Wow.. I don’t know where to start. I’ve been coming here since 2017 fall and I accidentally stumbled upon this barber shop in search for a memory I had when I was child passing by on a bus. What I’ll say about Castries is that with time I’ve come to equate it in my mind like a doctors visit. Literally these artists have you coming in listening to your story and have you walking out with belief that you’re going to own the day! The entire delivery of their work that they pack in a simple hour has got me coming back for more every two weeks. Long are the days of the $5 haircut!! Quick synopsis: Steve was the first barber, the OG, he keeps it real and it comes off in the style of his cut. Everyone has respect for him; from the barbers to the clients. He was my first barber and introduced me to a barber named Danny who has become a true mentor and friend in my life. His skills are unbelievable the way he’s so precise with the blade, it’s like watching an artisan from Venus sculpt Antonio Canova, Perseus with the Head of Medusa casting away the snake like mess on my head. These guys are serious; everyone has a speciality and you can’t go wrong. Make sure to have an open mind and the cut you thought you wanted will definitely be topped with these visionaries eye for detail. Much love and respect Steve and Danny!! Oh and they got a musician name Master Frank! This guy will wow you with his poetry, musical instruments, knowledge of life, mastery of sport and love for humanity! Don’t doubt coming in, just watch these masters at work!

The prices have gone up a bit but the place got a major overhaul. Same great staff, new chairs and equipment. You wait for a bit for your turn but that is because they take time and do not rush. Castries keeps me looking fresh and I appreciate them and hope they are around for a long time because they are the best in the biz.

Great haircut every time and very friendly. They have clearly made some efforts to comply with new requirements due to Covid-19. The barbers all wore masks and clients were asked to do the same (though some didn’t seem keen on complying). They also sanitized the seat after each cut, provided hand sanitizer to clients and used fresh equipment. Capacity limits apply though (only two clients at a time and walk ins were kindly asked to wait outside on a bench) so best to make an appointment. I really hope they invest in an online booking system for appointments and in touch less credit card machines (still take cash only).

that old saying you get what you pay for. I have been here multiple times and every time they get it the hair cut right. not too pricy staff very friendly. I would go on a weekday afternoon if you don't like waiting.
