Bearded folk beware. Maybe this place is OK as a hair salon (my haircut was alright) but kindly don't advertise your services as a barber if you can't shave a neckline straight, if you can't match both sides of a face even after it's been pointed out to you, and if you have no idea how to shape a beard. I'm not that fussy, but this was way off the mark. In the end, I just agreed it looked fine because I couldn't believe she thought it was done.

My first experience was with PJ and it was very good. He is very professional. The haircut and beard trim looked sharp too. My second experience was with Pedro, and he was just as good. He is an aspiring hip hop artist. I am not sure how good he is with rhymes, but I do know that he is stellar at giving a sharp, clean looking haircut. He is friendly and polite. I would recommend this barbershop Update: most recent haircut was great! PJ even trimmed my beard at no extra cost! I’ve been four times total now, and each time was a great quality hair cut and style at a reasonable rate

Very bad customer service. I had the time to go two days before making an appointment and I arrived 10 minutes before and I await my appointment. A client arrives without an appointment 5 minutes before my appointment and they attend first before me. What is the point of making an appointment at this barbershop? I tell the barber and he tells me that I'm overreacting. And the only answer that I had was is 2 minutes left for your appointment. The other barber finishes another client and serves you. And you could see that the he just was starting the hair cut of the customer. They don’t respect the time of the people. Bad.

I am a fan. Great haircuts, without pretence, for less than half the price my previous stylist was charging me. I have to admit I was terrified the first time they pulled out the electric clippers, but the result was a haircut that earned compliments. Plus I'm out of there in half the time it used to take. Highly recommended. Just an update. I've stopped going to this shop. I got a great haircut from one of his staff, so I asked for him again. The owner got quite upset that I preferred the other staff member over him, especially when I told him I'd wait for an appointment with the staff member. He gave me some song and dance story that the other guy was on holiday for two weeks. I still said I'd wait. When I called back in a couple of weeks I still got the runaround. Apparently he'd fired the guy (jealous?) but he wouldn't be straight with me. The owner seemed to be acting in a very petty, impudent manner, which left a bad taste in my mouth, so I've never been back again. I'm not changing my original review or star rating, but. . . .

PJ is one of my favorite contemporary hair artists. A perfectionist...genuine, mystical and charming. He has been my first choice for the last ten years. At the beginning I didn’t understand the importance of such meticulous styling techniques- until I witnessed how because of this, my hair maintains its flow and shape even if I go a few months between cuts! PJ always starts his visits with “what are we going to do to your hair today?” - I only answer "do what you think is best!” My hair always turns out perfectly: there is nobody else I would entrust with my hair other than this talented professional

Booked an appointment here over the phone, and got my haircut done by Pedro. (Mens Haircut, your standard Medium Fade with Short on top.) Appointment started on time, Pedro took the time to clean and sanitize everything before my cut. Pedro was kind, knowledgeable (in the sense he recommended things), and took his time for attention to detail. Cut took just under an hour, which is perfect, cause even though its a simple mens haircut, I could see he was not rushed and cared about the details. Price was more than fair for Vancouver standards, will definitely be going back. :D

I won't go anywhere else. Tonsurephobia is the fear of getting a haircut. You won't need to worry about that at the Modern Man Barber Shop. I've had the pleasure of getting my hair cut by Karima for each of my visits. She always checks in to make sure everything is going as planned during each cut and even does a neck clean up free of charge if you're in the neighbourhood. How can you go wrong with that? I had a bit if time today to get an impromptu haircut. Googled this place and read the great reviews. Perhaps I visited on an odd day as this was not a barber shop. Thr gentleman that greeted me was working on two women's hair when I walked in. The lovely woman that cut my hair did a good job but was mute the entire time. I fell asleep twice from boredom. If i try this place again and they show me a different more barber esq experience, I'll happily update my review.

I work backstage in theatre. I recently picked up a gig where I have to appear onstage so I was asked to get a haircut. Nothing fancy, just shortish on the sides and I was allowed to keep some length on top. I provided photos and the barber said "I can make it look better than that." I believed him at the time, but then he gave me a military cut..... No second thought, he just grabbed the electric razor and went to town. I understand that the regular guy was sick, but this is unacceptable. I will NOT be returning.

I had been putting off getting my haircut for way too long, which is usually the case as I find it somewhat of a chore. They never get it right. I called the Modern Man Barber shop earlier in the day after finding it quite close to where I live and reading the good reviews here on Google. The nice lady who answered the phone offred me an appointment at 6:30 as they were booked at 5:30, which was what I asked for. When I arrived I was greeted warmly and I could tell right away that this was a man of style. They were playing some good music so waiting a couple minutes for my turn was no problem. I was not dissappointed, he knew exactly what I wanted and was quick and efficient. He even cleaned up the edges with the straight razor, which I always like, and gave me the hot towel treatment once he was done. A great haircut, at a good price, "all day haircuts, all day conversation!". I've found my guy. Thank you.

Guy in suit, absolutely worst. I'm easy going and don't expect much. I felt as though this was his first day cutting hair. All i expect is someone with confidence and knows what they are doing. making comments like "i have to quit cutting myself all the time" is disturbing , disgusting.
