deals for big groups. Definitely try it out if downtown. Also very easy to walk to from various garages.
We had our "Christmas party" in January for our office and had 5 lanes reserved as well as catering for 40 people. This place was awesome!!! Took drinks from all people in our party using a tab and our drink tickets system with no problems, set up our delicious food they made in house quickly and on time, and checked in with us frequently! My whole group couldn't say enough good things about the whole event and even want to go back next January, so I couldn't have been more thrilled!!! Thanks to Maple Hall for an awesome, memorable party!!!!
Really cool place, nice atmosphere enjoyed it and friendly staff
Great place and so much, fun. Drinks were great and food delicious. The place has the old time lure of a speak easy as the bowling and the bar are in the basement.
How cool it this place! Huge inside, great food! Super happy hour and friendly staff. I would take my family here! Live music tonight!
So much fun, i really enjoyed my aunts bday with yall. Delicious food and good drinks
What a great upstairs lounge! Wish I had been able to do some bowling. Maybe next time.
Really great drinks at the upstairs bar. Bill Withers, Leon Bridges, Al Green on the sound system... cool vibe.
Such an awesome experience here. Super fun atmosphere and amazing structure. Service was awesome, too. Great appetizers and the drinks were wide ranged.
A new and hip place to bowl. Would prefer that over old school bowling alleys on any day.
I will NEVER go back to this place again! The staff were very disrespectful and rude. My family and I came in with my fathers emotional support animal (he is a veteran) and we let them know, which they said was okay. Afterwards, we scheduled a reservation and they said they would call us when it was our time. I decided to give them a call because it was getting late and we were waiting outside. They said they canceled our reservation because of the dog, however, we were NEVER informed about taking our dog out, which we took him out anyway, AND they didn’t tell us they were going to cancel our reservation. The staff and the manager were VERY unprofessional and unreasonable. They should have at least called us to let us know that they canceled our reservation. We were outside waiting in the rain, if they would have told us to take him out (directly) then we would have completely understood!
Maple Hall is a bright, clean, underground bowling alley and lounge with delicious, upscale "bar" food, crafted cocktails, and a great beer selection, all making great use of local products. I love The Dude, their take on a White Russian using Knox Whiskey Works coffee liquor and Cruz Farms milk. Try the hot chicken, it's delicious and HOT! It's fun for all ages before 9pm (21 and up after 9), and even a great place to sit at the bar or in one of the lounge areas with comfy sofas and chairs and just people watch! It's a wonderful asset for downtown!
My friends and I had a great time here! Bowling with comfort and service! I'd recommend it for anyone who enjoys going out and knocking down some pins or a few drinks. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. I'll be visiting again.
Best boutique hipster basement retro bowling lanes with excellent cocktails and food. Chicken tenders are simply amazing! We need more of these places to open up out west KNOXVILLE!
Great atmosphere, decent food. Pumpkin hummus is pretty bland but the nachos were good. Enjoyed the mixed drinks. Great date night or group outing
Ran across this place by accident on a trip to Knoxville. Everything is new, the whole place smells of fresh cut wood and lacquer. Probably the most beautiful bowling alley I've ever seen. Went back the next night and bowled for two hours and had some of their amazing fries. Each lane gets their own waiter/waitress. Wonderful experiences both nights.
BEER CHEESE AND PRETZELS (you won’t be disappointed) amazing vibe and amazing food, I love coming here, for a fun night out!
Great vintage, rustic venue for food, drinks, and bowling. I wouldn't recommend this for any kind of quiet or strictly dinner setting because of the ambient noise even though there are some tables. Not to say you can't get a table and eat there or get a quick snack. The food is really good there. Nice, varied beer selection (about 6 on draft and a dozen or so bottles/cans). Cocktails are unique or main drinks with their own twist. It is one of the nicest bowling alleys I've ever seen. No smoking which is always a plus. There is also a private room for parties/events. I'd say it can hold about 24 people and has a couple lanes.
Fun atmosphere, great friendly staff. The clean power salad with chicken that I had was very good. The Moscow mule (no ice) was good, not to boozey not too weak. The bowling is a little pricey, but it is a fun, safe clean place. The little lounge areas are comfortable. I wish the bowling prices were a little lower, but all in all it was a good time.
A must do in Knoxville! The atmosphere is unlike anything else you will find in downtown.
Went on a rainy Saturday. Ate a burger, bowled, and had a great time.
Our favorite place in town to bowl. A very unique atmosphere!
Great food and service. Pleasant experience
In my opinion it was fun but small and it was hard to find a ball to bowl with and when I found it it was terrible but overall it was a pretty ok place I would recommend going if you have your own ball or you can put up with the not really good balls.
Love this place and Ryan the manager is such a awesome guy!
Cool place to go. Nice bar with free vowling lanes. Var food was tasty! Had a real good time
Hands down the best bowling alley I have ever been too! Great staff, great booze, and overall a great time. The staffs hospitality alone would have convinced me to come back. All equipment works great and if it does not, the staff is quick to accommodate the mishap. We will continue to return and talk this alley up. Best of all the prices are beyond reasonable!!!!!
Good food, great beer and bowling. Reserve the private lanes with friends and you will have a wonderful evening
Cool place, not handicap accessible. Descent food, upstairs, great staff.
Great staff.. Good drink and food options. Sectioned layout for bowling... I was in a large group... But no more than 6 per lane for bowling. All their system can handle per lane. Would be happy to go back and bowl again.
Fun and cool place. Great ambiance and friendly service.
If you have any intention of bowling, go to an actual bowling alley. I have been here 3 times and have never set foot on the lanes due to several hour wait times. If this was just a bar I'd give it a 4/5 because the food and atmosphere are actually very nice, but it's a bowling alley where you have almost no chance of bowling so 2 stars seems appropriate.
Great location and excellent service
Bowled and drank. Lot's of fun.
Great cocktails, great outdoor seating atmosphere (when weather is not too hot). Great meeting place for a group of friends. I enjoy this place everytime I go. It can be slow service when it's crowded, but most places are slower when crowded. I will ne back.......many times.
Great atmosphere, good food and drink, great service. Lots of fun. Highly recommended.
If you want a good taste of Knoxville, this is where to get it. The entire place has an old-town, modern, laid back feel to it! My wife and I had a blast and the staff was full of the nicest people on the block! The food was delicious, the servers were quick on their feet and make you feel like the only people in the building. They made sure we were all safe with COVID-19 regulations but in a way that also made us feel like things were before the virus. We will be back and with some friends this time ❤️
Clean venue with helpful and friendly staff. Great COVID protocols that enable their guests to relax.
Second time to maple hall. Great place to watch people make out while you enjoy your drink at the bar while the bartender dances around and gives no suggestions on drinks and then tells you she came up with the drinks on the menu. Very disappointed with the atmosphere was wanting to book this place for a wedding. Think we will go elsewhere.
A fun atmosphere...good drinks...
Great place, great staff and great food. Perfect balance of fun and ability to talk and hang with friends. Will now be a regular.
Great bowling and with service at the lane.
Great service, love how your tab follows you to different sections! Food is very good!!
Lots of fun, reccomend a visit.
Super chill and fun place.
Best damn bowling alley I've been to in all my life! It's a little expensive though, but it's totally worth it.
Above average service, Friendly, most Fun on Gay Street
So. Much. Fun!!!!
Totally unexpectedly awesome, stylin'-out, superbad. So glad I checked it out.
I enjoy this place. However, I've recently emailed and followed up with a call about booking an event there, and ABSOLUTELY ZERO RESPONSE. None. Terrible way to do business, considering I've now booked at a competitor at a higher rate. Great for walking in and waiting to bowl, but obviously do not try to plan an event.
We will never go back. Such a beautiful place, to bad the staff are ugly. We had family in town tonight and we wanted try the place out for the first time. I called ahead and inquired about rates and availability, i felt as though i was a bother by the female that answered. But still wanted to check out the place. We showed up about 20 minutes later, paid for parking, walked to the bowling alley and went downstairs to the shoe counter. We said hi to the girl standing there and she says “there's a three and a half hour wait" not: hello, welcome, how may i help you? Nothing. Such a disappointment.
Great chill bowling alley. They've got a great upstairs bar away from the bowling
First trip to Maple Hall and first time bowling in ages. Went with a group and was in the 4 lane group area. It was a great setup, the staff were friendly and helpful. The buffet we ordered was good. Loved it. A fun evening!
Our lane was messed up the first 20 minutes of our 2 hours. The manager came over and took care of it. They fixed our lane and gave us extra time. The food came out quickly. The philly stack fries were exceptional. Overall very pleased. We will be back in the future.
My wife rented the private lanes for my 40th birthday party. The place is nice but the service is horrible and if you plan on having fun drinking and bowling this is not the place for you to go. We had a 18yr old server who tried to cut me off after 3 drinks and was cutting other people off at the party at 11pm at night. She made the whole night miserable to where we all finally had to move the party to another bar. When the server is not old enough to drink but has the nerve to cut off people 30 and up is crazy and made this place a terrible idea for a party. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT BOOKING THIS PLACE FOR A PRIVATE PARTY ESPECIALLY IF YOUR GONNA DRINK!!! I'd give this place zero stars if I could.
Wes and Martin are the biznass
Atmosphere was chill. We had a great time and the service and food were really good!
A bowling alley in downtown Knoxville. Who'd a thunk it?
Good food and bowling all in the same place.
Love this place. Great vibe.
The up stairs private party we had there was really great. Warm friendly staff, excellent service. The food was good and the Meed was even better!
Great place to go friendly staff good prices.
It was a great place to have a drink and they actually had good beer on tap. We will definitely return to bowl. The atmosphere is very lively.
Best bowling ive ever done
The best bowling shoes in town :) Great lanes and atmosphere, and food!
Called ahead to get things set up just to show up and not be told it was a 3 hour wait when we got there next time maybe say something on the phone
Cool place. ???? nice atmosphere.
bowling by the hour. Brought the shoes to our lane. Very attentive servers, good food, good beer, comfy couches.
I've been here as a walk in and with the reserved lanes. Every time, the service and drinks are fantastic. The staff is very friendly. If you go on a weekend though, be prepared to wait several hours for a lane if you're there after 8. It's pretty popular
It is a fantastic lounge.
Awesome place, can't wait to go back
Great atmosphere and a great time!
Had a great time ...shoe game too ent.askews
Don’t go here unless you want your ACTUAL shoes stolen. Rude management. Check your ID 4-5 times every time you want to get a drink... when I was about to leave barefoot they offered me bowling shoes. I said I was size 11 1/2, and the manager said he can’t let me leave with the bowling shoes I just had on. Instead he gave me size 13 shoes that are way too big because I guess it would be more monetarily beneficial for them. Lane constantly turned off as well.
I went to Maple Hall for the first time last night and I just gotta say I will never bowl anywhere else in Knoxville. The atmosphere in this place is so relaxing but very hip at the same time. The staff is very genuine and helpful. The food and drinks were fantastic. I dont know why I waited so long to check this place out but its so worth it! Ryan, you know how to run a business, man! This place is awesome!
A fun place to hangout even if you aren't bowling. Hidden away under the streets of downtown, this place has a clean comfortable atmosphere and a great spin on bar food.
Very Nice and Clean Place. FAMILY and Couples can enjoy this place...
The place is very clean and modern concept in a downtown setting. Great food for lite eats or a full meal. Wait time to bowl was frustrating but we had some time so wasn't a major deal but that could be a problem for some. Lots of TVs to watch all the football games.
Really fun place to bowl! The food is very good, but not a ton of options, and good beer on tap. Will be going back!
We went on a Monday evening to see Will Carter. Enjoyed the music and the atmosphere. We were plesently surprised by the food! The service was excellent as well.
I rented some lanes for my boyfriend's birthday. We had so much fun, and the staff was friendly and attentive.
Service is great. Food, beer and bowling in an awesome building and area.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Awesome service. Cool place...check it out
I’ve been to Maple Hall plenty of times before and have always loved it. The service is excellent!! Last night our lane shut down for a few minutes and the hostess, Morgan, switched us to a different lane immediately and added another 30 minutes to our time just for the inconvenience. Thank you Morgan! You were great. Food, drinks, atmosphere, service are all top notch.
Great service, great facility, fantastic fun.
This place was great. There's typically a wait on Friday and Saturday nights, but you put your name on a list and easily walk around downtown, grab something to eat, or do some shopping while you wait. A lot of fun.
Pretty cool place. More fun if you have a few friends with you.
"Jack" was awesome. She's a great bartender with a great personality. You are lucky to have her.
Beautiful bowling alley and fun experience but man is it pricey. My girlfriend and I were there for 1 hour, I had 2 IPAs (approx $3 per where I come from) and she had a double makers and the bill was $73. Pretty overpriced if you ask me. They make $35/hr per lane Friday and Saturday and $25/at per lane all other days on top of $3.50 shoe rental (which is the only thing reasonably priced here, I guess for the bowling wasn't terrible but lanes could be better.) I think they could afford to lower the drink prices.
It was an amazing experience. Food was GREAT, the environment downstairs was very comfortable. The only problem I have with it, was the girl upstairs. She was sort of a buzz kill. I get it, if you don’t want to work, CALL IN. Overall, our company had an excellent time last night.
Had husbands 60 bday, great place
Fun place... enjoyed the high quality pub food and bowling...Excellent place to entertain family and enjoy an adult beverage...staff was very friendly and accommodating...will visit again thank you
A little smaller than the average place. Great lanes and staff.
Lanes are very good. Bar has excellent selection. Music and service ok. Great location, lots of fun.
A comfortable, fun place to go bowling. Great drinks, great games, great fun!
First time eating here. Prices aren't very high considering the location (right on Gay Street), but the dining area is right next to the lanes, so it's very loud and the service is not great. Actually most of the servers had a bad attitude and acted like they weren't at work at all. The portabella burger was good! The maple mustard that came with the portabella fries needed more of both flavors.
Cool place to bowl plus live music from time to time. Hard to beat. Good cocktails.
Awesome place! Super friendly and attentive bartenders, and management is amazing. Had a wonderful time tonight.
This was an enjoyable way to celebrate our daughter in laws birthday! We did have to wait a little while for our lanes but there was comfortable seating for the wait. They have a full liquor bar and a variety of food items. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating. Parking was right down the street and free on saturday!
Very cool. Hipster joint. Clean and nice.
Loved the food. Pretzels were amazing. Service awesome. Burned mouth trying to down chili while being asked to hurry cause we were in the way. Lanes broke down & were moved. Group parties are more important than a stay home mom's 40th birthday (1st time downtown this year). Their events coordinator is well on task. At least the didn't forget us like Smoky mountain brewery next door or barley's do. Sucks having a sec bday
I love the bar upstairs! They make a scrumptious White Russian. Knox whiskey works coffee liquor truly makes it. The Cruze farm milk helps it tremendously as well. The place is very clean and well decorated also, particularly the restrooms. The back patio is the nicest on gay street too.
Great atmosphere for hanging out with friends or a date.
Loved the rustic modern look, good food and service. only wish they had better house bowling balls, but i will still come back to it again.
