Here we offer you the opinions of real people like you who consumed the products of Robinson's General Store (Barber Shop) near to the area of Moose Factory (Canada).
At the moment the firm has a rating of 4.6 over 5 and the rating has been calculated on 127 reviews.
As you can see it has an average rating is almost the top, and it is based on a large number of feddbacks, so we may say that the valuation is quite faithful. If there are many people who bothered to value when they've done well with the service, it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to place tatings when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Barber Shop belongs to the category of General store.
I love stopping here. Don't forget, back in the 80s, they were rated the top country store in Canada (I think as voted by the readers of The Toronto Star).
Awesome, get everything you need in one place including some gifts. Hardware, groceries, gifts. Clean pleasant staff. Free parking, ample parking. Must go
Oh yeah, love this place! Every visit feels like home.
My family have been going to Dorset at least once every summer since I was little. We climb the tower and go to Robinson's General Store. We have a lot of great memories together of this place. :)
Great staff , almost everything you need for the weekend at the cottage.
Just about everything one could conceivably need for just about anything. There is hardware, furniture, grocery, produce, books, toys, and a fair amount of cottage kitsch. Staff are friendly and atmosphere is pleasantly cosy for a retail location. It is often crowded, however.
Need to work on not selling expired food. Very not impressed with the recent and obvious drop in quality...and of course the prices seemingly went up.
Fantastic , complete store , love it
Just loved the place a must see
Award winning general store for good reason! They also have all the Muskoka memorabilia you could ask for!
Great little store. Has whatever you need for cottage emergencies and some great fashion finds. I found one of my best swimsuits there.
Great dock, the store has everything the liquor store doesn't have.
Great spot! Friendly staff, some cool local stuff.
Warm, kind, helpful and friendly service. A great selection of items including amazing local and artisan products.
Great selection, friendly staff.
Excellent staff! Excellent store!!
Everything from kitchen utensils to scallion potato loaf to hand picked wild blueberries (steep $10 per quart) refillable water station and hardware store adjacent.
Fun store. Covid safe.
This place has everything. The staff is kind and helpful!
Nice to visit this shop but cheesy tourist products for sale, things you might use once but never again. Wanted to get ice cream cones here but had to go across the street for that. Very beautiful through the narrows.
Nice general store that takes you back in time.
Nostalgia. Been visiting since I was a kid in cottage country. Big selection
Total convenience with a small town flair. Bait, tackle, groceries, clothing, souvenirs, and a great presentation of local artisan offerings. We'll worth the stop!
Worth a visit! Has anything you could ever need! Has door handles from the old Robinson's Department store in Hamilton.
This store is unassuming on the outside and huge on the inside! They have everything you could possibly need and more, no need to drive into Huntsville to hit Walmart for your groceries
This is really great store. Fantastic selection.
Phenomenal product selection and love the country charm!
A proper general store with bits of everything. Clothing, home goods, hardware, groceries. Truly a one stop shop.
The hardware section of the general store, is what separates it from this store from a convenience store. Unfortunately the hardware available is often insufficient. Too bad. It used to be a be a place that felt like a dependable destination.
Fantastic store! Expensive but understandably. Very friendly staff and great selection of food and knick-knacks. Free coffee is always enjoyable.
Anything and everything you could ever want in the Country Store
Great hometown store. Staff is very friendly
The place is legendary. Always amazing to me how they have all of the things you need in a relatively small store. I've purchased two water pumps, wood stove & pipe, water heater elements, water filters, water pipe, plumbing fittings and an untold number of other things and never been disappointed.
Awesome people, great place and have everything!!
Very kind staff. Beautiful store as well. Coming from a big city, this place felt like going back in time.
Fantastic store! A bit of everything and a favorite spot to visit. Hardware, clothes, decor, grocery store etc...
Lots of stuff including food and souvenirs. A lot bigger than it looks from the outside.
Great fun little store, doesn't hurt they are the only store for miles!
Heard alot about robinsons, and while visiting checked out what they had to offer. Gifts were slim chouce and very pricey. 15.00 for 1 pair of socks for example. Seems a bit much. Their clothing wasnt much selection to look at. It was hyped to be a better place than it was when i visited on my fall vacation.
Pretty neat multi-level shop with lots and lots of different things to peruse. Not all of it was overpriced, which kind of surprised me. Something for everyone here, but they don't sell tobacco (I was looking for cigars).
Unique gifts and clothing, groceries, hardware.. truely a general store!
The store was closed otherwise I was going to buy some maps as souvenir
A little confusing in the store but they have it all.
Helpful staff awesome fun store !
This is a stop we always make at the cottage. Unique gifts, all the groceries you need and the LCBO is around the corner. Go by boat, kids love that part the best.
This place is great. I even worked here as a kid.
Great store, has everything you'd need
"Voted Canada's best country store" so say the signs... I agree! A little of everything. Groceries, hardware, toys, clothing, knick knacks, etc.
Such a fun store to go to!
This is quite a store. Downdown Dorset is quite something. It is tiny and has a lot to offer. Stunning views, right around the hardware store, and the hardware store itself are worth visiting this town. If you can afford to buy a cucumber for $5.00, you are pretty well set and don't have to go to anywhere else, for anything. Inside you find a hardware corner, a Christmas corner (just in case...), isles with freezers and coolers, home made jams and preservatives, a bakery, fresh products, a deli counter, a souvenir department bigger than any Trading Post in the area, fresh produce, and the list goes on and on. If you dare walking up those stairs, you end up walking through a gallery of pictures for sale and a cloths boutique with the cute name "Red Onion". Cottage cloths, cottage jewelry, nighties, Santa clause pyjamas and a lot more of such fun awaits you there. You really need a map for this store. It's easy to get lost. So, don't leave before you can be sure you have seen it all. Thanks for the free coffee!
It had lots but a little over priced
Super cute store and sweet staff
Whatever you need...they have it...even a stuffed owl..hammer..jewelry; they have it all! Great produce too!
Great store! Slightly overpriced
Robinson's has to one of the best general stores around. They have something for everyone. Knick-knacks, slippers, puzzles, souvenirs, kitchen paraphernalia and an area for children's toys. Everyone has been super friendly and helpful. The prices are of course a bit higher than in the city but that is to be expected and I for one like to support local businesses when on vacation. Every summer I look forward to what they have in stock.
Great experience in Dorset the all you could ever need shopping destination.
Great store, great staff
Always a treat. Lots of staff....lots of stuff. The ultimate General Store.
Great atmosphere. Prices are a bit higher, but thats expected
Great wide variety of items for sale, especially specialty and essential items. Cons: very pricey. Expect a 2-2.50/4$ increase in price for items you could regularly find at a different store in a bigger township/city.
If you are looking for something unique, keep going. If you are looking for a true general store then this is the place.
Robinson's has always been a favorite summer stop of mine since the 1970s. Haliburton wouldn't be complete without its charm!
Really great selection of food. Plus lots of extras, and some souvenirs if that's your thing.
Small, cute store.
Great place to pick up some unique souvenirs
It is a signature store. Beside its unique ambient, the staff are so friendly, kind and helpful. Must be Muskoka people culture. Highly recommend. Make sure you visit the second floor, they have nice souvenir shop there.
Pretty like general store, everything from groceries to hardware to local home James jams and other gift like souvenirs.
Quaint store in the Lake of Bay town of Dorset. Well stocked with food, gifts clothing and hardware. LCBO next door.
Always LOVE going to this store!!! Always find something unique that I just have to have
You can get a lot of what you need for every day use
Lots of goodies here, apparently voted the best country store in the Canada which I wouldnt agree with but it's worth a short detour to check out the pelts like the one in the photo posted and to see the niknaks for sale.
Cool place. Lots to look at.
Great staff. Fun place to shop and browse
Grocery shopping completed, along with some really fun souvenirs ????!
A sign on the way north say "voted Canada's #1 ..." it's true; it is a pretty great country store!
So much too look at, big place with 2 floors. I could spend lots of money in there. I behaved!!
As always, great service and everything you need to keep your cottage running.
Very nice little variety store. You will find the basics for what you need at the cottage. Very clean, and the staff is very friendly. Aside from groceries, there is a general store with clothes, and other similar merchandise. Convenient location right near the local LCBO.
Great store. Friendly staff. One stop shop for anything you will possibly need and then some!
Delightful store and friendly staff
Adorable, iconic store. It is a must-visit.
Cute store, interesting findings in there. Amazing place to buy some locally made things.
Overpriced, but one of the last places that puts customer service first.
A store with almost everything you need. Food and gifts for everyone.
Interesting store to visit. Teller was very polite.
This store is very well stocked from fresh produce to souvenirs. Highly recommend them.
A fun cottage country store with a great selection.
This store is truly great. Its got such a great selection and decent pricing. The array of supplies, groceries, camping, fishing, hardware supplies is fantastic. I literally came here and found all that I needed and more stuff that I didn't think I'd find. Having fresh produce in a market setting is awesome and this place is the epitome of "General" store. This place is a must visit location on your way through or to your destination. Parking is available and near the smallish and friendly LCBO. The gift shop alone is extensive. I'm looking forward to coming back up this way and part of it is shopping here.
Staff always helpful and friendly, variety of everything you may want and more.
Nice place to grab an ice cream cone during the summer!
Always friendly caring people in the store anytime of the day!
Great store with friendly staff and most everything we need.
Great place to shop.
Just amazing ❤️ a must see!!
A must on a northern drive, this place epitomizes the Muskoka region !
Place has been perfect my whole life. 30yrs and counting never anything but the best service
Robinson's has pretty every single thing you may need, and many things you may just want. Friendly staff, great bakery and home cooking too..it's just an all around great place!
The little country store that has it all! My family has been local and loyal for 23 years.
Great store for whatever you may need, with friendly staff.
A lot of stuff. From food to clothes to paintings. A must visit
This place used to be nice, now it seems like a layer of dust is covering everything, carts and boxes stored in the isles. Generally just a big messy mess. Could use a really good cleanup.
Good selection, prices a bit too high...
Friendly staff, wide variety of products for the whole family.
Great family run general store. Everything from all foods, bakery, deli items, hardware, kitchen items, textiles, clothing, and souvenirs. One stop shopping in a beautiful scenic area. Boaters on Lake of Bays even have the convenience of boating in to the dedicated docks for the store.
Small place but great selection and product diversity. Friendly staff and lots of fresh baked goods. Best general store in the area for sure!
Love this store! The freshly baked cheese bread is the BEST
Unique and full of bargains and everyday needs.
Everything under one roof! We were there late in the day, Sunday. Most of the bakery goods were sold but what was left was very fresh. Gift shop itmes are reasonably priced and there were rare items to be had. Very friendly and patient employees. Shopping there is an experience!
I’m the lady heading to the checkout with the rest of the store-baked pizza buns! This is the all time one stop shop. From the home hardware with a vast plumbing selection, to the upstairs clothing store which carries Canadian made leather by Adrian Klis, to the impressively stocked jigsaw puzzle selection. And, it’s “voted Canada’s best general store”! Not sure who voted, but I’d give them my ballot.
Great little store with some unique gifts. One of my fave places to visit.
Nice place with a wide variety of goods, including groceries.
Great variaty of stuff..priced are a little high
Very nice store, got most everything you need
I was lured by the posts about fresh corn but I waited too long. Drats! The staff are so friendly and eager to help. They make it a pleasure to shop.
A great store and fun to visit. Unfortunately some of the sales associates have an attitude problem. Luckily on my last visit the associate was very nice.
The maze like set up of this iconic store adds to the 'treasure hunt' charm of the place. Actually very useful for the cottagers in the area with pretty much everything you could need in a pinch (albeit at a slight premium): groceries, hardware store, Nick nacks etc.
Such a cute place friendly staff love the gift section
Lots of nice stuff. Bought some gifts. Cashier could have been friendlier.
You just need to experience it. Been going here my whole life.
Great store to visit. Lots of options from food to hardware for the cottage.
Great service everytime always a pleasure going there
It’s a nice general store. If you’ve never been to a store like this it’s worth the visit. It is not the best priced but I would assume that’s because it’s a small town store. They have everything. A hardware store, a grocery store, crafts etc.
I love this store. I am shopping there for the past 16 yrs.
What a wonderful store with good quality local food (&coffee) choices & clothes for every family member
Quaint little general store. Close to the lake and great for quick run ins or full shops
This is a great place for last minute shopping. The staff is helpful and friendly????
This is a small town store experience not to be missed. Dorset's main drag is centred around the bridge over the Lake of Bays. Robinson's general store is the heart of Dorset, and combines a Foodland grocery store, a Home Hardware and a traditional "we-sell-everything" variety store. Staff are friendly, plentiful and knowledgeable. A rare treat.
It certainly is big! Excellent variety of country products from jams to fudge to maple syrup. Lots of gift items and a full grocery store. The bakery was pretty empty though.
A great source for the area and now after 100 years in business, new owners are adding their personal touch and doing it well.
Lovely store! Lots to browse with great prices.
Awesome little general store
Great store. Has everything you need when visiting the area.
Second time visiting this store. The second time I have been treated like I was imposing. The cashier was eating while I was checking out .. do they not get breaks? I said thank you twice with no reply. I understand it must be hard with everything that's going on but we are in this together a friendly hello and your welcome wouldn't go a miss Visited again today and found it to be a bad experience. People were not friendly at all. I was greeted with "want a bag?" No hello..no how are you..it was early so it was not because it was busy. Not sure how it was voted the best!!!
Something for everyone! A main attraction in the beautiful town of Dorset ????
Always stop in on way to lake of bays. Unique store in area. Have been coming for many years. While some changes over the years I am sure owners will build on great history & add some new features.
Worms right next to groceries.
Great selection of food, cottage stuff and friendly staff...fair prices! Love it!
Great store to explore. Large variety of goods from great gifts to clothing, footwear, toys yummy preserves and grocery store all in one Must ser
Always enjoyed taking a trip to Robinson's but do find prices a bit high
Robinson's was voted Canada's best general store. It is quite a charming place to shop. Great selection of groceries and even the fruits/veggies are fresh, varied, and plentiful. The store also has a little butcher shop on site, and the meats look great. The little gift shop has lots of interesting items and souvenirs for all ages. I was so dazzled by it all that I never went upstairs to explore. Saving it for next time.
Great store. Something for everyone
Robinsons is always amazing. Great staff, usually well stocked, city prices
Such a fun store with everything under one roof.
Lots to see and shop for. Great stop shop
Cute store. Lots of great nick knacks. Prices a bit high but I'm sure that's because of the location
Excellent country store anything and everything you may need, groceries, clothing, on-site bakery and novelty items. There is also a hardware store purposely stocked with normal cottage country needs such as bear spray. It's more then a general store, country store or hardware it's a focus point and a tourist attraction.
Awesome store. Great staff
Great variety of interesting items clothing gifts and groceries in one location. Super friendly staff
It's one of those places you just have to check out if you're in Dorset. It's part hardware store, part grocery store, and part gift shop. There are many quirky trinkets for the tourists, but it's convenient if you need to pick up a few things. The store is small but the selection is surprisingly good.
Been shopping there for over 60 years. Great variety of dry goods. Would like to see local and/or organic produce.
Lots of variety in this awesome gem, friendly and courteous staff. It's a hardware, country market and grocery store. Prices are decent too.
Had everything we needed for the cottage and camping. It's very handy being integrated with the Home Hardware store.
Been going to Robinsons for 52 years. It's an institution! Love it!!
Good variety and reasonable prices
Must visit for someone visiting Algonquin park....have everything you need and next to LCBO makes the visit twice as good
This seems to be primarily a general grocery for local residents and cottagers who need an alternative to driving all the way to Huntsville. There is a clothing area upstairs and the grocery is complimented by cottagy handicrafts and gifts. Also fishing and basic hardware items are available. At one time they served ice cream cones but ice cream and sometimes yogurt is a available across the street. No outdoor hotdog grill and no artisan furniture. I didn't notice any original art but there may be. We left to look for ice cream and a seat near the water, having found nothing we needed. Robinson's remains the anchor business for Dorset...a very pleasant village on Lake of Bays.
Excellent restaurant. The food was delicious and the waitress attentive. The patio was very nice to sit on for our breakfast.
Friendly service with loads of variety. Prices are slightly above average, but its the best place around.
Very interesting store...huge selection
Love the store. I'm from a small town near Niagara Falls and nothing like this store exists anywhere!! You have to go when your up in muskoka. Dorset is a great small town.
A tradition in Dorset, the best service and selection. Love this place.
Very nice place to do some shopping if you're in Dorset good variety
Loads of niknaks for the cottage or home. Plenty of groceries and hardware. Great bakery.
Good spot to find nice stuff for your cottage hosts.
Awesome, so many things to see, beautiful. I need to go back soon.
Always friendly staff. Hardware, groceries and clothing in one store.
Amazing general store and friendly staff.
Love this gem of a store. So traditional.
Very friendly, could only access the grocery side due to lockdown. Surprisingly well stocked and good selection.
I can see why it has been voted best general store, it is a crazy mix of three different businesses (home hardware, the red onion and the general store) into one location. You can get everything from groceries, to kitchen wares and outdoor wear or local pottery all in the same place. Staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable and prices were more than reasonable. Will be back next year.
Love this store. Has a little bit of everything. Old fashion feeling. Great gifts selections, food fruit and veggies selection. Fresh baked goods, and butcher shop. A must visit store.
This is one of the nicest General Stores left in existence. They have pretty much anything you can think of. Prices are a little higher but it's a specialty store.
A great old time (it will be 100 years old next year). Out of the way but if you are in the area, do stop by.
Best general store in the area, if you are there it's a must see.
Very well stocked, recommend visiting.
Loved the store, it has everything. A must stop
This has to be the best general store in Muskoka. It's a food store, a hardware store, a water toy store, a kid's toy store, a clothing store (upstairs), a beer store and a pottery store all rolled up in one store. And the staff are super courteous.
Great for getting all your basic supplies and groceries. Great selection and reasonable quality.
Great store, what a true General Store should be. Full Foodland Store, Hardware Store, toys, gifts, souvenirs, clothing, etc. LCBO in the adjacent lot. Great for locals, or worth checking it out if you're in the area
Robinson's general store is like an oasis in the middle of one of Muskokas jewels. Situated smack dab in the Lake of Bays district this store offers everything you could need. As protocol, you need to cross the bridge over the Lake of Bays and then proceed to the store. The view is breathtaking. Inside the store are soooo many goodies. Chichi clothing, jewelry, hand made local soaps, dips, coffee, gift items, cards, honey,a hardware store...and then there's the grocery items. Do not be in a hurry to dash in and then out. Take your time. Chances are you'll be back the next morning to check out all the things you missed the first time. Yes...some items will not be at no frills prices. But hey...you can't miss this experience. The dark chocolate beaver dodo will have you back in no time. Just kidding. It's dark chocolate...period.
Great to shop at Robinson's. Everything I need (gluten free bread etc). Lovely to catch up with staff after a long winter. Thx Brad.. For everything..
Great service...this general store has pretty much everything you need to stock up with or prep for the weekend getaway. Parking options on both sides of the bridge.
Great place to find it all and friendly staff
I always love Robinson's, has everything you need in a one stop shop, and more!
Cool general store. Very well stocked.
This place has just about everything
Good place to visit while at the cottage but nothing special to reccomend.
Lovely store full of amazing local artists products
Great Country Store . Great setting & helpful staff . ????????????
This place has everything you could ever need. From groceries to paint to clothing and more. Staff are helpful and prices are reasonable.
It’s good. Old… the cashiers can be a bit rude especially during summer season.
All kinds of interesting things. This place has it all. One stop shopping
Great store with everything.
Not a place to miss if you are in the area. The upstairs is cozy and washrooms always have the feel like you are home.
A really cool place to stop and look. But very expensive!
This place has everything from groceries to hardware and everything in between. New owners are wonderful. You might want to check out the butcher section, there are some great cuts there. Staff are always helpful. When in Dorset, you don't want to miss this place. Wait a minute, you can't miss it, just don't blink.
Voted Canada's best General Store and I can see why. They pretty much have everything you could need, including an LCBO right across the parking lot.
Much bigger then expected. Friendly and helpful.
Typical country grocery with slightly higher prices
Known about and shopped at store since Brad was a pup! From Kushog lake Mackays
Always worth the stop!
Greatest little general store in all of Canada. If you can't find it here you won't find it anywhere.
They have a bit of everything: groceries, souvenirs, housewares... Store is clean. Produce is good quality and fresh.
You can get almost anything there. They have smaller portion sizes available. Great staff.
Great country store atmosphere. I found lots of products not available at the "superstore" back home. Good gift selection as well.
Robinson's is a unique and very interesting store to visit. The store has almost everything from food to hardware, cloths, kitchen wears, toys, collectables, souvenirs etc. I could go on and on, you just have to see it. Its the place in this town to shop and a great place to visit if your in the area.
This place literally has everything, no wonder it’s been voted best country store!
Amazing, amazing amazing. The best country store I have ever been in!
