Alright, gotta be honest on this one. As a man, I am extremely picky with how I look. I am constantly in the public eye and my job demands a professional no bs style. Old school fade that attaches to the beard with a razor part and a military styled comb over. They have NEVER disappointed. To me, they have become an institution of profesionalism, mens style, and just good old fashioned fun. And they have a new mascot, Whisky, a barber dog that is unfathomably well mannered that entertains the guests. The ladies there are very easy going and love to have a laugh, and anyone whose ever been to a barber shop knows the kind of barber talk that goes on. They'll roast you just for fun and it can be hilarious at times. I am a harsh critic, but I like to think I'm fair, and this place is a must recommendation. Over three years now and I keep a few cards in my wallet just in case!

My boys both have very long, thick hair and they did an excellent job with them. Even offered layering for them. However, I was refused service because I'm female despite being clear that I wanted a simple men's cut. My hair is already very short. Sylists and barbers are trained differently. I want a barber. I thought that a place with women barbers might respect me and actually do it right. What good is a policy that has no basis on the actual job?

Best barber shop in North Bay, friendly, polite and just around a nice place to get a cut.. professional and always with effort put in! To the person who complained about being asked by one of the barber's, what they could do for you....since it is a barber shop, do you think it's possible she was asking what kind of a hair cut you wanted? Like you said, what else could they do? This barber shop is widely regarded as one of the best barber shop's in the city. If the worst complaint you have is being asked what they can do for you, then maybe you just like looking for things to complain about. Carmine's Barber Shop has many satisfied customers. I decided to give this place a shot today, and I have to say I was amazed. It was such a friendly environment and Ashley really took her time and asked questions to understand exactly what I wanted. I go into Carmine's on a regular now and mostly get my haircut by Ashley. She is probably one of the best haidressers/barbers in town. I've also got my haircut from some of the other staff when Ashley isn't available and they all do a great job really. Everyone is super friendly, atmosphere is great and very reasonably priced. You won't be disappointed.

There are not many classic barber shops left however Carmine's is one of the few. They do free beard trims with a haircut too. They take there time and make sure your hair is perfect. Just a heads up they only accept cash so make sure you have some with you.

@Abid Rahman; I am not sure where you hail from but here in Canada, U.S.A and more over North America, when you enter a business that offers more than one service such as this one, (they offer haircuts, beard trims, hot neck shaves, eyebrow trims, mustache trims etc), it is a sign of respect to ask the patron ‘What can I do for you?’. Do you realize how ridiculous you sound when you say your complaint is that ‘they asked you what they can do for you’? – You don’t say you got a bad haircut or the service was terrible so I question your motive for writing this review and personally I think its suspect. These Barbers are the very best in class when it comes to cuts and any other service they offer. -Bob
