Truley the best in Ottawa! Have a seat and let them handle the rest. A great barber is one that knows what you want without telling them what you want and remains consistent with his cut. At khalil barber you get the best of both worlds. The freshest fade and crispy sharp beard by Sameer with his surgical precision hands. Positive vibes and greeted with an espresso shot. Cant get any better!

I went to Khalil Barbershop today and met Sam the owner. Very nice guy, takes pride in his work. I booked an appointment for 4pm and I was in the barber chair at 4pm, so no waiting. I had a hair cut done by Sam and the price is very affordable. I will go again!

I have been going to Khalil's for around 20 years. My dad took me there when I was a kid and I have been going ever since. I have moved to different parts of Ottawa and in doing so, tried different local barbers however I always end up coming back to Khalil's. I would rather pay 23$ for a great haircut with some nice guys than 30$-40$ for a mediocre cut and a towel on my face.

I spent slight more than a year going around places in Ottawa to find a good place to get a solid haircut. A colleague/friend of mine recommended this place and told me to book with Ahmed and book well in advance. I walked in for the first time nervous and awkward as all hell. I was worried because every other place I had gone to I said, "I'd like to try something new." which would always leave me with a buzz cut or something which would need me to wear a hat for the next couple weeks. I did the same thing here with Ahmed and had high expectations because of how he styled his hair. He took the time to ask what type of cuts I've had before so that I don't get overwhelmed by something new, then he took the time to explain what he'd be doing and the fall back options. I was not disappointed. He did an amazing job and was so nice throughout the process. Even offered expresso, which I had never been offered at other places. I would definitely recommend this place to people and especially Ahmed. The only downside is that they get booked solid alot, so make sure to book in advance. Tl;Dr Great people and great service. Only problem is that they are always booked, so you'll need to book well in advance.

Been here twice now. Be warned if you've got long hair as a guy they will have difficulty handling it. They cut mine too short and it's a mess. Barbers are not effective communicators. Language barrier could be an issue? They would rather make you look good in there own image... So if you have a particular look in mind not a good idea. Just bring a picture. Easier that way. They're good at doing Fades and waxes. Expresso shot included nice touch.

Farzat is the best barber I've had. I have never stuck with a single barber, but after being to Khalil's, I haven't changed in almost two years. First time here. Sam is absolutely a wonderful person. The rest of the staff seems friendly and wonderful too. However my first time experience wasn't up to that level: I had an appointment and I came on time. Sam seemed to be ready to take me in right on time. Yet, he got into an fruitless argument with one of his 'regular' clients who came late for his appointment and tried to take my turn. They kept exchanging blames for a couple of minutes. The client didn't seem to have the tiniest respect to those who came on time, and Sam wasn't firm with him. Eventually Sam took me in, but in order to accommodate that annoying client he rushed my hair cut (10 mins and he was done). The cut wasn't clean. Hair was all over my ears and shoulders, sideburns weren't done nicely tapering wasn't that smooth ... i had the quickest blow dry ever. I could have gotten the same hair cut from the barbershop next to my place for 10$ ... 4 stars for staff attitude, 2 stars for the service.

I am not one to detriment the social status of a business, but the utter disregard these barbers have for their customers is truly unfortunate. I recently received a haircut from a barber who unintentionally botched my hairline on the back of my head. He tried to hide the fact that he made a mistake by not showing me the back side of my head after he completed the haircut. This was followed by him rushing me through the cash so I would not have the chance to notice the sloppy work he did. Once I realized the amateur clipper work the barber used on my hair, I had already left the shop. I am usually quick to forgive, but after that experience and seeing how sly the barbers were in trying to hide their faulty work, I was very frustrated. Their slyness could also insinuate that they have used these tactics before to conceal their overrated services. I know this business takes great pride in their reviews, so I hope the egotistical manager reevaluates his business strategy after reading this review.

I recently relocated away from London (UK), where my hair was tended to by one specific barber, who I used solely for almost 20 years. Through my recent relocations and travels away from London, I find amongst the toughest task I must endure in every city is the search for a talented barber in whose hands to fully trust my hair and style with. I was satisfied with the caliber of barbers in Ottawa in general and have no real negative points to highlight from my brief experiences elsewhere, however, I found Khalil Barbershop to be a cut above the rest, full pun intended. I was led to Khalil Barbershop by Google searches, and although I was initially skeptical due to the enormous amount of positive reviews the shop received online, the various awards the Barbershop won, such as the Top Choice award, convinced me to try out their service, and I am extremely glad I did. My initial appointment was with Sam whom, on my arrival, was very welcoming, as were the whole team there. Sam took the time to genuinely listen to my requested style, and was meticulous in producing my desired look to perfection. His work with scissors, the razor and the blade were impeccable. It is imperative I find a barber who is passionate and caring about his/her work and clients. This “care” and “passion” were evidenced when, due to a personal emergency, Sam had to leave the shop suddenly prior to my arrival, but not before detailing to his colleague, Omar, what my specific requirements were knowing how precise I am with my hairstyle. Although hesitant as Sam would not be cutting my hair, I sat in Omar’s chair, and the finished style he produced exceeded all of my expectations. In fact, from what I have seen of the other barbers there, I would certainly feel comfortable in sitting in any of the other chairs. It is telling that the whole team that Sam has put together there are specialists in the field, and it is clear to see why they are worthy winners of various awards and recipients of all of the praise laid on them in the Google reviews. I actually often feel sad leaving the barbershop after my style has been created as the atmosphere there is so inviting. The only down side is that the barbershop is not on my front doorstep and so for convenience sakes I have to get there and back via the Uber service. With that said however, for the peace of mind afforded by the workmanship of Sam, Omar and the specialist set of barbers at Khalil Barbershop, it is certainly worth the car journey every time. Thank you Sam, Omar, and the collective team for all of your efforts, and I look forward to seeing you at my next appointment.

First time Customer. Khalil's Barber Shop went above and beyond. I've been getting the modern spin on the classic comb over for several years now. I had previously been getting my cuts done from my father in law who owns a salon in Toronto. Over the years I've tried to modify the details of the styling to get something a bit closer to what I like. That being said, I was in a bind because I needed a haircut right away and so I did a google search, saw the great reviews and called Khalil's. Sam was able to book an appointment for me that day. I told him what I wanted and said that my hair was in his hands. Well Sam NAILED IT! He got the perfect look that I was trying to achieve but never had been able to get it quite right until he did it. Not only that but my Fiancé is extremely extremely picky. Even though Sam nailed the haircut perfectly for what I wanted, she wanted a little bit more taken off one of the sides. I went back to Sam the next day and he was able to fix it up right then and there, no questions asked. The guys at Khalil's really really deserve their flawless rating on Google. Absolutely amazing service and the quality of the cut is second to NONE! Thanks so much Sam, I won't be going to see my father in law for my haircuts any longer. P.S. Please don't tell him!!!! First time here about a week ago since I recently moved to Ottawa... I was taken in right away and showed a picture of how I usually get my hair done. Overall, the experience was pretty good! It's pretty reasonable pricing, I didn't get a fade or anything but it was about $20 after tax plus a tip if you're generous. If you're a person who wants to get in and out of a barber shop, this is not the place for you unless you mention it to them. For example... A soccer game was on and all the guys in there were talking about the teams, my barber would eventually stop and talk with everyone or greet a long time friend who walked in -- I personally like it since I go for haircuts on days where I'm free all day and I personally like the tone it sets for a Men's Barbershop. He also tried to strike up some conversations with me which was also nice! There were a bit of flaws with the process such as the cover being too small that I'd have to pull it back over my leg, or near the end where he took it off halfway and decided to do some last second finishing touches which got some hair on my hoodie. The initial cut was slightly above average at best, definitely better than a First Choice but after a week of growing in, this is probably one of the best cuts I've had - can't wait to see it in about a month. Will definitely be coming back here unless I'm driving by Algonquin College, I'd go to Perfect Cut in Loblaws instead. However... If you're a guy looking to get anything else done besides a cut you're better off ditching every other Barber shop and coming here instead.

In general the people in this place are very skilled, but unfortunately there is a big problem with this place: they give you a nice hair cut the first months and after that, they really don't care and they will start giving you very bad cuts, this was my experience, it's too bad because they can do much better. If you want to get a good hair cut all the time, then go to Samy the owner because he cares about his own business and will try to do his best all the time. There is also a bad point: if you are late to your appointment only for 5 min and you call them to let them know, they will tell you: "No, you can't be 5 min late" and You have to reschedule the appointment, but if they are late for your appointment and you have to wait even 30 min, it does not bother them, which is Not fair: the rules should apply equally to both sides and not just to the customer.

Very friendly, skilled and caring staff. I have visited this place multiple times and mostly had a good experience. There was the odd one or two bad haircuts but it was with a new barber who was still in training. He did pick up the skill fairly quickly though as I decided to go with him again for a second time in a row and asked for the same haircut. This time around I was very pleased. During slow hours, the atmosphere becomes more fun as the staff tend to joke more with customers and between one another. They also offered me free coffee a couple of times. I should point out that they take appointments as well as accept walk-ins.

Severely disappointed. I had high hopes given it was an "Ottawa Top Choice" award winner, but the quality of the haircut I received made me really question the legitimacy of those awards. The haircut only lasted about 15 minutes, and was overall quite sloppy. While not an overly expensive haircut, at the price point, I expected at least a neck shave to be included, which it was not.

When I called in I was quoted by the girl answering the phone: $20 for men's basic cut. I arrived slightly late, but my barber was super nice and friendly about it. I let him do what he believes is best. He was very conversational, gave a great cut in under 8 minutes, confirmed that I was a student, and asked for $25-student pricing. Now, I really didn't mind getting quoted the wrong price. It's just I only brought 25 bucks (expecting to tip on top of the 20) so I didn't get a chance to tip him and felt terrible :/ Overall an amazing experience!

Sam, the owner, has been cutting my hair for over 10 years; basically since the day I moved from Montréal. For those who don’t know me, I am a VERY picky individual and that is why I drive all the way from Stittsville (30-40 min drive) just to get my haircut. I always felt welcomed at his shop and always got treated with kindness and respect but most importantly, I always got great compliments on my haircuts / beard trims . Went to this place on a Saturday - after mainly looking at google reviews on various decent barbers. Place was busy, and one of the barbers recommended making an appt. the next time. I ended up getting Osman - nice guy. My haircut took him 10 minutes (or less) - which is good if you're in a rush but not good if your not. The cut was $23.00 + tip. The quality of the haircut was "ok" - I was hoping for better but he was in such a rush to get me in and out of the place that he just really didn't give a lot of concern for doing a proper job. He did it the way he could do it the fastest. I'm pretty disappointed, as I'm looking for a long-term barber (my barber at Hampton Park is getting up there) - I guess I'll have to keep looking as, for the money, I expected more.

The only person who listened and took care in cutting your hair was Osman, who no longer works there. Since he left, my last three visits resulted in a cut that I did not want and being told how I should style my hair. I have been trying to grow my hair on the top and get the sides faded but I am back to square one because length was taken off AGAIN when I explicitly asked to leave the top UNTOUCHED. Three times in a row. I am done with this place. This happened with two separate barbers and they seem to like doing only what they know or like.

Hmmm first time leaving comments but i really have to say this. I booked a haircut for 11:00am and arrived at exatly 10:50am. Until then everything was alright and set down at the station at about 10:57 am start cutting hair. I am not particularly in to making this barber shop look bad, just imagin how customers would feel that the barber was on the phone texting before and during(twice) the cut and basically does not listen to you. Hair cut was finished which was at 11:15am. (???) And I walked out because I was in hurry to take a picture for passport. If barber is skilled and good that he cut hair perfectly fine then why not ? Fast and good? That's worth a money. When I went to take picture I was embrass the fact that my forehead and my neck including underneath my ear is full of hair. Of course there is huge amount of hair because basically barber wanted to kick me out. No wonder. The barber shop was not busy. It wasn't like they had too many people to take care of When I first did the reservation I was excited about how people comments are mostly good but, my experience is not, I definitely figured it out today. If I have to suggest my friends for barber shop it is definitely not this place. I don't know why they were unprofessional and disrespectful when especially I was there? Is it cause of you had a bad day or you just don't want Asian guy in your barber shop???? jk. which ever it is, UNPROFESSIONAL.

Every now and then throughout your life you find a small business that you immediately fall in love with, and from that point forward you will make sure that that is the place that gets your business even if it may not be the most convenient for you. This is one of those places for me. I'll happily drive the 30 minutes from Orleans just to get my hair cut here, they're just that good. Been getting my haircut here for years and they're always super nice, super efficient, not too expensive and as a bonus they'll make you one of the best espressos you can get in Ottawa free of charge. It was my first visit, I enjoyed the welcome by Sam even though I did not have an appointment. However, I am only giving this place 4 stars based on my experience with one of the barbers. Whoever the barber was next to the window seat needed an attitude check. I had asked for a skin fade and even physically pointing out where I wanted the guide line to start. He took my instructions as a negative criticism as and he thought I did not know that he understood. I was merely trying to be very specific as I had bad experience at another barbershop after telling them specifically. It's kinda hard to come back to a place knowing you can tell your barber was judging you. Second, his technique compared to other barbershops that perform fades was inefficient. As well, I did not know a fade which I had stated in beginning was an extra charge, which I would have been okay with. He was nice enough to charge me only $25.00. Overall, I am satisfied with the cut I received. However, I will choose a different barber next time.

The staff are always welcoming. They have appointments booking system on their website, which is amazing to help me fit the hair cut in my schedule. My barber is Sam. He is the best barber that has ever given me a haircut. My hair is not easy to deal with. I like to do the skin fade, which is not easy, but he is always capable and consistent with his haircuts. He pays attention to detail about how the haircut should look like. Sam is very punctual, always on time. He is always making a pleasant conversation. I live far away from the shop but I make that special trip to have my haircut there. I would recommend his shop to my family and friends.

These guys are great. Prices are on par with the generic franchise places but the quality is far superior. Highly skilled barbers with great customer service. They can be a little busy at times so strongly recommend calling ahead for appointment.

This is long overdue, but I have to say that this is by far the best barbershop in Ottawa. Before I came in to this place, I tried Hair Fellas and other places and I kept switching barbers because I was very disappointed with the prices and services. Sam and his employees are very courteous and polite and are always positive. Unlike other places, Sam understands exactly what you want and sometimes knows what's best for you. He's truly competent. I don't have to remind him of the haircut I want. His prices are excellent. It is well managed, you always cut your hair on time. What else can you ask ! 5 stars.

I have been going here for about 3 years now and have yet to have a bad cut. I sort of just stumbled upon it while I lived in the area, now I live across town and still make the commute because these guys never let me down. Not only are they slightly cheaper than their competitors (possibly because of location) but they are very attentive and fun to be around with their banter back and forth about cars and football. I do my best to go to my usual barber, Adam, he always gives a perfect fade and pretty much knows my cut off by heart at this point. I usually call a day or two in advance to make an appointment as they do get busy with walk-ins at times. If I just walk-in I will usually let any of the gents here do my cut because they are all fantastic barbers.

Best barbershop I've ever been to. Everyone who works are nice and funny, and you feel like you're having a good time when you cut your hair. When you walk in, it's always live. I personally cut with Hunter (who I 100% recommend), but everyone else there is just as talented. They always care about their clients and even always remember your usual haircuts. Reasonably priced and worth it.
