This is the "go to" barber shop in the city for people of colour and others that need contemporary hair styling. The owner (Kevin) is personable and knowledgeable. Friendly atmosphere. Be prepared to wait, as there are no reservations or appointments!

I went there today for the first time . NEVER AGAIN ! I asked for a skin fade witch is didn't get and then I asked for a shave witch I didn't get either . He just lined up my beard with the shaver . I had to make another haircut appointment to a different barber shop to get my hair and beard fixed . You can't cut hair in 15 minutes it's impossible !

This is a fairly good barbershop but I have two main drawbacks: 1. Bladework: This seems to be a dying art in barbershops nowadays where every customer is expected to be in and out in 15 mins. As such, the kind of precision work with the barber’s razor and hot towel is absent, not least of all because of the... 2. Lack of appointment system: There’s only one barber in the shop and no appointment system. Your 15 min haircut could easily be a 3 hour endeavour if you got at the wrong time.

Absolutely terrible. The cut was totally uneven and rushed. You guys should be ashamed of how bad your service is. You're only lucky you're one of the few barbershops in Kitchener. Although Black & White isn't the best I've seen in Kitchener, they're way better than Diverse.

The barber was kind an helpful.... service was as expected. The only issue I had and have that made it a bad experience for me. Is the barber cut an extra chunk out of my son's very long hair while giving him an undercut. Edit. I did walk in, and he did say he could do it..... And I also picked this shop because of the experience. If it was going to be a problem, I would have accepted the walk in as a consult an came back another day for the cut.

I was visiting Kitchener last month and needed a cut. Walked into a nice atmosphere. Keven was full of energy and positive vibes even when it was at the end of the day. His cuts are fast and clean. In the 1 hr that i spent in the shop he cut 7 people. I like the old school honour system he has going; first come first serve and clients keep track of the line. The shop really promotes conversation and really tries to get people off their phones. If i lived in the area, he would be my weekly barber.
