One of the worst bowling alley's I've been to. Came on Christmas eve with my family and the man working was so rude to my entire family. When he was confronted about his attitude he didn't even apologize for it, instead he hid behind the counter until we left. The cost to bowl here is most definitely not worth it. Will not be back.

The staff are perhaps the rudest people on the face of the planet. And not just to adults, to children, as well. When asked for the management's contact information so as to lodge a complaint formally, I was told the direction of the door. Do yourselves a favour and head to Heritage Lanes if you are looking for some bowling action in Red Deer. zero stars if it was possible at all. almost as many f*@&*s

I like this place because it has 10 and 5 pin bowling. They have good deals and specials if you know what they are (may be on their website or inside the bowling alley) The owners can be known as stand off-ish or unfriendly but they are working hard and deal with a lot of crummy people throughout their many years of business. If you treat them with kindness and patience, it is always returned just not in a bubbly loving way (who wants a bubbly bowling clerk anyways??) The space is old and well used. Not sure how the food is, I have never ate there. I usually just go for one or 2 games and then get food somewhere else. Would recommend

The woman who hosted my group was excellent! She helped us choose between 5 and 10 pin, gave us a detailed orientation of how to pick a bowling ball, how to throw the ball, and how to adjust aim. She made us feel very welcome and comfortable. AMA discount. Glow bowling. No loud music. The computer glitched once so it needed to be quickly reset, so it missed counting score for one turn so she just bowled another time to get a score.

I went there with my family for a nice outing but the old battle axe that works there was downright rude. The prices are ridiculous and the food is horrible. If you want a good place to go bowling with great service, go to heritage lanes. The only redeeming quality there is that its got 10 pin bowling but other than that: don't waste your time.

Gave this place a chance regardless of ratings...bad choice. Avoid this place. The only nice thing about this place was the one nice lady who was very understanding of the situation we encountered. Whether or not the older gentleman was the owner/manager, he did not show COMMON SENSE when it came to approaching and dealing with customers. During our game of 10 pin, the bowling balls failed to return. We reported to the lady that it was not working and she went back to see the problem. After a few minutes, we noticed the balls started returning again and we assumed all was fixed. We proceeded to bowl again when all of a sudden, the older gentleman began yelling angrily at us not to bowl while one of his staff was back there. We immediately apologized not realizing we had to wait (we did not know how the their mechanism/process works and we were not warned before hand to fully wait). We continued to apologize but he was just furious and would not calm down yelling things like 'it's common sense! Are you stupid?' After awhile we started getting upset because he would not let up after we continued to apologize and he just continued at our throats. We were calm throughout most of it but just had enough once he called one of my friends stupid. The whole reason we were there was for a Birthday and he alone ruined the entire experience. If he wants to talk common sense, he has NONE when it comes to managing a business and dealing with customers. He also has anger management issues if he's like that with many of the customers. I tried giving a chance for my friend's sake but based on the reviews before I wrote mine I already realized right away who the others were talking about. If this place keeps running this way, I will not be surprised if it doesn't exist in the future. For those who have had great experiences, you are quite lucky....this place will continue to get bad reviews if the gentleman we encountered continues to do the same. You want common sense? Treat customers with respect...

OMG PLEASE READ was told by woman who qas working here6 to take my shoes off while using wash room. I then stepped in alot of urine whilst using washroom. She then said that bowl shows make u slip in wash room and your own shoes make the wash room floor dirty. After we all paid nine people she then demanded 2 more dollars as she made mistakes. Was about 20 mins trying to leave the place as she couldnt work out simple lane prices . Old fashoned bowling with strings. Urine on floor. Staff so horrible and rude. The 1st bowl alley full. So we came here. Never again. Socks full of urine. Only to be told that it wasnt reported. Wash rooms obiously never checked or kept clean.b

Nice little bowling alley to have a party at or just go to enjoy a few rounds of bowling, food and games available there too. They offer 5 pin and 10pin bowling options so what ever you prefer. In a off place but if your looking for bowling in your area head on over.

This place isn't as bad as everyone says. Yes it's an older facility and so are the staff, but we always go here because it's quieter. They have always been nice to us and as long as you are nice in return then there are no problems.

The glow bowling is still pretty lit up, the owner counts your drinks, and you have to remove your bowling shoes to go into the separate eating area. I might take my kids back, but wouldn't consider another cooperate event there.

We went for the first time last evening, the daily deals make the cost of bowling here even cheaper which it is already very reasonable. The staff were friendly and were very knowledgeable about technique and gave us some good tips. This place has a great jukebox going and has the classic bowling atmosphere. We didn’t eat or drink here but assume that those would be decent and what we would expect from a bowling alley. The option for 5 or 10 pin games is nice to be able to switch it up! Great experience, 10/10, would go again. Sometimes the pins stick, just press the reset button and get on with your game instead of whining about it, this place has been around for a long time.

They put us next to the wall since a we are a little rowdy. The jukebox skipped or hard songs which perteved us. The beer is a bitter pricey at 650 but it is from a can. The selection of drinks was weak. Shoes were comfy.

We went for a birthday.... When we booked we failed to mention that. There were signs all over the establishment "tell us if it's a birthday" we did so when we went to pay for our bowling. They said they cannot give the discount because we did not mention it at time of booking. Then the balls failed to come back up and they were rude to help us. It was not our fault. Then we went to purchase a beverage all of us were over 21. We had 2 Designated Drivers and the lady thought that I gave my ID to my sister. I had to prove we each had our proper ID. That was very unprofessional! To finish off the night we handed in our shoes they would not take them back until we untied the laces. Any other bowling alley we have attended we were not treated with such rudeness and disrespect. We will not be back our birthday party was unpleasant due to two of staff. We will drive to another town or city if Heritage Lanes is booked up. We will never return to Riverside bowl. They need better customer service.

This place was awesome! Classic bowling experience, black lights, music, snacks and drinks if you want. I was relieved when I saw it wasn’t packed with small kids & shoes everywhere like Heritage Lanes. Had a blast and would come back again!

If I could give this place a 0, I would. I will always support local as much as possible but I refuse to support a business owner who has that much disrespect for his patrons. He was watching us like a hawk the entire time we were bowling as if we had done something wrong and whenever we asked a question, he was snappy with us. Also, very overpriced! I have never paid so much money bowling before and we didn't buy anything drinks or anything extra. Very disappointed with our experience and will not be returning.

Old school bowling alley. Don’t come here for the ambience. I bowl regularly at Heritage Lanes, which is a modern entertainment centre. But I also like Riverside because I like bowling on wooden lanes, as opposed to the newer acrylic finish at Heritage. The owner is an old school bowler, pretty obviously an introvert, and likely has little patience for fools. His lanes are well kept and the place overall is well-maintained. Prices are on par with every bowling establishment I’ve been to in Alberta. The beer is cold. I just go there to bowl. I’m not looking for some earth-shattering entertainment experience. It’s bowling, after all.

Wow, I don't even know where to begin with this place. Zero stars would be more appropriate. I can't believe how rude these people were. They have zero customer service skills and I'm appalled at the way they treat people. The fact that they are still in business in red deer shocks and amazes me. Please, I encourage you to take your hard earned money to heritage lanes, or anywhere else for that matter. Do not support this awful establishment unless your looking to have a horid night where your belittled and disrespected.

After reading all the negative reviews, I was hesitant to take my nieces and nephews to Riverside Bowl. However, I was pleased to find that none of the negative comments applied to our visit there. The lady working the counter was friendly and helpful, the place was clean, and we had a great time there. The only downside was that the washrooms were under repair, but the lady at the counter warned us of that beforehand, so we could plan accordingly. Overall, a terrific experience, and I'm sure we'll be back.

NEGATIVE STARS! DO NOT GO HERE!!! All of the negative reviews are true. My 3 kids and I went there for a fun afternoon and found very quickly that the older man/owner was very rude. He was hesitant to change the sizes of my kids shoes after we had asked for a wrong size. I thought my son was stuck bowling in shoes that were 2 sizes too big!?! Then he watched us like a hawk every ball we bowled making sure we knew every time we lobbed the ball too much!!? Very uncomfortable and VERY dirty/run down. My kids were able to laugh at the situation but we all ran up the stairs and out of there as fast as we could after one EXPENSIVE game.

The floors were really cold. So bring slippers, sweaters if ur not bowling. Just glad the kids had fun cause thats what counts.

Will not come back. The place was empty. Our lane is so faulty. Would get a strike and then a pin would appear. Or pins would disappear on the second shot. What kind of bowling alley doesn't play music? And then they did it was quiet and instrumental. The older gentleman was rude. So incredibly overpriced. Go to heritage. Go to heritage, 6 people can bowl for an hour plus a pizza for half the price of 2 people bowling here with no pizza

Don't bother pre booking! After booking 3 days in advance we did not get what we booked. Arrived to be told the glow bowl isn't happening because of a tournament and only getting one lane when we booked two for 2 hours we ended up leaving an hour early. When confronting staff they were very rude and didn't even offer compensation for the screw up on their part.. never again.

It was so out of place for how any person should act (even more so if one is in customer service), that it became more interesting to observe his further interactions with customers than it was to bowl. We went there with our family, half the lanes didn't work ! Every time you knocked a pin down the entire game would set up all the pins but only count the points for the first ones you knock down. We had to move lanes numerous times half the lanes were broken. Then to top it off after all of that confusion we were charged full price and the staff told us it wasn't there fault for there broken lanes haha I would highly recommend never going here and save your money.
