Has to be the worst barber shop ever! The barber that cut my hair was so drunk and completely mocking me and other guests. It's even more sad that there employees have to put up with there boss in this state. Please do not bring your kids there. A drunk barber and scissors can be very unpleasant.

Last time I ever set foot in there. I asked for a low-fade, a trim around the ears and not to touch the top. I even showed several photos. What I walked out with was if Justin Bieber and Vanilla Ice had a love child. He touched the top, buzzed the entire sides with a #1 and no fade to speak of. I only went there again because I liked the staff. I figured if I showed a photo that this time it would turn out okay. Im going to go to another place tomorrow to fix it. Junk hair cut. DO NOT GO HERE.

Some quick notes: It's cash only and the price menu is probably outdated. I am a student and the hair cut costs me 21 dollar before tipping. In the Barber shop, photos of the owner previous work and clients are hung on the wall. It's no doubt the owner, Sam, is experienced and professional, and so are his co-workers. I have been there twice and I was satisfied with both of those visits. Sam would offer advice based on my head shape and hair condition. I used to have spike growing at left back corner of my head few days after I got my haircut. By taking Sam's advice, the spike has been gone for two months (hope it would never come back). Anyway, Sam is skillful barber and their service worth the price.

Hair was cut way too short then tried to blame it on non-related reasons "it's because you havent gotten a haircut in so long" Um, doesn't that just make it EASIER to not cut it too short? anyway, pretty rookie mistake. Also assumes leftovers are tips/ did not give change back(is this even legal?) even though we were CLEARLY unhappy about the result. However, I brought my dog inside which was not a problem. Also saw a guy have his hair slightly fixed by a male barber and it looked really good.

Updating my review: after a few haircuts, the barbers seemed to have lost interest in giving good haircuts. Half-hearted shoddy haircuts is what I got for a long time and I stopped going. Initial review: There are very few barber shops where you find your hairdresser fully involved, and concerned about making you look good. This is certainly one of those shops. Very relaxed atmosphere, and the staff very friendly and chatty. This quality of service at this price is a steal!

Perfect. I've learned to not be picky by overpaying at Barber shop's and getting only a shadow of what I want. I moved here recently and I told Sam what I was looking for today and it was 100% exactly what I had in mind. They could charge much more for this. It's the first time I've been happy with a cut since I've been an adult and it's much cheaper. This place is a classic and you can see why as soon as you visit. 5/5 for the shop and 6/5 for Sam. Sam, Julie, Rod, Anna and Company are the absolute best. They have all cut my hair and have done a fantastic job. It's the definition of a neighbourhood spot. They know everyone's names and every time I go I meet someone who has been visiting these guys for 10+ years. If you like peace and quiet this isn't the spot for you. They do a great job, but they love to have fun and give each other and their customers a hard time ( all in good fun). Every time I leave my sides hurt from all the laughing. I definitely recommend checking them out. It won't matter who cuts your hair I can guarantee they will do an amazing job. I won't be going anywhere else unless I move across the country and even still I maybe making monthly trips back just to visit them.

Sam first cut my hair in 2003.... I randomly walked in when I moved to Vancouver. 15 years later I’m still getting fresh cuts from Sam... Although I’ll wait an hour for Sam , like everyone else, Rod, Julie and Anna are very talented , friendly and create a great environment. Besides the stellar hair cut I always get from Sam, the fun and laughs that Sam and his Brother Rod have always sends me away with a big smile on my face.. If you’re good to the them they are GREAT to you.. best pricing in the city. If you want a great cut finished off with old school razor on the edges, you won’t be disappointed. Went in expecting a straight forward, cheap haircut ($17 for students as advertised outside.) As I sat down to explain what I wanted, the lady already starting pulling out the electric razor. I told her I wasn’t sure if wanted a shave. I started to explain what I was thinking and she cut me off with a “I know, I know. I’ll show you.” and started shaving the side of my head off! When I told her that was already shorter than I wanted, she blamed it on my hair saying that shaving was the only option since “it goes everywhere and is unmanageable.” She then used the scissors very haphazardly on top, cutting way too much way too confidently. I really did not feel heard as a customer - please take time to listen well to what your customers want! After all of that I was charged $21, not the advertised price, due to a sign they put on the wall somewhere hidden. Cash only, as I found out after. No sign. I’ll go somewhere they are not afraid of my hair type next time.

Going to get a haircut is a very important thing because your hair is half your look. You cannot look good without having good hair. That is why I have been coming here my whole life. Every single member of the staff is very welcoming, funny, and amazing at what they do. They take extra time to listen to what you want and they do a fantastic job; the end result is always satisfying. My father brought me here for my first haircut when I was 2 years old (yes, you read that right). Not only does my entire family come here, but my friends from university come here as well. The prices are GREAT! You will be astounded at the quality you get for what you pay for. I especially encourage university and college students to come here for haircuts. Ultimately, you can't go wrong with Broadway Barbers. There is a reason they are very well respected along that West Broadway corridor. I highly recommend this place to everyone!

I’ve been a customer here for around 7 years since I’ve moved to Vancouver. A friend recommended to me Sams shop for his quality haircuts at a decent price. Since then i haven’t visited any other shop. A truly classic barber shop for its environment and the ambiance. The worst barber shop in existence trust me. The workers are very unfriendly and very rude. The pricing is very high if you are not a local person. I absolutely hated the experience. The barber does not even bother listening to you and mocks you at times. This barber shop should not even exist. An utter disgrace for a shop. Unfortunately I had to come here for convenience reasons. The barbers are inattentive and will be distracted by socializing with their coworkers, literally halting your cut while they chat. Not only this, the woman who did my hair didn’t even listen to my instructions. I asked for a natural on my back and side, I got a trimmed lawn look instead. Generally sloppy work.

Hello people i wanted a hair cut and beard shave but she has given me a rush cut and did not listen for what i want. She seemed rushing to make money, not care for my hair. In my opinion i had the feeling/experiance, that the asian people here only care for money.........and the razor machine she used is hurting my skin too. Was the only one waiting and a lady showed up with her kid after me. The male barber finished with his client and the female barber just after, and the lady and her kid went with the male barber. I said I was gonna go with the guy but they said I would have to go after, even though I was there first. A little common sense would go a long way.

I've been going to see Sam at Broadway Barbers since I was 5 years old...it's now been over 20 years that my Dad, brother and I have been going! He's always consistent with his cuts and always has entertaining stories. Gotta say I look forward to my cuts! Been living in Ontario and now China but always make a visit to Sam's as soon as I'm home. I even have photos of how he cuts my hair to show other barbers when I'm not in Vancouver.
