Best place for a traditional barbershop experience.
Amazing! I came into Duzz today to have my haircut fixed because a different barber shop had butchered my hair. Within the first 5 minutes I could see that my hair was going to be fixed and by the end it was. I'm more than happy with the results. Can't thank Mr. Duzz enough!
The owner was very rude and stuck up. Puts too much gel on the hair as a "finishing touch" but if you dare say something he'll say it's the standard and he has to do it that way. But I'm paying $50 so I expect to get what I want and not just "the standard." the decor is pretty nice tho and has a 90's feel to it.
went here couple of times, but I wont be going back. Mybarber was moody and was rough with the blade and the scissors. the one thing I hate the most is going for a "cut" and literally getting cut up by the barber. I heard the guy saying that he doesn't eat lunch anymore, maybe he should since nobody wants a moody butcher as their barber.
An excellent hair cut. A unique experience I would recomend to any man.
Been here a few times, the decor is reminiscent of a speak easy, very tasteful.Duzz absolutely crushes the classic men's cuts! You can tell a lot about a barber by the way they handle a comb, and this man knows what he's doing. To top that off he takes great photos.
Mr. Moto is a very good hair stylist, I would give him 5 but I gave 3 because of the owner's customer skills.
The worst hair stylist in the world by far is Mr. DUZZ himself. Bald Asian guy. I should have guessed his lack of talent when instead of cutting my hair into shape, he tried using products. Of course he is alien to the concept of hair up keep, because he ain't got none. You might look nice coming out of the salon, but will hate yourself for months until it grows back. I have to say Mr. Motto is great. I was forced to book with Duzz because Motto was all booked. Funny how you can't comment on Duzz Instagram page.
I came to Duzz for the first time today as it was highly recommended by a good friend. The website didn't mention much but I was impressed by how thorough their marketing was. Upon entering the shop it was apparent that not just the website, but every detail of the shop is on point. Upon entering, O greeted me and was very friendly, Duzz found me soon after and was very inviting. While cutting my hair I learned all about the history of where the classic cuts originated from and why they chose this style to perfect on. I feel sorry for the chap that left a bad review before about "Duzz not listening" because I'm afraid he didn't quite understand the concept of this highly specialized shop. I've made my rounds around T.Os' most popular barber shops (BlogTo top 10+google reviews) and can say that this shop is like no other. They chose to specialize in the classic old-school cuts. And they do it at a high level of excellence. Their philosophy is deeply ingrained in every detail, down to the magazines on the table. They make you feel very welcome unlike some of the other well established shops and they DO listen to you. Just know that if you're coming to this shop you're here to experience their craft, and walk out with one of the freshest takes on the classics. 5 stars.
Moto wouldn’t give me the cut I wanted, despite numerous requests. I paid a premium price for a haircut I hated. Had to go somewhere else and pay for another haircut the next day to get it fixed. Nice music though.
I got a cut from Mr. Moto and I highly recommend him. He is very skilled and pays attention to every detail. The price is fair for the whole experience. I will be going back for my next cut.
Excellent and totally worth the price tag. I have been to some other fancy high end salons costing a lot more than Duzz but nowhere else I have seen the professionalism, skill and attention to detail as Duzz. The place has a great rustic vibe and you can appreciate the passion that went into putting it together. As for the haircut - it was top notch, exactly what I had in mind. This was my first time with old style cut and Mr.Moto was very helpful in deciding what to go for and it was bang on. Also appreciated the fact they didnt try to sell me any products unlike many other places. I highly recommend trying Duzz. You should definitely give it a try.
I only wash my hair and cut the bangs. Most of the staffs are nice. However, A staff work on the front desk show surprised when I only want to cut the bangs, that a little bit annoyed at first . Overall, I really satisfied with my hair and service quality. Specially, the staff who wash the hair for me, he really carefully. I may come back again :)))
Good haircut is guaranteed, a good experience is not. Mr.Moto was for some reason weirdly pissed off - maybe the lack of appointments set him off? I was getting angry responses 3 out of 3 times - not to mention the uncommunicative manners and downright rude and insulting ways he treated me. My coat is also left on a chair after being taken off of a hanger before I go out. I certainly didn't need anyone to put it on for me - but at least treat your customer with some respect. The one star I left is for Mr.Duzz. I've never had a bad experience with him. If there were minus stars I would seriously dish it out on this review.
Great place for old school haircut. You have to be completely comfortable with style. This not "come and tell barber what kind of haircut you want place"; they specialize in old school cuts and they do it on the highest level! I suggest you look at their Instagram and see if you like the style.
Great hair care service from Mr. Fred Care and attention to detail is fantastic.
Been seeing Duzz for a few years. Top Notch. Had a cut from Mr. Moto too, slightly different style but just as good. Nice to mix it up. These guys really take care of you.
Great place to get certain styles of haircuts.
Amazing haircuts, the barbers don't force you to have small talk and they're really nice. The only downside is that it's a bit pricey. $45 plus tip but you'll like your hair afterwards
This is a serious barbershop that prides itself in perfecting timeless old school cuts. The atmosphere is fitting of the late 50's, early 60's. Duzz, the owner is a master with scissors, razor and buzzer, and treats you like a true gentleman with old world courtesy and no nonsense professionalism. I've been here 4 times now and will probably return another 400. Book your appointments in advance, him and his awesome staff are getting popular!
Always get my hair done here and it is by far the best place I've been to so far. It's a little hipster but fits nicely. The only downside is I can never make it look as good as Duzz does it the next day.
By the end of last year when they were first open to public my friend and I booked appointments with them. Mr. Os bleached and died my hair for me. It took us really good two hours. After he finished Working with my hair I put on my glasses( I was blind without them lol) "Wow!!!" That all I said to him. It was fantastic done. I love how my hair got treated and how professional they are. My friend got Mr.Duzz. He is an elegant old fashioned man. My friend love their classic barbershop styles. It's neat, straightforward and also pay close attention to details.
Duzz is the best barber I have ever used!
Been going to you barbershop for years. Consistent and professional. Clean and precise. Book Duzz. No regrets.
Variable pricing for veteran or rookie barbers. Full service barber shop with specialization in old school cuts.
Cleanliness, precision and awesome staff that will gurantee you the perfect classic cut
Men's barber shop nice place it's kinda expensive for what it is he could do better. Not change so much
I had to wait a few month to write my review. It was an awful experience and I got emotional every time I try to write it. First of all, I did know it was a barber shop, but the hairstylist was recommended by my best friend who used to cut her hair every other month there. There are two stylists, only one of them cuts lady’s. It wasn’t welcoming when my mom and I entered the store. I had to bring my new born baby with me because I had errands to run before my haircut. Duzz, later I found out he is even part of the ownership, saw me and didn’t acknowledge me. then I had to ask him if his partner was around, he only pointed out and still didn’t say a word ( we both Asians not sure why he had to feel any higher or better than me? Cause I’m female?) as soon as I started my appointment I was happier, at least my stylist was respectful with me. Unfortunately as my hair cut started my new born baby started crying, my mom tries to calm her down, here comes the most unforgiving event. The Duzz came to me and asked me to send my mom and my daughter outside. Out in the cold? Yes I forgot to mention it was -20 degrees, thick snow around the area. With strong wind blowing it felt a lot colder than it was broadcasted. Then he went to talk to my mom several times, either take the baby out or make her stop crying. It was only me and another guy in the shop. He said his customer was really upset. His customer acknowledged me when I came in and offered me to sit closer with my daughter. His customer never made any frustrated faces, he was the one who kept showing me those rude faces, rolled his eyes every other second and making the annoyed sound. Come on we are all adults, no need to act uncivilized. His partner even felt bad for me and apologized to me while cutting my hair. Anyway, I really had to control my emotions and just waited to get my hair finished and leave the store as soon as I can and never come back again! Bad customer service and bad business ownership. Arrogant, small minded, rude person. Worst experience ever!
My fiancé has been coming here for over 2 years and he gets the nicest haircut he’s ever had. He sees Moto and is very happy with his work. In the 13 years that we’ve been together, I have never seen his hair looking so fresh and clean.
Mr. Duzz is an artist. Been coming for a year and have not been disappointed yet.
Took my husband here yesterday for the first time for a classic cut with Mr. Fred, we had a wonderful experience and he did a fab job with my husband’s hair and fixed errors from a bad experience from another barbershop. Beautiful interior …
Always had great experiences here whenever and by whoever top notch barbershop
Mr. duzz is an amazing barber. This place is pricey but worth it! EDIT: One pandemic and roughly 2 years later, i want to reiterate that this place is worth every penny!! I went back after barbers were closed (for what feels like forever!!) and man, I missed Duzz.
The best haircut and atmosphere I have ever had been going there for months.
I went to this babershop more than 3 years, Mr. Duzz is good barber with excellent skill. However, I didn’t realize it. Until I go to an another barbershop in downtown. To sum up,in here I can say price is always reasonable. You can get good experience in here, good hair cut, and knowledge for the old style hair style.
Excellent hair cut. They take the time to give a man what he deserves. Even my dad visits regularly.
Having moved to Toronto 2 months ago, it was time for me to get a haircut. I passed by Duzz and was surprised by the cool vintage atmosphere of the barbershop. I was a bit hesitant/afraid to take an appointment at first because of the old-school haircut only sign but I'm glad I did! I got a appointment with Mr. Moto who took the time to discuss with me and give me advices on what style would fit me and which one would not. I told him that I trusted him and the result was magnificent! The haircut is great and the attention to detail was amazing. I found my barber in Toronto on the first try! Bonus points for the pomade they use, it smells so good I wanted to wash my hair the latest possible. Tldr :Great barbershop, experienced staff, great product, 10/10 will grow my hair to get another haircut there.
Decided to try this place based on the reviews and I gotta say they really deliver. Place looks like a proper barbershop and they spend a good amount of time with you to make sure the cut is perfect. When they finish it won’t look like with …
Great place, great people and amazing haircuts!
Never gotten so many compliments for my haircut before. These guys are obsessive about perfecting their craft. The price was absolutely worth the value.
I dont go anywhere else at the moment. Prices are a little bit more than some people want to pay, but they dedicate an hour to you at each hair cut.
Mr. June was my barber and he is good .
Looks like a great place. Nice decor and the people seem fine. But I went in at 6.15, They close at 7 there was one guy waiting and one on the chair. Apparently they wouldn't have time to cut my hair. Book an appointment they said, lol who books an appointment for a hair cut!! For me a hair cut is always last minute I mean I just wanted a razor on the sides and a quick snip on top nothing special it would have taken him 10 mins max. Oh well I will have to find another place. Perhaps it's a little to fancy for me haa
O and Duzz do great work. The shop has a cool vibe and the place is always well maintained. Highly recommended!
Making an appointment is recommended. They are professional and polite. The place has a rustic vibe and great ambience. They specialize in classic / old school haircuts. Although the cost is on the high side, the experience makes up for it.
The guy never listened to what I wanted. Extremely arrogant.
Best barber shop in GTA! good athomospher, good music & good people, its my choice since 6 months ago! I strongly suggest.
Decent hair cut would not go again. Prices too high 50$
First time customer. Had no expectations and let Mr. Duzz go to town on me. Let him do whatever he wanted. Got a classic part cut and after having the same haircut for years I was very pleased with the change. Nice atmosphere unique store. Highly recommended for someone who wants something different.
Very professional at what they do. Price is at the higher end but you get what you pay for which is quality hairstyle. Once you step food into this place, it brings you right back into the past. Highly recommended.
First time at a proper Barber. Duzz asked me what I was looking for and I just told him to do his thing and trusted his judgement... don't regret it at all. Old Skool look is all they do and it was exactly what I was hoping for. Great customer care and amazing interior of the building.
Best haircut in North York - totally worth visiting!
Good vibe and staff who are legitimate craftsmen. Rare in a barber nowadays.
Best haircut I've had, from JIA. Solid talent!
I've been meaning to try Duzz for months and finally went for a visit. Part of the charm is definitely the vintage equipment (I was told the chairs are over 100 years old) — it all adds to the experience. Most importantly, though, the haircut is really great. A real attention to detail, and a lot of care. Aside from my own reaction, my wife has never been so emphatic about how much she likes my haircut!
Great place. The guys there cut a distinct style of hair which is very stylish and looks amazing. They are all very friendly too.
This is a throw back to classic fleet Street barbershop. You come in for their expertisee and their vision, not yours. Koori is an artistic and your clay. He's going to mold you, not the other way around.
Way too expensive. Dont get scam, u can find a better and skilled barber.
Great experience. This is my third time going to Duzz and I love. Very nice spot and very easy. They are very professional and really good at classic haircut.
I go here quite often and get a very good experience and a fresh cut. It is a bit pricey but worth every penny. Highly recommended
WARNING! Pretentious, overpriced and they don't actually give you the cut that you request. They pride themselves on cutting everyone the same way, in a short window and without meeting your needs. Volume practice for a small shop. Two attempts (with 2 diff barbers) had me requesting a 1.5 instead of their usual 1 on the sides and getting the response that "We only do old school cuts our way." Moreover, i asked them not to edge out the entire box around my forehead but they said it is the only way they do it and ended up mis-shaping/pushing back my hair line at awkward angles. Finally, i asked them if they could take down the thickness of the beard after they shaped my beard awfully and once again was told that they don't offer that service. The owner and his partner rebuff requests with arrogance and without pride. You can easily find a better barber and a better price and have a better experience.
I have been coming to this barbershop for several months now and I am always satisfied with the haircut and service I receive. The professional atmosphere has made every visit a good experience. When I get my hair cut and beard trimmed, the …
Fantastic place and highly recommended! You wont find a better barber place! Thank you!!!!!
The worst Barber shop in North York. The first time I went, they couldn’t do the hairstyle I wanted, so I compromised and picked from a poster of 5 different haircuts which almost look the same. He did a pretty poor job. If you can ONLY do 5 different styles, you better be PERFECT at it. But it was far from that. The second time I went, I showed a picture of the style I wanted. It was a simple undercut with a fade and a little trim on top. They said they can’t do it and I have to pick from their poster. Unbelievable.....where’s the creativity and skill that a barber should have..DO NOT get your haircut here. They will make you pick from 5 different hairstyles and look like anyone else that goes there. Lol
Mr.Fred is best Barber ever!Italy is the champion by the way hahaha!
Mr. Duzz is an absolute professional. If you want a classic gentlemen's haircut, this is the man to go to. He truly believes in his craft and you can tell by how his barbershop is decorated and finished. It's class all around. If you're looking for a more avante garde haircut, go somewhere else. Duzz does what they do and they do it very well and they don't compromise on that. This is not the place to go for getting some designs shaved in your head or a faux hawk or anything like that.
I arrived, once I sat in the chair I started discussing my hair, MrDuzz wasnt too interested in what I had to say. I told him I'd like the top much shorter and a fade to the sides and a comb over. He told me my hair was already short enough for his design. I told him you can adapt, he said okay. Then I told him again, I would like the top shorter, I dont want to see any curl. He said, dont worry we use pomade, once its in, you wont be able to see the curls. My first thought was "But what happens tomorrow morning, I still have curls" I was completely ignored and before you know it, I had a fade on the sides and the same long hair on top and he was putting pomade in my hair to "flatten" the curls. It was at this point, I asked, is that it? He laughed. I said no seriously, I asked for you to cut my hair 4 times and you left it the same length. I was then told "I can wash the pomade out and shorten your hair but maybe then this isnt the place for you" In other words if you dont let these guys cut your hair the way they want to, you will not be welcome back. This place is a barbershop Knock-Off at its finest, it has beautiful decor, everything old school, you can tell they really tried in that regard. But remember you are going for a hair cut, not a hair styling in some stylish environment. There is a sense of pretentiousness in that environment that they cant seem to back up with hair cutting skills, they know a few different designs that they have mastered, like painting by numbers. They then mask their inabilities an aura of dickishness as if they only offer the best hair cuts. This place is an amusement ride from the 1950's and for those that want to look like they are from that era, this is the place for you, but don't bother giving any input into your own hair cut or you might be told "this ISNT the place for you." To all who read this, you have been warned, do yourself a favor and go to the fitting room if you want a euro hair cut and or the forum if you want a basketball hair cut. Mr Duzzz and Co. are clowns and now I look like one too :(
Such great people and the best cuts I've ever had... haven't stopped going there since I started
Great barbershop in all aspects. Very welcoming, friendly and professional staff. Great music. Very clean salon. Fred is amazing , attentive to details and professional. Overall great first time experience but definitely my only go to barbershop henceforth. (NB: A bit pricey but definitely worth it!!)
Mr Duzz is arrogant and does not listen to what a client is asking for. He does one "classic duzz haircut" for every face shape. I show him a picture and he disregards it completely and does his own thing. He should put up a sign that says I only do one haircut. I do not recommend and will not be coming back here.
These guys are awesome. Mr. Moto takes his time and the staff members are really pleasant.
I asked mr.duzz for a specific type of haircut along with the picture and he agreed on it. Only to find out at the end of the haircut it was the same tradition hairstyle that they like and nothing I wanted. Over use of hair product bad customer service. Overpriced haircut
The fancy atmosphere and over use of gel masks poor barbering skills and poor customer service. Keep hiding guys... Inept, two quick for the price, pretentious, no basic blending, not sharp...they pride themselves on saying we don't do that or we only do this one type of cut. 2 attempts. Arrogant Mr. duzz refused to give me the level of the sides i wanted and then refused to do the touch up and beard fixing that i wanted. register rings - top dollar charged. Second time w/ his partner - hair line destroyed via boxing without my permission. Request to blend beard and side denied. Many barbershops along the yonge have graciously received the disappointed Duzz patrons. ive spoken to many to have heard the horror stories.
Went there first time today, I had Jason cut my hair, he did an incredible job, he made sure I was 110% happy with the final look and I really appreciate that. Will be coming back!
One of the best classic cuts I've ever had. Clean cut with exceptional attention to details. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a high quality barber and not a salon. Thanks!
Nice guys who do a damn good job. It isn't cheap but you are getting your money's worth because they're professionals. Go see Steve if you want your beard done perfectly.
I asked for a mid taper and the barber took a 1 clip and went all the way up the back of my head ...the guy was clearly nervous while cutting my hair (not natural at all) and found out through talking to him that he only had a couple of months experience. Gonna take a while to grow this one back out....
Just moved to the neighborhood and wanted a good haircut. This place was close and had good reviews, along with a rustic look of an olden era. This is why I booked an appointment for 1:15 (yes you can check your schedule for my name). I’m going to put my opinions in point form as pros and cons: Pros: *Whoever did the interior design on this place deserves a gold medal * the dude cutting my hair was really into it. I liked the passion he showed for his job * it was quick *all the stuff the guy below me posted about products they used, prewash hair and choose a style are true. Cons: *very expensive without reason: 45+tax+tip=$57.44! ~ $60 bucks! (tip options were 15%, 20%, 25%) *for such a price tag I expected nothing but exceptional service, which is far from what I got * horrible customer service. HORRIBLE or should I say none existent. * mediocre cut (for someone who looked so passionate about cutting hair, it was ok) * he over thinned my hair on the right side of my head! Now I have a hair crater!! And it’s a look I can’t pull off ????. *again for almost 60 bucks, every customer deserves the best service and cut, both of which were missing. Detailed experience: (Barber shop only had one customer, before I walked in aka. Not busy) Firstly, no one greeted me when I walked in , even though there were three stylists, two of which were doing nothing but sitting. Anyway, I sat down and then 2 mins after the guys like ‘hey you have an appointment?’. He had No smile, just a plain look. Like this —> ????. I got up to say, hi with a smile and he’s like, ok you can sit back down. Like what the effing beep! At least say HELLO!! Then when I was heading back to my chair, I saw on the right of the cashier there was a self serve coffee stand. This got me excited because well...it’s free coffee. At least I’m getting something for spending roughly 60 bucks. But with disappointment after seeing all the pots were empty, I asked the cashier (who was still expressionless and saw me looking at the coffee stand but decided wait till I asked him to say something), is there any coffee? And he responded with the same expressionless face and monotone voice. ‘No’. LIKE WHAT THE FUDGE?! Rest of my experience was like any other hair cutting salon. (Absolutely no different) You’re charging your customer an arm and a leg for what? And all these fellow dudes who are giving you excellent reviews, like why??? You really thought they were better than any 20-30 Mid range barbershops? Will I return again? HECK NO! With 60 bucks I could’ve gotten a haircut, movie ticket and a freakin delicious burrito ???? <—- remember this face. That’s how I’ll feel every time I see DUZZ open on young street. Wrote this on my way to getting a burrito.
I have never been more satisfied with a haircut in Toronto. Mr. Moto did a fantastic job.
First time going here and I booked with Mr.June, he did a great job and understood what I was asking for. Would love to visit the shop again.
Excellent quality and stylish haircut and beard trim! Love my last beard and haircut going back again real soon!
One of the best barbers I have ever been too. Cannot wait to get back for a proper cut and shave.
Amazing barber shop, as soon as you walk in you feel you are in a 1940's barbershop, Fred cut my hair and was great by advising on my mustache that I am growing, great attention to detail, professional and very friendly, this is my new barbershop spot from now on, will definetly recommended it.
Been coming here for a couple years now and really enjoy the entire cuts, It always puts a smile on my face. So much care is taken to ensure its perfect, I really appreciate that. Whether you are familiar with old school cuts or not, this place is worth a visit.
Wouldn't recommend booking with Mr. FRED. The haircut went fine until he mentioned at the end that he shaved a large bald spot on my back telling me its not that bad and laughing it off. After i asked if theres anything he could do about it he laughed and said, "what do you want me to do, pick it up off the floor"?. He was not welcoming from the start and had a care-free vibe to him the whole time. He never offered a discount for the cut when he clearly made a careless mistake. Although i could tell he was skilled, he lacked the professionalism thats expected when booking at a place like this.
The first thing you might be thinking is: "WOW! $45! For a haircut??? Is it worth it!?" The short answer is yes! This place does not disappoint. It's an old school barber shop and it is just unique. They start off by giving your hair a nice wash, then you get to choose which style you want (I love the classic) and then you get your haircut. They use various products on your hair and at the end of it all, it is an amazing end result. I have attached a photo so you see what I'm talking about. The only thing I wish they did also is a nice old school straight razor shave. That's something that is missing... I have been there a couple times and had Mr. Moto take care of me and he did a great job every time. Give them a shot! It's definitely worth a try!
My go-to place for consistently high quality haircut!
You have to sit in that antique chair and get your hair cut, in order to feel the passion Duzz and O have for their talent. Yes the price is higher than a typical cut but totally worth it.
This place knows how to create a welcoming old school atmosphere. The staff and owner are very friendly and passionate about what they do. For anyone looking for a hidden gem of a barbershop that sticks to a old school professionalism there's no better place in Toronto.
Best haircuts in Toronto. I've been a regular at this joint for close to a year now and Mr. Duzz always gives me the sickest fade that money can buy.
