This is one heck of a private club!! It has a bowling alley, squash courts, indoor swimming pool, outdoor swimming pool, ice rink, fine dining, pub dining, tennis courts... the food was exceptional and too. If you’re a member of this club I can see why! Very glad that the Union Club of British Columbia is a reciprocal member here- had a fantastic time entertaining Calgary locals here. Great work Glencoe!

Staff, food, venue, all lovely. I was in a wedding party here and everything was taken care of perfectly, especially when we ran into problems the staff took care of everything and the bride didn't have to worry at all. It was a great day. Peggy was also the best during our reception! Definitely hire Peggy for your event!

I have been a member since 1958 and I currently sit on the Board, so I am biased. I can't give five stars because nothing is perfect, and there's always room for improvement. The Glencoe currently has an approximate seven year waiting list for membership and, along with the Calgary Winter Club, is one of the two more desirable private sports facilities in the Calgary region. The Glencoe was established in 1931. It underwent a complete renovation in 1963 following a devastating fire the previous year. The Club continued to thrive through the 1960s, 70s, 80s and 90s with continuing improvements and renovations. The Glencoe is currently undergoing a $22 million Dollar CDN renovation and expansion project which is expected to be completed by April, 2016. This will add approximately 52 additional parking stalls to the existing facility and provide an almost doubling of the fitness area space. A new doubles squash court was opened in September, 2015 along with a completely renovated singles court, bringing the total number of singles courts to six. The Glencoe will host the Canadian doubles squash championship in the spring of 2016. Other sports at the Glencoe Club include swimming, badminton, ice skating, tennis, bowling, curling and bridge. The Glencoe Club has a wholly-owned affiliate, the Glencoe Golf and Country Club, located west of Calgary on Highway 8 (Glenmore Trail SW). This club was established in 1984 and features 45 holes, a clubhouse and a full driving range with practice and teaching facilities.

Visited for a figure skating examination on a Friday night. Firstly, thank-you Glencoe for donating the ice to the community kids due to the original cancellation! Club is super 'chic' & clean. Serving staff were very helpful in the cafeteria. Prices - excessive. I understand 'overhead', 'operating costs' & 'profit'....but $15 for a large glass of wine? I suppose it's to be expected at a private club...and if I don't like the price, don't order the product. Fair enough...addressed and sorted :). Expensive.

I was here for work, and it had been years since my last visit. I was in the outdoor pool area cleaning cushions and wow! They changed it a lot! The staff were incredibly nice and laid back, any setbacks we had, they were fine with. From what I remember, staff inside the building in the cafeteria, for example, were so sweet. They always made sure we were having fun and we were well fed. Great environment to be in, especially as a kid so many years ago. I'd assume since it's still so popular, that the service hasn't changed one bit since then. They hire the best of the best!

Beautiful facility, so much to see! Went as a guest to physio area due to a dual Achilles issue. Judy, the physiotherapist, was super nice, knowledgeable and very professional. I appreciated her honesty when she realized my situation couldn't be addressed through physio and she suggested I go to my medical doc. We ended up having a great lunch (build your own sandwich - love the idea!) and a glass of wine. Again, the staff was super nice, personal and professional. I would have given a 5-star rating except that the physio area was a horribly long way to go from the entrance, even with the elevator. For someone experiencing pain and difficulty walking, this just seemed to be bad planning in a building this large, recently renovated, and so well appointed.

Very nice, high end country club situation in central Calgary. The 10 lane bowling alley was empty, so our party got the entire place to ourselves. After a few games of 10 pin and 5 pin, we took our pitcher of beer to the sports bar downstairs. They had pool tables and sports, in an upscale environment. Finally, we checked out the curling sheets. The staff was very friendly. We didn't have to wait for service. I can't wait to go back.

Great facility but they can't accommodate the members they already have, and certainly not new members. Don't add your family to the wait list, we did and I regret it. Its been 10+ years and we still can't exercise at the fitness club we are fully paid members of?? The kids are second tier members and we can never get into classes.

My family has been respected members for generations. I absolutely love the amenities and I appreciate what Glencoe has afforded the Calgary community. However, certain aspects of the club seem to be going downhill. For instance, the other day I was playing tennis and I noticed a lady wearing socks with green stripes on them. And even more startling was that the staff did not seem to care at all. If the club doesn't hold everyone to the same standards, we'll be right back in the dark ages, and nobody wants that, do we??

Private club that requires paid membership to get into premise. Was there for lunch as a guest for lunch. Food was decent but a bit on the salty side. There are other facilities like curling rink, bowling alley, fitness center, etc. Overall the place is looks modern.

I have been a member all my life and there are definitely some nice things about the club, but unfortunately the current board and management seems bent on chronic renovations and overcharging for virtually all services. Worse yet, each renovation seems to be more tasteless than the last and creates gross inconvenience for the members. I understand that the next "improvement" we have to look forward to is the overhaul cafeteria for another shocking price tag.
