Today, I feel sad. Rendezvous barber is overall wonderful, and I know everyone seems to love it as well. I'd like to share something, and in detail as a fair review. Apologies in advance to the readers that it is a long review. I rather leave positive reviews, however after thinking about it for some time, and after cooling down, i still wish to share this. Ben is no longer working there, so I chose Sam. The reason I chose to have my hair cut with him is, because he has long hair. I grew out my hair since last year, and kept the ends trimmed as the months went by. Today upon arriving, i explained that i would like to keep the length on top, and the sides mainly, however to have the lower parts around the ears, and neck shorter/ cleaned up. Sam said it would be easier with a photo, so i said okay sure, and showed him two of the same person. I described again with my hands where i would like the focus of the cleanup today, and nothing else. He put on a number 4 clipper, and cut it to show me just above the ear. Already it felt short, however I said okay (cause he chopped it already), but asked to keep everything above it long please. Once he did the very bottom with clippers, he started blending with scissors. Here is where everything came off. My hair on the "upper" sides and back is maybe just about finger length now ????. Finger length? I told him in all honesty that i would have liked it to stay long as mentioned, but it's fine, and I'll grow it out again. He didn't say anything...nothing. So he continues, and then kept blending with scissors until it got shorter, and shorter. We moved to the top, and asked him to trim the ends, however only on a slight slant. He started trimming with the scissor blades almost parallel with the shaft of the hair, which is his technique, and I understand, however this was cutting off length, and similar to using thinning shears. He didn't even hold the hair with his fingers, just with the comb. So I explained to him if he could please cut it on the other angle. He said that in the 15 years he has been cutting hair, people only get the ends staggered like that to spike it. I said okay np, however that's how I would like it, plllease. He did it, and asked if it was okay. I said perfect! (Finally). When he was cleaning up around with the outliner, then he brought the forehead hairline in, without asking. I moved my head and said no it's okay I'll take care of everything else around there. He then told me that I'm lining up incorrectly on my own, which i appreciate the feedback, however at this point I'm feeling really uncomfortable, and my body felt sweaty. Again pushing for his way. Then, he took a blow dryer with high heat, and started drying my hair when it wasn't wet or damp, plus again, without asking me. I said it's okay i don't need it styled or dried, and he said he wanted to see the shape. He continued to roll the hair with a brush, and blow dry it until my skin felt sooo hot. The issue here was that Sam did everything he wanted his way, and didn't listen to what i wanted. Why? I worked so hard to grow it out, to take care of it, and he just chopped it off. Never apologized, still charged full price, and tried to have me out of the door. I was so nice to him the entire time, and still he acted like I was someone who was being annoying, or hasn't been there several times (even though I told him how much I love it there while trying to create a relationship as his new client.) Sam has an amazing skill set, and it could have turned out amazing, "for me". Not him. I really liked going to Rendezvous, however this has ruined it for me...bummer. Unfortunate to experience someone doing something so personal for you, and not listening to how your preference is several times during the single session, then telling me how it should be. At the end of the day it wasn't a big ask to do it how i like it best. If my hair was kind of short already, it wouldn't have been a big deal, cause either way it's going to grow back...but this was so long though and now it's gone. Poo.

I am pleased that I can say I have no regrets paying RendezVous Barbers a visit. My first time here. I walked in, apparently didn't need a reservation. I was pleasantly greeted and asked to take a seat while I wait. I didn't wait long, maybe 10/15 minutes. Very reasonable. The gentleman with the really long beard cut my hair, trimmed my new beard, and even waxed my ears (lol). My very first time for that. Definitely recommend this place. The guys here can definitely do beards here, because two of them, one of which was my barber have very nice beards, very well kempt. Very glad I came to RendeVous Barbers!

My boyfriend went in for a haircut after having grown out his hair for three years. We called ahead and were told to just walk in. We waited only a few minutes before someone could see him. My boyfriend showed the barber (Dan) a reference photo and he did an amazing job! The environment is very welcoming and laid back, nice decor and lots of seating. One of the staff asked if I wanted a coffee or something to drink as well. Everyone is very friendly and my boyfriend says he'll definitely be back next time he needs a haircut. Hopefully it won't be another three years though lol

I went for a haircut here today, I've been here twice before. In addition to a pleasant experience, this place was totally Covid-19 ready. My appointment was made online, and it was on time. Upon arrival, my body temperature was taken, and I was asked standard Covid related questions. Everyone was wearing face masks and shields. The haircutting tools were sanitized in front of me. The place was neat and clean. Ammar gave a me a clean cut, exactly what I asked for. I felt satisfied and safe. A great experience.

Absolutely my new "go to" for getting my hair cut! I have tried so many times to find a place that provided the experience I had today at RendezVous, but none delivered across the board. I used Google Reservation to book a 10:45am with Johny. It was easy and effective as Johny was just wrapping up with another client as I arrived. I told him I didn't want a lot taken off, just to clean up the edges and shorten it a bit and he did exactly that. I've never seen techniques and focus in a barber like I saw with him, although I did notice the other barbers were delivering the same service and quality cut as I was getting. Every dude that walked out of RendezVous looked sharp AF. The confidence in their abilities and the care they show for clients was a winning combination for sure. The vibe was very chill and the front of house was lovely and efficient.

You get shuffled around if you’re not middle eastern or if you are a part of the LGBT community and hoping someone is willing to take you.

Ibrahim is probably one of the best barbers that I have seen in Toronto. I've tried places in North York, Downtown Toronto, and Mississauga and it is safe to say that I found my "guy". It has been a solid 2 years of me going to Ibrahim and the consistency of his work is unmatched. went there for the first time yesterday. these guys know how to do a properly detailed cut. sure there are cheaper alternatives around but the price you pay for the perfection is still very much reasonable. definitely going back for my next cut Covid 19 update, jul 26 2020 - I went there for the second time after so many days. Service was consistently just as good and detailed and exactly as instructed. In addition, more than adequate measures were taken, text and enter followed by temperature check and barber wearing mask and full face shield. He also sanitized the seat and equipments for in front of me. All in all great service

Post quarantine haircut was amazing, went in with a monster and came out looking fresh. All the safety precautions were perfectly followed from masks and face shields to temperature checks. I moved into this neighborhood about a year ago and barbers around here had been hit or miss. That said, I have been coming here for my last 3 hair cuts because I am very pleased with the quality and the attention to detail the barbers put into the cut at Rendezvous. Price is a bit higher than average for this neighborhood, but it's definitely worth the money. Today, I had an excellent start to my day-off with a nice shot of espresso (and dark chocolate) + fresh hair cut from Ammar. I highly recommend that you book with him but the other dudes have been great as well.

First time here and wasn't sure what to expect. Had COVID hair (I had not cut my hair for almost 2 years). Decided to go with the Men's Haircut Skin Fade as it's been scorching hot in Toronto. I had Ammar and he was amazing! Great personality, very experienced and he spent like an hour on my hair - I did not expect that! He also was very detailed and precise with everything he did and I have to say, I was so happy with the cut that I left without my hat because I was so happy with my new look! Second time I came here to get my hair cut, and am very happy once again. The atmosphere of the place is very nice—air-conditioning, good smell, and has a welcoming feeling. I got my hair cut from the man at the left-most side of the store on both occasions. He's soft spoken, friendly, and will ask questions on what you want every now and then to make sure you get exactly what you want, which is something I can appreciate because too often have my barbers just gone off to do their own thing without my input. Didn't catch his name, unfortunately, but I recommend him. It is a bit pricey—$25 for a cut and $20 for children (I believe), but it's worth it if you can afford it.

I went to rendezvous barber 2 weeks ago. The owner really needs to hire staff who can understand and communicate in English. I'm no racist but it gets very difficult to explain on what you want to get done. So, my hairstylist was more interested in watching the football game than cutting my hair, he was working so slow and would pause working in the middle to focus on the television. He ruined my hair, which I'm very unhappy about. Rendezvous used to be very good barber shop, but not anymore. The arrogant staff and no English communications has lost me as a customer

I went to the Rendezvous with my son and was given an appointment for 3 hours later which I do understand because we didn’t have appointment. Went there on time. But they took one of us and I had to wait for my son to be done to get my haircut. When I was booking I told the younger barber that I would like fading style and he said they do it. Since before I read the reviews and realized it might be language barrier, I showed the barber a photo how I wanted my cut. He looked at it and said ok and did completely different thing. No fading at all. He is a good barber but has does his own thing. I was disappointed that I didn’t get what I wanted but overall haircut was ok. The young guy was doing fading haircut and since I told him I wanted that style he should have done mine. Also they should be more welcoming. Smile a bit ... I had a fantastic experience at RendezVous. I had quarantine hair and was due for a cut. The booking was done online and was quick, simple and efficient. This location followed all COVID guidelines. I indicated my arrival over text and waited to be let in, to minimize the number of people inside. Everyone was wearing masks. Ibrahim was my barber and was extremely professional and friendly. He did an amazing job with my hair. His fades are clean and the lineups are crisp - it's the best haircut I've received. He pays attention to detail and is meticulous. You get what you pay for, and the prices are incredibly fair for the quality of their cuts. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Easily the best place to get your cut. They’re all great from what I’ve seen but I’d strongly recommend Ibrahim since he’s the only one that cuts my hair. He’s one of those natural talents that you only come across once in a blue moon. Like finding the right girl, he’s a keeper. This guy makes sure there isn’t a single strand of hair that’s out of place and he’s great with beards. He’s the Michael Jordan of haircuts. So much ego, I have been to this place about 5 times, not even an acknowledgement during my last visit. I was asked if I had made a prior appointment, I said no. I was told, you’ll have to wait with no specified time limit. 2 barbers, were standing outside smoking, even though I was waiting. I asked what was the wait time and no specific response. I waited for about 15 minutes the 2 barbers were still outside chatting between themselves in their own language, not bothering about a customer is being kept waiting. This kind of ego centric service, it won’t be long before loyal customers start drifting away. This kind of service for a business in Canada is disgusting. One start because I had no choice of giving them 0 stars. These ego centric folks make the walk-in customers feel like you gate crashed a strangers house without telling them. This kind of behaviour for a business that is open to public business is discriminating, and such degrading behaviour, plain rude, insensitive, unprofessional and this kind of store should have no place in our society. They could be friendly, professional, advise waiting folks a specific timeline... none of that.. terrible!

Had a good haircut here once . Booked an appt after 2 months of fasting and not being able to get a cut. Arrived at the shop and the guys I booked with reverted me to someone else cause they were busy (why even make an appt then) and I got what I think was a new guy. This was the most cringe-worthy haircut I got in my life. This guy used the machine to start the fade and then was trying to fade my hair with just scissors! He was going at one side of my head for 20 minutes and grabbing Bunches of my hair and just going off with scissors till I had to stop him and ask what he was doing?! Such an awkward moment. He worked on my head for over 30 minutes before I had to look at the other barbers and say bro this guy needs help. Bottom line I never write bad reviews but this was a horrible experience. Went to another top rated barbershop in the area,the very next day! You know you got a bad cut when you go to two places in two days. Luckily the second place fixed it up mint! I don't meant to sabotage these guys in anyway but if you're running a business do it properly, from top to bottom. Train every guy before they start cutting. I never had to switch barbers mid haircut before till here.

Rendezvous Scarborough shows no shortage of this and has masterfully adapted to the pandemic by keeping the barbershop spotless and sterile. 2) Promptness - After 20+ visits, I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes for my haircut. 95% of the time, I can walk in the barbershop and straight to my barber's chair! 3) Price Point vs. Quality - Expensive haircuts doesn't equate to quality craftsmanship.
