Whilst the haircut was good, $30 for a kids haircut is 50% above the going rate in the area. That may be OK with some people but I wouldn't come back unless I was in a real bind

Initially gave 4 stars, now less because i am a student with valid student ID but they won't let me use student price because of me being older than 20. When it says student price, it should be regardless of age. The apple store does not discriminate students due to age, all there is would be proof of being a student for Apple. Anyway, the barbers are still awesome. The admin staff are all over the place, disorganized and senseless. Their online reservation system is a fail. Thus dropping this to 1 star.

My wife got me a gift card for a beard trim here. From the time I walked in, I was made to feel very welcome by the staff. They offered me a coffee or water and the entire visit, it seemed like every detail was attended to. I can't remember the name of my barber but he was a blast. Very conversational, extremely focused on the task and made me feel very comfortable. He did a great job on my beard, cut my hair and now the wife likes me again ????. Thanks guys. Awesome! If you're all about beards, this is the place to go! Great service, great quality and relatively good prices! A basic trim will set you back about 20$ but on the bright side, you get a free water, coffee, or tea when you visit! If you're willing to spend a little extra, enjoy a beer or wine from the drinks menu and make the experience one to remember!

Although this place tries to create a unique experience, they seem to try too hard. I did not appreciated being offered a drink thinking it was included in the service fees then being charged for it at the last minute. I would suggest they bring a menu with pricing if they are going to charge extra for their drinks. Many places offer free drinks at the barber and this practice is misleading.

Never have I had such an outstanding grooming experience than I do at King’s Crown in Bayview Village. From the moment you walk in, it feels like a little escape from reality. There are many grooming services to choose from. The staff is highly trained and professional - they know what they’re doing. Also, why not enjoy a coffee, beer, scotch while being pampered? The management checks in on every customer to make sure they are not needing anything. Great modern barber shop with classic traditions. First, this review is based off of one visit to King's Crown, and may not be representative of their overall work. I came in today to get my beard trimmed, and the service was great. I was offered coffee and water, and the appointment time was honoured. Unfortunately, the trim itself was poor. The barber left my moustache noticeably uneven. I would expect more attention to detail from a barber at this price point. Two stars for the stellar service staff. However, the trim itself was disapointing. King's Crown is close to my house and I was hoping for a better experience, but unfortunately this may be my first and last time.

When I entered the store, I felt rushed to get through the whole process as quickly as possible. I guess it was because I had an 8:15pm appointment and they wanted to close the store early (for 9pm). I have never been to kings crown so they never walked me through the process, I. E the difference between a noble cut or regular cut. They only asked me if I wanted additional services AFTER my horrific experience with the haircut. At which point, I felt thoroughly off put by the whole experience. My barber, treated me coldly and got me into the chair as quickly as possible. He made me hold my glasses, which in 30 years of getting a hair cut I have never had to do (and not something you should have to do for a $40 haircut). He made very, very little effort for small talk. He cut my hair, both top, sides and back with clippers. He started to use scissors, but they looked so dull he just gave up on them. Clippers were used for everything. He rushed through my haircut in about 8 minutes (even though the cut itself is supposed to take 25 minutes) and quickly washed my hair. In the process of washing my hair he splashed water into my eyes and left me to solve that problem. From a sanitary perspective NOTHING was in barbicide, nor looked like anything was ever in it which made me question the sanitary requirements of the shop. I never received the razor detailing. He pulled out an electric trimmer and cleaned the back of my neck up in 1 second. Once he finished putting product into my hair he turned the chair quickly and said, "okay you're done." with the expectation that I should get out of the chair. Hardly a goodbye and that was that. I was excited to try this place out from the reviews and the rating it received. Overall it's by and far the WORST haircut experience I have ever had.... Ever.

Really nice people over phone and easy to book things. The deluxe shave was not worth it, they spent 20-25 minutes not the advertised 45 minutes. It's fine that's what shaves tend to be at other places but I don't pay $65 at other places (in my experience - $30-40 usually). Busy day for them just seemed rushed to get to the next client. Their service is good it's just wayyyyyyy overpriced. Edit Dec 26, post-response: Appointment 1130, Arrived 1135 (they called at this time - checked call log - and I was almost outside their door, could have been 1136), in chair by 1137, done by noon (the earliest texts I had sent out from phone). Was initially told it was a 45 minute thing from 1130 to 1215. So in all fairness, my lateness (<7 minutes) included, the shave lasted 23 minutes, I was rushed about 15 minutes. Again, it's fine for a shave to last 23 minutes. Just for a "deluxe" shave where they charge $65 it wasn't worth it.

Coming in to this salon, I had high expectations based on online ratings and reviews I read. Unfortunately my experience was not the greatest. First, the coffee that I had asked for before my haircut started was never brought to me. I had to ask for it (again) at the end of my haircut, and it was then brought to me, cold. The haircut itself by the way, which was done by Benjamin, was great. He appeared to be new to the salon, but he visibly made an effort to make me feel comfortable. Sadly I cannot say the same about the employee who did my hand and scalp massage (I went in for the Noble cut). She often looked away from my hand as she was filing my nails (which resulted in her lacerating my skin very close to the nail bed with the filing tool), and she even fully stopped twice in the middle to chat with another barber who was getting his haircut. Overall I was left feeling like I was the least of her concerns. Due to the price of the package, and the quality of Benjamin's haircut, I give this place 4 stars. Sadly, I cannot give it more than that.

The people are nice however the haircut and service was not what we expected at all. My husband got the package which included the scalp and shoulder massage and fingernail cleanup, which he said lasted 30 seconds for all 3. He said the lady was more interested in selling products and additional services even though he had mentioned he didn't want any of it from the beginning. He mentioned that the haircut wasn't the worst, but defiantly not worth the money he paid -such a shame because we had higher expectations for this place.

I was excited to try out this new place, I wasn’t able to go to my previous barber because he was unavailable, so I thought I should try here. Showed a picture of my self with an undercut, and I got a alright haircut, what stopped me from giving them a higher review was because the whole process was done in 20 minutes or less, including the wash. (On the website it said 30 min). I felt rushed and unwanted. The second reason was my hair was blasted in product, I assumed my barber would either ask me if I wanted product on my hair or not. But he was having a conversation with another barber, too busy to care. Then used the great amount of product (hairspray and gel). The picture I showed him had no product. All he needed to do was take some more time to blow dry my washer hair. Overall three stars, was treated well by receptionist, the barber didn’t take his time on me and gave me an alright haircut. Not worth the price. Maybe others barbers are different.

Location is great. Reception staff is welcoming, professional and eager to please. Barbers are far from professional and need more training to command $40/men's haircut and $50/shave. There is no point paying $40/haircut when you can get same haircut for $20 tops. I rather pay extra $20 in tips for a good trim.

What a fantastic set up they have there, the products are not only highest of quality but very fashionable in a manly way. Marianne is very welcoming and hospitable offering tea/coffee and very engaging in conversation. My hair was cut and styled by Simon in addition to the straight razor shave i received. His professionalism and experience is evident is the overall finished look.. I am very pleased and will return without question. This place is probably the biggest scam. You get charged for a haircut and then charged for a beard trim and then on top of it you get charged again just so they can line it up. I paid $100 just for that and it wasn't even that good. A friend of mine goes to Yorkville to get her hair done and doesn't even come close to paying as much as i did LOL. My regular barber does it all for $22, crazy. You go here if you want to break the bank to get pampered. All these other people in the reviews are talking about service, like getting coffee made and stuff and its so amazing, You're going to get your haircut you're not going to sotto sotto.

Sat me down early, took his time finding out what I wanted, explained too me what needed to be done to achieve it, and never at any time did anything ever feel rushed. And the amount of products used/offered (beard oil, shampoos, conditioners, etc) makes the prices a real steal. I will be going again.

Excellent experience all-around! Will definitely be going back. I arrived a few minutes early for my appointment for 'Just the Cut'. The greeting at reception was very warm and friendly. I was offered water/coffee right away (I suspect if it was later in the day, they would have offered beer/wine as well). Vito was able to accommodate starting the appointment a little early. He took the time to understand what I was looking to have done to my hair (hard part pompadour), while offering suggestions along the way when I was unsure. He took care with the haircut, which came in right on time at 30 minutes. After washing my hair, he took his time styling it, offering me tips along the way for styling it at home. Much better styling job done after the cut than any of the numerous other barbers I have been to. Could go straight out afterwards if you needed to.

There is no other place to get my son's and husband's haircut done in Toronto. I've already tried several other places near my house and I always ended up coming back to King's Crown, even though I have to drive 30/45 minutes to get there. More than disappointing. Started by me booking an appointment and visiting for a beard trim. When I get there, the only stylist not working is the one I am assigned to. I tell her right off the bat that I need someone experienced. I have a really large beard. She very confidently reassured me that she is skilled and very seasoned and the receptionist made it seem like she paired me with her on purpose. In order to avoid her embarrassment, I went along with her. The first thing I said to her was that if she’s not comfortable dealing with a large beard, that I can wait for another stylist. I repeatedly tell her that she needs to be extremely careful and she needs to trim little by little to make sure she doesn’t cut too much. Told her I don’t want a cut, I just want it cleaned. She reassures me that every step she will ask for me to double check her work and says she knows how picky I am because she is the exact same way. The first cut. Took literally my entire beard off the right side of my face. I closed my eyes after that and didn’t open them until she was done. I honestly had nothing to say and nothing I said would have fixed what she has just done. I kept my mouth shut and sucked it up. No disrespect to the stylist, she’s very sweet and customer friendly but she clearly has never cut large beards and probably considers herself a beard expert because she’s good at cutting them off. I asked her why she did that? Her response was that Her way made me look better. No offer of drinks or refreshments either. I asked her that now since it’s so short, she may as well dye it. She responds with “unfortunately, we don’t have any more time, you only have 30 minutes” LOL. I will never come back here!

A pretty good barber shop, but nowhere near a "luxury grooming studio" (as they describe themselves). The cut and shave itself were quite well done and I'm happy with how my hair and beard look; however, the 'extras' - including the customer service - were entirely lacking. The rest is a description of my experience if you care to read it. When initially trying to book my appointment I called the studio twice and neither time did anybody pick up. I had to leave messages both times and wait to be called back. When I was called back the first time, no message was left, and I had to Google my missed call to know that it was Kings Crown returning my call. The second call back, I was able to pick up and, whomever I was speaking with, didn't even have the courtesy to tell me who they were or where they were calling from - they just started talking about an appointment; before I stopped to ask who was calling. After feeling rushed off the phone I felt like the person who called didn't quite understand what I was looking for, so I took it upon myself to email the studio to ensure I was booked for the right service - and it's a good thing I did, because in fact the lady with whom I was speaking did book me for the wrong services. As for the service itself, I ended up booking the 'Kings Crown Royal Treatment', and as I said before, the shave and trim were both well done. However, I never received the 'scalp and temple message', and even though I kept reading about a 'complimentary touch-up' not a word was said to me about it by anybody before, during or after my appointment. In short, the studio fell far short of any acceptable measure of "luxury". For a shave and a hair cut it seems like a fine place to go, but I would definitely recommend people stay away from the so-called "luxury" upgrades.

Very disappointed in this place. Service was good offered water or coffee upon entering but the cut itself was lackluster. I asked for a high fade and the barber gave me a 1 on the side and called it a day. The cut itself lasted 15 minutes and the wash was maybe a minute and wasn't anywhere near up to par with my expectations, especially with how much they are charging. Used to get regular haircuts here till about a year ago before i switched barbers, this place used to be really decent and classy all around. The cut i had today with Simon however made me not wanting to set foot in there again even if i had to. The actual manager of this place kept leaning next to my chair talking with my barber for 10 minutes of my 15 minute haircut. The other 5 minutes my barber kept talking to the intern or trainee that was there, And lucky for me there was just enough time for him to be bothered finish my haircut, all the while he was looking away as he was cutting my hair. Oh and you know how it’s common manners not to speak in your native language when the other person in the room doesn’t speak it ? Especially if that other person is a customer in your shop ? These people haven’t heard of it. At the end i was so frustrated and embarrassed i just wanted to leave that place i opted out of my hairwash. I feel like being scammed out of $45.
