Josh hooked me up with my first fade style hair-cut. No barber until now has cut my hair in a way that I pictured it to be. Not sure if this was on purpose but he swiveled the chair at one point to execute some solid lines using the natural light from the window we were beside. This guys professionalism and passion shows! I have been going to Plan B for the past four years. Previously I had been going to a few different salons but wasn't really happy with my hair cuts and the price kept going up. A friend recommended Plan B and it's been awesome every since. Both Tim and Casey are very knowledgeable, great sense of humour, and I leave with a great hair cut every time. Plan B has been expanding over the years and it is great to see it develop into one of the top salons in the city. But what the other salons don't have is the community engagement demonstrated by the Team at Plan B. I have been getting my haircut at Plan B for 3 years now. The staff I’ve interacted with are highly competent individuals. Any mistakes have always been fixed quickly and owned up to (although in most cases my own mistakes), which is all I think can be asked for from a small business. Plan B has the polish of a corporate franchise, but the atmosphere of a family owned business. Parking on Lawrence has always been available during the time of my cuts, so don’t sweat having to head downtown for a haircut. Tim is the barber I use, but have witnessed satisfied customers from essentially all of their other staff. I wouldn’t consider going elsewhere, as this may one of those rare cases where the grass isn’t greener on the other side of the fence. Thank-you Plan B Team

Overpriced, though plenty of service options. Try to justify price with fancy drink service, but that doesn't justify the high cost. EDIT: I see the owner is claiming best location and best service. Both are lies. Location is terrible (come to congest downtown Kelowna! Just remember to park 15 blocks away), and the service was subpar at best. Cuts were uneven or often not what was requested. Have a Plan B instead of going to Plan B, folks.

I have short hair, and she gave me a great cut, but she also cuts the hair of many of my friends with longer hair, and they all rave about her as well :)

By far the BEST hair studio in Kelowna. Service was excellent and welcoming, and the hairstylists are trained very well. Plan B Headquarters' services are also competitively/well priced. As I walked in, I was welcomed by Tiff who then offered me a refreshment. Casey H was my stylist; this guy is one talented hair stylist. I initially saw his fade work on Facebook, and was so impressed that I decided to try it for myself. I am not disappointed to say the least. Casey is a perfectionist, and made sure I left there with every single strand in its place. Kudos to the salon owner... you've done a great job here.

I have been going to Plan B since it opend. I now live in Calgary and still make it back to get my hair done. I love the relaxed atmosphere, everyone always makes you feel so welcomed. Courtney Macleod did my hair this time and did an amazing job. She took me from Blonde to Brunette and did a flawless job on the color/cut and style. I would recommend this salon to all my friends. Plan B in my opinion is the Best Hair salon/Barber in Kelowna I have been getting my haircut for the last 5 years there. I normally see Falisha. Or Robyn. Both do mens hair and shaves. However I have other stylist cut my hair in the past at Plan B and were great.

Casey, cut and styled my hair. I have to give it to him, he gave me the best hair cut i have ever had! and styled it. The way i have always wanted my hair. It is amazing to see, so many people in one place who love their jobs, and are so charismatic. There was never a dull moment. Every single client that walked in, walked out with such a big smile on their faces, and a great hair cut. Went in for a cute pixie cut and ended up getting a very masculine very short cut. I guess I didn't explain the end result I wanted very well. I thought the stylist would have known how to cut short hair on women but apparently not. Nothing much I can do now but wait for it to grow out. I'm just upset that I paid $63 to basically get a men's cut... Not sure if I'll be going back as I don't think that the money is worth it.

Got a red balayage at this salon. Firstly they decided to do that on jet black hair in a single setting. Fine ,they are the experts. Asked them how long does the color usually stay,gave vague answers no time range. They missed a section the first time, went in again for it. Again asked is it fading, told me no it should be good for a few months. Used the recommended shampoo and conditioner with suggested frequency Just over a month since first got it done, the color has turned to a full lacklustre pinkish white to which they responded with that's how it looks after a month. Very disappointed with the lack of transparency. A colossal waste of time and money. Thank you, l look forward to hearing your solution to this matter.

I came here with myself and 4 of my groomsmen early in the morning. They treated all of us great and listened to how we wanted our haircuts as well as hot shave. They supplied us with liquids to calm us (me) for the big day and entertained all of us. I'm was really happy we went with them to get us cleaned up for the big day. I would suggest this establishment to anyone.... PS a year before I even stepped foot in this place I needed change to park and a employee seen I was struggling with the phone parking and they came and covered my parking cost with change. Plan B is my favourite place in Kelowna. Sit down with a beer and have an uber talented barber give you the due that suits YOUR style. I wish I could afford to get my hair cut every week, because i totally would! The worst part of the hair cuts is they never last, (stupid growing hair!) the best part however, is that I get to go back to Plan B to get my swagger back!

This place does not understand curly hair. I have just received the worst hair cut of my life. He basically thinned the outside layer of my hair, and did not layer my hair properly so there is absolutely no shape except the dreaded triangle. My stylist's diffuser kept collapsing and did not work making it difficult to dry my hair let alone style. I was recommended this place so I called and booked an appointment and specifically requested someone that cuts curly hair. I'm sure he had no idea what to do with my hair and I left in complete shock. It will cost a fair amount of money and probably a few years for my hair to recover. The place was clean any my stylist was nice, he did give me a discount for not being able to style my hair. I would not recommend this place if you have naturally curly hair as they don't seem to understand the difference. EDIT: I appreciate the offer to rectify the situation free of charge, to bring me back in to re cut my hair. Unfortunately I have lost faith in this establishment and will be going else where. I also want to note that I know they do have stylists that understand curly hair as I was recommended this place by someone with curlier hair than mine. It was that fact that I got this hair cut after specifically booking with someone who cuts curly hair makes me feel the salon/barbershop as a whole doesn't understand and it makes me too nervous to return. I havent had regular haircuts in 10 years, nor have I gone to the same stylist twice. Jessica changed that. I have short pixie hair that I'm growing out and shes done a FAB job of keeping the length as I request, while managing to clean up the mullet that occurs when a pixie grows out. Somehow I only show her one or two pictures, and she does EXACTLY what I want. Along the way shell consult and ask if I want little sections cut this way or that way.. usually I leave it to her judgement as she knows what looks best. And it's always turned out perfect. I was visiting out of town, and my husband and I decided to book some haircuts. We decided to come here based on the reviews online. Big mistake. Walk in - girls at reception are pretty much acting like you don't exist. Took a good 5 minutes for them to even pay attention to us. The place was so full and crammed and it seemed there were a lot of extra unnecessary staff (that were paying more attention to their cell phones than anything else). My haircut was fairly decent, the girl was prompt and proper even if everyone around her was gossiping and chatting. Husbands hair cut was terrible however. Did not match the picture he had whatsoever. Anyways. I wouldn't recommend it. I don't consider it a professional atmosphere or establishment whatsoever. Find another place where they will actually give you good service, the "hype" of this place is very overrated.

During my cut, Jenna was rushing to answer the phone, was rushing doing my hair, and was late for my appointment because of all this rushing around while taking care of her clients. The entire salon looked like everyone is almost panicking. Seriously. Hire. A. Receptionist. So the stylists can do their jobs. Five stars to Jenna and the other sylists!

Had Great Service and team brings good vibes. The problem was that the barber didn't listen to me. I had curly hair and 6 inches on top and 1.5 on the sides. I ask for the barber to keep the top the same and fade the sides from 1 to 0.5. Barber ends up giving me 2 inches on the top; deactivates curls. On the sides the fade was a decent job. Hairline was butchered and ended up giving me a upside-down v on my forehead. My haircut made me look like a mushroom and was very poofy and static after the haircut. Shampooing process was ideal and my hair was cleaned thoroughly. Terrible haircut but everything else was great.

I get my hair done by Jenna and she is absolutely amazing. She was the first person I got my hair done by when moving to kelowna. I'm very particular with my hair which is great because so is jenna. When I called plan b wanting a denim blue colour applied I was set up with her. I was in there for about 4 hours or so, jenna was determined to give me what I wanted. It turned out incredible and I received many compliments on it. Since then I haven't got my hair done by ANYONE else, not even my hair dresser back home. I went from Blue to silver blonde to a dark rooted blue to silver fade. I have never been disappointed. Also the environment at plan b is great, very relaxed and chill. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

I did not care for the experience at all! The worst part... I have a hair cut I hate! First, I walked in, two females sitting at the front desk (one with a hat and the other with glasses) completely ignored me for 10 minutes. Finally, the lady who was scheduled to cut my hair asked if I had an appointment, which I did. There was about a half hour wait time from when my appointment had been scheduled; which I didn't mind. When I booked my appointment, many days prior, I asked if I could skip the wash because I have very long hair and want to avoid the headache resulting from the lengthy untangling and drying, which they stated was fine. Yet, I found I was charged for full services, which were not performed (wash, cut and style). The hair cut itself, turned out crooked. I have chunks of hair that are an inch longer than a majority of my hair (I was cutting a lot of length off and asked for it to be cut straight). I requested some layers to be cut on the side of my face, so when my hair was up in a ponytail they would fall to the side. The lady cutting my hair asked me to pull them out myself (never had to do this before as this is why they are getting paid), when I pulled out what I believed to be the correct pieces, she cut them an inch shorter then the rest of the majority of my hair (which still fit into my ponytail and look like miscalculated layers; no point in any of it). Throughout the haircut, the lady continuously insisted I attempt cutting my hair myself at home; which is very insulting! In hindsight, I should have cut it at home, I would have yielded much better results. I asked a few times what her opinion was on how I should cut it and what haircut would look good, she consistently reverted back to: "it's your choice" I believe there is a lack of knowledge in the field along with customer service. If one is unable to or does not want to cut someone's hair, please advise them as opposed to ruining their hair. I am not at all happy! Waste of my hard earned money! Not to mention my hair will be Ruined for a few months, at the very least. I honestly wish I could give this a 5 star rating but unfortunately I cannot. I received a good haircut today and normally I would be quite happy. Recently, I decided that I wanted to experiment with longer hair and I told my stylist that I liked the length of the top and we could take off a little bit (we agreed that 1/4 - 1/2 inch would be okay). But I mainly wanted the sides and back cleaned and shortened up a little. I ended up having an inch taken off the top and the back and sides cut shorter than I expected. I had heard such good things about Plan B and perhaps I was expecting too much. The haircut was well done and the treatment I received was great. I'm sure when my hair grows out it will be better than it was before but I can't help but be disappointed given the hype about this place.

Firstly I must say I love this place and the set up. I have got my cut and shave completed here several times. Although last time I had a guy complete my cut. Let me say he was vey unprofessional. He was trying to prove himself by been a dominate alpha in setting where women work. He never gave me the chance to even consider the haircut he was about to do. He was very aggressive while using the shaver and he just went with his idea and never gave me any formal consideration to change the cut. He just did what he wanted and now I am very uphappy. Sadly it was not worth $40.00 and having this guy case my haircut, drop F bombs, and call down the person he is training while cutting my hair created a terrible atmosphere for myself and others around me. Regardless this person is still there and I do not want to mention names as it it much Harder to find a job in Kelowna in this industry. Regardless his suit needs some work, and his new Australia trip hopefully goes F in well BRO ! Keep those lines straight and I am sure if you pay for all day parking you won't have to worry about paying every 2 minutes for it.

I recently visited Plan B HQ, I wasn't going to write this review, but a couple days ago a friend of mine visited as well and had the same experience so I don't believe it was an off day. My cut was fantastic, very please with the result, and most everyone were very up beat and friendly. This would have been a 5 star review, of it was for one employee. I think I heard someone say Tim, and with looking into further reviews I can see he is the Manager. The whole time I was there, he did nothing, Sat in his chair on his phone, no smile, no greeting as I walked in the door, the only things I heard were him talking down, and very rudely to the employees. He so much as got into an argument with an employee right in front of me with a girl working. He was talking aggressively to her, and I knew by looking at her, she felt embarrassed, and looked like she wanted to cry. I felt terrible for her. He is arrogant, rude and made my experience very uncomfortable, and will not be returning as long as he is working there, which is really too bad because you have a good thing going on there, and its true that one bad apple can spoil the bunch. As for the rest, my experience was great. Thank you for the great hair cut, you have a good team working with you. Lauren.

I don't recommend that place at all - especially for women. Went there with my mom to get a haircut (she was getting it). The girl did terrible job,, charged her $60 for 30-40 mins job. Couple days before the visit I went there to ask about price, they said $45-$60 depending how long and how hard it is to cut and style the hair. The girl said that if it's longer than an hour - it will be around $60. Well, my mom spent that much money and they asked for a tip. My mom didn't like the haircut, plus the worker was complaining something about my mom.

Got my first cut here today. Anna who answered the phone was friendly, easy to talk to and got me an appointment on short notice. When I arrived I was greeted with a either a coffee, beer or water. Jess was my stylist and did a great job! She was also easy to talk to, well mannered and very skilled at what she does. I am going back for as long as I live in Kelowna! Also I hear they are expanding to the building next door so upwards of 20 chairs will be available (maybe more...?) dont quote me on that. But expansion is in the sights! Excited to see what happens next with them, I just hope they done close while renos are being done because I wouldnt know where to go! Keep up the good work boys and girls!! 5 * all the way! Love it there. I have long hair that I always grow out, then cut, then grow out (repeat). I’ve been there 3 times so far, all to different hairstylists and they have all been amazing. They take walk-in appointments which is handy if you’re hanging around downtown and have a spur of the moment idea. They can also usually get you in within a day or two if you call to book a lady minute appointment (they book you with an available hairstylist). They’ve got coffee, water, a really amazing space and wonderful staff. I highly recommend them for any hair needs, they also have barber services as well.

The sign at the door says "walk-ins" welcome but the experience proved otherwise. As I walked in there was a young woman at the counter apologising to a customer for having bobbled his reservation. A perfunctory apology was offered along with a rescheduling which didn't accord very well with the young man's day off. I waited patiently until the young man departed and I stepped up. The young woman made no eye contact but continued to key information into the computer. When she was done rather than look up and smile and ask what she could do for me she instead simply wandered off to what appeared to be her station without ever making eye contact or attempting to offer any assistance. As no one else appeared interested in my business I left. Conclusion, they must be really good, indeed, one of those places that survives despite their abuse of customers.

I’ve been here to see 2 different stylists on 2 separate occasions and both times I’ve asked for scissor over comb on my sides only to get the clippers and the buzzed/barber look that’s not my thing. Typically I would stop them from proceeding, but after having asked for scissor over comb each time I just assumed they were going in to do around my ears before getting to the point of no return with a pass of the clippers. Needless to say both times I’ve walked out of there a bit bummed with just a so/so cut. I don’t think the stylists are totally to blame however as I did recieve a quality of cut at the skill level I paid for and I do believe there’s very skilled stylist there. Where I think things have gone wrong each time is when I call in to make an appointment and specifically ask for a recommendation on the best men’s stylist (not barber) who’s really good at scissor over comb and end up getting who I believe is just free at the time. This last time she didn’t mention any names at all and just asked when I wanted to come in then made the appointment for the same day afterwhich I was told the name. This gives the impression that filling chairs is more important than quality of service. I would have waited 1-2 weeks if it meant getting the best mens stylist. All in all I do believe the stylists I got were probably really good at their jobs, I usually just prefer someone a little more experienced hence asking the receptionist for a recommendation on the best men’s stylist over all, not the best barber that’s available the soonest. To be fair, I’m sure if I had mentioned anything they would have recitified the situation right away as my stylist did ask if I was happy with everything last time. I told her it was ok cause I was trying to be polite, but to be honest I think I’ll look elsewhere next time. This place does have lots of positives so definitely go, but just make sure you are very clear with what and who you want if you’re a new client going on for the first time.

Not super impressed. Went in with exact pictures of what a wanted which was a pixi hair cut which was still quite long. Ended up with an extremely short men’s hair cut. No texture. All same length inching bangs . Can not be worn back as is like a spiky 8 year olds hair. Also I was made to come into the salon to get a colour “consultation” which was not done. Worst $70 I have ever spent. I’m not exactly sure how this place has so many good reviews. Maybe the other hairdressers are better?
