We have been going there for two years nicole is our stylist and she is great with us she always knows what we like and with my daughter not trusting people she got along with my daughter right away. I had out cut by one other girl when nicole wasnt there but never again only nicole as my daughter is calm with her. I am comfortable with her doing the job right.

If I could rate this less than 1 star I would. If I could go back and actually not pay I would, it was a waste of twenty dollars and that saying something. If you truly love your hair, you will not take it to these third rate haircutters. I have super thick, long hair, and when not all one length, really damn curly when styled with mousse. So I asked for a trim and layers, you wouldn't think it was hard for a trained hairstylist, but here it was. Over the course of my 20-25 minute hair cut, she brushed my hair out and trimmed the dead ends, but when it got to the layers, everything went wrong. Cayy-lee or something from the Rutland branch constantly asked for approval, every two minutes, that I didn't even want her too cut my hair anymore. She cut approximately 9 layers off the top of my hair, thats it, no under layers or anything. All I asked was for my hair to be not one length so when down my hair wouldn't look like a triangle. So please if you actually care about your hair don't go here, I'm sure some haircuts might be easier but sometimes it's best just not to risk it.

Nicole is the best! Very LGBTQ+friendly and has always treated my trans son with respect. When he moved out he took the bus for over an hour just to see her! He won't go to anyone else.

Things I have heard since my non-charismatic hairdresser cut my hair: -Did you do it yourself? -why did you do that to your head? Were you drunk? I was really unimpressed with the level of service and the quality of the haircut.

Good....but the price was high....including tips and taxes my color session would have been like 100 bucks....being a man , I thought that was a little pricey....i guess I will be going to the hair academy school ...they will do the job for 40 dollars....thats a big gap....im not mad ....just dissapointed ....i tried to negotiate but it was a no no.....????????????????

Pretty sure my "hair dresser" was on drugs while working. She said she'd been cutting hair for 2 years, yet she needed to be shown how to hold a pair of scissors (when she wasn't dropping them). Had to go to another place immediately after to get my hair fixed so I could be seen in public. Worst haircut experience ever.

I just wanted my long hair cut short because it's hot out. The manager was very confrontational about it. The girl said she "never done long to short hair before." And the manager came right up to me and started grilling me on why my hair needed to be short. It was unusual and unexpected. She did a good job, but the managers aggressive attitude is what's making me give this place 1 star.

I find the issue with this place is laziness and inexperience with most of the hairdressers. I recently took my son to get his hair cut after having ONE decent experience. However, when I took him this time he ended up walking out of there looking like Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber. Now, in most cases I would be able to go to another hair dresser and get it fixed but they had already cut it so short, I didn’t want to risk it. Not only did my son leave looking ridiculous but on top of that, the woman who was cutting his hair kept aggressively grabbing his head to move it and telling him if he didn’t sit nicely, that the scissors would cut him and make him bleed. First of all, my son is 4 and does not need a complex about the hairdressers because he is scared that he is going to get cut and bleed. Secondly, she had no need to be aggressively moving his head and telling him those things because he was sitting still. All that being said, we won’t be returning to First Choice and I truely hope these hairdressers learn to cut hair properly and get some experience with how to deal with children.

Super rude staff! Called to see if they where open this weekend and the girl that answered gave me such an attitude when I asked. As some businesses are still open stagetory holidays, so I just figured I'd call and ask for my fiancé, 4 year old son and I. The girl that answered was super snarly and gave me such attitude when I asked. Literally answered "Uhhh, NO it's a stagetory holiday??" I was shocked and thrown off how rudely she answered me. I wouldn't go back there if I was paid to get my hair done, just from my experience from simply calling and asking a simple question. Due to the snarly attitude she gave me. I'm never going there just because of that. If someone who's supposed to be professional answers my question rudely like that, I can't imagine how they are in person, or if I actually went there, and I'm def not finding out. Who wants to deal with rude snarly staff like that? Super unethical and unprofessional to be that rude over the phone. The staff needs some serious attitude changes and more professionalism.

I went to First Choice Haircutters to have a shampoo-set on February 8th for my step daughter's wedding. My appointment was with Joanna. My hair stayed nice for 3 days! When you ask for a hair wash; you have a real nice treatment! Hair massage and hot towel, very relaxing! It cost 5$ but well spent! I really liked her, and I highly recommend this hair salon. I will definitely go back when I am in Kelowna! Good job! Very pleasant ambiance too.

Horrible last 2 cuts were just pathetic the lady shaved my kids head bald ! After i said no not a buzz cut and showed her exactly what he wanted the second time my bf went in and when finished it looked like all they did was trim it and cut some parts... it was un even and still long definitely not the shorter cut he requested in fact i wouldn't even consider what she did to be a cut ..a 5 year old with scissors could have done better

I booked my streaks 3 weeks in advance so I would be ready for Christmas & our vacation. I show up early, was told she's running late to come back in 45 minutes. I go back home. Come back when I was asked to only to be told she was double booked and the other lady is already here. They were sorry. I booked 3 weeks ahead knowing it would be a 2 hour appointment. I booked it with Courtney over the phone is she booked her own appointment. It was so unprofessional. No apology from Courtney for wasting my time coming twice that morning. I will never be back.

I went to get a hair cut, i was so nervous as i never get a good hair cutting experiance ... Eaither my hair would turn out not the way i wanted, or the hair dresser would talk and talk or was just simply a loud person. I got lucky when I ended up with Erin, diddnt talk to much or to little (making it 'awkward',) Erin was veary nice, gave me her opinion but did excatly what I wanted. I will be going back before Christmas for sure.
