I have had a coupon haircuts here at the Corktown and GPP locations. They were ok. Not great but passable. This time I booked an appointment at the GPP location and arrived a few minutes ahead of my appointment only to be told they were short staffed and could get me in. Nice way to waste my time. I’ll not be returning to this unprofessional business. I’ll take my business elsewhere to a company that understands how appointments work.

I paid for the "executive" cut, a bit more expensive than I'm used to paying, but worth every dollar. One of the best cuts I've ever gotten! I've gone twice now, the first guy Chuck and the second guy Dave were incredible.

Came to the shop when I was dissatisfied with my then barber. Walked in and Mercedes was not busy so she cut my hair. I knew it would take more than one cut to get what I wanted. We worked together, and the third time she nailed it. The next cut was the same. I can't see going anywhere else for a cut.

Best cut I've had in a long time. Ask for Mercedes. She was a pleasure to talk to and did a phenomenal job. I purchased a cut and a beard trim. Not the cheapest haircut but in this case, you get what you pay for. I was complimented on my haircut multiple times. I will most deffinately return. Plus the classic barber shop decor and retroDetroit decor is great.

Went for a quick trim, short back and sides number 2, scissor cut on top. Well executed, very friendly barber. Place seemed very clean and was well ventilated and very spaced out. I've heard the attached coffee shop is good, but have not yet tried it. Will be returning!

Us Grosse Pointe residents such as myself have been waiting for this establishment open for a while. there isnt enough cool places like this in the area so me and my family are very happy to see this open. im real excited for the coffee shop to open, as well. All the barbers know what theyre doing and always lower my ears to satisfaction. Yes, i will be returning as soon as my hairs need a trim.

I absolutely loved everything about experience, from the quality of music, the fresh clean smell, the diversity of barbers and last but not least the quality of service. This is not my first time at DBC in GP. I have been happy in the past. This time again I asked for my hair to be shortened above the ears and my beard trimmed. I was never once shown a mirror by the barber or asked anything additional. I ended up with a buzz cut slightly longer than BALD. Looks absolutely ridiculous. Not much you can do once it’s done. I won’t be back for a long time and maybe never. Certainly will not recommend it. The good thing is he charged me for a buzz cut and not the haircut I really wanted. UPDATE: Didn’t think it was my fault that I was seated with my back to the mirror, never turned around or offered a hand mirror and never asked if a buzz cut was what I wanted vs. the haircut I booked. Wouldn’t a new barber clarify what he was planning and verify in the mirror during the process. UPDATE 2: I increased my rating to 4 stars because of the personalized customer service I received today. My cut is still extreme (-1 star) but I was made to feel my issue was recognized and addressed in a professional and courteous manner. I will be back to try again.

I'm very fortunate to be writing this review for Dave, who is a barber at the GPP location. The first time I came in I got the executive cut and dave did a very excellent job, asking me specifically what I wanted and complemented what visuals I had for my hair with his expertise on how my hair would fall (e.g. whether it would look as good as i thought, etc.). The result was probably the best cut I've ever had. The second time, I got the standard cut, and told Dave again what I had been looking for; and gave him more freedom to make it the way he envisioned it, and it looked even better. I am a guy with wavy, medium-length hair. Great conversationalist as well, can't say enough about the cleanliness of the place as well as the kind manners by everyone at the establishment from the moment you walk in the door.
