Happy that Frank and Nic are back open again! This small business run by two brothers is a down-to-earth place where they take the time to take care of you and the way you look. Before the app it could be a long wait, but now just show up at the appointment time and they are ready for you. Expertly done cut - Frank worked around my mask without fuss and gave a razor-smooth finish. Next time will be for a post-lockdown haircut for my young son...

I have been going there since I moved to Toronto in 2009. I tried several others in the beginning, but once I met Frank, that's it. They all are a nice family. Although I must say politely, price is little high. I am going back to them as along as they are in business.

Classic barbershop. i have been going on and off for years because of either work or moving from the city. I drive from midtown to scarborough just for this shop. they use razor, scissors and machines, you would be surprised at how many "barbers" dont do this anymore. They use aftershave for your neck unlike baby powder at other places or nothing at all believe it or not. good magazines, tv is on to pass the time, and the two brothers are always up for good talk on news, events, sports. now if only they started allowing smoking and serving whiskey! just be prepared to wait sometimes during busier hours, but worth it, they take their time and do a fantastic job

The barbers at G & R Barber Shop provide an excellent hair cut at a great price. The only problem I had was that they don't take reservations and there is always a line up after work and all day on Saturday (closed Sundays). I think they have more than enough clientele to add more chairs and hire more barbers, but they're old school and seem happy doing it that way.

I've been going there for over 20 years. I started when I joined the forces and needed a place to get a proper military cut. I looked for months and couldn't believe that NO ONE could do that cut properly. Until I tried this place. I've been going to them ever since. I took my son when he was old enough and we still go there, though he is almost 20 and out on his own and I have long ago moved to Ajax. We make it Father and Son time. These guys are great and the prices are more than fair for the quality. Good folks, too. I highly recommend them.

Great spot, they cut with scissors not the electronic trimmer which makes for a much better cut. They use a straight razor on the back of the neck for a true smooth shave. Be prepared to wait as they don't rush, I arrived on a Tuesday around 4:00 and there were 5 people waiting. The best haircuts I've had in years I will definitely be back as I've found my regular barber after years of frustration.

I have been going here for years. Anyone who knows this place understands the quality and professionalism these barbers bring to the table. It’s BUSY for a reason. On top of everything they are good people who care about the work they do and I have a lot of respect for them and can’t say I know of a better place to go for a men’s haircut.

This is definitely one of the best barbers in Toronto. I highly recommend getting a haircut from this family operated business. As for the person that left the negative comment talking about how one of the barbers waved you away while you were trying to ask them when to come back, I just want to say that I think you are very ignorant. Firstly, the hours in which the barbershop is open is posted RIGHT on the front door. So unless you do not know how to count, I don't think you need someone to personally explain to you what 9AM to 6PM means. Secondly, the door was locked because the barbershop was closed. That is what a CLOSED sign means. So with the door being locked and the closed sign being up, I don't understand the reason why you wanted to talk to a barber that you could clearly see was busy with another client. Personally, I think it is good that you won't come to this barbershop because you judge them and you have't even been inside to talk to them. As for the barbershop, keep up the great work and remember to not let ignorant customer's comments get to you.

The older guy was very good at what he does. Today, they had a few people inside getting haircuts done but the door was locked. I knocked and the guy some through the door and waved me away. I only wanted to ask when to come back, but after if you dint have the decency to walk 5 steps and say one sentence to a customer, I won't be coming to you if you were the last and only barber in Ontario!

A simple, classic barber shop for men and boys. I just get a basic trim with a fade, but everything they do is high quality with good attention to detail. The three guys that work there are all great, and as long as I have the time this is always my go-to spot. After going to other barbers in the area, G & R is definitely the cheapest. Unfortunately their business hours and great value make it very hard to get a haircut if you work a 9-5. I haven't been able to get a cut here in ages.
