Visited the salon for a bridal party booking this weekend. I asked for a sleek, low bun, off to the right side. I showed the attached photo as a reference to three people - the front desk manager, a person who curled my hair, and the person who pinned it. At no point did anyone say that this style wasn’t possible. Half way through pinning I reiterated that I wanted it to be a smooth bun and that I would like it off to the side so that I could see it. She said, “don’t worry you’ll see it!” and explained that she wasn’t putting it too low because it would hurt my hair line. What I ended up with was an early 2000s prom messy up-do. And then they charged $90 for it. NINETY DOLLARS for an up-do that did not even come close to resembling what I asked for. I absolutely would not recommend booking Bogarts for wedding hair or updos. This was an incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience. Edited to add after business reply: Let me reiterate there that at no point during my appointment was I told this style of updo was not possible. I even asked if I had enough hair to do it and was told yes, this was going to be possible. I am not sure how I was supposed to express that I was not satisfied with my hair during the pinning process because I was only shown it once it was complete and when I asked half way through if I was getting a sleek low bun and was told yes?! Furthermore, there was no time to have my hair re-done or make a big issues about this because I needed to leave the salon as soon as it was completed as the others from the wedding party had already left to stay on the timeline for the day.

I've been here 3 times in the last year. The first 2 times I walked away generally happy, even if the price is a bit steep for what I'd like to pay. But I'm willing to pay for a good haircut. This third time I'm so disappointed in what I ended up with. I went in for a color and cut. The color turned out okay, and the cut turned out okay too, but the cut wasn't what I asked for. I tried to monitor as she was cutting my hair and remind her of what I wanted, but by the end I was feeling frustrated and tired of fighting to get what I wanted out of my cut, so I lied and said it was fine and left. Since then I've come to hate my haircut more and more. I couldn't sleep last night because I feel so bad about how it looks. I feel like a boy, or a 4-year-old girl, or an old woman with this cut. I wanted a young looking haircut and walked away feeling all wrong. I've never had to do this in my entire life, but I'm going to go to someone else to get it fixed, because I look at myself in the mirror and hate it. It's not a bad quality cut, it's just not what I asked for, and I have no idea why it turned out like this instead of the picture/description I was giving. I was pretty insistent on certain things, tried to be as specific as possible, but really I have no idea why I didn't get any of it. I went home to show my husband and he said it looked nothing like the picture, I texted a friend who agreed that it doesn't resemble the picture I provided even a little bit. I don't think I was asking for anything complicated, but even if I was, I thought Bogarts could handle that for the price you pay. Unfortunately I will not be going back to Bogarts. I don't feel it's worth it for the price anymore. If I'm going to get a haircut that vaguely resembles what I asked for, I might as well pay a cheaper price. They were great the first 2 times, but pay attention to your stylist because apparently who you get matters more than I thought. (I won't be naming the stylist as I'm not okay with the idea of calling a person out. Ultimately she represents Bogarts as a stylist there, so I will leave it at that.)

Tanya completely saved my botched bleach job that another salon gave me. I had patchy fried yellow hair that I couldn't get a brush through and now I have a gorgeous sunset colour blend and it feels like silk. Would rate higher than 5 stars if I could.

Really disappointed by the service! Asked for 'hair to no hair fade' and what I got is something I could get done at any cheap regular salon. Even the line they made is weird and in one place its not even a line, more like a tiny bald spot! Lack of professionalism. Seems like They used just one same number blade to trim the sides and probably that is what looks like 'fade' to them! If you are looking for men's hair services, I would definitely not recommend this place. Extremely disappointed

I just want to say my hair cutter was super friendly and professional. Thanks JJ! I love my cut! I walked into Bogart's hoping the "Modern Barbershop" means they are an actual Barbershop. I learned from the staff they don't use a straight razor to shave a man's face, under the jaw, or back of the neck. So the term "Barbershop" to me is misleading, but that is NOT the staff's issue, they were all wonderful. I needed a cut and it was poor planning for me because I didn't have time to book with my usual barber. Staff advised me the type of service I want is just not in demand and they don't staff people with the proper insurance to use a razor.

So there are haircuts for men and then their are proper barbers. This is the place that barbers, professionals and particular people go for their doo. Now I had the amazing opportunity of having Carla cut my hair the other day, and I have found my new barber for life.... There are good barbers out that do a good job in a reasonable amount of time, but when I got mine done she took her time, she didn't cut it, she sculpted it, and one of the very first to go ahead and was concerned about my head faults and work with them to make a great cut! Carla, I can't thank you enough I've got 9 compliments already and thats just day 2!

Five star is not enough for me! It was my first time getting my hair done in Canada. I ruined my hair because I bleached my hair wrong. I met Lisa, who is super nice and detailed. At first, I wanted todo light colour, however Lisa told me that it will damage my hair. She recommended little bit of darker colour. I believed her instinct and final outcome was amazing!! Not only the outcome, I also loved her customer service. I had so much hairs, but she was really patient and effortful to finish my hair. I was glad that I found Bogart's Hair Salon. After years and three separate (and very expensive) trips to different salons, I've finally struck gold with Tanya and Bogart's. My dream has always been to go blonde, and time after time I left disappointed and brassy rather than the dreamy blonde I wanted. One appointment with Tanya not only fixed my hair (ask her about the minerals in our water!) but gave me the creamy colour I so badly wanted. Her extensive knowledge and experience made for fascinating chats. She really knows her stuff, and made the long appointment feel short and exciting. I learned a lot about doing my hair from her! Bogart's is also a lovely salon where everyone was warm and friendly and I didn't feel like I was being judged the moment I walked in (like in all the other salons I've been to). Dissappointed in husband and sons haircuts. Staff was friendly but didnt listen to what was asked. Cut off way more hair than needed and not in the style of the picture shown. Both haircuts were too short. I dont think they specialize in mens and boy haircuts so shouldn't charge so much.

Had an appointment with my mom to get our hair done at the same time. Instead, I got to sit and wait for an hour while hers got done and watched others come in after me and get their hair done too. By the time my mom was done I was not interested in waiting around anymore and I especially did not want to make her wait in the studio for me. I try to be patient but this was ridiculous and unprofessional. Never going back again. I understand being behind but making someone wait in your lobby for over an hour when they have a scheduled appointment and never once checking in with them is insulting... and then expecting their mom to wait too. No apologies or explanations given. Edit: Adding a star for the nice apology. :) Appreciate reaching out to me.

I'm torn. I went for a cut and a beard trim, and the price was totally reasonable. The haircut was fantastic, but the trim was terrible. The lines were rough, and completely uneven. On one cheek, the line ran well above my jawline. The difference between either cheek is maybe an extra 3/4 inch of hair. I had about a month of growth, so it's not the worst thing in the world, but if I intended to keep it around, I would definitely need to shave it clean and start over. I'm on the fence as to whether I'd go back. The people are nice, the haircut was great, but the lack of attention to the trim was disappointing. If I were more invested in my beard, I would be bummed.

This place was nothing like I was expecting. Driving past I had assumed it would be an older fellows' barbershop. And I assumed this for about a year. Due to a hair disaster at a different place (I won't name names because I'd used them for years and they're still amazing, but I should have stuck to my usual person) I was Googling for a local hair salon. Bogart's came up, and I was surprised by what I seen in the pics, and it's in my area, so I called to make an appointment. The place is modern and up to date, the staff are super friendly and helpful, and the prices... I can't say enough about the prices! I'm pretty fussy about how I like my hair cut and highlighted, and I've always been willing to spend what I need to to get what I want. At Bogart's I got exactly what I wanted (and then some because the poor woman had to tone and correct the mess made at the other salon), and I paid about half of what I was previously spending! I definitely recommend Bogart's, and I'll be returning there myself for future touch-ups. Thanks for saving my hair!

I went here last week, and I had Lina, who didn't listen to what I was asking for. I asked for my whole head to be lightened, and she just did the ends. As well, she dyed two pieces of my hair at the front WHITE, from the top down, which looked awful. And I went back afterwards to complain and she was very difficult and made it seem like I was the idiot. She has communication issues and does whatever the heck she wants, so if you don't wanna look like frankensteins bride, make sure you don't get Lina.

First time visitors! We've been to so many salons in the Waterloo Region and visiting Bogart's Hair Salon was one of the best experiences we've had. From the moment we walked in the stylists were extremely friendly, the atmosphere was very relaxing and welcoming and the staff were very accommodating for both my wife and I. We felt safe and could tell they were taking extra precautions to keep the salon clean, sanitized and fresh smelling (the smell was of fresh hair products). I highly recommend this salon. I believe it was Sara who did my wife's hair and Carla who did mine. My wife got a haircut and some colour to blend some of her gray hair and I got a gentlemen's haircut. We were both very happy with our services and are definitely making this salon our go to from now on. Good clean environment, friendly staff and great haircuts for us. We'll definitely be back. Carla did a great job so when we were back again and needed hair done, this was the only place I thought of. Carla made me feel at ease and comfortable. I have thick coarse hair, with a history of bad haircuts. She actually understands what works for my hair. If I lived here, she would be my regular stylist. Went for a haircut here and they had triple booked my start time. (After reserving a week prior) after a twenty-two minute wait I finally spent 11 minutes with the hair cutter. The haircut was ok but I mean you really can’t screw up a number 4 haircut done with a clipper. I did have to finish up the stragglers at home that the girl missed. After reading the prices online as Shampoo, Cut & Style from $30.00 I was surprised that I never got a shampoo or a blow dry and was charged $38 for my clipper-cut. No. I would not recommend this “modern barbershop” for a men’s cut. Edited to respond to query below. Tuesday July 20 visit at 5:50 with a guy named Rob who took a person who came in after me because he knew him and did his parents hair the day before and ended up with a girl named Lina at 370 Eastbridge Blvd The Rob guy had the chair closest to the door and Lina's station was the last one on that wall on the left side of the shop.

My original stylist was fully booked and the receptionist suggested me to see another stylist (I will not name here) who turned out to be the daughter of a third stylist in the salon. During the appointment I felt like I was in a beauty school rather than a decent salon. The girl went see her mom and asked for her advice of hair colouring from the first step to the very end. The most ridiculous part was at the end I was charged an insane amount of money for the service, asked the girl, turned out to be her mom's price. Ahh by the way, the hair colour is not any better than what I could manage with drugstore bought Schwarzkopf. I am confused on why stylist could not be properly trained before working INDEPENDENTLY at the salon. Will not go back. Update: After I left my review last night, within the past 24 hours, there were 4 new reviews left, each 5 stars, and all of them were praising the stylist I was referring to. As someone who held a doctoral degree in statistics, I was suddenly curious whether it's a coincidence or not. So I moved on to calculate the probably of this event happening - I went over all your 218 google reviews, counted the number of reviews where she was mentioned, and then estimated the probability. You know what? I think after counting, even a primary school child could tell you the probability. Wow! Impressive!!!!!!

I was really impressed with the salon and loved my haircut. Said on signs they take walk ins but made an appointment just to be sure. Everything is very clean and Rob is a great stylist. Bogart's was recommended to me and i would certainly recommend them. They are a full service shop(waxing, perms, straightening, children and mens cuts etc) and I received a complimentary scalp massage and deep condition treatment with my next hair service. Haircuts start at $45 for women, add $10 for shampoo cut and style for women, while men's shampoo cut and style start at $30. Price difference is the only thing I would fault the salon on.

I went in with a pretty simple ask (for my hair to be a few inches shorter and the same length all around). The stylist I saw seemed confident, and I had a very pleasant time when the wash & cut was happening. Sadly, I realized when I put on my glasses that the back of my hair (now right up to the base od my hairline, so couldn't go shorter) is longer than the front, and there's a big chunky step down on each side of the head. It would have been more professional for the stylist to just tell me if she didn't know how to do short styles, because I feel as though I've paid $50 for a $15 haircut (or honestly, one I could have done by myself).

We all know that it is very important to have a clear communication with your stylist, on both sides, to obtain the result you want; unfortunately for me I had the wrong color (dark brown) in my hair but thanks Tanya I was able to recover the closest color to my natural tone without the need to mistreat my hair, it was definitely a good decision to choose her for this correction, she is a really dedicated stylist, you can see and feel in your hair how much she loves her work!
