I have been seeing Kelsie at Chatters for color and haircuts for over a year here in Vernon and she is AWESOME! I had a boxed hair dye disaster and she was able to fix it and make it look beautiful. Most recently I had an appointment and wanted to go from blonde to brunette, and she did a phenomenal job! She is super kind-hearted and easy to talk to, and makes the time in the chair enjoyable and fun. She also gives great recommendations on products. Showed her two photos and still ended up with a haircut that did not match the photos. Will never return to this podunk chatters. What was worse. Listening to her nonstop talking about nonsequential mediocre stuff or watching her hack my hair and constantly reminding her what I wanted. She does not know how to layer or trim. My bill was 54 for a measly 2 inch trim and asked for long layers. I told her I dont need it styled. She went ahead anyway and styled it. So upset with this location.

First of all I am giving 5 large sparkly stars to Heidi. I recently saw Heidi for a big transformation. Heidi was professional and experienced. She considered my feeling first and helped me get the haircut I didn't know I always wanted. Heidi is new to Vernon and, Vernon we are lucky. My only negative comment is about the store front. I think removing some product and reducing the congestion of the shelves would make social distancing easier.

Chatters told my 15 yr old daughter that they would do a free consultation for her and her friend to see if highlights would work in their hair, which had been henna'd a year ago. When the girls arrived for their scheduled appointment the next day, (they walked 1/2 hour to get there) Chatters staff said the appointment was cancelled because they had to speak to their manager about doing a free consultation? They also said they would call my daughter back about re-scheduling the appointment but never did. The highlights were going to be paid for by me as part of a birthday gift to my daughter. Her friend was using some of her savings to pay for her highlights and the girls had been really excited to get this done before school started. This Chatters experience left them feeling confused and sad. Really disappointed with this very strange behavior. I give them an F for FAIL. PS. No option for zero stars or that's what I'd give.

I was very pleased with staff and my haircut 3 mths. ago.The hairdresser Lynn fixed First Choice's really bad haircut.She did a wonderful job and only cost $10.00 more than First Choice.I'm going in tomorrow July 18 th to get yet another bad hair cut fixed and they are fitting me in.I have nothing but praise for this place. I find a hairdresser cannot read your mind if you do not want gel in your hair then tell them just that.I don't like Joico products and they are fine with that and use something else.I don't like hair spray so they don't use it on my hair but I had to mention what I don't like they cannot read my mind.

Robert is a fantastic hairdresser. He got creative and helped me find the best color for my hair. I went from dark to blonde in 3 separate color appts over 6 months. The color blonde I have now is the final color in my journey as he picked the best color for me and I won't need to do anything more than roots in the future. He has a great knack for determining what color and cut is the most suited for your skin tone. Chatters also gave me a free bottle of hand lotion just for going to them to have my hair done, they offer amazing service!

Sadly I wouldn't even give them one star. The customer service is okay. However my boyfriend had a very bad experience first time going there. He specifically instructed the hairdresser to not show skin, and the first thing that was done was a cut right to his scalp. He was extremely unhappy with the cut but returned hoping for a better experience. This last time he went, the back of his neck was very uneven and not much attention was paid overall to the cut. I ended up fixing it for him. Conversation could be much better. He didnt enjoy hearing life stories, including some inappropriate content. He wont be going back here.

I've been going to this salon for years... and I have NEVER had a bad experience. The new store only adds to my enjoyment. I love that you're greeted immediately, I love that all the hairdressers acknowledge you and I love having my hair done by Peter. I've found that they're all very modern, and very current...I appreciate that a number of them are heavily involved with hair shows as well as their own photography, it shows continuous growth as a hair stylist, and I like that they're willing to change with the times. I've made special trips home just to get my hair done by Pete as no one ever gets it quite as right:)

Absolutly terrible. The atmosphere isn't bad, and the prices for the products are fine. However if you want what I went in there for, a haircut... I asked for a simple trim, so my hair would be shorter for convection at CNC. Instead I had my hair styled so that when it started growing out more I had an afro. I did not ask for that. Nor did I ask for the hairdresser to put product in my hair. I don't like gel in my hair. Buy your hair products here, but don't go in for a haircut.

I usually don't leave negative reviews on things. I will say, the hairdressers are very skilled at what they do (the ones I have met, anyhow) and I appreciate the work they do greatly, because I can't do it myself. However, social skills on all parts seem to be lacking? They really don't converse well with customers. Again, at least the ones I have met. It all is either non-existent, or terribly forced. I understand, it's tiring to gab all day. I work in the mall too, almost every day. I'm a salesperson. It'd just be nice to not feel like I have to force a conversation that's awkward from the get-go. I'm also curious to know why my initial haircut was cheaper than getting a trim? Different hairdressers. My initial haircut was cut from an overgrown completely shaved head, with a bit of a fade on the sides and well-razored sort-of-mohawk on the top. Getting this shortened after a few months and cleaned up (I shave the sides and back myself) cost me $11 more? It seems odd to me. Anyhow, no complaints about their work. If you want a nice haircut, I do still reccomend going here.

My daughter and I went in for a haircut and the stylist working on my hair was young with purple tipped hair and she was great, she was friendly and super nice took the time to talk to me. The older women that cut my daughters hair was aweful she didnt fully rinse her hair then basically shoved her out of her chair. My daughters hair was soaking wet I was super angry with that hairdresser and will never return. Flowers for the young girl and rotten tomatoes for the old bag at the end!

I was at Prince George for only a few days for my step daughter's wedding and l need it to find a place to get my hair. That's why l went to Chatters. I went for a loose hair updo and even showed the sample hair on the picture. I end up having something else. Stylist even said " l don't know have to do loose updos !" (by the way this is after few times trying updo) I even told her nicely is there anyone can help, if you don't know how!! She offended and said "l am the senior here." Anyway, long story short, l felt very stressed at the some point, l wanted to get up and leave, so l can do something else my self but, l felt bad for stylist, because l knew she was stressed, and she was trying her best. Instead of half and hour, l left 1,5 later. I am sure she and l will never forget this. Just a message for her and others. It is ok if you do not know!! Just don't stress yourselves and others. Let the experts do.

The salon itself is clean with a please t atmosphere without being pretentious. The store portion stocks hundreds of different hair care products from popular brands well displayed and lit. The website allows you to book appointments not only locally in Nelson but across the country at any chatters location handy for those who may be traveling and don't want to miss a regularly scheduled appointment or need a trip before an event or business meeting. Prices are competitive with other salons of course women's appointments usually cost more than a man's. You can have an account created to keep track of appointments purchases a d receive notifications of sales or upcoming appointments. The staff are overall bubbly and friendly and most important do good work. Because of the location the hours are better than many other salons because of drop ins and foot traffic from people shopping.

Kenzi just did my hair yesterday afternoon. I had come in prior for a hair consultation where she had so much knowledge and expertise and even with my lack of understanding of my own hair, made me feel so much better about it! Honestly, I went in with a good expectation, but came out with such an above expected service! Kenzi answered all my questions about the process, about what I was and wasn't doing correctly to my hair during hair care, explained what she was doing and what would happen, as well as how it would come out. I was in chatters the other day. I actually come quite often. And all I can say is all these girls are constantly on their cell phones or using the phone for personal calls which I find very unprofessional. Something needs to be done with this management. It’s not just one girl I’ve seen about 5 of your girls texting and gossiping at the counter or at the back when they’re not busy. It’s a business not high school. (And yes the south land mall)

Bought a nail product and took it home. Researched it and found it to be one of the most toxic formulas out there. Took it back and they refused a refund, stating it's printed on the bill. Well there are at least 27 lines of very small text (about 150 words) at the bottom of the bill. The very last line mentions nail products... Really! Who reads all that? Huh? Nobody. They could see I was a Newby when I bought it. Goodbye to $22. Not fair!

I went into this chatters in village Green mall. I have been going to this store on and off for over ten years. I had a terrible and uncomfortable experience recently and I will not be returning. I stopped into the store to buy semi permanent hair color and shampoo. The women working there were very short with me and very rude. Fine. I ignore this because it's not worth getting worked up over. I start looking at the shampoo, searching for a specific box set and also browsing leave-ins. And I noticed the tall woman with brown hair, very skinny, just following us around. I'm native and I know exactly what this was about. They did not treat my white boyfriend with this same suspicion when he came into the store a week prior and the same women were working. I believe that these women racially profiled me , she followed me around the whole store, watching my every move, did not ask if I needed help. I ended up spending over 170$ on hair products alone. I will not be returning to this place. I have never been treated this way by your staff in all my years coming to your store. This is the first time I was genuinely uncomfortable and felt as though I wasn't even allowed to be in here. Do better. I'll buy my semi permanent online now.

I went there approx 2 weeks ago to get my 4 year olds hair trimmed. My daughter was stubborn and wanted nothing to do with it, the lady was so patient with us and kept a positive attitude. Just paid over 400$ for a dye job that I didn't want. I showed multiple pictures of light brown to blonde hair. Specifically said I do not want dark brown. I got nearly black roots, and the blonde parts are grey. The blending is very minimal, very very unhappy. Not only did I waste 400$, 5 hours of my life. My once beautiful blonde hair is now awfully black. Never coming back.
