Here you will be able to see the information of real people like you who consumed the products and services of Commodore Lanes (Bowling Alley) in British Columbia (Canada).
At the moment this firm has a score of 3.8 stars over 5 and this score has been calculated on 127 reviews.
As you can see it has an average rating is positive, and it is based on a very large number of opinions, so we can say that the rating is quite credible. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to give scores when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Bowling Alley belongs to the category of Bowling alley.
If you love 5-pin bowling like I do, these are great lanes for hosting events. There's also pool and foosball for those that prefer it. They also allow you to order in your own food, which is a plus. Cash bar with standard beers in bottles and a couple of local beers on tap. All in all a great place to spend some time bowling!
(Translated) Very good (Original) Muito bom
Strange bowling, small balls. Can't drink and play, bar for cash only.
It's super OLD. Seriously, old doesn't mean dirty. So much dust everywhere. Clean a little bit or change the whole amount of "decorative" items around the place... less is best.
Enjoyed group bowling event. Good service
Really fun, cool vintage vibe
Best place for bowling in Downtown. Extremely friendly staff. They got Billiards and also great snack selections on the vending machine which i find it very convenient!
Meh..
Total douchebags. Seriously. We had three balls left, and they cut off our game. We paid for many lanes, and they cut us off with literally three balls left. And what's with the militant red line. If I want to get treated like a criminal, I will go rob someplace upstairs and make it worth it.
I went there without covid ID and they didn't let us come in. Government allowed bowling, salon, library, cloth shop, and hotel etc where we can go without it. I am very disappointed. Hope they read the new rules more carefully. Thank you
Love coming here when I'm in Vancouver. Love the location, love how it's setup. Also a nice reprieve from the heat.
Great vintage bowling. We'll be back
A pretty nice place for killing time and bowling!
Old... everything. We had a good time though!
Old old old equipment.
Canadian bowling very cool. Nice pool tables.
Very vintage place. First time i ever played 5 pin bowling. No air in there....
Great location for entertainment and bowling. Although I will take off one star due to its parking availability. Finding parking near the location is hard and takes a long time. I suggest potential customers to use public transportation or Uber to access this location. Other than that, this place offers a lot of variety for your needs, such as bowling and pool. It’s pricing is acceptable but not on the cheap side.
Retro, in a good way
Worst place ever! Employees and manager the rudest of all people I've seen in my life! Way to go....treat clients disrespectfully (there were 12 of us).
Retro 5 pin bowling place. There are plenty of lanes for bowling and pool tables too. The only inconvenient is that their food counter that serve food and drinks only take cash.
Pool tables are to die for. I wish they upgrade the lanes to 10pin though.
Really cool, old school bowling alley with tons of charm. Very iconic in Vancouver with tons of legacy shown over the walls. It's a little run down but that's part of it's majesty.
It's okay...quite pricey tho after 6pm for bowling and they also use the small mini bowling balls
A bit different from the lanes I am used too
Was okay but needs an update. The scoring machines were still green and black text. The reset after 3 balls messed up several times. They had no edible food.
It was fun night with beers and friends.
I love the place! Owner is so kind and sweet, went in one night but they were closing (due to covid measures) and he promised to not charge us for shoes the next time we come in. Came in the night after and got charged half an hour for an hour play and no charge on shoes! Definitely recommend for a fun time with friends and family.
good times. wish you could have beer on the lanes.
The place is fairly old, and it shows. But the bowling's still decent, and it's a pretty nice way to spend an evening with friends without breaking the bank as well.
So its a little dated, but we had a lot of fun! The 5 of us, played for an hour and half. Enough time for two games, lots of laughs and a few drinks. Be sure to bring cash for the snack bar where they also serve beer and wine. Reservations are a good idea as it was busy on Friday night. Did seem to get a little quieter around 10pm.
Love the atmosphere in here. The place feels like a time capsule. They could improve the lighting a little and make it a little more suggestive. Disappointed that it was just small bowling balls and not regular sized. We had a fun time though.

It was a bust,my friend got ill so we couldn't stay
Fair. Didn't provide socks.
I come here to play pool all the time. Always clean. Over the last few years though seems like prices have gone up.
It's kinda grungy, a bit out-dated, but they have a monopoly on bowling downtown so you don't have much of a choice. The billiards are good and well priced.
A favorite place to chill in Vancouver.
Service here wasn't great but it's a decent place to bowl. They ran out of beer on tap at around 4pm :(
Solid venue for a casual date.
Such a cool little gem on Granville Street. Super friendly service and a really fun way to pass a few hours downtown.
Five pin bowling for close to 50$ dollars an hour more like throw your money down the lane this place is crazyyyyy 1 star
Had a worst customer service experience there and it's so sad because it was our second time there and we love this place vintage vibe. We booked two lanes and paid 112CAD for everything (and that is pretty expensive having in mind that shoes are so worn out and etc.) but anyway here is what happened. Old man who said he's the manager there saw me drinking my coffee from a jar bottle and said to put it down, which I did and left it on the table and went to meet my friend. After I came back my jar was gone, and I went to him to ask if he saw who took it, and he was like "yes, that's me" and started to loudly argue with me and didn't give it back. I talked with younger guy at the till after and he just apologized but couldn't do anything because old man already dumped it out and he also couldn't give me any discount. Never coming back and don't recommend anyone to go there, save your money for a better place!
Now has electronic darts!!!
Great destination for 5 pin bowling in downtown Vancouver. Loved it!
We were just playing really good 5 pin. In the second half, we just played really good 5 pin.
Nice place to hang out with friends!
I had a really good time in there. The place is average, it's nice but nothing really special.
great place to relax
The person who attends you is not very friendly, if you are going to play pool pay attention to the time, they will not notify you if you spend time and then they will charge you a good extra
Great place to do either 5 or 10 pin bowling. Or pool for that matter. Walking distance from Granville station public transit. Has some food and drink options and alcohol. And is in the middle of the Granville entertainment district super close to restaurants, shopping, bars and lounges etc. Has been around for ever. Cool and inexpensive place to hang out
Closed early
5 pin bowling with tiny balls worth the experience. Very old school.
B.S. not even open, go to commercial dr!
Literally feels like this 5-pin bowling alley is in a time capsule. Very retro atmosphere, reminds me of bowling as a kid.
10/10
It was very nice to be able to enjoy 5 pin bowling and beer at a very classic spot. I had no idea that this cute bowling, my first experience, would be so attractive.
Bowling and pool is great but fairly expensive
Very quaint 5-pin bowling place. Lots of space, facilities are polished well and antique, and the atmosphere radiates its lengthy history. Despite the old machinery, they function just as well as new. Definitely worth a visit!
Customer service is terrible
Love this place. Before every game or concert it’s a great place to get pickled
A really nice place! A good place to go with friends and a place to travel back in time ( people who love old stuff will love it ) Has nice staff, nice place, nice price and shoes look like they are new, really an awesome place to hang out or ( have a date ;) ) it’s really fun, definitely will come back more than the two times that I have already gone, thank you for the ride back in time, and keep being awesome!
A very unique and charming place!
It's like we stepped into the late 70's or early 80's!
Decent spot for billiards. But the equipment is quite worn.
Great friendly staff, lots of fun for kids and adults. I am glad it is still there and it has the same original look. Wish it wasn't cash only, makes it a difficult.
The place is fairly old, and it shows. But the bowling's still decent, and it's a pretty nice way to spend an evening with friends without breaking the bank as well.

Very bad staff. I went to there with my friends to play billiards and bowling. The old guy who manage the place was very rude with us. I don't recommend that place.
Havnt been there a lot, but i love it...energy is great. But its not as fancy as you might expect. And before going you should also know that its a small ball type of bowling.. Because many, including me, are used to the big ball sort of balling clubs.
There used to be a place to place your drinks while you bowling. Now they make you go to a table where you can't really keep an eye on your things. Inconvienant, if you're looking to both bowl and drink. I won't be coming back, I'll continue to go to the one on marine drive.
Fun activity to do while downtown. Rates are good and the bar available is nice to have if you feel like a beer. Can get pretty hot during the summer though since there's no wifi. Lots of pool tables and electronic darts boards to play as well. Fun times!
Good service, old school tho
All fun and quite a vintage place, but the guys working there could be a lot more friendlier, especially when asking for such high prices. They also grabbed our ID and phones quite aggressively and weirdly, which is a no-no during a pandemic
A very nice billiards and pool joint. Great for groups and a good place to sit back and relax. The owner is very outgoing and actually serves you on site. Liked the experience
Really old school 5-pin bowling alley. Weird entrance. U have to walk down a few staircases to get to it. Bowling lane seems to glitch a lot after someone gets a strike/spare so next player has to click the reset lane button right after.
Like stepping back in time. Not many places like this left in our highly digital world.
Fun place
Pretty decent 5 pin bowling. Lots of lanes. Has a bar you can buy drinks from when the staff has time. It seemed pretty old and dated.
I thought it was a nice place, but the people who work there were very rude to me and my friends, saying there was no space for our party of 15, they also said that those who would not be bowling (4 people) should leave the premises. What kind of bowling alley asks their guests to leave or make their friends leave even if there is space? Billiards people were the same. What a shame, won't be coming back.
Great atmosphere, too bad there are only 5pin bowling lanes.
The equipments are so old, and this so-called Canadian style bowling looks really awkward to me
Cheap 5 pin bowling and billiards. Go on weekdays for best price
Nice bowling club
Great place for a date or a group. Lots of Lanes and many pool tables. Easy to grab a beer and drink between bowls. Atmosphere fits a bowling alley perfectly with Nick nacks and such over the walls. Priced appropriately for a place right dt on Granville.
Fun, but way too hot, and so damn quiet, music was on but hardly audible....thought we were in a library
A pretty cool place, make resos and make sure you make them for the amount of time you want to be there because once your time is up you have no chance to get a lane (on weekend nights). Honest review for those looking for asthetics and boujee drinks/ a boujee experience, this is not the place for you, lol , the place is run down ( that's what makes it cool), the drinks are basic at best, it's a cash bar and it's quite over priced. They are very strict with mask rules/ no drinks close to the alley.
Fun times! 49$/hr, 4$ per pair of rental shoe. Drinks are cash only and bowling is 5 pin bowling with 3 turns a hit. Weird, but fun! Definitely recommend just doing 30 minutes as 1hr is really long. Overall would recommend to bring a group of friends along.
(Translated) I did not like the service they give the public, the billiards tables are well cared for the staff are kind of thick and everything a freshness can not stop to decide what to do with friends who already comes someone wanting to send it away. (Original) Nao gostei do atendimento que eles dão ao público, as mesas de bilhar são bem cuidadas pena os funcionários serem meio grossos e tudo uma frescura não pode parar para decidir o que fazer com os amigos que já vem alguém querendo mandar embora.
You need a reservation on most Friday/Saturday nights or you are going to be looking at a 2-3 hour wait to bowl. The pool tables are good but a bit expensive, $12-$15/hour. While it is convenient to pay at the end, it seems a bit pricey for people who just want to have a couple games of pool and aren't pros. Drink choice is minimal so you would be better off drinking before hand or afterwords at one of the bars along the street, plus alcoholic drinks are limited to a drinking area so you can't play anything until you're done. On the plus side staff is very friendly and the place is kept in very good condition.
the distinct smell of piss and old people is what you'll be hit with soon as you enter. i guess this joint has some novelty, but i'd rather steer clear.
Some staff are great, others not so much. Had fun bowling and playing pool here.
A good place to go and hang out and play pool
Chill place, service no good...
Terrible service. Avoid going on weekends unless you have a reserved lane. And don't speak to the old guy there, he yells at everyone.
This place is a blast from the past. Don't come in here looking for friendly service. The establishment itself is dirty and very dirty. They have a limited selection of alcoholic beverages and beer. They have pool tables, darts, bowling and some pin ball machines. This place has so much potential in my opinion. Giving it 3 stars because they are the only show in town.

In the universe there is no better bowling experience. The Commodore lanes are a delicate balance of history and technological marvel. Easily the recreational highlight of that part of Granville street. Duckpin for the win. World travelers can take themselves back to an era of a kindler gentler Vancouver. Staff are not just handsome but helpful and knowledgeable. I personally love the popcorn machine terrariums!
It has a more classic Vibe to it IMO. They have bowling and poll tables available. Only been here once for a work Christmas party. Had a good time.
Got ripped off by the owner. Went for some fun games with my wife on her birthday. Was told paying for an hour ($45) was cheaper than paying per game ($11 per game for two people). Bought a couple of beers and proceeded to bowl. We're both young and in shape and bowled as quickly as possible. In the hour we didn't even finish 3 games and the lane shutdown on us in the middle of my ball going down the lane, which equates to less than $33 per game total had we not purchased the hour like we were recommended. Went and explained the situation to the boss and he essentially told me tough luck. Awesome job. I've frequented this establishment in the past on numerous occasions, and after this horrendous customer service, will not return. Absolutely ridiculous.
The place is OK, comfortable. Most of the staff did a great job, except for this old man who worked there supervising, who was really impolite. So me and 5 of my friends were waiting for the rest of my group to come. We were seated just in front of the lanes, and then he comes "what are you waiting for?! I don't like this. You can't be here. You have to buy" he didn't even let us explain. And later he tried to ban my friend just because he was throwing the ball in a way it could damage the floor. I mean, he was right in all the situations. I'm saying that there are tons of ways of saying what you gotta say in a polite manner and he just chose to be rude and make us uncomfortable in such a comfortable place, as I said. That's it. 3 stars.
Oldie but a goodie? More like oldie and fails in service. Employees do not look like they want to be here.
Love this place... great atmosphere and good beers, great place to go to get a few games of pool or bowling and some beers in with some friends!
(Translated) There are many pocket balls, so it is good to play. You can play bowling, but it's more expensive than Korea. Billiards range from $ 12 a month to $ 12 an hour, and $ 15 a day from Friday to Sunday. Bowling is $ 5 ~ 7 per game. There is also a separate shoe rental fee.
Great atmosphere, great fun, great location
Relaxed vibe. 5 pin bowling is always fun. Normal priced drinks and food.
The dart boards have been replaced with plastic darts. So take your steel tip elsewhere. The five pin is fun, and the staff is responsive if you get a lane that "sticks". The food is ok. A fun place to go before you head out for the night.
Like a blast from the past but still fun
A great place in the heart of downtown to play pool, bowling, darts, and eat and drink.
Good fun for bowling. It's cash only.
Lots of fun! And you can drink booze and eat food as well
We had to do bowling with small bowls. We were looking for bigger bowls
Bowling was great and the staff were accommodating.
5 pin bowling at it's finest!
Pretty bad service, the stuff is really rude and they talk to you like they are mad at you, like you’re a customer there at least you should be nice
Standard billiards table.
Fun place. Great atmosphere.
Pool table
so much fun! we played pool and laughed all night as the women's team sank the cue ball again and again. must be a silly female trait or something ????
Old School bowling alley, bring some friends and have some fun
A good place to play ????, ????, ????. You can also come for a drink :)
This is a great place for some fun with your party. Pleasant volume, lots of games. The bar is cash only
Good billiards and Foosball table. Didn't get a chance to bowl at the event, but it was pretty clean for what seemed like a dive-bar.
Great place for 5 pin bowling. Played here for an hour on a weeknight and loved it.
Great bowling, great pool. Lovely place. Great for group outings.
It has a lot of games and you can generally find a pool table or bowling lane even on weekends with short notice. It is rather dirty and the prices aren't phenomenal but hey, what can you expect for a games bar in the middle of downtown?
Great 5pin bowling in a licensed venue. Disappointing you cannot bring any drinks anywhere near the lanes, but that is pretty common.
A good place to spend time with friends
Bowling, food and drinks. The only thing missing is The Dude!
Over priced. More for tourists.
It's a bit hot in the basement. Good size pool tables, you can pretty much just chill here with all your friends. Lots of fun.
Casual place to play billiards with friends
5 pin bowling. Area is a bit sketchy, so watch your valuables
Never a dull moment for 5pin bowling. Lots of other things to do like darts and pool. Cheap pitchers of beer. Definite go to place to kill time in between events
Great place. It's like stepping back in time. Old school. Check it out if you're on Granville wondering what to do.
An old place but really fun and nostalgic, you can't drink while bowling , but there is bar with seats
What a hidden gem!
Love this place to much fun
Pool cues can be greasy at times but overall a good experience
Convenient location near the Granville station. Plenty of bowling lanes, pool tables and darts to play at a good price. No liquor aside from the seating area and the drinks are not the best of prices. Not the cleanest or newest place as it is sort of run down but it works for a fun night out.
Great little bowling alley. Perfect to take a date or a small group of friends. The equipment is a bit dated, but well maintained. *Make sure to have cash on hand* I wasn't too excited that there was no liquor allowed in the bowling area. I had to walk back towards the front side to have some sips of beverages. But it wasn't that bad. Giant pool room with plenty of tables. Prices were good and the experience was great. Staff was helpful and pleasure to deal with.
Pros: Great location in downtown Vancouver. Close to all sorts of amenities and other entertainment. On-location concession. Great for dates and outings with friends. Cons: Dated equipment. Green monochrome score-keeping monitors. Balls are not in the best condition as many have small chunks missing.
Its open 7 days a week. and open on any public holiday. and yes the socks are back in stock! :D
Lovely bowling alley with connected area for billiard tables. Theres pizza and beer available. Mind there's no elevators.
????
It was okay.. Balls are really small.. Don't feel like you are bowling.. Overall okay
Only 9-pin bowling, but fun nonetheless. Billiards was fun, too. Serves common beers, which was a nice touch. Pricing is average: not cheap, not expensive.
First time here and had a blast with my friends! It has a cool old school vibe tucked under granville street. I did enjoy 5 pin but I did wish to play regular 10 pin. Nonetheless, recommend this spot if youre trying to bowl downtown!
I won’t recommend this place at all!! I would suggest that u would keep far far away from this place, the old man working there who told me he’s the owner was so rude to me, we were a group drinking about 7 beers and he told us that we have to leave cause he needs the place for other costumers who will order more so he can make more money cause this way he won’t make enough money for his rent! he yelled at me while arguing with me over ordering more or else we have to leave! honestly this place is so old and even the bowling equipments are so small and hasn’t been updated for so long! I won’t go there never ever again...and as I told him that I’ll write this review and he said I can write whatever I wanna write I’m just saying it’s up to u...
No outside drink.
The bowling lanes are a little outdated compared to modern bowling lanes. Very accessible in downtown location.
Spent Awesome time and great place for friends to hangout
It was a fun night but they lose a star because it's cash only at the bar.
A historic landmark in downtown Vancouver, with 5 pin bowling and pool.
It's hot a certain style to it, being early 70's kitsch, if you want to step back in time to green screen scoring, dust covered ornaments everywhere, bad pizza and lame 5 pin bowling, this is the place to come. If you can overlook all of this, you can have a fun night out with a bunch of friends. But oh for a nice bowling alley in town
Inside the bowling alley, I could feel that it was a place that had been loved by many people for a long time. It was good to taste the charm of cute Canadian bowling.
I’ve never seen a place like this! I really enjoyed playing bowling there, even though everything is super old, it has its unique atmosphere!
I loved the retro style of this place, it makes for a very fun place to go at night, and it's location on Granville is pretty cool as you feel like you're going into the underbelly of Vancouver to an old bowling alley. The prices were a bit expensive.
Went for billard. Nice place
As much fun as terminal cancer
Retro 5 pin bowling place. There are plenty of lanes for bowling and pool tables too. The only inconvenient is that their food counter that serve food and drinks only take cash.
Cool little hidden bowling alley
It’s a quite a fun place, came here with my office for team activity. We all had a great time! The tiny bowling balls were a lot easier to control than regular-sized one. However I think one hour is the sweet spot, more than one hour, it gets a bit boring.
Good bowling ????
Crowded, old bowling lanes though the only saving grace here is the pool tables and the darts though it's all priced right for a simple night owl with a date or some friends.
Cute little bowling alley and pool tables. Pitchers of beer for 20 dollars but you cant bring them right onto the alley but pretty close. Pretty fun and tucked away
Pretty old stuffs.
Really fun retro 5 pin bowling. Very strict on alcohol near lanes
Fun place to spent a half or an hour playing mini bowling.
A classic, their lanes roll and their beer flows. Their food is terrible, but they are honest about it and recommend you go elsewhere for a bite.
Got a lane for a half an hour. Broke down 3 times...3rd time we left. Pointless.
Fun bowling and billiards hall with friends
A Vancouver institution. Haven't bowled here for some years, but we come here every so often to play pool. Tables are good; they have some new and very true cues since my last visit. One of the really fun things is the credit we of young people that arrive later in the afternoon that I think must be from the English school upstairs - truly the world's pool hall. Reminds me of my brief moments of misspent youth... Recommended.
Cool little hidden bowling alley
place is good. as of 2021. less people now go and you can have fun and be noisy as you want. play as you want. we mostly go here to play billiards. 15/h if normal days like before pandemic its like a bar noise here and play bowling and billiards with group of friends. the place is very alive. they serve food and drink ask them for more info. they are ok.
it was a nice place but the guy who worked the billiards was really aggressive and their group and alcohol rules are weird.
Hands down one of the best places to spend a Friday night downtown. The bowling is good and they have plenty of pool tables. Heads up, no alcohol is allowed near either.
Place is old Staff are friendly It was a company excursion when I was here Ok enough from the experience with team building but will not suggest for a family bonding Kids will not enjoy it There are others to go to
Worst bowling place I ever went... the equipment, alleys, employees were bad. Try another place
Was nice to go bowling but way too expensive at this place, but I guess it being vancouver one would expect to pay top dollsr even for an outdated facility. I spent 50 or bucks for a half an hour of bowling and ahoe rental. As prices are not even on website call to inquire. Ill just go somewhere else next time. Other places 20 buck for an hour or 40 for 2. Just saying.
Good place to play billard.
Oldest bowling alley in Canada. Very well maintained. Caretaker is a bit of a douche-canoe.
Loved it just a shame you cant have a drink whikst you play and its a bit pricey
Great place to come play pool, and darts.
This place is always busy, and for good reason. It's one of the only pool/bowling places left in downtown. It's very quirky, and old school. Some might not like the old school vibe, but my group loved it. Everything is a little out dated, but if you don't mind you can still have a great time. Prices for pool is $13 an hour for weekdays and $15 an hour for weekends. Max is 6 per table.
Fun old school bowling lanes. Bar is cash only. I took out cash at the ATM only to find that their keg had run out, so draft beer wasn't available. Good location.
Smoke from the back private room drifts into the general space. Irritating. Literally. :/ Furthermore, it's next to impossible to get a pitcher of beer. Really?
I've lived in the city for over 5 years now and only just learned of this place. I was blown away by how BIG the place was - bowling lanes and pool tables everywhere! Definitely retro decor, which added to the appeal of this underground hot spot. It was very busy and a ton of fun. Snacks and adult beverages for sale which made it a perfect pre-dinner activity for a birthday.
The place is nice and you can have a great time with your family. Washroom is very clean. The prices is not expensive and you will really have fun with kids.
Fair prices and no waits usually
Went over after dinner and it was filled with people. On Sunday it cost us about $20 for over an hour and we managed to get 5 billiard games in. There are bowling lanes and the place has a long history. Very comfortable mood and lighting wasn't too dark or too bright. Nice family friendly location to hang out and play some games.
Played 30 mins for 2 people. Enough time to enjoy. And old bowl is fun
Really cool place!
Great place for bowling. Very clean!
Fun.
Bowling is kinda expensive but pool and darts are reasonable
Bowling is kinda expensive but pool and darts are reasonable
Sometimes there were no balls for the bowling
Great little dive spot. Limited beer options so do keep that in mind if you plan on making a night out involving a couple drinks.
Bowling here is a ton of fun, it's a great spot to just relax for a few hours.
A bit dated and can use a facility upgrade.
5 pin bowling?! Who ever heard of that? They have a sign outside showing off "now with automatic scorekeeping", the scorekeeping equipment looks like it came right out of the 80s. The whole place should be rebuilt, it's all ancient. Get with the times, put up some proper bowling lanes and better computers for score keeping. The darts and pool tables are good though.
The pool area is good but the table are a bit close together, just like any other place.
The staff was a little bit disorganized but in general had a blast with my work colleagues.
Pool table and cue's are in bad condition
A classic
It's just okay. It's a cool setting under Granville Street, but once you get past that, it's not that great. My group tried bowling, and we were told that there were no open lanes and the league was starting in 30 minutes. There were about 5-6 lanes open and an hour an a half later, there was only two guys from the bowling league there. We decided to play pool instead. Which was ok, until the 'manager' said we were leaning on the table too much. I am not sure how you play pool without leaning on the table. The last thing that was rough is their liquor license. You have to stay in a corral type setting in order to be able to drink the beer that they sell. Which is no where near the pool tables. I get that the Vancouver liquor licensing is terrible, and their hands are tied, but that doesnt help to add to the magic of the Commodore Lanes. I am not saying that I wont be back, but that may be because there aren't many other options in the area....
Went for a bowling birthday party. Kinda small, the two women working the desk were really nice. Definitely understaffed and I felt bad when some random guy was yelling at the woman working the desk and she just had to take it. Not cool. The games are timed, which we weren’t told, so we took time to open gifts and chat before playing our second game and as a result didn’t get to finish the second game - didn’t get a partial refund for not getting to finish the game which kinda sucks but whatcha gonna do? Great location, near the sky train, easy to find.
Fun place to go for a night out with friends. They are pretty strict with their "no alcohol beyond these lines" rule, so you can't actually bring you drinks up to the bowling lane with you. That kind of ruins the vibe as the group ends up seprating and standing back from the lane if they are drinking, but overall a fun experience! Bowling and billiards in one place!
Cool place for pool, bowling, or darts
The cost was reasonable, it was well maintained and a fun night out on Granville. Would highly recommend for a simple effective bit of fun.
Loads 9f fun in a historic vancouver building. Excellent pool table darts and of course bowling.
In terms of bowling lanes, they only have 5 pin. And the equipment is rather old. There was a minor hiccup at one point with our pins resetting. Other than that, it's fairly well maintained. There's also dart areas and pool tables. But no alcohol in the bowling area itself.
no drinks allowed in the pool area
Place is a good place to hang. The punch machine is a rip (single play only),and the lane we rented broke down, but the rest of the place is good for after hours fun. You'll find the entrance as tiny, but it's a large underground area.
Walked down for some bowling, "bouncer" wouldn't let us in even though it was only 10 PM 1????♀️????♀️ alright then
Equipment is dated and the place smells like cigarettes. Prices are outrageous for bowling.
(Translated) Affordable but not very clean (Original) Abordable mais pas très propre
When my friends and I entered the place, it's got this distinct smell where you can say the place has been there for quite a long time. If you are looking for a place that has a 5-pin bowling, then this is the right place for you. I did not know that there is a 5-pin bowling. My lack of information. I gave it a 3 since we were waiting for a while to extend our time and there was only one guy at the information counter when we came in and he was busy somewhere with the other customers and also it was so warm inside and I did not see any fan that was on. But other than that, we had fun and sweating a lot.
I love playing darts here. Fun place to chill with friends. Bowling is okay.
Closed 30 minutes before their business hours
Fun five pin bowling, tons of pool tables.
Nothing like subway! Good fun with some friends both the bowling and the pool.
Its the the worst place ever! I want to know how the man (He may be an owner) could be "so" rude and impolite. I will never visit this place again....my worst memory in Vancouver.
I have to say that what really disappointed me in this place was the customer service when I was getting my shoes. May 10th 6pm 2018, asian dude at the corner. The guy simply did not say a word to me or my colleague. No hi, no how can I help you. We told him we need shoes and what did he did? nothing, continued looking at our face. Then we said the number we wear and the guy picked them up, dropped it in front of us and then walked away. No thank you, no there you go, nothing. This guys has no idea of what customer service is and should not be doing this job!
What fun! Great covid rules in place. Without having gone bowling for a while, $50 an hour to rent the lane felt expensive HOWEVER we were not done our 2nd game when the hour was up but they let us stay and finish for free bc no one else was waiting. Fantastic customer service ???? ???? the lanes and balls were in great shape and their units keep score for you. You can purchase alcohol but not drink in you playing area but close enough to still feel included.
Retro bowling alley. Good fun, can't bring booze to your lane though
This place is amazing!! Lots of fun and decent pricing. Recommend to chill and hang out with friends!! Atmosphere is incredible!!
This is an old school 5 pin bowling alley. We went here for a dad's night and we all had a blast.
Ok but not the best
Personable staff and fabulous location
Great night out and well worth checking out.
Old school vibe. Has a 5-pin bowling alley and pool tables.
Fun place to hang out with friends. Bowling, darts or pool tables. Can be upgrade more better place and more clean.
Went here with friends yesterday and had lots of fun. Made a reservation earlier in the day so we got in right away at our slot. Everyone that works there were super friendly, will be back!
Good 5 pin bowling, no 10 pin though
Old school bowling atmosphere!
Bald asian guy with tattoos always has a attitude i get a hard time everytime i go here for no reason
Good place to play pool and darts , would not recommend bowling here ,drinks from outside not allowed , staff is good , you should go with coins
Got nothing to complain about, had a good night.
It's okay...quite pricey tho after 6pm for bowling and they also use the small mini bowling balls
Good atmosphere. Pool tables in good condition and good quality cues.
Bad bowling, good pool. Drink porch is lame
Classic old school experience in a run down space that hasn't changed in 50 years. Like most things 50 years old, not everything is pristine and works like it should but that's part of its charm. This place can be packed during peak times.
Fun space, but confusing method for getting shoes and a lane...and drink ticket method was ridiculous and overly complicated. Also, why was it so hard to get a receipt for drinks? Really dirty and bathrooms kind of gross. Needs a good deep cleaning.
Great pool tables, cozy place, however, the Asian employee in charge of the pool tables is not the best, I pulled my mask down just for 5 Seconds, it was enough for him to come and tell me and my friends that the next time he’ll kick us out!
An all around good time. Food selection could improve, but it's not like people go here for the food.
Very interesting old timey atmosphere, retro decor, old bowling equipment which is very entertaining. Some snacks (e.g. pizza slices) and drinks on offer. Good quality pool tables too and there's many of them. The only drawback is it's quite pricey.
Booked a lane for 9:15. Showed up minutes before, only to find the lane closed. As we stood out front confused, no less than three other groups showed up as well. And we had prepaid? Huh?
Lots of fun
Ben was the best!!!!!! ✌️✌️✌️
Great staff. Cool place. Reasonable price for billiards. (I don't bowl so no idea on the price) Overall a wholesome place to bring friends and family for fun time.
Used fake Covid guidelines to get you to pay more
(Translated) Mini bowling alley, Pokeball condition???? (Original) 미니 볼링장, 포켓볼 상태????
Great place for a date or a group. Lots of Lanes and many pool tables. Easy to grab a beer and drink between bowls. Atmosphere fits a bowling alley perfectly with Nick nacks and such over the walls. Priced appropriately for a place right dt on Granville.
Cool that it's on Granville right down town but annoying you can't take your drink thru the whole place only there lounge
Cheap beer and bowling - it is what it is!
the billiards is really good. about $11per hr.
very rude people
Only pool tables, no billiards in spite of the name. I didn't bowl so I can't comment on that. It is all underground with no elevator or wheelchair access. A veritable Vancouver institution.
They were great and helped us celebrate Grammas 100th birthday
Pure Canadian place
Cheap place to go bowling last minute. Can be quite crowded
I like bowling downtown
Old fashioned, well kept, friendly fun !
