I've been a customer of Donwood Men's Stylist for many years now. I went rather by chance (it is in the location of a barbershop I'd known as a boy), and ended up having the best haircut(s) of my life. After years of having my hair styled in downtown Toronto for substantial $$$, it was a big shift to visit something so seemingly ordinary. But I quickly discovered how extraordinary this wonderful spot is. Here I can relax, be listened to (they actually do what I want!), and always for such a reasonable price. The shop is nowhere near where I live, but I still make a point of getting there after 10 years. Today I drove down from Bracebridge to have a haircut (and do some other errands). Jim and Carmine are very professional and welcoming, without any pretension. For years now, all I need is to say a word or two and they understand what kind of cut I'm after. Over the years I have come to relay on them. I hope you, too, will make a point of visiting this lovely spot. Highest recommendation.

One of the best places I have had a haircut at . The owner was pleasant and knew his craft. He made me feel comfortable and took his time. It wasn't one of those production line hair cut places, or speciality stores that are overpriced. The price was lower than what I expected to pay for that service. Keep up the AWESOME work.

This has been my go to barber shop for 3 years. Jim is fantastic and I can highly recommend this place. Friendly atmosphere, clean and reasonable prices. They only take cash FYI. You can now book appointments with them which is great.

One of the best kept secrets in North York!!!!! From the old fashioned sign out front to the genuine personalities inside, this shop is a winner. Most importantly, Jim and his staff inside are very good at what they do. You won't get a rush job from these guys, even when the seats are full. They take their time to give you a great haircut. If you are tired of getting your head butchered by those budget franchises, you have to give this place a try.

Jim likes to talk/listen, but don't share your opinions unless you're Conservative...we disagreed politically on my last visit, and I got a quickie haircut without his usual care or quality work, although no one was waiting for him...so if you want a good haircut, keep your opinions to yourself. Or try David at Don East Barber Shop, who is very good.
