This Bowling Alley is classified in the category of Bowling alley.
Classic old school feel bowling alley. Cans of beer and food can be bought.
Pretty standard bowling alley, it does what it does well
Great place to have a family bowling night!
Rude and unwelcoming staff
The staff are half-baked teenagers. But they are nice... It's not the cleanest place, but bowling is always fun and it has that hipster-grunge to it. At the same time, there an energy making you feel like you're in the Big Lebowski movie. Just be patient, and have low service expectations. Fun to bowl.
Great place to bowl. Try to beat local champ, Frank Lavigne's, record!
Dirty, defective lanes and bad food. Still fun to hang out with frinds
Good food options. Could do with a tech update. Pins don't always reset properly.
The guy in the food area was really nice, also one of the guys in the entrance counter, Just one blonde guy was kind of rude. Nice place
Josh at Grandview lanes was super Accommodating!! Two of our lanes were malfunctioning and he went out of his way to fix our lanes mechanically and when they stopped working, moved us. These guys deserve way more $$ for the sweat and hard work they do for us to have fun. Covid protocols were well in place checking for vaccine passports and lane separations. We will be back, as usual
Let's do some bowling
We had the worse experience with customer service .the bowling pins and everything was terrible and dirty . First We thought it gonna be the old school cool little place with nice service for hanging out . It is not at all .
A neighbourhood staple ! My spouse and I frequently bowl here and love the history of Grandview Lanes (especially when the rest of the city is rapidly losing its character and becoming a homogeneous glut of bland, unimaginative, and barely livable condos with Tim Hortons and Chatime in the bottom: snore). The staff are great and reflect the character of the neighbourhood and locals. I love this place. I also love bowling - so I'll be coming here until I'm dead or am forced to move. Or am rendered unable to bowl...
Great for an evening with friends
Always love going there with family and friends❤️
Excellent for kids parties
Staff doing their best to keep the shoes smelling good and drinks flowing
Overall, it is a nice place to have fun and play bowling. The staff are friendly too. But, the building is old and the bowling alley.
Great place to go to with your family but the game is very fast.
The most fun anyone has ever had. Also jerkface 3000
My favorite bowling alley in the lower mainland. 3 games for $20, with shoe rental, is a solid price. I usually only play 5-pin glow bowling. The looks and atmosphere upstairs on the weekends is always great. 10-pin also available. Beer prices are not bad, and did food is good
This is a classic bowling alley- you can play either 10 or 5 pin games. The upper floor is more hip with ultraviolet lights. The menu is not very diverse but offers some options for vegetarians as well. You should call to reserve even during the week. Service was rather slow but hey? Did you come to chat and munc or did you come to strike?
So much fun and family friendly!
Great place for a birthday party ????????????????
went here for a work party. blacked out and woke up at home the next day... so i'll say it was a pretty good time.
It's best to book on advance, especially if you are going on the weekend or on the evening, or you might be waiting for a while. Disco / black light bowling is amazing. Mind blowing. Impossible to our into me words. Reasonable prices and reasonable beer selection
Bowling: the best team building activity for your whole office.
We had fun on Friday here. The place looks like Very old. Nice people at the desk and prices are good.
first time i played 5 pin bowling, didn't even know it was a thing, was really fun!
Great time for a birthday party
Got there without a reservation and were told we'd have to come back in two hours to play. Luckily, a kind fella had reserved three lanes and one was free which he gave to our little group. Will pay that forward in the future.
Great little social hub. Occasional celebrity spotting.
A staple of the community where you can have a fun time bowling. Not the fanciest or newest facilities, but the bathrooms were clean and the kids had a great time. The black lights upstairs are fun.
Its a fun place though the equipment seems real old.
Great great great! If you love bowling this place is perfect!
Fun times bowling, reasonable price for a Friday night. Beer also available, and cosmic (glow-in-the-dark) bowling upstairs. They have 5-pin and 10-pin here
Lot of fun, but was very crowded!
Good for bowling, not much for anything else
Nice and clean!
friendly staff, lazar bowling upstairs, my child loves it here, very relaxed atmosphere
I have bowled at Grandview Lanes half a dozen times. I even held a surprise birthday party there! It is not wheelchair accessible. They are located on the west side of Commercial Drive.
great 5pin! very cool lanes, lovely staff nice canned bevvy selection but no beer pitchers
Very fun place to bowl.
Awesome place to have fun with friends.
Mostly 5-pin lanes up & downstairs. 2 10-pin lanes downstairs. Glow bowl upstairs. Fun!
Not the fanciest of bowling alleys but does the trick
Not the fanciest of bowling alleys but does the trick
Not pretty, gets the job done for some bowling though
Not much parking, clean facilities, decent food, reasonably priced.
Always fun and the staff is great.
Always fun times. Food is not great. Decent beer selection. 5pin, 10pin and blacklight.
We had to wait for almost 30 mins past our reservation time.
Kevin was an amazing bartender, server, lane technician, pizza cook and DJ! Thank you for a great night with friends! We didn't realize we could still have fun with covid going on!
It's great but the pins are on strings so you don't get the optimal pin action
We were a group of 5, who were here on a Sunday noon! There was another set of friends there during our visit. The front desk person didn’t seem very happy to give us the basic details of their pricing/ any basic information at all, apart from wanting us to pay for the game. I mentioned her thrice about my husband and me waiting for rest of the party to arrive, so we can choose mini or regular ball size for the game. Anyways, we got the shoes which did not feel clean. You have to choose size of the balls ahead, they give you only what you ask for. It was about 57$ for a 50 minute game/one full round I guess. It was an alright experience. Would try other places next time before coming back here.
Great family fun
Good vibe fun place to be
Best for bike ride.
Fun times with friends, such a classic.
Had an awesome time here, staff was great.
Went for a work event. Gloeball fun.
Old style and had many issues with 10 pin bowl
A place to have a good time, good laughs & drinks, fun fun fun.
Nice place, nice atmosphere All the équipement is in great shape
Very friendly staff. Book upstairs for glow in the dark 5 pin bowling and wear something white. Fun for kids.
Fun place to bowl for cheap.
Awesome experience. Was very impressed with their YBC bowlers as one came over and gave our young son a pep talk after he lost the tournament.
This business caters to everyone with a cool atmosphere
So much fun. Many laughs. Great way to visit friends. Parents and young adult mixer. Having the score computerized made it so simple. Go have some fun, go bowling!
Fun glow bowling, fast service at busy times. Clean shoes not smelly, comfortable to wear. Unpleasant experience with small children next to me taking the balls and making me what minutes at times for another one. By the end I was done. Good food and pop. Had a great time with the family would come again.
I like to bowl here. They have both 5pin and ten.
Super fun
This bowling alley was pretty terrible. They pushed us to leave when we still had 5 minutes and only a round and a half to play. Two lanes broke on us while we were there as well.
Really fun little spot.
Fun but pricey
Reasonably priced but the food is slow and they mess up orders on busier days.
Had a blast! Staff was super friendly and nice, this place a good family owned vibe to it.
Fun place with retro vibe. Had to call attendant a few times because mechanics weren't working properly
A bit cozy but worth the fun.
Fun place for a team event on just a family day out. Reasonable prices and clean place.
Fun place for a team event on just a family day out. Reasonable prices and clean place.
A really fun place with great staff!
A really fun place with great staff!
Super fun!
Got the date night special ($30 for an hour of bowling on Tuesdays) and did 5-pin glow. Overall good experience but the machine was a bit finicky at times
Nice place to bring your kids
Its really awesome upstairs I had lots of fun ????
So much Fun! Have a freest night with your friends and spouses! Good food menu & drinks. All protocols are in place! Friendly staff and energetic ambiance. All ages welcome to okay. Check out weekly deals!
Great little place. Good atmosphere. 5 pin bowl only but just try it, you won't be dissapointed
Friendly staff, well maintained lanes. Need to make reservations a lot of the time.
Cheap and fun
Great fun and good value for money
Fun place to come with kids.
Glow 5 pin bowling was an experience with a big group of kids on spring break. Ball loading was a bit slow, waiting at times minutes for a ball to come down. A smaller space which equals loudness when in a large group. Shoes were clean and in good condition. Recommend going upstairs instead of lower floor due to the glow factor and downstairs was fairly lit and not as fun looking. Overall a decent experience and a couple hours of fun with the family and tons of kids.
Fun to bowl, but the alleys could definitely use an upgrade. Almost always, the pins didn't set correctly and required a few resets before it was right. The beer was priced ok. Atmosphere is fun.
I like it. I like bowling.
Fun place to be with family and friends.
Good people and lots of fun. Fast lanes. 2 games in under 90 mins. Highly recommended.
The guys working on Valentines Day seemed like they didn't want to work there. Very miserable. They definitely were not covid friendly as they let a huge group of people just stand and wait in front of the door inside. We didn't finish our game and left.
Glow in the dark
Friendly staff but computer kept crashing and couldn't keep our scores...
Their birthday packages used to be much better but have changed and wasn't told. Pizza was extra and wasn't told. Be aware you are told 2 pieces of pizza per child but one pizza is small and the other is large...causes issues with kids as not enough. Kids were not able to order what they wanted as they made entire pizza based the majority and not the individual request. Not enough time for bowling and too much waiting for pizza as it was not ready. Would not recommend anymore and won't do another party there. The girl server was fantastic!
Fashionable interior. Classic and well maintained from the late 40s. Amazing staff, absolutely top notch people who were dedicated to making our time great.
Tons of patrons not wearing masks despite signage directing them to do so, when we asked the staff about it they refused to do anything
Great neighborhood bowling place.
Great bowling alley
Fun times. Great staff!
The receptionist was so mean and arrogant. This was our first and last experience.
One of the Best locations for Bowling! Open for a challenge from 10 pins? Check this location out to see if you are worthy with friends and family. You will enjoy something new, like I did, it's fun, friendly staff members,
Upstairs is SO HOT, so even though the glow bowling is only upstairs I would recommend being down. Aside from that, great time!
Good hotdogs
Awesome place to unwind, great staff service
Super fun to go upstairs for glow bowling!
Great place, family run, clean, grab a beer and a pizza.
Awesome vintage vibe. Timeless and friendly
Classic looking bowling Alley. Could definitely use more 10-pin lanes than it currently has though.
Awesome place
Kids and adults love the black light bowling.
Unlimited bowling after 9pm. Pins on strings are bad though, kept dropping them.
Disco bowling
a fun experience, glow in the dark game is a new one for me, cool
Very unpleasant staff answering the phone. Being busy does not grant you the right to be rude and blunt.
BEST birthday party venue I have attended! The staff were organized at the front desk & with serving food. The kids had the perfect amount of time to bowl (1 hour), the food was the perfect amount, standard party fare; juice boxes, fruit tray, chip bags and pizza. The party space (upstairs) was private, clean, and not cramped. The host parents were able to relax. I would totally have a party there and just go to bowl.
It's fun with friends however the staff could be much friendlier.
nice for kids
nice for kids
Great service but don't expect well oiled lanes if you're bowling 10 pin.
Not a terrible experience
Absolutely the worst bowling experience of my life. Very bad customer service. Poor knowledge of bowling and about the facility. Also very expensive. And smelled like marijuana very strongly. NOT A GOOD ENVIRONMENT
Poor air con and ventilation in general. The place is not just vintage but is outdated.
Cheap drinks, cheap bowling, great fun. 10/10
Always have a great time there!
Nice staff
Fashionable interior. Classic and nicely maintained. Whilst it does not look that fancy, it's a strong vicinity to head bowling. The workforce is polite and could take the time that will help you out if you stumble upon issues. It attracts a pleasing blend of older and more youthful generations. I did not get any food, however, I did get some drinks, which had been priced at a truthful quantity surprising. I would suggest other places. It's pretty near the industrial Sky train. Ugly experience with small children subsequent to me taking the balls and making me what minutes at times for any other one.
Not recommended at all. 1) The manager was rude, very rude!!! I almost wanted to cancel the party reservation 3 hours before. 2) The pizza looked and tasted very bad, not to mention the high price! 3) the place was smelly (weed?) 4) the computer could not keep the scores. I gave one star for the one staff ( young lady) who served us today. She was much better than the manager.
Good times for b day parties. And adult parties
Poorly managed, and literally most rude and insane manger I’ve ever seen in my life, unreal ????
Great for kids.
Airways a good time laser bowling!
I just had my backpack stolen from here - keys, wallet, iPhone, bike pannier etc. I'm writing this review to warn other people so that they can avoid what I'm going through having to replace everything including my house door locks, credit cards, car keys, phone, bag etc. Police investigation under way and management being really helpful. The thieves ran up purchases on both my credit cards. We now know that a person came off the street, went upstairs and targeted our bags, which our very large group were sitting next to whilst bowling! Be warned and keep all your personal belongings safe and don't use the clothes rails provided, as that's where our stuff was. I do like this place, but I also do know there are loads of sketchy people around, walking off the street doing stuff like this, so overall not the best vibe. I have two little boys and I'm gutted that I probably won't be back, as it's going to be a horrible reminder. Please put up signs to warn people to keep belongings safe and please check all people entering to confirm they are paying customers!
Great glow in the dark alley
Had a great experience there, bring your friends. Bring a date! On Tuesdays they have Date Night and you get a special rate. It was fun. Once or twice they had to reset the pin due to a technicality but hey you can always drink while you wait.
It is a good place for bowling but i guess need some improvements. Pins got stuck many times and returning balls got out of track.
Fun but seems dirty
Fun but seems dirty
Good price: Tuesday has date night, 2 people bowl 3 games for $20 (glow bowling). Nice place, but food here isn't great.
It serves it purpose but nothing more. The shoes were very worn out and the equipment was outdated as well.
Not safe. Poor Covid Protocols Each set of lanes is divided by a wall. Basically there's two lanes In each set of walls. When I got there every group had it's own space with walls around it. While this appeared to be pretty well thought out social distancing measures It did not last. About halfway through our game another group joined us in our lane. We were both confused because we were so close. I went and asked the employee if a mistake had been made, he told me there was 6 ft between the lanes. I wasn't really comfortable with it but he seemed convinced that we were able to keep our distance. he told us that they measured the distance between the lanes and that it was 6 ft. I highly doubt that it's 6 ft, these guys were close enough to feel the air move when they walked by; plus we were all sharing bowling balls. To top it off before our game finished up, there was another group waiting behind our lane for our spot. So we had a group beside us, as well as another group like 4 feet behind us trying to sit in our chairs waiting for our lane. To be honest this would have been an uncomfortable bowling experience even if there wasn't a pandemic floating around. I get that not everybody cares about Covid as some do, but that's doesn't mean that it's reasonable to pretend that you have distancing for people that do care. Taking distancing away from customers after they've already paid, and then turning around and telling them that it's okay and they don't have to worry is shady and dishonest. There is not a shadow of a doubt in my mind that wasn't proper distancing.
Family friendly and more or less well maintained.
Very nice
I really like the staff and environment..the prices could be better but still affordable. Just waiting for them to start the groupon deals lol
Wanted 10 pin bowling, didn't know the place even had 5 pin bowling. Cashier said there was only 1 lane available since the place was packed. Didn't even ask us if we wanted 5 pin or 10 pin. Charged us and told us to go upstairs. Got there and realized it was a 5 pin. Told her we wanted 10 pin. She said nothing was available. Asked if we could get a refund, gave an attitude and said no. Extremely bad service. Never going back.
My son had his 9 y/o birthday party upstairs in the Glow in the Dark lanes, opted for bumpers and glad I did, 9 y/o are not very good at bowling as it turns out. Kids enjoyed the hot dogs + pop dinner, gave them all glow stick necklaces, it went smoothly and everyone had fun.
Upstairs: 5-pin glo-bowling. Downstairs lit, half 5-pin and half 10-pin. Reasonable price to rent shoes and do a game. Better deal if you do 3 games. I suggest making a reso at peak times or to rent multiple lanes at once.
Good place
Fun, wholesome place to hang out :)
Went to the Glow Bowl on the second floor and had a ton of fun! Had one problem with the pins, but staff arrived shortly to help after we called them with the machine.
Kids love it. Very nice staff
Lanes were alright. It was way too crowded and loud.
Love this place
Mostly good experiences here, super hit or miss with the staff. If you get a lane it’s usually a fun time!
Very pricey for 10 pin bowling, they gave us a 5 pin lane to bowl 10 pin in. But the worst part was the spill of water on the floor that I complained about and because not all the water was wiped up correctly I wiped out on it when I attempted to sit down and I twisted my knee badly. I had my family with us and we were having so much fun up to that point. We ended up leaving early.
Like this place a lot, been going for over 10 years now off and on. Only downside is, if you're a casual visitor, you should check when the lanes are booked up for leagues / parties etc before heading down. They installed a new scoring system recently which is nice.
These lanes are level and fair. They glide smooth and straight forward. The charm is in its authentic aim to stay true to the era in which it was built. Recommended.
I love this place. They are very talented. Very kind. And very polite.
Great customer service.
The lanes are pretty old and rickety but you can’t go wrong for some bowling and they’ve got decent specials.
A cozy place to play bowling with your friends. Second floor is more beautiful in my opinion, but with small balls. So, if you want to play in a Pro mode, you should get a line in first floor
Good bowling experience
Grandview Lanes is a great place to bowl on the Drive, bowled there many times over the last 40yrs. Had birthday parties there. My kids even bowled there in McBumper buddies league. Would recommend checking it out.
It's a quirky and very offbeat location that has some great offers. The food and drink are cheap & as basic as it gets, the decor is from another era but it has more charm then almost anywhere else in the area.
Upstairs is SO HOT, so even though the glow bowling is only upstairs I would recommend being down. Aside from that, great time!
One of the rare bowling alleys in Vancouver. Thanks for the memories.
Love the bowling. Don't love the lady with a long face every time we go their for enjoyment. The lady is not welcoming and angry.
The lady working here doesn't know anything about customer service!!! She's so rude! I can't believe there's someone running a business and still so rude as she is!!!!
Polite staff. Open atmosphere.
Staff not friendly. I dont feel welcome there.
Cute little local bowling alley
Extremely poor customer service. Was given unacceptable attitude by one of the older female staff and we will not be returning.
Don't judge the place when you first come in. Go upstairs and you will good in the dark! Staff is friendly too.
Older facility. Restaurant above lanes. 2 10-pin and 6 5-pin lanes.
They have 5 or 10 pin bowling and glow in the dark bowling upstairs. Reservations are highly recommended. This place is dated and old school so don’t expect a modern bowling experience if coming here. Think 80’s 90’s bowling alley. The floor is SUPER slippery. I couldn’t find a ball smaller than a size 8.
nice place for events or with friends.
Fun place to take the kids ( second floor)
The caucasian old white lady was rude all the time....otherwise pizza was okay and it was fun.
Great place for Glow in the dark bowling!
Can't go wrong bowling
We reserved the lane for 2 hours and didn't get access to the lanes until 30 mins after reservation yet they kicked us out right at the end of the booked time. That left us only 1.5 hrs when we paid for a full 2.
Fully licenced. Cool atmosphere upstairs. Old school pins. However smelled of marijuana in the bathroom. That's not really their fault though.
I went for the glow bowling here, it was great! The lanes weren't crowded at all, and it's a super great place to come on a date. Tuesdays are $30, super fun!
Glow Bowling is great for adult birthdays too!
Enjoyed the atmosphere of the place but my lane constantly had pins that wouldn't appear. Bowling balls also kept getting stuck, leaving my group with no balls to use. Lots of maintenance seems to be needed around the place too. However I only played on the first floor so it may just be the first floor isn't as well maintained as the second floor. Lastly, my friends and I had to wait about five minutes for them to fix the pin setting machine before we started.
Great place to hangout with friends.. centrally located.. 5 minutes walk from the skytrain station.. a good place for the team building activity.. rates are fairly ok too.. must try glow in the dark bowling alley..
I rarely leave bad reviews but the management of this place needs a serious rethink. Get your head out of the clouds, work on your customer service, and maybe you'll be able to survive another few years.
First time here, friendly staff and clean. Lazer bowling upstairs too
(Translated) Uh yerr (Original) Uh yerr
A great fun place
A real classic, old school gnarly bowling alley which will transport you back in time! This place is pretty awesome and their glow in the dark lanes are rad. Make sure you book in advance as it gets busy with limited lanes due to COVID. Grab some social bubble friends, a few beers and a pizza and have a great time here, very much recommended for a cool evening. Staff are awesome and super friendly, a great joint all round. Slightly expensive, however I'd say it's pretty much expected based on the location etc.

A few issues with ball return and jam up.
Good value, slightly dated place (which adds character) for 5 or 12 pin bowling. Can order pizza, wings and beer to have by your lane. Free limited parking around the corner.
Small ball :(
Paul is the freakin' man! Super helpful friendly service in this sweet old gem, spend your money here.
The place is a long time family run operation. A black light glow room upstairs, more normal looking lanes main floor. Serves 5 and 10 pin bowling. Prices are fair, and there's lots of specials to check out on their website. They serve food and drinks and adult drinks. All in all, a good family fun place, or fun with some friends if you like to bowl.
Fun place to bowl. 5 or 10 pin. Would recommend making reservations.
Really cool retro vibe bowling experience, and pretty covid friendly too. The game goes pretty quickly so $10 for like 30 mins I thought was a bit pricey but it was a cool experience

Bowl ironically! Bowl UNironically! Bowl enthusiastically! Fun for the whole family. 10 and 5 pin available. Glow bowling too. Great party idea. League nights too. Great fun.
I like that it's not to busy.
Fun experience
Bad pizza
So much fun!
Glow bowling is the best!! Their date night special (Tuesday nights $30 for two) is super fun and a great deal
Cool...very cool!
Overall was a great experience. Walked in on a Saturday mid-afternoon with no reservation and managed to snag a 5 pin lane. All the 10 pin lanes were taken but we got in! Front desk person was a little rude and short, but she did look quite overwhelmed/busy so fair enough. Machines operated smoothly except for one run - my friend got a strike for a gutter ball ????????♀️ but regardless, we had a blast playing 5 pin for the first time in ages. We did/tried a bunch of trick shots that we wouldn’t be able to do with the 10-pin balls! Would probably go again if in the neighbourhood as it’s a nice fun activity break in between the window shopping/eating ???????? or go for glow in the dark ????

My first time playing 6 pin bowling was at this place and it was a blast!
Classic
I found it too crowded....not very organized at time I was rhere.
Amazing time had here.
Love this place and the cosmic bowling, but curious why they took away the automated scoring upstairs. Was this just temporary?
I find this place to be great value for money. The upstairs has glow bowling which is pretty fun. I was a bit disappointed that some of the 5 pin balls have large chunks missing out of them. I hope they get new balls soon!

Pretty standard bowling alley
Tuesdays is date night! Great for a team event or a fun date. Sure to have an excellent time here. Beer is served.
One of the few remaining bowling places in Vancouver. It is a popular spot. No parking provided by the business, however there is street parking. #letsguide
Black light lanes upstairs.
While it doesn't look that fancy, it's a solid place to go bowling. The staff are polite and will take the time to help you out, if you encounter issues. It attracts a nice mix of the older and younger generations. I didn't get any food, but I did get some drinks, which were priced at a fair amount surprising. Would recommend over other places. It's quite close to the commercial Skytrain.
Really fun place to go for a quick session of bowling. Went on the morning of a Father's Day and had a nice time with the family.
This is a great activity to do with friends. The staff is on top of keeping the equipment and rentals in order. Alcohol is available for purchase.
Love the classic feel of the place for a great night of fun.
Awesome retro bowling center.
I really liked it and it was really fun
Great place for a great time! 5 and 10 pin bowling, team events, glow in the dark, close to train, serves beers and food. Got that family owned feeling. Had an issue with lane and was helped almost immediately. Keep up the great work!
Older bowling alley and smells old, and I dislike that you need a reservation sometimes.
The staff here is quick to help and the atmosphere is friendly. It's not hard to have a good time if you bring some friends and have a few beers while you're bowling, and you can even pick and choose one or two snack food options for most restricted diets that are common in Vancouver. I've also brought kids here in the past and they loved the blacklight bowling upstairs. If your pins don't reset right, use the button on the end of the ball return to reset again.
The bowling itself was fun. Some of the staff were super nice but the chick with pink hair was suuuuper salty. Maybe she was having a bad night? Literally argued with everything we said and made us wait twice because someone took the name down wrong and we couldn't confirm the name it was under as if that was our fault. Lots of 'tude. Everything else was fine.
Good spot to take the kids, a little overcrowded on weekends. Could have better food options for Birthday party's, other than this one of the only Lane's in the city!
Feel very safe and protocols in place for distancing and teams stay in their own lanes with no lane changes, no personal touch & wearing of masks.
We just finished bowling at Grandview lanes and had a great time! They're licensed, which is a plus, the pins don't stick as badly as other lanes, and BJ is great to deal with!
Ive always had a fantastic time, except for when their fully booked. Fun places will be bound to fill up quick though right?
Had fun bowling here after many years away from the game. My only feedback is that the woman at the front counter charged us the normal fee. Fine, except that while my partner and I were playing the TV's over the lanes pop up an ad which states that Happy Hour is from Sunday to Thursday 12-4pm. We were playing at 2:30 on a Wednesday. My partner took a picture and when we handed our shoes back she showed the woman who said that we didn't ask for the Happy Hour discount! What? We are supposed to know about the discount?! The she said she didn't have to give us out money back that she would anyway. Out of then kindness of her heart? I think not. She got sprung trying to get away with it. So here goes the internet. Fun game. Customer service from her gets a 1 star.
One of oldes lanes in Vancouver, quite a bit of history here. A place could use a bit of sprucing up though, but at that price I really shouldn't complain =)
Food meh Ladies shoe size should be requested 2 sizes smaller at minimum. Everything else is aces.
Friendly and helpful staff! Family friendly environment and loads of fun.. Definitely coming again and 10/10 recommend!
First visit for us – staff really welcoming and friendly. Great automatic scoring systems and choice of 5-pin or 10-pin (small or large ball). Great fun for all. Place has a real vintage feel yet it’s lovingly maintained.
Fun place to bowl for cheap.
Fun and not too expensive.
Great place to bring the family for fun
Great family run business... hood place to being the kids.
I wish this place had more than two lanes of ten pin bowling. Alcohol selection is decent but by no means a serious selection.
A great place to take your date or come with a big group of friends. The time will fly by.
Good time
Glow in the dark bowling
5 or 10 pin bowling, on Friday or Saturday night go early or make a reservation. The upstairs area has glow bowling. Reasonable prices.
The bowling machine kept breaking
Always worried your going to come out with a fungus.
I went with my favourite grandparents. It was awesome.
Very friendly and helpful staff, even to a customer who was having their 1st visit (to an alley) in over 40 years.
I had fun because my friends and I were messing around but the lanes themselves are out of date. The seating at each lane is uncomfortably tight and the staff while not rude really don't seem like they want to be there.
Super friendly staff. Lanes are in excellent condition.
What the heck. No food allowed. Do they want me to die. It's not my fault I'm broke and hungry.
Nice bowling alley friendly staff electronic score-keeping system.
Felt very covid-safe as long as you wash your hands before and after touching the balls. Always a good idea.
A bit expensive but experience was good. Outdated vintage style but works
A bit expensive but experience was good. Outdated vintage style but works
Lanes were slightly breaking apart, bowling balls would slide out of their track and attack the players bruising their feet. Otherwise it was fun.
This is a great place to go for a fun game or two of bowling with your friends. Both five and ten pin bowling are available. The upstairs area operates as cosmic bowling so wear clothes that will glow if you plan on doing that. There is a selection of drinks you can purchase at the front desk (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and a few salty snacks. The place has a very positive atmosphere and an old school vibe.
(Translated) The staff extremely freezer !!! The staff speed, strangulation and bad! I forget @ (Original) Le personnel extrêmement freezer!!! Le personnel speed, strangulation and bad! I forget@
Decent bowling alley. Place and equipment is pretty outdated compared to the one in Coquitlam. Better to take advantage of one of their specials. Don't think it's worth going in for a game or two. Went and bought their 3 game special with shoe rental for 19$ or so and wanted to split it as two 10pin and one 5pin game. I played the two 10pin games then went to the counter and I was charged a regular game when I switched to the 5pin game which I think is kind of ridiculous. Okay experience. Can't say I'd go back.
it's a good spot for the trains and connections to ubc from Surrey or Burnaby
Showing its age. Needs updating
Decent atmosphere, nice staff, helped with any issues right away, bit messy trying to find the right ball
Upstairs blacklight artwork is amazing, staff is on it, food is o.k.
I hated the experience, but that’s only because it was a field trip, and I cannot bowl. I really liked the decor and neon glow of the upper room. The space between the lanes could’ve been bigger, and it would be nice if they had more chairs. Overall not a bad place to bowl.
Honestly don't know cuz I never went inside
Great experience here Not the newest or modern bowling place but good enough And it's close to the skytrain station It's always a PLUS
3 stars for my bowling skills. At least you can drink.
5 pin bowling and they have specials at night. 3 games two shoes rentals costed about $40. I got my ass handed to me by my girlfriend = priceless.
Remember to check out upstairs. The glow-in-the-dark lanes is another world.
Loved the old-fashioned interior that they have kept on the main floor over the years -- it gives such a retro and cozy feel. Visited for the first time this past week, but the staff seemed annoyed at helping us. Our game selection was limited (but we did note the capacity was reduced and we didn't make a reservation beforehand, so fair enough). But the staff did not show us a price list. We were kindly and patiently trying to ask if it would be better to pay per hour or per game for our family (ESPECIALLY since we didn't have a price list in front of us). Guy at the counter told us it would be cheaper to play per game (which was not true -- after checking the prices online when we got home, it ended up costing $15 more for the games we played when we could have just payed the hourly fee for the same amount of time). Plus, he didn't inform us of the shoe rental discount for youth or seniors, which would have applied to our family. He snapped at us when we tried to ask about special rates that were listed online.
Daytime worker screwed up my reservation and night shift workers attitude for mess up... too bad... won’t be coming back with staff like that
Retro experience... reminds me of bowling alleys of the 80s... which is probably the last time it was renovated here. Lots of lanes, and upstairs there is glow in the dark bowling. ????
The lady working here doesn't know anything about customer service!!! She's so rude! I can't believe there's someone running a business and still so rude as she is!!!!
Great experience! Friendly and welcoming staff eager to get you bowling. Both 5 and 10 pin, plus black light upstairs ????. Great deals, highly recommend.
Bowling. And black light.
Great time here. Good music cheap drinks and long games! Will go again.
The cosmic bowling was a fun throwback to bowling when I was a kid back in the 90s. The style and animations on the TV have not changed much, it felt a bit like it was frozen in time. It was a lot of fun and the prices were pretty affordable. I would come back again.
Fun! Clean shoes & lanes
Nice place
Friendly staff, laid back fun.
Nostalgic fun
Bowling is fun
To begin with l have made a reservation for a 10-pins two hours game and when I came at scheduled time they told that I am not in the list, but later I have noticed that my name was just crossed out. Afterwards I realized why - that lane was used to celebrate someone's birthday with a group of around 15 persons (certainly why not to cross out me and my wife?) (This review is made about the visit before Covid hit the planet) Ok I said that we are ready to wait for a 10-pin game but the employee said not possible, all busy except 5-pin lanes. I agreed for one hour game, later I was happy that I did not buy two hours. It's awful, firstly I have never played 5-pins, secondly the condition of everything starting from washrooms to equipment was very poor. You will never see me there again

Had fun there!
I would give it a five stars, but I kept had to press the reset button three times.
Tons of fun, great deals, and very accommodating when we brought two little ones with us! Amazing customer service, and during this COVID pandemic, they go out of their way to make sure you feel safe, without negatively affecting the experience at all. I will be coming back soon, that's for sure. Be sure to call ahead to book a lane!
Awesome airbrushing upstairs had fun!
Pretty fun and reasonably priced. Would recommend!
Prices are reasonable. Service prompt and courteous
Fun Place.
I used to love this place, we came every weekend. Very disappointed with how they've handled Covid, they obviously don't care about their customers safety. Been there numerous times in the last few months and every time the place was packed, no distancing, and staff didn't care/was rude to anyone who tried to ask for more space. Really sad, this was one of the few fun bowling alleys left.
It's nice that they have leagues to bowl and can bowl when alleys are free.
It is a nice place to spend good times and play some bowling
Solid spot for 5 pin bowling
Friendly atmosphere
Some of the 10 pin systems were faulty, as at times, some of the pins didn't came up after a turn.
Had a blast, it was during the day and very quiet, well other than the loud roar of our group. The staff were very accommodating and friendly, even tho the phone was rigging off the hook, they had bookings and parties to set up a d when we were leaving they had many groups show up but were still super awesome to us. Will definitely be back. Thanks for the great time!
Good but busy and slightly unorganized. Overall not a bad night
Great fun, old school place.
unless you really want cosmic bowling, best to avoid this place. From our first phone call to last interaction, the manger was extremely rude and should not be in the service business. poor scheduling, and every response sounded like she just couldn't care less about our business. Poor scheduling practices too putting us on a lane that was to have a party right at the time we were done forcing us to rush out of there (but of course at that point we wanted to rush out), when there were at least 5 other lanes open!
Love this place. Staff are friendly and the atmosphere is an authentic bowling vibe. Reccomended for the full bowling experience.
Pros: Great place for a fun hangout especially upstairs with the black-light bowling. Cons: The lane we had had a malfunctioning pinsetter, which was annoying because we had to constantly go downstairs to ask someone to come up to fix it.
We celebrated my grandson's birthday there and it was noisy as the kids were having a great time. When the food came and it quitened down a lot. Everyone was happy and We would recommend this place for kids birthday parties , you don't have to clean up after either.
Cool
Great fun shoes smelled funny
Good for dates, parties, work groups, or just to kill a couple hours in an air conditioned building. Family owned since forever; still has a taste of old Vancouver in the fast-changing Commercial Drive neighbourhood
Great fun place to hang out with friends and family !
Always fun We came here for glow in the dark bowling
Come here for a retrolly good time.
Awesome, great service and cleaning!
Super fun time, friendly staff
Pretty fun! Don’t serve booze during Covid
Superfun, especially having both 5pin and 10pin.
My friends and I made plans to come here for a catchup and from the get go it was already not looking good. We were first told we would have a lane for 2 hours for up to 6 people, but after checking in again, told we only had one hour but two lanes for three people. Upon arrival, it seems like they had no clue about our plans but they were able to get us 2 hours on one lane for the six of us. Bowling went fine but twice our balls were stuck and we ended up waiting for about 10 to 15 minutes sitting around. This would have been fine if not for the fact we were paying for 2 hours rather than for games. When the balls were rolling again, we did not receive even an apology for the inconvenience. Finally as we finished, we ended up actually only being able to bowl two games but it was less than two hours. So we couldn't even bowl the rest of the time we paid for. At 17 dollars a person, the six of us paid 102 dollars for 2 games, not two hours, and shoes in a single lane. I am mostly just very disappointed in the service. The prices were okay but the fact that we lost time playing while there were issues and no one came to offer some form of compensation or even an apology was the most disappointing part. The whole day involving this bowling alley was just a let-down in general.
Fun place to go with friends but I think people should know that all lanes are open which means even though all the balls are sanitized you may get another group next to you using all the same bowling balls which felt a bit redundant and with the closeness of each lane and seats allotted to each lane it didn't feel super covid friendly. For people that are being careful I wouldn't recommend
Has 5 pin and 10 pin. Old feel. Easy to get to from skytrain
ok to play here
Overpriced due to location. Fun but you can easily break the bank if you play one too many games!
During covid. The place was a mess, beer cans everywhere, no cleaning. Toilets had paper all over the floor, 1 toilet each for 2 floors. Will not be going back. Oh and the worst is that the beer was warm. ????
Cute little establishment on the drive! The balls are small so perfect for the kiddies. The blue ice cones were a total hight with the kids. We shall return again.
Good bowling, but our lane had problems a few times
Friendly and courteous staff but the place and it's resources are both extremely dated.
The staff is horrible.
Recommended.
Used to love coming here with my friends and family. However, one night I came late for a friend’s birthday and one of the caucasian workers got really angry that I joined a lane of 6 people. Totally understandable because of covid (even though I was unaware at first), but he tried to kick me out in a very rude way and handled the situation poorly. He also started using swear words to get me out, when I just wanted one more minute to say happy birthday & goodbye to my friends. Supposedly, there was a bowling lane of 8-9 people next to us. Never coming back here again.
There is usually no wait for lanes and they serve beers late into the night. I love the disco bowling.
Good atmosphere and location, but very old equipment. The pins are attached by string and that can screw up the play and also get tangled. The balls are old and damaged. We still had fun, bought a bunch of beers for pretty cheap, but I do wish the bowling itself was better with no strings!
I just like to bowl. Staff is nice too.
Solid place. Upstairs blacklight zone is a classic/
I really enjoy this place- glow Bowling is fun and the staff are pretty great
I love this bowling alley! The staff are friendly and I love that they have the glow bowling upstairs!
only a few ten pin lanes
I know it's on "the drive" but still a lil too pricy for bowling
The staff is so rude at the front!!!! Definitely not going again.. Will recommend you not to..
Fun atmosphere, blacklight area is REALLY cool. Equipment is outdated and sometimes doesn't work properly.
That was osmmm. Just loved it. Bcz its my first time for bowling. Just fun. With friends.. ????????
Cool staff, awesome vibe, love the glow in the dark bowling at night.
Great bowling alley, friendly staff
Old but good
Friendly service, good rates, and a stress free atmosphere make this a fun place to bring friends. Would go again.

They were able to slot us in nicely and extend our time by cancelling reservations. The 10 pin is fun, a few bugs happened but otherwise it was super chill and fun
Good fun. Takes Reservations and they're easy going about it which is nice. Thursday from 9PM-Midnight is $10/pp min 4 people per lane, no reservations taken for that though. You can buy Beer and Pizza and soft drink cans there. Rental shoes DONT smell and look newish. Two levels, upstairs has UV lights. Bottom level is lit 'normally'.
Top notch bowling and beers. Great place to meet up and hang out with friends.
Consistently broken ball returns.
Laid back and fun
We had a great time, they played awesome music, fun atmosphere.
The staff were great and we had a fun time
The lady working here is very rude. She has no experience of customer services.
The only bowling league, where you walk in with a smile And leave smiling ☺
10/10 Nachos. I love the nachos. Even though they aren't homemade, it's still so good. This is my opinion, so don't judge. Reasonable prices, and overall good fun.
Absolute best place to go bowling, staff are chill and the lanes are great.
Check little bowling alley. Great friendly staff!! :)
Great place to have a bday party no matter your age. Lots of games, and serves alcohol.
I love Tammy T - shes the most accommodating and nowhere else id spend my Saturday night!
Good location (close to Commercial skytrain and bus routes). Decent price, you have two types of bowling to choose from, and you can drink booze!
You can eat, you can drink, and you can bowl. 5 pin, 10 pin no problem. Make reservations.
Great ambiance for bowling and awesome specials for different days of the week.
Make reservations ahead of time as they don't have that many lanes. They have both 10 and 5 pin bowling.
Nice local place, main level could use some updating. Bowling alley 2 kept having problems. Either putting too many or not enought pins down :( Friendly staff!
Awesome place to take the kids
Great fun had on multiple occasions. The have both 10 pin and 5 pin
I always have a blast at Grandview Lanes! A great choice for a night out with friends or a date. The staff are funny and friendly. The vibe is retro and fun - they have cosmic bowling upstairs which is my usual go-to. They also offer deals & specials throughout the week - check those out! Affordable & so fun!
Staff was friendly and very accommodating. The place is a real retro vibe. Great for a date night. My partner and I had a great time. They have a date night special on Tuesdays. We’ll be returning again for sure!
Staff was good... Decent enough beer... Food choices are a little to be desired... But there are a lot of options in the area.
Good quality lanes, good service. Quite pricey
This place is located on Commercial Drive and is very close to the Commercial SkyTrain station. There are both 10 and 5 pin lanes on TWO FLOORS! The food here is pretty good as we had a large party with young kids. They had a ramp for the kids but it was quite large so we elected not to use it.
Chaotic when its busy at the front desk. Good prices.
Really busy. But enjoyable. Needs more frontline staff. Long waits
This is hands down the best bowling alley in Vancouver and I have my birthday here every year. Casual with an old-fashioned aesthetic, Grandview keeps it authentic and real. Prices are great too!
Great place for a late night bowl
Love the classic feel of the place for a great night of fun.
A fun place to go and bowl a few.
Love this place especially the upstairs. Lots of street parking on commercial and there was no wait even though we went on a Friday night. Staff was also very nice.
Fun to have the glow in the dark bowling upstairs. Rental shoes were quite old though. Bring your own if you can.
Pizza hour we got....pizza was doughy yet meat was all cooked. ???????? Service: Some were kinda lost but got right in the moment, knew what where etc...to do. Staff that came around social kind polite.
Staff is rude and careless. Even when my lights didn't come on in my lane they just tell me "that's how it is" and didn't care to fix it and walked away when clearly other lanes have lights. I had to ask to switch lanes in the end. I walk in and they ignored us when there were no other customers and she decided to pick up the phone instead. I waited about 5+ minutes and had to get her attention to get service even after her phone call. I told her I brought the disposable shoes I bought from them last time and they responded by saying "I got to see it to believe it. " The customer service was horrible!!
Just had my wife's 40th birthday party here. Could not have had a better time. Food was great, Matt and his team provided great service. I would recommend Grandview Lanes for anyone wanting to host a fun party for all ages.
Always a fun way to get your dive-bowling fix. Cheap drinks and a relaxed, retro atmosphere make this place a great way to start your evening or celebrate an event with friends.
It's a great place to go bowling it's not expensive and it's good thing to do when you have free time.
bit outdated but a great spot for bowling none the less
Nice place to play bowling for cheap price but it’s very quiet there, almost no vibe which makes it less joyable
Great place to 5 pin bowl. They are keeping it super clean. We had our own dedicated lane. 2 lanes away from anyone else and the bowling balls are all bleached before being put on your lane! Super positive experience during these tough times. The staff are also super awesome and accommodating. 10/10 experience
The staff were rude, woman at the front counter had an incredibly bad attitude, and was very snappy with us. Our lane kept breaking down. Quality of food was terrible and took forever to get to us. For a place thats been around for so long you'd expect way more. Wouldnt recomend Grandview to anyone, and definatly wont be coming back.
Awesome people and choice in 5- 10 pin
Great place to chill n hang loose.
Really fun, well priced.
Terrible service!!!! Older lady upfront is rude as heck!!! It was the worst experience I’ve ever encountered living on the drive for many years!
What a fun place to enjoy a couple of hours.!!!????
