I'm probably one of the pickiest guys with haircuts and my boy Amit never lets me down, this guy takes his sweet time and won't stop till I'm satisfied with my hair and beard. Would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a fresh cut. AND Not only does he give the best skin fades but he also has great customer service. This guy even let me choose a show to watch during my cut ????????. This is probably one of the best barbershops out there, these guys definitely know what they're doing and they're all super nice . Very clean environment with amazing customer service and probably the only barber shop I'll go to from now on. ????????

Had this place at a 3 star, I changed it to a 5 star. They recently lowered prices and renovated the inside. Their barbers are great and will walk you through the entire haircut making sure everything is perfect. You dont like a bit of the cut? They'll fix it on the spot. Definitely worth the $30 for adult mens cut, I often even get my beard cut here.

I am used to going to Scarborough shops where you typically sit around for awhile but the appointment system at this place is on point - you get your cut at the time you booked it. I have been a loyal customer for approximately 5 years. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. When this location had to temporarily work out of Ajax, I moved with them too. Phung has been my barber over this time and we have built an excellent rapport. The other barbers are great too and I’d recommend them all, but Phung has been my go to. The staff is extremely friendly and professional, the shop is always clean and playing something good on tv, or playing great music. I miss the occasional Deejays that would spin on Saturday afternoons (?) or the PlayStation for the kids (pre COVID). If you are on the fence about trying them out, don’t hesitate. I’d be confident with any of the barbers as they are all highly skilled and friendly.

I went to this place a little while ago and loved it my barber was Amit the dude knew what he was doing hands down. The atmosphere is very relaxed and when I went all the barbers were cracking jokes. Their prices are really reasonable for the quality of a cut you. get some of the sharpest and cleanest lines and fades there and are really up to date on hairstyles. This place is a must if you want to get a really good cut and have an enjoyable time there

I've spent the past year growing my hair out to try out a new style, and I had recently got out of the awkward phase. I went into Shears and asked for just a shape up, and requested they don't take much off. I was faced away from the mirror the whole time, and at the end when he turned me around, I realized he had cut off more than half the length! A year of my time growing out my hair wasted. I only give it 2 stars instead of 1 because after expressing my disappointment they comped the haircut without me asking. I wish I had just gone to great clips. I've never been more disappointed leaving a hairdresser as I was today... Never again.

So I came here on Monday and it was my first cut in 4 months. My barber was a guy from Ajax, I forget his name,Filipino guy. He was good at conversing but really made my haircut a nightmare. It took more than the normal time to cut my hair so he was not very well adjusting to it and after he gave me a cut, I told him to cut a little more but he cut my hair too short in a way they look very odd. I am new in Canada and I don’t like to make a scene, I quietly gave him the money and even the tip but I will never ever go here. I regret going here, I passed a barber in downtown Oshawa run by Jamaican guys and I regret why I didn’t went there. I had a misconception that place matters but in reality only talent matters. I have never ever in my life written a review and I started with a negative review because what I am writing is the truth. Don’t go for all the positive reviews, I was blinded by them. Better ask your friend to cut your hair.

I went there after a friend told me it’s a good place for haircuts. I made an appointment with Brandon and he took his time and didn’t rush while cutting my hair. The only thing I did not like was the fact that they only took cash and did not have a debit machine I was surprised to see that because they seemed like such a high-end barber shop and I’ve been to lower class barbers in Toronto who always have a debit machine.

The haircut and facial experience at shear brilliance was bar none. As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist. I waited only a very short time until I received an excellent haircut by one of their talented barbers. I was then offered a facial before the haircut for a very reasonable price . This was performed by the receptionist , (Karen I think her name was). The facial was very relaxing along with short massage and I felt my Face was very clean afterwards. In case you think this is just a place for young studs to get a cut, think again - on advice of my daughter, booked (easy) an appointment for a cut with Brandon. Stuck with the same boring 'style' for years, I thought I should really get an update. Wasn't disappointed. Great environment, comfortable and clean. Welcomed by front staff then introduced to Brandon. Gave him some feedback and asked him for his opinion and ended up with the best cut I can ever remember. Already have had many compliments and Brandon was very easy to deal with, never rushed and everything was done to my satisfaction. Highly recommend Brandon and Shear Brilliance! Great conversations, movies and most importantly the craftsmanship of the cuts ive received and seen leaving the shop is top notch. I made the mistake of going here yesterday. I went to get my head shaved and beard trimmed. First he took the electric razor and basically ground it in to my head till all the hair was gone causing my entire head to have razor burn. Then my beard which was down to my stomach. He was asked to clean it up but not touch the length. He took 6” off the length. Not happy about it at all. To top this all off they asked if I wanted to tattoo my head to make my hair line look better. This is a total snow flake place and not a barber shop. Will never go back and you should stay away also. Please note there was no miss communication on the phone. I wanted my head down to the wood. But not with a electric razor to the point my skin is coming off. And my beard was long and had been growing it out for sometime to have 6” taken off when he was asked not to touch the length.

I get my cuts from the man himself, Jairah. Always on time, communicates beforehand if I can push an appointment early or later, super accommodating. The store itself is very neat and clean with other cool barbers always having a fun chat and some Marvel movies on or something too interesting while I'm getting a haircut tbh. His dog, Zeus, is the cutest lil guy who's also super friendly. Most importantly, the haircuts and beard services are always top class. Low/mid/high fades, tapers, line ups, blade line ups, scissors, anything you need to look crisp and fresh this is the place you're looking for. I go here all the time and Jairah is my barber but all of them are always giving some sick cuts no doubt. I live 10 minutes away so this is perfect spot for me now in Durham. Not to mention the upcoming Tattoo service inside too...

I first started going to Shear brilliance last year in January! I remember going in for my first cut! My barber was Amit, I sat down in his chair and he asked me what I wanted I said " A comb over" then I procceded to tell him you do what you think will work. I sat in the chair while he cut my hair for just under a hour by the time his was finished I was completely Enthralled with my new cut! Moved to oshawa in 2018 and was looking for a new barber for the first time in 10 plus years. Tried 2-3 places and they all were not good. Heard about this place from a friend and booked with Jairah for the first time and have never went to another barber again. I moved to toronto but come back to oshawa once in a while and always come to this shop specifically. For the past two years I've been going to this barber shop. For the first year I would just walk in and wait for whoever chair was available.(Trust me it's worth the wait, and it's not even that long) I've gotten cuts from everyone there. Then they started their online booking and would ask me if I booked online. So I downloaded the app and rememebered I really liked how Amit would cut my hair how much detail he would put into it.(He even made a joke about it when I booked online for the first time because I would come in so often and get a cut from whoever and when I decided to pick him it was like a "ahh ya" moment) Don't get me wrong all the guys and Christina do a great job at their art but I just like how Amit does my hair. I tell everyone who asks me where I get my cut from to go see them! Amit is more of a friend now then just my barber. Thanks man for the great fades.
