This has to be one of the worst barber shops I have been in. I have no problem with cash only purchases but when I go to a barber, especially one that's a little more expensive than my usual barber, I expect them to use a pair of scissors at least once. I went in for a trim because I couldn't make it to my normal barber and 5 minutes later I was leaving because the "barber" used nothing but the razor machine and the haircut looked horrible. I will never be returning to this location.

Awesome place and awesome staff. After spending years in the military and moving to Sudbury I was worried I wouldn't find a decent shop in the area. Happy to say I found what I was looking for. They really take their time to get it right and make sure you are satisfied. Highly recommended for all men who are looking for a hair cut or beard trim.

I've been here a couple times and I have to say it's a pleasant experience. Love the music and the vibe in here. The prices are amazing by the way. I always shaved my own head and cut my own beard but for what they charge... Well worth it. I respect the cash only thing they got going on, feels more authentic. The only thing is, one of the barbers I got did not do the best job. I've had 5 of them and I didn't like 1 of my cuts. They didn't butcher it but they could have payed more attention and given me a better finished product. It was still a good cut, the best barber in my opinion is the youngest male. A good authentic experience, makes you feel like a boss after getting a beard and hair cut. Recommended for the rebellious souls and men with beards of old.

Waited over an hour for a hot towel shave only for them to tell me once I finally sat down that they were not able to do me because their towel machine was off. I had already been a regular here for hot towel shaves so it would have at least been courtesy to tell me beforehand. I have also been knicked/bled a few times in the past due to rush. Owner is an honest, decent guy & the team gives solid, handsome cuts but since they have wasted my time, a loyal customer's time this is the review that they deserve. I don't think I will want to come back mostly to not have my time wasted again.

I used to be a regular at hemlock barbers, I followed Brad from when he worked at first choice. He was very rude to me on many occasions. He also regularly cut my hair much shorter than I asked him to, saying that he liked it better that way. The haircuts definitely aren't worth the money and the personal attacks.

While talking to him I mentioned that I like making music as a hobby and he started making fun of me for it . One side of my haircut was longer than the other. DONT GO HERE

Brad just can't cut hair. He's also incredibly rude as well as crude. I had some decent enough cuts there by the ladies, especially considering the price when they first opened. But with their new and higher rates, it's just not worth it. And I would never get a cut from Brad again, even if it was free. I literally had to go to another Barber to have it fixed.

Not impressed. Sign said "civic holiday closed" but I guess they meant they're closed the entire weekend?? I showed up at 11:45 and waited until 12:10 before giving up. No indication that they're closed all weekend on facebook, and nothing when you call their business line to indicate whether they're open or not...just the vague sign which I posted an image for you to decide what exactly it means. Wasted a trip to New Sudbury.

The owner was nice, but i dont think he realized that he made a mistake... as you can see in the pictures the left side of my haircut is not blended in. 30$ for a haircut also seems expensive... I’m from down south and the most I’ve ever had to pay for a haircut is 20$ Edit: I actually got an amazing haircut for 17$ where I’m from. The fade was one of the cleanest that I’ve ever had and i showed the barber the review, the reply and the cut that i had gotten and he laughed so hard he had to stop for a few minutes

By far the worst haircut I have had. Would never recommend the shop. Wait times are horrendous, atmosphere is not welcoming, and the haircut was terrible 0/5 no questions asked. Takes a lot for me to actually post this as a business owner myself, but I was shocked at this place. Will not be returning or suggesting to anyone.

Good cuts. Terrible hours and not open on the weekend or Friday. Doesn't even open until 12pm during the week and isn't even open for a full 8 hours during any day of the week. When I actually have time to get my haircut they aren't open. Planned to go after work today (Friday) and lo and behold, they're closed all day for some ridiculous reason. Amazing. Sure it's privately owned and they can be open as little as they want, but at this point I'm gonna be taking my business elsewhere.

I have never in the past posted publicly about a company or a local business. However both the ignorance and lack of professionalism from the owner had me dumbfounded. I was kicked out of the establishment for expressing to the owner that he had cut my beard shorter than I expected. He told me "you are pissing me off already" and that "we are done". I had meant no offence. Not to mention the guy smells of crappy weed on top of it.

Brutal cut. Dude who cut me was very nice but you could tell he did not know what he was s doing. Failed miserably at doing a fade and pulled off the worst lineup I've ever seen from a professional. Owner checked it over and said it looked good. First and last time I will go here. For the money you would think they would take some pride in their work.

Update: January 7, 2019 - I see two weeks ago, the owner has finally decided to reply to my 7 month old review with a weak statement referring to my account as "awkwardly one sided" without having an alternative sequence of events to offer up. The fact that he still feels justified in physically assaulting a customer tells you all you need to know about this unstable weirdo. My review below is far more dignified than this place is even worthy of and I can't believe I ever gave my business to such an amateurish operation, one that would rather posture online than show genuine regret and remorse for grossly unacceptable behaviour. Grow up. Original review - June 28, 2018: It hurts me to leave this review as I had my first experience here a few months after the place opened and loved it. I had been returning to Mimi without issue and had been enjoying the place to the point I had recommended it locally and even bought gifts for others there. That all changed yesterday when I went in for a cut and was out of nowhere verbally and physically attacked by the owner Brad. He lashed out at me for having accused him of not being able to cut hair when I had visited the barber shop a couple of months prior - this makes no sense given that 1. he had never actually been the one to cut my hair before and 2. I was returning yesterday to get my hair cut AT THEIR SHOP. Upon disputing his baseless claims, he yelled at me to get out before running up on me and putting his hands on me to push me into their closet as I was on my way out the door. Upon exiting the store in shock, Brad walked out and approached me as I was entering my car. He had softened his stance and took on an apologetic tone and because I was still rattled, I expressed my disbelief at what had just happened and he was quick to put his hand out for me to shake, express to me that he was sorry, and asked me to return the next day for a hair cut on the house. When my wife expressed that she had heard of others who had similarly bad customer service experiences there, this instantly set Brad off and he withdrew his apology, haircut offer, and went back into the store wildly cussing me and my wife. Probably the most bafflingly bizarre customer service I have ever had to endure. I realize some people will feel I did something to deserve this but I can assure you, I am not the type to invite confrontation and it really upset me that the owner decided to take an enjoyable experience away from me for no reason after being a loyal regular for about a year. I never feel compelled to leave public reviews and prior to yesterday, this place would have gotten 5 stars from me - but if Brad is capable of this level of unpredictability, I feel a responsibility to let people know that he has the potential to rage at the drop of a hat and physically attack you if he so chooses. Makes me very sad as the staff is extremely capable. I should have called the police but in the moment, Brad came across to me as someone who may be unwell and I have no interest in destroying the man or his business...but if you do choose to enter, I find it necessary to inform others that he has now set a precedent of initiating physical confrontation without any provocation whatsoever. Good luck to everyone and I hope no one else has to experience something similar from this point forward.
