Went there yesterday after a friend INSISTED I check them out. Keep in mind: I'm super particular about my hair and I've probably visited most barbershops between KW and London. I gotta say... This shop didn't disappoint. Fast yet meticulous, friendly yet quiet. Those are the qualities a good barber must have. Loved my experience and will 1000% be back to make this my new barber shop for the near future!

This place should just call themselves a barbershop, because I could see the men's section was very busy, yet I was the only one in the women's section for the entire hour that I was there, which in hindsight was a bad sign. They did not specify whether I was getting a junior or senior hairstylist, but the lady who gave me a haircut seemed pretty inexperienced. I understood the slight language barrier which made the hour very quiet, but nothing else made up for it. She did not know what I meant, and asked for references pictures when I said I wanted a straight cut to my chin. At times, she would cut my hair with no regard to the length she was cutting it to, as she was not holding it in place, leaving uneven edges. She assumed things that she should have asked about instead, like where my part is (I had to tell her where my part was multiple times before she changed it), and straightening over curling it. At the end, the cut was uneven and I had to point out the spots for her. it was not a hack job, but the results was not up to the standard to what I expect from even a junior stylist. I will not be visiting again.

Can say nothing but great things about this place! Bashar cut my hair and he is a true professional. I show him a couple photos from my haircut when I was in Japan and he replicates it flawlessly. What seems like a few clips of the scissors he effortlessly delivers an amazing cut. Super clean and prosessional even in Covid19 era. Looking forward to visiting again for my next cut in a few months!

Made the mistake of coming here a second time because the line at Faded barbershop across the street was too long. The guy doesn't speak English too well and instead of clearing up what you want, just does his own thing. Also terrible with a straight razor, irritated my skin. Definitely would recommend waiting at Faded, there's obviously a reason they have a line up and golden scissors doesn't.

Went for a beard trim and despite being late for my appointment due to unforeseen circumstances, I was still helped out. Excellent quality of work, very thorough and precise. The cost is fair at $15 considering the effort put into the beard trim plus the fact that a straight razor lineup is also provided. They take care of you well. They cut black hair too for all my brothers who searching in KW region. A little pricey than what you are used to but the service warrants the price. Still might be pricey for some but they are good and if you can afford to go a little higher than usual then you won't be mad at the money spent to get an easy going haircut. They are gentle and take care with your skin. The spirit didn't hurt as much once they were done so that speaks to how gentle they are. Whenever I have the money I'll surely come back here.

I used to go to this barbershop all the time but not after today. While I find the barbers to be good, Sevag was my favorite, but I am convinced now that the senior barber, Bashar, is nothing but an arrogant person, who lacks the basics of customer service. I called the store yesterday to check if Sevag was going to be in today. Bashar answered and confirmed to me that Sevag was going to be in at 1pm. So, today I got to the store around 1:30pm. Sevag was not there; only Bashar was there and he was busy with a customer. When I asked if Sevag was in, he said "he will be here very soon." So I took a seat and waited for Sevag to get there. After a while another person walked into the store and took a seat. After 45 minutes, when he was done with the first customer, he called the other customer and did not even acknowledge that I was still waiting. He didn't even think about calling Sevag to check where he was since I have been waiting for 45 minutes. The thing is I had to have a haircut today since I have an appointment tomorrow. He didn't even have the curtesy to offer to cut my hair. After another 10 minutes, when I realized that he was either blind or just can't offer good customer service, I asked him if there was an update on when Sevag was going to be in. I told him that I talked to you yesterday and you said that he would be here at 1pm. So, at that point, he decided to call him. Then while on the phone with Sevag, he said to me that Sevag will be here in 10 minutes but then before he hung up the phone with Sevag he said to him, take your time. What an unprofessional lying person. So, I realized that his "10 minutes" was going to be like his "very soon". So I left and I am not going to return to this store again. If you care about customer service, and are looking for good customer service along with your haircut, you won't find it with this unprofessional dude named Bashar. He has a sign on the window that he is hiring. Did the other barbers leave? Is it because he mistreats them too? Update: I just got off the phone with Bashar, and his attitude on the call is another proof of his lack of the basics of customer service. He called me to sarcastically thank me for the review and to tell me that he mistreated me because he hadn't had his lunch. What a lame excuse. So next time when you walk in to the store, ask him if he had his lunch in order to make sure that he treats you well. It is funny because although he hadn't had his lunch, he was fine laughing at funny videos with the other customer who arrived after me. Instead of at least apologizing for the mistreatment, he was very rude to me on the phone. What an unprofessional immature pathetic person. Update 2: This is in response to their updated response. Their first response was a short arrogant one: "Thank you, nice story". Now they changed it to the one below claiming that I never spoke to Bashar. Can they BE more arrogant and unprofessional? Instead of accepting responsibility for his behavior, they are now denying that he called me and spoke to me. What a bunch of liars. So pathetic!

I initially gave this place a one star because my hair was cut too short and I felt there was no going back. I felt the haircut I was trying to get was not envisioned by the barber even though I showed multiple pictures. Seemed like I ended up with more of a bowl cut. The owner of the place got in touch with me and cared enough to ask what was wrong. I appreciate that. He offered to cut my hair and promised better service. I shall keep the review at a 3 till I return for another haircut. My previous post mentioned that I didn't see talent here. I will give that another shot. The person who actually cut my hair was an awesome guy trying to make a living. I could tell he was new to the area and thus I wasn't angered by him not being able to envision my style. It was just a cultural difference issue and I don't blame him one bit. And I really hope the blame for this review does not go to that individual. I also mentioned that the shop seemed a little ethnic heavy within a specific culture, which ofcourse is not bad, but I felt maybe that's the reason it was doing well. Maybe it was getting good reviews due to a buddy system thing as I personally didn't have an awesome experience. Just wanted to clarify. Will update in time.

Golden Scissors, a store name that stands out really well; just as well as the quality of service it provides. I recently tried it out and was very satisfied with the service they provided. My barber, Bashar Koka, was an ace at his trade, cutting my hair neatly and in style in the nick of time. He makes sure that his customers are satisfied with the service and is quite friendly. Even a 30 min commute is worth it to get your hair done at this place.
