Today my father Ken, had a haircut and shave serviced by Eddie at St.Mary's hospital. My Dad suffered a stroke 3 weeks ago, then open heart surgery a week ago. He was really wanting the service and has been a regular client for many years. Eddie very generously offered to come help out. Our family is honestly beyond words regarding how thankful we are. A thousand thanks GT barbers keep up the breathtaking work! If your looking for a cut, look no further these guys are top notch and have the biggest hearts in the buisness.

No appointments, it's first come first serve, so it does get busy in the evening and on Saturdays, though I don't mind waiting for Mick. I've been going back to him for a few years now every time, he get it right every time and cuts like a professional. 4 stars because they still take cash only, no cards. G & T is a great a barber shop at a reasonable price. I went there twice and both my barbers were cool. The first time I went I had an older gentleman cut my hair and he wasnt just cutting my hair, he was also entertaining me. He was telling jokes, dancing, and doing some flashy moves while cutting my hair (they may just be regular techniques, but they looked cool). He also shaved my neck with some warm cream and a straight edged blade for free (even cleaned up my beard up a bit). I loved my trip there. The second time I went I got it cut from someone else, that barber was still good, but I didn't enjoy it as much. Nevertheless, it's a good place. It does have long wait times though. I do wish they had a method to pick your barber, maybe they do, but I didn't see it.

I used to go to this barber and appreciated the service. That changed when they turned me away for refusing to wear a mask. It's not the mask requirement itself that ultimately irked me-- they have the right as a business to look out for themselves and dodge possible fines-- it's the fact that I waited with my mask off, in their barbershop, for over half an hour before it was my turn, and only then did they tell me it would be required. It was obvious way ahead of time that I would not wear it, I had been sitting/standing with the receptionist lady and talking with her. I had been there before without one and they had not made an issue then. If they don't want to cut it, fine, but make things clear before I waste my time. An egregious lapse of service, apparently based on a bizarre assumption that someone who didn't come in with a piece of cloth on their face would put one on to sit in the barber chair 3 feet away from where they'd already been sitting for 30 minutes without issue.

I stopped in to get my beard trimmed the lady at the front was very rude and unhelpful when I asked how long the wait was she pointed at the men waiting and said they were here first. When I asked price she just pointed at the sign I said okay well I don't need it today I'll come back and her comment was well there are other places open. So I will not be returning even though they were my go to.

By far the best barber shop I've been to, and that's not even considering how low the price is for what you get! Normally I keep changing barbers, trying to find the best one, but finally I've found the place to stop. Every time I've been, I've had a different barber, and every time I trust them to put their own touch on my hair, and every time it comes out perfect! Their attention to detail is high, and you can clearly tell that every one of them knows their way around some hair. An added bonus is the straight razor touch up at the end for that perfectly clean look!

Refusing to provide a service based on gender is a human rights violation. Implying that a client would possibly be made uncomfortable with you touching them at all is concerning, considering they are paying you to cut their hair. Which then begs the question -- why imply such a thing? Are you planning on touching them without their consent? Your barbershop isn't a "man's club." It's a barbershop. They are not the same thing. Try being more inclusive and less concerned about your own fragile sense of masculinity.

It's a good barbershop. I've been here twice, once for a cut and another for a full shave after my electric razor broke halfway through shaving my head. I was a little disappointed they charged me the full $21 for this as it only took about 5 minutes but it's their base price so... During that same visit a barber cutting another man's hair made an honest but ignorant remark regarding his country of origin which he took offense to. It was a little unprofessional. Otherwise, they do a good job and take pride in their work.

Not exactly the best barbershop, I find they rush quite a bit sometimes leaving areas of the head a bit messy. Don't get me wrong, some of the barbers are awesome, but others aren't nearly as good. Also the fact that they only accept cash is a bit of an annoyance. It is the best place around for a student to get a solid haircut considering the quality of other places near campus. I should say though that they are very nice and friendly people, and all around it is a decent place to go to.

Worst haircut in my life! Seriously do not go to this place, it was very fast and cheaply done. The barber didn't speak English well and started to do whatever he wanted to my head. In addition they were very rough, and I don't think he used a fresh razor when he shaved the back of my neck. He also didn't apply aftershave after he cut me with the razor, I ran home and put some rubbing alcohol on to make sure I don't get an infection. I had the taller gentleman with grey hair and glasses who spoke with an eastern Europe accent. There were many mistakes done, the line wasn't straight, the blend was bad, and he randomly trimmed the top. I also noticed that he didn't clean up the hair off the ground from the person before me, it felt that nothing was done right. Maybe it's just the man that did my haircut but I am surprised with the positive reviews here.

I went with my boyfriend so he could get a straight shave on his face and a hair cut. We found the service unprofessional, they only took cash so we had to run out to an ATM to take some out. My boyfriend still had rough patches on his face and he paid $45 for this service and it didn't include a wash. We did have to wait a while before he could get a cut but they clearly rushed it to get the customers in and out. Needless to say this place is extremely over priced and you don't get what you pay for. I would not recommend this business.

So I came in talking over a couple things about my haircut not the most conventional hair cut. Eddie did an okay job but gave serious attitude about the way I want it and what not. But not a big deal, at the end , he pushed back my hairline that I was just so frustrated. I didn't show all my emotions but I was very unhappy with the hairline, unbelievable , like it looked real bad. Eddie was very unprofessional about that, he didn't ask me before doing it and said ohh that's what Jamaican barbers do. And telling me people he did that to , to justify it, unprofessional, just bad. Left looking worst and feeling worst than coming in. I should have been rude and just walked out without paying but I don't know why I still paid. Won't be coming back here again!

My experience was mediocre and here is why. Normally I have a fine haircut but this time I didn't. One of the barber with long hair, gelled back cut my hair. He called out several numbers before me but none of the people ahead of me wanted to get a cut from him. I was little sceptical by this point but I was like what the hell. I tell him how I like it and he did an okay job at it compared to oasis joe. Then he showed me the back of the head and asked if it was okay. I commented that the back top of my hair still looks a bit messy. Then here is the catch, he gets all defensive about it and says I have been watching him cut my hair for the last 15 minutes why didn't I say something. Well dude, I don't cut hair as my profession, I don't know when you are going to get to the top of my hair and when you are finishing things up. You didn't even try to make small conversation so I can naturally comment about the hair process. Why the hell do you get all defensive when YOU asked if my hair was okay?

On top of getting a good haircut with lots of attention to detail, the price was very reasonable at around 20$. The man wouldn't accept a tip, but I forced him to take one. Absolutely fantastic barber shop, great barbers. I’ve never had a bad haircut and I take whichever barber is ready, they’re all very skilled. However my last visit was disappointing. My barber removed my mask several times without warning to trim around my ears even after I asked him not to (not just the earpiece the whole thing), and I’ve had haircuts during Covid where they accomplished this easily without removing the mask. His response was to slight me because I was being “paranoid” about Covid. Then proceeded to belittle all of his clients that have stayed away due to Covid for “leaving him high and dry”. Look, I do understand that small proprietors are being hurt by the pandemic but this is no way to behave. We’ve all been affected. We choose how to respond and this guy didn’t respond well. Rule number one in business, don’t complain about clients to other clients.

Avoid at all costs. Barbers do not sanitize their equipment. I pay a little more for cuts at my local barber shop, but at least they wash my hair, don't leave me a complete hairy mess when I leave, and change the straight edge razor blade. If I wanted a cut like this I'd just find a friend from highschool who cuts hair in their parents garage or basement but unfortunately we've all grown up and this service, which would be far more sanitary, is no longer available.

I asked approximately how long of a wait it would be and I was spoken to very rudely by an annoyed barber telling me at least an hour. That’s fine I said and I looked toward the mall. The barber said “you can’t just leave and come back in an hour.” I said is it not ok to be in the mall and come back? He said “ummm no.” I obviously would never go there again.

This place is really good! They give great cuts, pretty much exactly what you want and there are very skilled barbers that work there. Highly recommend this place but there are a few things that you need to keep in mind when going here. THINGS YOU WANT TO WATCH OUT FOR: 1. On Saturdays it is very busy. Expect to wait for 20 minutes - 1 hour and a half. It gets really busy, and is also pretty busy later on weekdays. 2. You want to be specific with some of their barbers. If they don't know what you want, they won't give you what you want. 3. Some of their barbers have an attitude that you need to watch out for. Try to not get on their bad side. 4. AVOID THE FEMALE BARBER. She is short and has dyed hair, she does NOT know what she's doing. I've been to this barber shop probably 15 times and every time was good but the two times I had her. She is shaky, bad with scissors and doesn't know how to deal with different types of hair. Say you are waiting for someone else if she's open. Trust me, it's for your own good.

When I explained what I wanted the guy had an attitude and couldn't even follow simple instruction, I think he might have been slightly stupid (the bald dude w/ glasses). After the cut he didn't even clean me up, I had to use the washroom nearby to wash up. Today's lesson: don't trust bald guys to cut your hair.
