Perfect place for UOfW and Laurier students. I think personally this is one of the best barbers in waterloo at the moment, really cheap prices, he tries to do anything to keep you happy, and does everything professional, way to go Mohamad you did a good job with my haircut! Come get the nice fade you have been searching for here, for only 20 dollars, also has a tv for the waiting time so u won’t be bored sitting there for sure. But yeah overall the prices are perfect, and the location is even better.

He barely cut my hair, not even giving me what I asked for the first time. The sides were barely shortened. I did not go and come back asking for a change.

I tried city style barbershop today after seeing the $20 student special. After briefly showing a few pictures and explaining what I was looking for, Mohamad went right to work. He did an amazing job cutting my hair with scissors and fading the sides/back. One of the best haircuts I’ve ever received - very pleased and will definitely go back!

I guess it's a hit or miss with some barbers. I previously tried a barber from Phillip location and I really liked it he cut it the way I asked. Recently I tried the Hemlock location showed him a picture and asked for a low fade. The barber there gave me the highest fade ever and my head looks like an egg now lmao. My feedback is to just listen to what the customer wants, ask how high the fade/cut they want before going for it.

This is a great barber shop. The prices are pretty standard compared to other similar places. However I called when the place closed in 10 min to see if they could squeeze me in. They agreed and we're very welcoming when I arrived. They did not rush me or seemed rushed in the least. The quality of the haircut was great and they even styled my hair in a way I've never thought of before. (I looked great) You can tell they take a lot of pride in their business. Nice trendy shop, always very clean. The barbers are very nice, and more relaxed than some other shops in the area. I recommend it to my friends as it's close to Waterloo (and Laurier) campus, and the price is comparable to other shops in Kitchener/Waterloo. They do a great job, excellent fades. I wish they offered a fresh shave (back of neck/side burns), as that is one of the reasons I get my hair cut by a barber.

Despite the great reviews, I advise anyone reading to ALWAYS book an appointment through their website with either Rami or Muhammad, and if they're not there, don't bother getting a haircut or go somewhere else. I asked for a skin fade and what I got was basically a buzz cut because a newbie screwed up on TRIMMING and had to get someone else to try to fix it when the only option was nearly trimming all my hair. I'm a student, and I ended up paying 3 dollars more plus tax even though their website said 20 dollars. I also ended up being there for an hour because of their noob barber . The shop is small, and is usually packed so don't be surprised to be standing around if you didn't book an appointment.

Got my friend to cut his hair and beard here and honestly turned out better then we both expected some of the reviews had us considering or not but honestly price is good service is good just should ask the price before hand as some state it’s in correct on the cite but honestly not true a trim for my friend was great then added a lineup as well and thats a different cost which makes sense because if you go anywhere else a trim and lineup for a beard is definitely not $10 guaranteed so check online before guessing. I got a zero drop fade today and personally im very specific with small details and picky about imperfections... Mohammed was spot on. Hes the first barber to cut my hair the exact way i like it and also he didn’t take long. I was in the chair for about 10 mins or less! Most times a barber will take around 30 minutes... Ive been to many selective barber shops and i gotta say this guy is good. And the price is even more amazing. Definitely will be going back

I'll admit that my first experience here was far from a pleasant one. However, my friend suggested I book an appointment with Mohamad, and I'm glad I did. He is clearly an expert, and is happy to listen to instructions without giving you the feeling of being rushed. He is very meticulous and takes his time with each cut. There are certain qualities I look for in a barber, and Muhamad delivers on all fronts. They do walk-ins but I would suggest booking an appointment with him ahead of time. Having recently moved to Waterloo, I am glad to have found my go-to spot that's also conveniently located. Keep up the good work Mohamad!

I found out Mohammed had been cutting hair for 20+ years and moved from Syria a year ago in the midst of turmoil. Mohammed spoke a bit of English with me but insisted he’s better with the ✂️ . The place is modern with warm decor and the comfy couches and large-screen TV are great if you need to wait. I arrived without an appointment but one would be recommended during busy times. The barber uses some great products as well and has all the latest tools and equipment. Definitely a good find for me.

The wait was about 20 min and considering that they had finished about 8 customers that were ahead of me in that time, the wait was understandable. My hair dresser finished my haircut in 15 min and I am pleased with the results. Personally, compared to other salons, City was the fastest at giving a skin fade that I've seen. NOTE: They charge $3 extra for zero fade, and $5 extra for skin fade

Love this place! Brought my son here twice and they do a spectacular job! They know how to blend hair perfectly, they take their time, and their prices are very affordable. This has become the only place I will take my son from here on out. There are 2 really good barbers and 2 really bad barbers. Been there twice for a great haircut but this time was a disaster. The barber started cutting my hair and I could tell it was off to a bad start and then after 40 minutes of trying to cut my hair another guy took over and basically buzzed most of my hair off to try and make it better.

Very modern barbershop with two barbers. Got my haircut by Simon - very polite, friendly, and cut my hair just the way I wanted. Only downsides is that they are on the more expensive end (student cut was $22.60 including tax, plus tip), and they only accept cash/debit (however debit machine wasn’t working, so bring cash!).

Got a haircut here yesterday, got charged $50 while the advertised price on the website is $22.99 for students. Haircut was mediocre and the guy was on a call all the time. Haircut was sub-par and definitely didn't line it up properly. Not worth the $50.

Website says $9.99 for a beard trim. My face was looking a little squirrelly so I popped in to have it cleaned up. Low and behold, $20 was my charged amount. When I called back, they told me that because they “aligned “ everything to make it symmetrical, it was $20. I’m not sure how “ can I get a beard trim” turned into “ can you style my face and charge me double”. I won’t be back. “cash only” is a little shady as well in this day and age.

Great haircut from Rami. Went in as a walk in for a No.1 fade on the sides/back, waited for 15 mins because it was busy (which is always a good sign) then got my hair cut quickly and professionally. My hair is curly, and thicker than most. Great conversation too.

My haircut was OK and Mohammed is a nice guy, but the hygeine in the shop was atrocious. The trimmers, the chair, the scissors were all covered in previous patrons' hair, and the implements all sat on a white towel that was gross. There needs to be more attention paid to cleaning the area between customers. It's gross, and also a health hazard.

Went for a trim and beard trim. The barber did not know how to cut long hair. My hair was much shorter on one side than the other. The barber had combed all my hair back before sending me on my way (I wear my hair down) so I couldn’t tell it was a shoddy cut until I got home. I returned to the shop and a different gentleman fixed my hair for free. Unfortunately due to the first barbers mistakes, he had to cut it shorter all around to make it presentable, leaving me with a result several inches shorter than what I originally asked for. The first barber also horribly messed up my beard by significantly lowering my cheek lines without asking me.

I took my 5 1/2 year old boy to get his haircut today, wow was I impressed. Simon (the barber) gave my kid the cleanest and freshest fade he’s ever had. His skill with the clippers was a real clinic to watch. I would recommend this spot 100%, because barbers like theses are artists and a dying breed and should be supported. Got there for a haircut. During the whole time he was talking to another employee nonstop over my head. It is not a big thing at all, but maybe that causes the carelessness that later comes. At the end I asked for a shave on the back of my neck around the frame like I get in any other place. Apparently, he did not put shaving cream - just sprayed water. The shave felt rough and when I got home my friend told me I have blood stains over my shirt - my neck was bruised and badly cut. There is no way he did not notice the blood at the shop, but yet - he did not say anything. Just let me go home with blood dripping of my neck (see pictures). My neck was red and swollen for 2 days after.

Visited here for the first time. Good hair cut, in and out in 15 minutes. DISAPPOINTED with the price as the website clearly says 23$ for a zero fade. When I sat down and asked for the zero fade I was told it's an additional 5$. When I paid it came to 31$ before gratitude.
