Got a haircut here before, was good pretty standard stuff. Today (Tuesday January 29th) I come by for a hair cut at 1:40 pm Doors locked lights are off, I had checked if it was open on google before coming it said 8:30 am to 5:30 on Tuesdays. The unlit open sign next to the locked door says 8:30-5:30. I go to fortinos and come back a half hour later still closed.

I would frequently go there last year and the red-headed lady would always give me a great haircut, she deserves a 5 star review. I've also heard good things about the girl with the sleeve. The rest of the place doesn't. Recently Mike, the owner cut my hair. While not only talking to other people throughout the entire haircut and not paying attention at all, he royally ruined my hairline and gave me an awful haircut. I thought it was just him, but last week, Juan gave me a haircut. He did such a poor job I honestly could've done it better myself, some parts he literally just missed.

Over all good people.. but it took an hour for just a skin fade that didn’t even turn out to a skin fade. It cost $24 for a bald/skin fade but i said I’m a student so it’s supposed to be $20... but because i got a “skin fade” which turned out to be neither a bald fade or a skin fade made it $24.00 anyways. Like what constitutes a “student haircut” when the person is a student... smh. Bad haircut for the price I paid and how long i sat on the seat for. Should’ve only taken 25 minutes. I didn’t even get a lineup. Way too much

I'm new to Hamilton, and I've spent the last year plus looking for a barber I could go to regularly. Most are either too expense, just trying to get you in and out as fast as possible, or both. Mike's Campus Barber Shop is not like that at all. Friendly staff, they take their time and pay attention to detail, and they have great pricing especially for students.

I've always been a fan of more traditional hairstyles but this might be something to consider for others. When I went in I noticed the few people who got their hair cut before me were all pretty much getting the same ish short haircut. So I gather some of the reviews are true that they don't really do modern hairstyles. The lady who did my hair was quick and got my hair exactly how I wanted it and overall really great, but a little distracted at times checking her phone and talking to the guys waiting at the back. You have to be pretty mindful about when you should go up, chances are you walk in with a few people waiting and after a few of them went it's likely the next free stylist has forgotten if you should go next. Not their fault, you just sit randomly in a row when you come in, and when it was around my turn I'd forgotten about it myself if not for the guy beside me reminding me. It is really cheap, 25 for a guys hair is already pretty good and if you are a student its only 20. Overall fairly nice experience. TL:DR: Quick cut, cheap, and nice stylists, but might only do classic styles well, and be sure to know when you are supposed to go up yourself.

It shouldn't take more than 45 minutes to cut a guy's hair. Walked in at 1215, left just before 1 because the my spent half the time chatting with the customers. I'm sure they are great guys and look skilled, but the wait time is too much to even be worth it.

went in needing a trim and some clean up, had decently long hair around 7 inches on top and 5 on the sides, ask for a bit off the top and some off the sides. What I get i can only called a disaster, the barber never once asked what kinda length I wanted, so I ended up getting my hair so short my scalp shows through, I am beyond angry.

Discovered this gem a couple of years ago and have no reason to go anywhere else. Staff are friendly, fun, and take the time to get to know their clients. Always a great haircut and reasonably priced. Can get busy, but interactions with the staff make the wait much more bearable.

Went here twice asking for an undercut/combover. First time, thought maybe this barber wasn't familiar with the style so it didn't turn out great. Gave them another shot and came again working with a different barber this time. Again, it went horrible. Tldr: these barbers are probably great for more traditional styles but go somewhere else if you want a more modern style

Would recommend for others, but not great for me. Also, shaving someone's hair while looking at a TV isn't really a great idea.

Friendly staff, but I asked Juan to cut my hair with a 2 on the sides and fade it into the top. And maybe take an inch and a half off the top. He didn't listen at all and cut over 3 inches off the top and now I look like i'm off to boot camp... If you go, only see Mike

#1 - Waited 90 mins for a haircut at a random time on a monday. That's insane. The people weren't even in order and it was often chaos determining who was next in line. #2 - I told the barber twice how to cut my hair. They literally ignored me and did it the way they wanted. I immediately realized that it wasn't correct and demanded it be corrected. It still wasn't good even after that. #3 - Beware of their "coupons". They print a $5 off coupon in a student agenda book distributed to all McMaster students. The student price is $20. After you pay, they take that coupon off of the original, non-student price ($24). This is mentioned nowhere, there is no fine print on the coupon. So essentially you really only save 1$ after they have already lured you there with the promise of saving 5. This is dangerous and deceptive marketing. WHY would you put a coupon in a student agenda if you don't intend on honouring the student price!?!? What the coupon should really say is save 1$. What an absolute scam. Waste of my time.
