From the moment I walked in, I was greeted in a very kind and welcoming manner. Even though I have never been to King's Own up until this past Monday, I was treated as if I were a regular who had come in for his weekly trim. The shop was clean, the temperature of the shop was well adjusted, good tunes playing, there was a frickin' sword sitting there (always a good sign), all-around I was very impressed. With the COVID-19 going on especially, I was super happy with their commitment to cleanliness and sanitation, and they were following guidelines to the tee. Also, hot towels are a thing, and they're awesome. Just discovered this. Thanks guys!

Been seeing Chris Lord for almost 3 years now, from being an apprentice all the way to being a barber shop owner. A great guy and family man overall, but most importantly he takes extremely good care of each client. Not only does his background as a hair stylist at a salon allow him to be extremely comfortable with sheers, he also provides straight blade shaves with precision . He is an avid volunteer at the Rolling Barber (haircut services for the homeless) as well as a supporter of first responders and military personnel. I can be very picky about barbershops. Its not just about the haircut but the experience you get there. I have to say since I arrived to Ottawa a couple years ago I haven't found a place where I could get my hair cut like I wanted it and found a great atmosphere with a barber that is very friendly. Despite the measures for the Pandemic Chris made me feel like a friend and at home. I am a new client to him so he was getting to know what I want and he went into detail, stopping through hair cut to make sure I was getting what I wanted. Meanwhile we had great conversation. Overall a great experience. I highly recommend Kings Own and you bet I'll be going back, I found my barbershop in town!
