I went here to get a men's haircut and beard trim. Wow, it took a month to grow my hair out long enough for my normal barber to straighten it out. I decided to shave off my beard and start anew. I had the younger guy with the middle barber chair. I will not be going back!

Do yourself a favour and make this your new barber. $16 for a haircut, but they actually take their time, and care about their work. Excellent barbers who are very skilled in their craft will take their time and meticulously work to give you the perfect cut.

Stopped in this morning and happy to see there was no wait. Very nice female barber gave me a great cut that was one of the best I have had in years. Added bonus of having classical music in the background, very soothing and pleasant. Very careful cut and a fair price . By the time I was leaving there were 3 people waiting, so the word is clearly out, this is a great barber shop, even if Ernesto is retired!

Ernesto's Barber Shop is a great place to stop for a quick haircut. They are cash only but you can get a haircut for $20 including a $2 tip. The barbers are friendly and professional. It's first come first serve, I've usually walked right on to a chair in the mornings but there is usually a small wait after work.

My first cut here by the older barber was excellent. However, my second cut here by the younger barber was a disaster. Later, when I made my third visit, I arrived 8am and the cut was perfecto. I will be seeing him again soon.

Went here for the first time today. I have been looking for a good barber in Ottawa since I've been here and found the one. The wait could be shorter but it's a good sign that people will wait for over an hour for a cut from Ernesto's. The price is currently $15 for a cut, but that is cheaper than other places I have gone and a much better cut. Will definitely be coming here next time.

They gave me my last haircut before COVID in February 2020 and got rid of the considerable mop that grew on my head in July 2021. Both cuts were excellent. Really enjoy coming here - fast, friendly, professional. One thing to note is that they are cash only (I always forget!) but they are always kind enough to let me run to an ATM and back after the cut.

Always a great cut. You usually wait in line anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, but it's worth it and everyone knows it. The gentlemen who run the shop are friendly and courteous. Enjoy listening to them jabber in Italian about the Italian shows on the TV. Price has gone up to $13, which is still the best deal I've ever had for such a good cut.

Saw the reviews of this place, thought I'd give it a try since it was around my budget I was looking for. I came in, I was greeted and didn't have to wait too long. Anyways, I asked to cut the sides for a fade look and trim maybe a bit for the top of my hair. My hair is a bit lengthy at the top, also curly so some of the top hair curls to the side which was the look I was going for. Apparently the guy that was cutting my hair he thought I wanted a comb over cause he said it looked like I had a comb over hairstyle when I came in because I had just woken up. I didn't ask for a comb over, I asked to cut the sides, yet he proceeds to shave off some of the top hair that was curled to the side. I confronted him about it, he didn't apologize or offer to try and fix it at all. He just kept quiet and just did finishing touches as he probably didn't want to deal with it lol. Won't be coming back. Thanks, now one side is long and one side is short. I don't recommend this place at all.

Khalid is a king with the clippers. You will not find better value for your money than from him. I’ve gone through many barbers and there’s never been one to interpret my preferences with ease and accuracy. He’s devoted to his mastery and will not finish the job until he has addressed all your needs. Keep up the solid work!

Gentlemen from Ottawa, if you want the best haircut in town don't look any further, Ernesto´s in Bank St. is the best barber in town. Very affordable with an amazing staff and good atmosphere. Just make sure you called before show up and double check if Mr. Tri is available, that's your guy.

Guerino is an old school barber, who spends a lot of time making sure every blade of hair is cut equally. Best guy for combovers and tapered cuts. However, gave the younger guy, Tri, a chance the other day. I could tell midway he had messed it up. Sticking to Gue for sure

After seeing such great reviews, I've decided to give Ernesto's a try. They seemed nice and the wait time was roughly 30 mins (not bad). I had the old gentleman to cut my hair. My hair cut was ok, nothing great or to complain about. But what's upsetting was, I got two small cuts at the top of my left ear from the razor blade and another one closer to my neck. I didn't notice until I returned home. I called to speak to him about it and he kept denying it. Until, I told him I just wanted an apology. He only then admit to it and apologized. I should of been made aware of this while I was there, unprofessional and carless to say the least. I won't be returning and wouldn't recommend this tiny ghetto shop to anyone!

I was looking for a good haircut place in Ottawa for months and finally came here to do a nice haircut. MARK is an amazing person. He cares to do your haircut, takes his time to do that. I will definitely go back to this place. You can park close from this barber shop (inside street has 1 hour parking limit). Highly recommend this place and MARK. Keep it up!!!
