Contrary to the 'rude barber' reviews I've been reading, I went in today and found the place to be very quiet (figures, Thursday mid day). Of the three staff there, they were all quite friendly, and the guy who cut my hair talked my ear off about classic movies. The whole shop at a very relaxed feel. Needless to say, the guy who cut my hair also did a good job. It felt professional as it should be. I asked if I could take a picture when my haircut was done, and they very happily posed for the picture. My only complaint is that is was so relaxed and quiet in the shop, that they took a while to cut my hair. Still, it was timely enough (30 minutes) and I was happy.

See I am never the one to leave a bad review, but I tried this place 3-4 times and that's it for me; I am done! The previous times were 4-5 of 10, But this time oh God I went right out and got a clipper and drove back home and shaved my hair right off. Never had such a bad haircut in my life. She forgot to trim the back, and the crown, and left a giant patch on the side in the middle of the left side fade. To the owner: Not everyone that can hold a clipper is a barber!

A great place to get your hair cut. They usually have at least a few barbers on hand meaning the wait time is rarely long. Good low key vibe with friendly folk. There is a reason they've been around so long. They also accommodate and work with children which is good for our father/son haircut day.

I walked in and 3 hairdressers stopped and looked at me and every one of them looked away. Nobody said a word to me or said hello to me or anything. I would never step foot in here again

I've been here before, normally pretty average barbers. Unfortunately, the last time I went in, the barber was rude and clearly just wanted to get me out of the chair. Asked for 3/4" shorter on the sides and the back and she cut nearly 2 inches off! Hair cut was not at all what I asked for and quite out of date for my age (24). If you're between the ages of 18-35, go somewhere else where they won't give you an "old man cut".

Nice place, clean, respect covid protocols though wonder why contact info not taken down as number rise.otherwise sanitize chairs, equipment and require masks. Space is large enough to accommodate the numbers they let in with appropriate distancing. Barbers all appear engaged in their work, don't feel rushed. and a pretty decent haircut at a reasonable price

I’ve been getting my hair cut from Tom, the proprietor, since the mid eighties. Yes, he’s fast but he’s excellent. He really knows his stuff! I’d rather have my hair cut in 15 minutes and have it done right than spend an hour with some rookie, so called “barber” who hasn’t a clue how to cut hair. I travel all the way from Sooke because I know I’ll get the best haircut at Shelbourne Barbers. They are in the business of cutting hair but they are human so it’s possible that on occasion, a customer may go away feeling dissatisfied but in the literally hundreds of times I’ve been there, I can honestly say I’ve never heard anyone complain. If you want a decent haircut, it’s the place to go!

Walked in for the first time not knowing what to expect with a new barber, showed Arlene what I wanted done, not only did she absolutely nail the haircut, she made suggestions so i told her to do what she felt would look good, and oh my god does my hair look amazing, i've been receiving compliments from everyone i know everyday. On top of that the shop was very clean and the atmosphere was great.

Don't take your kids there Saw this on fb I am compelled to share an experience I just had at Shelbourne Barbers on Cedar Hill. I am in tears and I need to tell people to never go there. I have heard amazing things about them being welcoming to kids and families but I have never been so offended in my life. The owner cut my 4 year old sons hair and was so rude and unkind. He barely said two words to him, kept shaking his head and muttering under his breath when he moved and eventually kicked him out of the chair and said "get out of here." He was sitting as quiet as I would expect a 4 year old to and was quiet. The other two barbers just stood there and said nothing and when I started to say something they said it was my problem and none of their business. He threatened to call the police numerous times. I don't know what to do. I'm speechless. Please don't support them.

In particular, I've been getting cuts by Taylor for awhile now and he puts a lot of effort and detailing into every one at an unreal price! My guy leaves me walkin out with my hair looking sweeeeet to look good, feel good, and play good.

Ok here is the catch. 2 Rude ladies will have their phones on their face with FB. Their dog will jump on you. oh she(DOG) is good, she likes everyone. Well, If I jump on those ladies and say, I am good. How they will feel? keep your dog to yourself, make family , no one cares. One old guy, probably good but will spend 3 mins to cut your hair and charge 19$ because he can start another customer quick. AVOID this place if you can. They are very rude as well.

My husband went in. Was never spoken to. The woman cut his hair while on the phone the whole time. Totally rude. He is a generous tipper but refused to give a tip. Start to finish 7 minutes. Super rude. Will not be back.

Good haircut from the woman with long black hair. She didn’t talk at all which was fine.However she was distracted much of the time. She answered two texts and left a few times to attend to her dog or who knows what else. I always tip but didn’t this time.
