This is the best barbershop in all of Toronto even tho it's in brampton. The barbers know what there doing plus the vibes of the shop when you come in is very warm . But for me what I don't like about it is that I had appointment last week showed up on time and the hairdresser that was there took someone else even tho I was supposed to go next . And she couldn't multi-task I waited for 1 hour but then some.guy came dropped of food and she had the nerve to ask if I can wait 30 more minutes to get my hair done so she can have lunch who does that aren't the customers always first I understand if she's hungry and all but I made appointment to come get my hair done and go I shouldn't have to wait a extra hour and thirty minutes also the lady in the front could of washed hair instead of just setting down strolling on Instagram on her phone

The first mistake they made was booking be close to another lady. I was at 3pm and she was at 2:30. they knew the appointment was booked close because it was in their system from Thursday. Jheanel took both of us on at the same time. SHE didnt introduce herself so I had to guess her name by asking her. She asked whos doing braids. that was me, so in the time i figured okay she finished the girl before me because shes asking me to come sit. She blew dry my hair out and then she stopped. I thought she was going to open up my hair packages. she starts doing her 2:30 hair appointment another lady that was siting next to me. I had no idea what was going on because she didnt bother to explain to me that she had to do another girl's hair. She started mine just to stop it and wash another girls hair. leaving me to feel less important. I sat and I waited because Jheanel said " soon come". i waited 3 hours then she grabbed my head and said ill be with you soon love ( another lie). Finally her 2:30 appointment was finished around 7:30pm. so my 3pm appointment was automatically moved hours later. I told her how I was going out tonight and I needed to be out before the mall closes. Jheanel told me great news you will be out of here before 9pm (another lie). We didnt finish till 10pm but I didnt leave till 10:40. I know that should be the end of the story.... Jheanel finally says im sorry and then says heres what I can do for you. I can give you a discount. first off this isnt a favour this is compensating me for my lost time. She told me the price was originally for my short single braided bob is 180 but she will drop it to 160. I am tired at this point because i have been there since 2:45. I said okay 160. I get to the counter another lady rings i n the price and says that will be 180. I said thats not correct because Jheanel already made it seem like she was giving me the 160 regardless she didnt even mention taxes. I said no ill pay 160. then they told me to LEAVE MY PHONE. I had to jump out of character and start yelling not cussing but yelling at them. the lady got security because i refused to leave my phone there while i run to the other side of the mall to get cash. Security had to explain to the lady that was working with Jheanel that you CANT TAKE customers PHONES. this is not in your policy so you shouldnt be doing it, this is what he said. Security walked with me and I made them hand her the money. I was DONE with the wicked games. they could careless about me all they care about is making quick cash off their customers. Even worst they have a 14 year old girl booking the appointments and using her to hold accountable for their mistakes. Two grown women saying a child shouldn't book it so close. the other lady saying let me go get her so you can yell at her instead. why would you use a child like that? SICK Just Sick the whole experience was a nightmare. Jheanel's words will never leave me. " I COULD of kept it the same price"

Have been going there for around over a year, used to get cut by the same barber because he was the friendliest. Recently, he was off for vacation or something so I decided to get cut by the other barbers but when my turn came after about 4 hours, they skipped me. When I tried to tell one of the barbers he semi-ignored me when I checked my number online I found out they updated that my cut was done when I confronted him bout it, he asked if Omar(the guy who usually cuts my hair) was my barber I said yea, he just walked away! I'm trying so hard not to cuss 'em out but yeah horrible place. P.S. - Don't waste your time there's much better places around the same area

PATHETHIC SERVICE! Been here a few times, they've got a number system for all their customers, which is a joke. On my last visit I waited an hour and half for my turn only to have 3 people being jumped the line by the staff. I walked out and went somewhere that actually appreciates my business.

If you agree, you are issued a number and asked to wait, if there are seats available or go browse around the Mall, until you are contacted by phone. I went browsing and never saw the time moved fast. I am happy with my hairstyle. Thanks again!????????????

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I went here with my mom today to pick up a few things. No one bothered to to say hello or even acknowledge us. While we stood at the counter WAITING, 2 of the workers who were sitting around socializing, didn’t even bother to come help us. I’m surprised they have managed to stay open with their terrible customer service and extremely sparse selection of products. Take your money to a business that deserves it, because this place certainly does not. I would give it 0 stars if possible.

From the first visit a few years ago my son will not go to any other barbers. I introduced my nephew who lives in Scarborough and he make his dad drives all the way to this Location to get his hair tailored the way he wants it. Of course we all have our personal favourites. They will wait however long it takes to get their favourite guy. The barbers are all great. They are friendly very happy and super talented. The carribean vibe there makes you fell very good. My son will have me wait endless hours to get his hair cut, but it is worth it to see the end result. WORST SERVICE AND STAFF EVER! I went in for a haircut and I have been a regular since months now. The ticket kiosk was broken so I went to the counter to grab my ticket. Got #6 and sat down to wait... waited 2.5 hours only to find people coming after me getting served. While I was waiting I got a thank you email from their system on my email saying that I had been served. I still waited thinking its a system fault. Number 8 was now served and as I stood up to take the seat .. the barber calls another person.. upon which I said that It has to be my turn now... to which he replies "I don't see your number on my screen" and just shurgged me off. Your customer shouldn't have to pay for your flawed system. And your staff needs to be trained on how to serve everybody the same way. NEVER COMING BACK !!

There is no doubt that the barbers are very good at what they do. I have been there twice and both times I was very satisfied with my hair cut. However, there needs to be some major improvements when it comes to wait times and general customer service skills. Today, I arrived at the shop and got a ticket at 11:48am and I was not served until after 2:00pm. My mom and I literally went to four different places in the mall during that time. That is a very long time to wait by anyone’s standards and it is simply unjustifiable. I will pay any amount of money for a hair cut of this quality but it’s not worth the wait time and I really hope they fix that.

Being from downtown your not used to the time and attention that Omar took on my hair. It literally was almost an hour of diligent work. He's an exceptional barber and the pricing is very reasonable. A comparable barber downtown is minimum $50 with Tip. A men's cut for me was $25 here. Regardless Cut Quality 9/10 (first time with my hair). Fade (10/10) - Incredible fading job. Service (8/10) - slow as Omar takes his time to ensure quality cuts but there have a registration system that places you in a line. Do it in advance and you shouldn't have a problem getting your slot filled on time. Would highly recommend Omar at New York North.

The barbers do a fairly good job , but their attitude needs a lot of improvement. The wait is extremely long, and the barbers move very slowly, no respect for customers time. The female hair dressers do a good job but again, their attitudes leaves alot to be desired, with only a couple exceptions that more personable.

Reason of rate 1 star is the lack of customer service and their arrogance to know they have many clients waiting. Their check-in system is a joke because you see many pleople ahead of you getting haircut but numbers dont match. Alphonso was the nicest guy there but weird he is still on vacation. Price went way high and service is still poor. Don't take me wrong both non friendly barbers know their cuts but they are way friendly only with Jamaicans and I have the feeling they are not open minded ????????????. If I found another place with good cut skills I definitely will go away from this place. Hygiene is below 0 if you care about it too.

I have been coming to this barbar shop for the last eight (8) years and i have to say the service is outstanding. These barber's are top of the line they are the best i've came across in the industry, whatever design,cuts,style etc you are looking for they are able to hook you up. The staffing behind the counter have excellent customer services skills and they are willing to advise and assist you in the best possible way. The automated ticket system allows the customer to print a ticket and at the same time select the barbar that will cut you, with this system you're able to print a ticket and go take care of other things (you don't have to sit and wait) without loosing your priority in line.. Excellent barber shop...????

So this location has great barbers. Omar is my favourite. One thing I appreciate about his style is his ability to satisfy the customers demand or desire. The location is great because it is close by to my residence and is convient for shopping since it is located in the mall. The staff is great and courteous, plus friendly and engaging of the customer has any concerns.

Second time here with my 8 year old son. Both times we were made to feel like he has some kind of alien hair. He has thick curly coily hair, that is his natural curl pattern. If you need your child's hair shaved off, I guess they'd be good, anything that requires a little bit more effort, they'll make you feel uncomfortable and they'll complain till the end with everyone staring at you. The wait time is always too long and he charged my son as a teenager, I guess because it was't the regular "shave it all off" Not going back, I'm all for supporting black businesses, my advise to them, you all need to be a little bit more professional when dealing with client's hair especially children.

Let me start off by saying I came here because my friend told me it was "the best for mixed hair". So I'll explain the whole appointment from start to finish My appointment is at 4, I come in at 3:50. A lovely lady said that the person doing my hair would be ready shortly. She was sitting in a chair fussing with her own hair. I think "I'm early, it's okay". She calls me over around 4:10 and asks what I want to do. A small afro cut and a dye. My hair was shoulder length and in a knotty ponytail so I suggest she washes it to make it manageable. She doesn't wash it and proceeds to take through it until my hair was completely pulled straight. No questions asked about how it is regularly. I give her the benefit of a doubt because I'm in an afro-centric salon that she can cut an afro for me because I've worn one many times before. She cuts it into a punk 70's straight hair fro... Now, I understand that today my hair was pulled into a semi wavy ponytail and that my curls were stretched out, but never have I ever seen a person of color cut another's hair without asking how one usually cuts/styles their hair. At this point everything is uneven but I still have a dye to do so maybe she'll catch it. And she did catch her error (The only reason why I'm giving 2 stars at all was that it was salvageable). With nearly a whole inch taken off afterwards as she evened the cut out. She then asked where I wanted my hair parted and she loaded my hair up with product (which I laughed off).... I asked for a mini fro, no part was necessary. She rubbed a towel in my hair to remove the overload and put me under a dryer. My hair is slightly shorter than I wanted it and I got charged 170 after *discounts* for a female cut and a full head dye. My hair is about 3-4 inches from maybe 12 and it took 3 hours to get it that way. I would never recommend this place to anyone off of my experience but to each their own. I wished that the stylist told me that she was in over her head or that she didn't have a lot of experience with hair like mine.

I went there July 1 2018. First of all my appointment was 11am but the hair stylist Jennifer should up at 11.50 no apologies or nothing. that aside she is not too friendly . I got there with my hair super short as it is. She texturied my hair and put 3 tracks on the top. A bit trim here and there she did not even use the machine to trim my hair. When she was done she charged me $193.00 mind you I called prior to my appointmen and told her what I wanted done and she said $120.00 which would have been reasonable. I had the worst experience there I just paid the money and walked out on top of that she was expecting a tip. Don't ever go there Jennifer the stylist is a big thief don't .dont Waist you time or money. The men are more polite and professional than the lady!!!!

I brought my 3 year old son in here today to get a haircut. Let me mention that we are white. It shouldn’t matter. There were only 6 people ahead of us, yet it would be a THREE hour wait. One woman told me she was there for nearly 4 hours waiting! Why so slow? My sons regular barber takes 15 mins to do his hair. I’ll never go back here.

Customer service is not observed. The guys are good at what they do, but do not have customer service. A barber stopping in the middle of a cut to take a phone call is an absolute no no. This is probably due to lack of competition. Place has a lot of potential but they just lost a potential customer because of lack of customer service. Lady (general) at the front seemingly calling the shots is rude.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Disaster from start to finish. I’m never going back to this salon again. You want to support black businesses but when they treat you like this, it’s a disgrace. I booked my appointment time for 10:30, when I get there, they tell me it’s 11:30 (I know what she told me on the phone, but I didn’t want to argue, so I came back for 11:30). Even then I get there, she didn’t start me until 1145. I wanted to get crochet with straight hair. When I first called, I asked if they did that. The receptionist said they can but when I got there and the stylist Jennifer started working on my hair, she admitted that she doesn’t do it often. I asked for an invisible part. She did not that at all, she started doing knots and when I pointed out that it wasn’t invisible, she said she was busy and didn’t have the time to do it. While doing me, she left me for 30 min to work on someone else’s hair who came in to get her tracks tightened. She also had to leave me to go back and forth to answer the phone as the receptionist had to leave to drop her son to a party. All she did was blow dry and comb the hair after. She didn’t style it or customize it to my face. I shouldn’t have to go home after and work on my hair myself. The quality of work was not professional. I do a better crochet hair myself. I wanted it done for a wedding and for it to look nice, but it looks amature. And the worse part is that they charged me more than what we agreed to. Such an unprofessional place. Never going back.

Extremely slow! They take forever when doing haircuts and seem to let friends and or family bump ahead even with their so called number/ stamp system. I will say they do fairly decent fades but between the time waits and extreme unprofessionalism I would not waste your time and go. My previous visit was on a Saturday with literally no one ahead of me yet I ended up waiting over 2 hours to get a cut. Had to deal with a certain drunk customer express vulgar statements and touch other clients before they finally decided to kick the customer out. When getting the haircut, half the time the barber was one his phone, not paying attention whatsoever. I will never go back! For the high prices and the not so clean atmosphere I’ll do myself the favour and choose anywhere else but this place!

My 1st visit to New York North beauty & barber shop for a haircut, I'm extremely satisfied with my full haircut. The staff very friendly, courteous, welcoming atmosphere. Too expensive and the barbers take so so long to finish with one person because they talk to each other a lot. And the girls who did my was the worst. I always pay $65 for the same hair end up paying $ 120 for the same hair and when I asked her she said that was for being gentle with my hair because is natural ????????this is ridiculous

LOVE this place I go here for my daughters hair products I get great advice for treamments and uses of products . I had recently came to get my 2 year olds hair trimmed . I was very sceptical as she is two and gives me a hard time . But to my surprise she was having fun with the lovely lady she was super gental and patient . My daughter didn't cry or fuss once is was a pleasurable experience I will be going here instead of trying to cut her hair myself . Everyone in there offers advice and lives by what they say instead of shooting the S*** anyways this is the place to go for wonderful customers hair care for ANYONE !!

Service was basic no one greets you.. you have to greet yourself... The ladies aren't friendly. Went there over the weekend had a full lace wig installed and took it out the next day as the hair dresser that has "been in the business for 17yrs" did not install the wig correctly!! ... Paid over $100 for nothing. I recommend if you haven't been there before DO NOT GO!!! STAY AWAY!! Their only out to get your money the ladies do not care about of your hair. NOT WORTH THE TIME OR MONEY GOING THERE!!!!! I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO PAY $100 FOR A SERVICE THAT'S ONLY GOOD FOR 24HOURS!! ...100% THIS SALON TRULY DESERVES ZERO STARS!!
