Through social media I heard amazing things about this place. I encouraged my boyfriend to go and try it out. He had an appointment with Otto and was there for approximately 45 mins. He described the appointment as the best one yet. He is usually disappointed after haircuts as he feels that stylists never truly understand what he is looking for. However, this time was very different! Otto examined his hair prior to cutting and made sure he got exactly what he was looking for. He is thrilled with the end result and has already told me he is definitely going back. From the experienced described by my partner, I would highly recommend others to check this place out! Thanks Otto, the cut looks great :)

I like the shop and like the barbers. Result always good. The only thing that's not good is that you can make online appointments. Have done that 5 times now for certain times. Their system follows up with about 5 e-mail and text reminders. However, you always have to wait 30 minutes after arrival and just do first-come first-serve.

Great barber shop! I used to go to crazy expensive salons or 'discount' chain barbershops and thought I would try out this local place that was a couple minutes from my house. They're fantastic barbers and just a great bunch of guys who are fun to talk to and have hilarious banter. I had Colin cut my hair and it came out exactly how I had described. Would highly recommend men of any age to come check this place out

This is my new go-to barbershop! I walked in to check it out and was seated immediately. I described what I wanted and they delivered. Booked a beard trim here and did not indicate the barber, thinking that, logically, the barber most proficient will pick up a booking. Appointment was booked with Neil. Contrary to a lot of reviews, my appointment started on time and Neil was very apologetic that i had to wait a few minutes, which is absolutely not a big deal. Beard trim turned out awful, instead of a slight trim and making the beard accurate, he took of almost all of the hair on my patchy sides and left the chin untouched and unkempt. Greased it up with ridiculous amount of beard oil ( maybe to cover the impact of the "trim"? lol) I had an interview 2 days later and had to go to another barber to rectify the horror which my beard has become. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is that the guys haircut before me, done by Neil looked sharp, and I guess he knows how to cut hair, but do not go to him for the beard trim.

Neil the barber is a master at his craft, he makes you appreciate the technical details of barbering and what it takes to give a good haircut. Him and the staff are also very friendly. The pricing is relatively higher than some other barber shops but definitely well worth the investment

Coming into the Barbershop, I always feel a warm welcome. The Shop is Super clean, and always good vibes. I truly dig the little subtle Oldschool touches from the signage, and OG Barbershop chairs. I switched over from another reputable Shop. But, I thought it was time for a change. From now ons, My go to Barber is Scott. Has been doing so for almost a year. I usually get a cut, and fade, with a proper line-up. And always come out feeling like a new man. The best part is going to work the next day, Seeing the smiling Ladies. For the price this place is absolutely garbage. I got a haircut I'd expect from a $10 barber shop and this was supposedly the head barber.. Guy was very nice but damn he gives a sloppy cut. Also the workplace environment felt a bit awkward.. generally in a barbershop of this level there is a specific environment you'd expect.. not the case. There was tension in the air for sure.

Worth the few bucks extra for the quotation craftsmanship and experience. I usually go with Frankie, a barber. He is concert with making sure that people leave looking good and feeling good. He's been barbering in Newmarket for over 20 years!

A heads up to anyone looking to go here, you need to make an appointment or else you will waste your time waiting. Walked in and was asked if I had an appointment, said I didn't and was told to just take a seat in the waiting area. Left after waiting an hour and a half. I'm sure the haircuts are great based on reviews, but if this is the experience for someone that walks in then just have a sign saying you don't take walk in customers. Also a note for any parents as I saw multiple young kids getting their haircut, they played rap music that would be considered "explicit" and in no way appropriate for such young kids to hear.

Walked in around lunch, had Otto as my barber and he did a great job! I gave him a pretty vague description of what I wanted and basically let him handle it. Ended up lookin' pretty sharp! Atmosphere was cool, the guys in there were friendly. At first I thought it was a bit expensive, but the cut took about an hour and the level of precision justified the price, it probably even warranted a bit more money. I'd recommend this place. First word when I think of Timothy street barbershop? Spectacular! Watch out other newmarket barbershops this shop is raising the bar with quality cuts (sharp, on point, strategic, bring strong knowledge + experience to the table), friendly barbers who create a solid experience. My personal barber, Otto is the man, the first barber who is focused on making sure his clients are 100% happy before leaving, ive received cuts from a number of barbers + I am particular about my hair and Otto is by far the top barber I have encountered. I went to Timothy Street Barbershop for the first time. A friend recommended them. My barber was Frankie. He is a a friendly guy and he cut my hair exactly the way I wanted! The first time in a new place is always worrisome because it takes at least one try for the barber to know exactly how you like it. One can't expect perfection on the first try. However, I lucked out with Frankie. He gave me an excellent cut and he was an excellent conversationalist.

I’ve been going to this barber shop as well as the owner Colin’s other place in town, Studio Five for a number of years. Never had anything but amazing service. I also really respect how they’ve adjusted during COVID. Everything is well distanced and amazingly clean. I’ve always had my hair cut and beard trimmed and it’s always such great service. Kudos to Colin and his team for getting through what has been a challenging time no doubt. Frank was the first to cut my hair at Timothy Street Barber. Was a very kind and welcoming gentlemen and I was hooked in the new type of barber style this gentlemen had brought to the hair industry. Shortly after they had moved around the corner and renamed Ontario barber shops, i had booked an appointment and had it confirmed with the manager named Scott. He had passed me off to a stylist named Jason for my cut. When I arrived, Scott didn't acknowledge me, staring at his phone swiping on some tinder fever with no one at reception. As i asked and said I had an appt for Jason, he pointed with his head down to the back. Jason kindly was already walking and guided me ti his station to cut my hair. Beyond pleasant and kind and very comfortable, he designed and created a ridiculous cut and style for me. With the outcome, I tipped him twice my cut price. The manager Scott was quite irritated based on the look from his face, which baffled me ad I didn't realize he could look up from his phone. I rebooked 3 weeks later for another cut with Jason. 2.5 weeks later Jason reached out personally to let his clients know he was at a new place and that he was welcoming anyone that enjoyed his service. As above explained, I set up an appt immediately. As I was getting a cut, frank (the original barber cut I had) was beside him, they explained they were let go yet reasons were exactly unreasonable. As I was getting my cut, my phone rang from the barber shop, it was Scott, he asked why I missed my appt, I said because Jason said he couldn't cut. He explained Jason was let go and so was frank for complications. I said I find that odd that I'm in the chair now with frank and Jason getting a cut right now. Scott was completely rude, aggressive, threatening, and completely embarrassing in front of the entire other salon that we all had such a laugh I believe I developed a 6 pack of abs. By far Scott is a creature with no manners and a pathetic snake attitude like Kai from the jungle book. Anyways, I posted a picture from the legendary Timothy street barber founders Frank and Jason and a $100 tip for each individual for being loyal to their clients and simply kind good hearted people just trying to be real in the world. And yes. $@#% barber shop on main

Love this place, I always get a great cut. There is a friendly and cool atmosphere. You can tell these guys all really care about what they do and really look after their clients. I get people asking me two and three weeks after my haircut if I’d just gotten my hair cut because it looks good. No where else I’d go than here.

So I’m not to sure why this so called barber shop is in business ? There are so many places opening up calling themselves barber shops and are jokes. I’ll tell you why. I’m 57 years old and have had a million shaves in various great and not so great barber shops. Never have I been nicked. The dude. Ritz is what they call him. Cut me not once not twice but not three times. 4. TIMES. I got up from the chair he said to me. Sorry I nicked you. Hahaha. Really?? Only once? Idiot nicked me 4 times. I have never been nicked in 56 years going to the barber. He made up for it in one visit. Owner offered me a refund. A refund. Imagine that? A refund. So bad. Don’t go there if you like your own blood to say inside of you.

We just had the best barbershop experience! My 5 year old son doesn't enjoy haircuts. Neil changed that today! He was able to sit on a skateboard deck ("so cool, mom!") And was entertained the whole time. Neil did an excellent job while playing I Spy with both my kids. We've (finally) found our go-to!

But my haircut was awesome and my barber, Neil, was an amazing gentleman; so I give him 5 stars. He listen carefully to know exactly what you want and deliver.
