Great selection of traditional wet shaving gear. In fact only place in Calgary I have been able to find the red and blue line of Proraso Italian shaving soap and cream. If I had a complaint it would be that their shaving gear prices are a bit high. Sweet looking barber shop too. I'll have to go in for a cut one day.

Absolutely best barbershop i’ve ever been too, worth the wait and makes sense why their always busy. You can trust the barbers giving them a rough description of what you want and then they fine tune what you wanted into an excellent haircut that could never be any better. Shoutout to Julie!

Best place to go for a beard trim! You can go to any golf the 'clips' places and they'll charge you for a beard trim, but these guys will actually give you a proper beard trim. Awesome haircuts too! Ali did things with my hair and beard that I didn't know could be done!

First time getting my hair here done by Adam, and man is he good. I forgot to leave a tip lol. He took his time and made sure everything was perfect, he was nice and talkative, defeinitly gonna be coming back here. The shop was clean, they did extra services like straight shave your neck and hot towels, so the high price is what you pay for. Expect me again Adam!

Very disappointed with the service, got a haircut here and the lady did not even bother to clean up after the haircut, after I took shower, I noticed lots of hair around my ears. Means an other trip to the Salon. Don't waste your time and money here.

While the barbers are great and they have lots of entertainment to keep you occupied while waiting, I absolutely hate their system of not being allowed to make reservations. I've come here many times in the past, and I find myself being taken right away or waiting 1 hour plus for a haircut. A total waste of time if you come here and then leave because the line is too long. Totally inconvenient for someone that is always on the run.

Just flew in from out of town and searched for the best place. For once the rating held up. This is by far the best place I've been too. Best thing I had to go out after, and they had a central vac system and sucked up all the hair from my face. First time I had a haircut without the itchy hair after. 10/5 for sure. P. I come here one a month for a haircut. I just walk in and go with whichever Barber is available. I've received haircuts from several barbers here and they are all competent. I have no worry about who is going to cut my hair. I don't have to make an appointment, just walk in whenever I have free time.

STC does not take COVID-19 measures seriously and is putting clients at risk. Staff member Ryan Durbano admits to wearing a crochet mask with holes when tending to clients. Incredibly irresponsible and I would not recommend coming here if you are concerned about being exposed to the virus.

The new shop is spectacular. Very impressive, and really nice decor. My son loves getting his haircut here. he's 4 and never has an issue. I don't even have to stand with him anymore. The Barbers are great with the kids and super friendly. I got my haircut here for the fist time after going to a salon for years and they did an excellent job. Normally barbers will cut my hair too short and I hate it. Not here, they did a great job. there are iPads for the kids and they offer them candy as well to help get them going. There appears to be a good selection of grooming products as well. This is nice as I do find that these products are a much higher quality than your standard brand you can by at any drug store. Spending the extra money is good. The cost of the cuts are reasonable.

First time I have been here. You sign in at the iPads near the front door. Lots of TV's with different channels playing. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is an industrial feel to this place, with the hairdresser tools in actual tool cases. It was 30 dollars plus tax for a men's haircut. I was not disappointed.

Quality haircut, friendly staff, but expensive. Someone please bring back "old school barber shops" where there is a barber, a chair, a mirror and his "tools". I don't need to pay more just to support a place full of televisions and ipads. I know how to talk, and don't mind conversing with a barber in lieu of watching tv. Besides, my hair cut is only a 10 minute task, so it's not like I'm sitting down to watch a movie. Good job here, but I'll keep looking for another barber shop.

Have been here several times, but first review, and first time seeing Leo. He definitely wasn't expecting a woman to sit in his chair this afternoon, but he listened to exactly what I wanted and did the cut perfectly. Did not expect me to countinually chatter at him, and I was able to enjoy having my hair done, something that does not happen at any of the salons I have ever been to. Both my husband and I cannot imagine going anywhere else to have our hair (and his beard) done, and I will be sure to see Leo again the next time I need my hair cut!

I got my hair cut by Maher, and all I can say is 11/10. This hair cut got me laid. 2 Days after this hair cut, I got a number. The barbers are very engaging with their clients, and the owner does not settle for mediocrity. Everyone here is amazing at what they do, and those head vacuums, oh my god ! Amazing!! Next time I go in I look forward to my straight razor purchase, they turned me. Who says 5 blades are better? Real men only need one blade. I went in wanting to just tidy up my hair. All I asked for was to take maybe an inch off the sides and half an inch off the top, however probably 2.5 inches were taken off. My haircut doent necessarily look bad, it’s just not at all what I wanted. This ruined my first-time experience at this barber shop, even though there are so many other great qualities here. Service was incredibly fast, staff were extremely friendly, it was a great work environment and overall vibe of a barber shop, its just that I didnt get a great haircut. To be fair, I didnt come in with multiple pictures of the style I want, but I thought I was very clear when I stated that I didnt want very much taken off at all. I am willing to give this barbershop another shot (with a different barber), but I am very disappointed after my first visit.

This place is awesome. I bring my kids there all the time and Zohan is our preferred barber. My kids have been going there for almost two years (since they were 2 and 1). The price is fair and cut always looks fantastic. Sometimes we have to wait for Zohan but he is always worth the wait. We have sat with most of the barbers there but we love Zohan!

I have a lot of mixed feelings about this place. Wait time is never really an issue for me, and all of the staff are friendly. But, since I'm more of a casual walk in customer i get a different barber ever time. Usually it's great and i walk out happy with the cut, but I've had a couple of bad experiences. I've had my hairline edged crooked and i didn't even tell him to mess around with my hairline. My sideburns weren't level with each other, and i noticed a small cut that i got from the straight razor. This place is only really great if you find a barber that you're comfortable with and understands your style, unfortunately i didn't find mine here. It always feels like a gamble when i walk in the doors.

First impressions: its a decent Barbershop. Walking in at 1pm on a Saturday with 2 boys and no pre booking, all 3 of us were in a chair within 10 minutes. Barbers gave good cuts and were pleasant to chat with. Decoration on the walls gave it the barbershop ambience that I am used to. To be honest, because of its size, it looses a some of that personal barbershop feel. Kinda feels like what Tommy Guns should be. Cost wasn't too bad. 1 adult + 2 kids = just under $100. Final Thought : I didn't feel like I was in a barbershop filled with stylists. I got my hair cut how I wanted it. My 2 boys looked great afterwards. I would go back.

The whole crew is amazing at what they do - both myself and my younger boys love going here for a cut, which says a lot as kids usually don't like getting their hair cut. We went in for a kid's haircut today. I chose adam to do it cuz I saw his kids haircut on instagram. When we went in, I also asked him if he has done toddler haircuts before, just to double check and he said yes so I assumed he knows how to work with a kid. He didn't show the razor to my son first so he got so scared. He was shaking so that messed up the haircut. He said he has done kids haircut before and I trusted him but he doesn't even know how to entertain kids or reassure them that everything is okay. He only showed that the razor isn't scary when his hair was already messed up. I wish every barber was trained well how to work with kids before advertising kids haircuts.

This is an excellent barber shop, the best in Calgary! I don't have kids, but they have iPads at the front for people (or kids) to use while they wait. Visited South Trail Crossing Barbershop for my first time ever last week and had an amazing experience. When I walked in I almost turned around and walkout as it appeared to be really busy. After I was informed of how to sign in on the iPad at the door I asked how long the wait was going to be, the lady told me not long at all, unsure of how true this was I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt! So I signed in and took a seat. The owner, Maher (hope I spelled that right!), almost immediately came over and chatted with me, and almost before finishing exchanging pleasantries it was my turn! That's when I met Julie who was going to be cutting my hair. Frustrated with how my hair was, part of the reason I went to a new barber, I told her to do what she wanted. Left super happy with a great cut! Would recommend these guys to anyone, even kids as there were tons of kids in there!

These guys are on top of their game. Every time I leave I feel like a million bucks. I look great, my wife digs my always-manicured beard, and life generally rocks every time I get a shave. Mike, Darren, Zohan, Leo, Abe, Maged, and Maher have all shaped my beard. Maher even taught me how to properly shave my neck so I don't get irritation all the time. Great place to go unless you want to see a specific barber, as you cannot schedule an appointment. I was told to "check the website for wait times". This is useless, as by the time you arrive, there are 2 people ahead of you waiting for the same barber (such as today). This means i typically have to waste my entire morning or afternoon, and plan my day around a haircut. I spoke with Maher, and he said that he had issues with people not showing up for appointments, so appointments were no longer scheduled. While i can understand that position, it is part of the service industry. Two things to consider- I would come in more frequently if i were able to make an appointment, as coming to your shop wouldn't be so time consuming. Secondly, i am considering not going back at all due to the inconvenience, which is too bad as i am really impressed with Danny's service.

Brought my 3 year old in for a haircut based off of reviews. He sat the whole time even though he is pretty scared. Unfortunately, the barber cut his ear....didn’t tell me until it was all done. No one apologized, and when it wouldn’t stop bleeding while we were at the front desk, a guy came over (manager?) and just put something on his ear without asking. No one said sorry, and didn’t seem to think it was a big deal that they cut a little boy. Not only we were charged for the haircut, but not even given a discount. And his hair isn’t even blended.....I need to take him somewhere else to get it fixed. I would never bring a child to this place again.

This is mostly due to the fact that the person I see every time, Abe, is absolutely brilliant.Its because of him that I make the trip down from Airdrie every 2 weeks. It is a bit of a drive for me as I live in the north, but it was certainly worth it. Bright and open with a Man's Cave type of feel inside. Definitely not your wife's salon. Everyone is friendly, they have a pretty fair first-come-first-served system in place, it's huge, and the crew are skilled. STX is also very kid-friendly, they have tablets and games for kids in the waiting area and the owner will personally engage with everyone and make them feel welcome. I've been seeing the same barber there for 5 years, Abe is a friendly guy who does high-quality work (fade game on point), he cares about his work and always does a great job. Joe is the man! Listen, you can go get a $15 or $20 haircut but you’ll look nowhere near as good if you don't come here. Unless you are a friend of the owner be prepared to wait. I like most people are busy. I have an hour at lunch which when they first opened was long enough. I have since walked out three times after waiting more than 40 mins not only at noon. The barbers are quick to take smoke breaks and there's no sense of urgency or care for the customers time. The constant line up of kids and children is enough to make an adult never come back. I have told many people about this place over the last year. As of today I will be changing my opinion and telling people about my experience.

Unbelievable service!! I've been going to different high end salons and barbers for over 20 yrs in Calgary. For a fraction of the cost the crew at STC Barbershop destroy those guys. Great cuts, fun place, and amazing staff. you can hear the laughter as soon as you walk in the door. It's that kind of place.

I cant remember the last time I reviewed a business, but I had to today. These guys are stone cold killers. EASILY the best haircut I've had in 20 years. The owner Maher is the man, clearly loves what he does. Do yourself a favor and ask for Kam when you get there. Usually no wait I'm told, but if you have to wait, do it. I'd camp out front of this place for 48 hours rather than get my hair cut anywhere else. I dont know if anyone's ever become a multi-millionaire running a barbershop before, but if it's possible these guys will do it.

It was my first time going here and I would definitely go back. I love the way they allocate customers to barbers. If you have a preferred barber then you can select that individual or if you are in a rush you can see anyone available (very quickly) to get your hair cut. The iPad system they use if very efficient. I was very pleased with the hair cut I got with Ryan and it was done in a very timely manner. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

My husband and son have been going to South Trail Barbershop for the last 4 years and have had nothing but amazing experiences during that time. My 4 year old always sees Ryan and always has an excellent haircut that grows out beautifully. Ryan is also super kind to our son, chatty, talks to him like a “big boy” and is just overall a really stand up genuine guy. My husband sees Sam and says the same thing, excellent cut always and just a top notch guy. The front desk staff are always friendly even when they are running around doing many tasks (sanitizing seating, door handles, the front desk etc). It takes a lot to be a successful business and often it’s not just the haircut but the whole experience and they are doing an amazing job in all aspects here!

Great place & great staff. First time there and at first I wasnt sure how I felt about the cut. But by the time I got home and styled it my way I was happy. The only issue I had was the guy put way to much product in my hair but really who cares because I always restyle when I get home. Great experience and a great shop. Also had to wait all of 3 min on a walk in so that was a huge plus. Highly recommended!

my husband and son have been coming here for about four years now and have tried every barber. we always end up going back to abe. i am giving a 4 star review instead of 5 because they dont take appointments and we have never come in without having to wait over an hour as abe is usually backed up with atleast 4 or more people waiting. Although he is very quick and thorough we end up always spending a big chunk of our time in the lobby waiting our turn. i hope management sees this because it is very frustrating when we have to wait for people who get all sorts of different fades and designs for such a long time just to get a basic cut and beard trim with my son and hubby. They are very good with children also and the candy and ipads are a bonus while we wait but other than that this place is great and i highly recommend.

Very great first experience at South Trail Crossing Barbershop! Maher and his team are very professional and this is the first time I left a barbershop without hair all in my ears and all over the place. Best part was that Maher is always so polite and very welcoming. Will be back for sure!

Set aside the fact, there are some of the best barbers in Calgary here. As soon as I walk in, I am greeted like a friend, more than a client. The owner, Maher, has one of the most infectious laughs, ever. He is a very genuine person, who obviously loves the industry. I have had my hair cut by; Maher, Julie, Ryan, Leo, Zohan and Ali. All are incredibly talented barbers. The front counter ladies, are always fun too All around a solid, trustworthy place. These guys, deserve your business!

Have been to south trail a few times now and had hair cuts/ beard line ups from 3 different barbers. The quality was amazing the staff were friendly and talkative but not over baring. The shop is self is amazing, all kinds if sports memorabilia and amazing art all over the walls, tv and tablets to watch while you wait. Had the chance to meet the owner and he was a genuine guy, very friendly. I highly recommend this shop it will be my go to shop from now on.

I have been getting my hair cut here for a couple of years and to today like always the service was fantastic. It's my opinion that Maher has done a great job of creating an inviting atmosphere. It is important to understand however the this shop can get very busy sometimes and wait times can vary, but the quality of service is always top notch.
