Lady with white hair who previously worked there was by far the best employee. Prices could be more flexible and they should work on being more negotiable as they make a few hundred at minimum with every sale regardless. Find it very disrespecting and condesending how they always say gold is high and that prices are going to rise when they aren't. It's a scam and clearly a selling technique of theirs. Not impressed

I have been going to this place weekly to specifically purchase movies for the better half of a year. My experiences have also been pleasant. All the staff are super nice and welcoming. One person in specific named Sebastian is pretty solid. He is extremely knowledgeable with the genre I favor and really is a big part of why I keep coming back. He makes excellent recommendations. I have purchased hundreds of movies from them and there prices are fair. There is another person there who is female and im not sure her name, my kiddo talks to her about her bracelet all the time. She is super awesome as well!!!! I totally rank this place 5 stars.

100 % bought a stolen phone from this place and they refused to take it back! it was black listed as you say on the shelf before i bought it, but i get stuck with it because you say the receipt says can't be returned , no doubt it says that cause ya buy and sell so many stolen phone's ya protect ya self's from loosing money, so make the customer suffer. thanks for the business!, not! You'll never get business from me, my family and friends again. Buyers beware buying from this business! Have a nice day!

Well, I brought in a classic guitar in hopes for a few hundred dollars, knowing if they were to sell it they could still make some money. I ended up getting about $100. So expecting to see it for sale for $250-300. I went in to look at a few items and the guitar I sold was marked at $800+tax! Absolutely disgusting and disrespectful to the customer. Straight highway robbery. After going in and speaking with management. They really did help me get my guitar back. We discussed a price that was deemed reasonable and fair to each. I appreciate the way my issue was handled and hopefully this helps others in the future. Thank you all at the hock shop for your kindness and help.

Good testing practice for electronics though some of the wording isn't as good as I would hope. Use of questionable power adapters or replacement parts to deem something as repaired or working or a complete kit should be reviewed. "Replacement" brand is not actually a certified UL or certified anything. Check out what you buy in its entirety.

The employees are very nice but most prices of games are the same brand new other then that everything is priced good. A $70.00 game they price for $60.00..... not much of a deal. I also bought GTA 5 from there for $55.00 and i pawned they only gave me $10.00

All their games have been resurfaced, so you don't have to pay a $3 fee like all the other hock shops in town to get them fixed. Tons of good prices, some xbox 360 games are 1$! Huge variety of games for various amounts of consoles. (Including retro systems) Can't wait to stop by again.

Submitted a request to have a list of 152 Game titles fulfilled. The staff here was kind and helpful and never made me feel like i was wasting their time or inconveniencing them. Probably the best hock shop i've been to in a long time. I come here all the time to pick things up and they made sure to go above and beyond, even sourcing titles i may have had an interest in. Overall, they managed to provide 53 titles of the 152. They would've had more, but i updated the list after procuring 44 titles through another vendor.

Best pawn shop in town and it's not even close. They have excellent customer service, great prices, and a wide variety of items for sale. Every time I walk in the store I'm greeted by name and treated like I'm an important customer even though I don't spend a lot of money. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, but not pushy or in your face. Always someone there to help me when I have a question. Not too long ago I was having some financial problems. Andrew in purchasing helped me secure a small loan that cured my short term cash flow problems, but didn't put me so far behind that I would risk losing my items that I had hocked. He was very professional and fair, and really went out of his way to make sure that I got a good deal. I really can't say enough good things about this place. Whether you're buying, selling or looking for a loan, this is the place to go in North Bay. I had such a good experience there today that I felt compelled to write up my first Google review. Thank you everyone at the Hock Exchange.

Terrible service. I lied to about my item. They told me they would be lucky to get 100-120$. They offered me $40. I WAS a regular customer. I looked at what they posted it for... $299+tax. I'm disgusted with how they treat people. I now go see Ed at ROCKWELL'S located across from td on main st. They are nice and friendly. Most importantly, honest! I hope people read this and never go in there. After all, if you dont treat customers with respect. You have no business. If I can save one person from going there. This post was worth it.

The manager Jeff is a nightmare, extremely unpleasant. I've never met someone as patronizing and smug as this man. Out of numerous and numerous visits pretty well all of them were dissapointing, the final tipping point for me though was when I negotiated a very fair price on a piece of jewellery (that has been sitting in that store for years, about as long as I can remember). I told the sales rep that I would be back the next day to pick it up, when I arrived the next day she was not working so unfortunately I had to deal with the twisted manager. I explained that I was in the other day and that a price was agreed upon, he claimed that because the price of gold was on the rise (if you have half a brain you can understand the stock market especially gold can rise and drop every second, and in this case gold was up less than a dollar a gram from the previous day; keep in mind this little con artist likes to use that line a lot) his conclusion was that it was now worth $400 more. Oh! And they could care less about consistent customers, I've spent about $8000 at this store and I still can't even be taken seriously. I truely think their initiative is not to make sales but to mock, and condescend their customers. I've tried consistently to support them as they are a local business and we don't have much in this little city but I give up and wouldn't recommend this store to anyone just because of Jeff, they have other staff that are occasionally rude as well but much easier to deal with than him. On top of that some (not all) of the staff are extremely ignorant to what they're even doing. To add on top of all the dissapointment if you try to sell them something they will give you such a low ball offer that's it's almost insulting. I could go on for a while I don't think there's anything good to say about this store, they sell some items for close to retail. If you don't like getting scammed out of your valuables I suggest Kijiji.

Great pawn shop. Someone always greets you on the way in the door, staff are always plentiful and available when you have questions, selection is large and the prices are fair. They're also clean and organized. Everything is alphabetical so it's easy to browse.

Went there to buy back my laptop today for $260. Was due on sept 14th so I was late by 4 days. In the past I was charged 2% /day that I was late but this time instead of paying $20 in late fees they said I had to pay for another month $60. I have been pawning my stuff here for about 2yrs now and expected better customer service than this. This is not the 1st incident about a year ago they sold my headphones because they put it under another name. We did come to an agreement for a different colour that they had in stock but I wish now that I made them purchase a brand new headphone. Hope the extra $40 they made off me was worth it because I will NEVER go into this business again and I will tell everyone. DON'T GO TO HOCK EXCHANGE

The chat function (with a real human person, not a bit) should be adopted by more businesses.

As a regular customer, I am always greeted by name, and greet the staff by name. I am always helped with the utmost level or professionalism but am interacted with like a friend. Whether or not I make a purchase, all staff members are awesome to shoot the bull with for a few minutes before I leave. DON'T SUPPORT THIS HOCK SHOP!!!! Went in there the other day with brought in an item with me that Retails brand new for a few hundred dollars and used is still worth $250. However the staff membe behind the counter was extremely snoody and rude. Following with the excuse of saying he knows hands down it wasn't worth much ( even tho I pulled it up online on my phone to show proof ) than proceeded to tell me he would only give me a couple bucks for it and that anymore than that he'd be losing money bcuz they could only sell it in the store for $1 more than what he offered me. Than tried to tell me he looked it up online and it was showing for him it was worth less than even the $5 he offered. This hock shop is absolutely ridiculous and they will without a doubt rip you off ( or try too) without giving a damn. If you want to be treated like a human and respected and not just be taken advantage of GO TO ROCKWELLS PAWN SHOP( where they actually do care and are there to simply help you out when needed or whatnot.) I repeat DO NOT GIVE Canadian hock exchange your BUSINESS OR ANYTHING.!!!!!
