Very nice place and professional barber. The main reason why I liked this place and stayed with it is that the barber understands what you wanted from just a few words. I usually have problems explaining what haircut I want but it was much easier at this place. And in the end he always makes sure you like the haircut you received and does any small changes that you desire in the end. Slightly more expensive than normal Hairdresser salon, but it’s worth it. It’s a gorgeous fancy place. The gentleman, named Masih, cleaned and sanitized everything in advanced I took a sit. The environment was extremely energetic and beautiful Iranian musics were played during the procedure. That was a unique hair cut I have ever received. I am highly recommend this shop to ladies and gentlemen are living in KWC and even Guelph. It worth to try it.

My first time at the Universal Barbershop and the owner did a great job, my wife liked my cut so she also gave them a shot and he did a great job on her hair too. It was our first professional cut after 5 months of trimming each other’s hair so I think he was dealing with a challenge. The barber was very personable and the shop was very clean. A thorough Disinfecting of the chair and space occurred after each cut. We would go again .

This place is amazing . Its an 1-1/2 hr from my house but so worth the drive . They make you feel so at home , you can it around you every time someone walks in they are so happy to be there . I was so scared to get my hair done because my last hair dresser really messed it up . Nooshin was soooo amazing my hair turned out absolutely stunning and in such healthy condition . I’ve visited this place 2 days ago and I have nothing but praises. I got my haircut done from Anna. She is very professional and knows her job well. She listened to what I want, gave her suggestions and started the cut. My hair was very long as I had not had a haircut in the last 1 year and it took her so much time to cut my hair as I wanted it short. I was the last customer for the day and my appointment exceeded by 45 minutes and not at one time did she rush me. She patiently did what I wanted till the end. I would highly recommend this place and Anna. The prices are also very reasonable.

Remembering I desperately needed trim, I thought, "I desperately need a trim." So, I turned my trusty 2014 Black Car around and brought my newly purchased Tim Horton's beverage to the warm glow of the best damn barber shop in town. I was not disappointed. In fact, I was severely "appointed," as I would assume to be the very most opposite of disappointed. Fantastic customer service, a super-duper new hair cut, and a definite 5-star rating.

Masih at Universal Barber and Beauty is great. He is an excellent barber who knows what he is doing and takes a lot of care when cutting my hair. I have been going to his salon to get my hair cut for last 6 months and he never disappoints. He is a good listener and follows my preference/suggestions every time. He also takes his time and provides great feedback. He got my side burns realigned. Masih is very knowledgeable about his trade and has provided me with many useful tips regarding hair color and application. He also gives a nice shave at the back of neck etc. as bonus.The staff there is also very friendly and welcoming. The price is also very reasonable. It is always a pleasurable experience visiting his family salon and I always leave with a smile on my face.

The charge for beard trim is listed as $12 online. However, they charged me $22 just for beard trim. Also, got a cut from the blade which he used to shape the beard. Please call and check the price if you’re planning to go here. It might be the case that I didn’t get good service and usually these guys are good. But I wouldn’t go here again.

Great hair cut. Hair line was straight. hair was even. tools were cleaned properly .i even got a design done ive been wanting for years I brought my two friends with straight hair one got straight cut and the other got a trim up to do spikey hair both got what they wanted Its hard for me being a jamacian to find a good barber that can work with my hair . Customer services was great they had complementary drinks and newest music playing the layout is clean and modern with nice leather couches and big area not crowded .

My father-in-law got a good haircut from one of their barbers and I saw the good online ratings, so I was excited to give this place a try. I arrive 5 minutes early for my 2pm appointment on a rainy Monday with Masih. When I walk in, he looks to be finishing up a haircut with another customer. I wait 10 minutes and he's still finishing up with the customer - that's cool, everyone gets behind schedule a little bit. It's 2:25pm when I'm finally in the chair. He hurriedly asks me how I want my hair cut and what razor number I want - all while continuing a conversation with his previous customer. I tell him I want to grow out my hair and I would like the back and sides shorter and blended with the top. Apparently my preference is a barbering impossibility, and he angrily and aggressively tells me so. The fact that I don't easily give him a razor number which would allow him to rush a haircut I don't want, because his 2:45 appointment has already walked-in and he wants to get back on schedule, sets him off. Instead of showing some basic courtesy and respect, and helping me in a friendly manner to figure out a haircut that would be well-suited for me, he chooses to speak to me in a frustrated and belittling tone. I was so dumbfounded by how rude and unprofessional this guy turned out to be, I just wanted to get out as soon as possible. Naturally he rushed the haircut and it turned out mediocre. This experience was a major disappointment and a waste of time and money. I will definitely not return. I regret I didn't go to Othman's instead.

Very clean atmosphere with friendly and professional staff. They take a little more time to finish a hair cut than other barbers because of the quality of their work; they are very thorough and unrushed. I was surprised at how low the prices were considering the level of quality, amazing value. They also have everything set up to stay safe with regards to COVID protocols. This will be my new spot for as long as I'm in Waterloo, highly recommend!

This place has great customer service, the staff really spend alot of time and effort to make sure you get a great haircut/shave and you are happy with your haircut. The location is super convenient as well, just by King and Unversity intersection. Definitely recommend this barber shop for your next cut.
