Judy is so wonderful. I went in to get my long hair chopped back in March, loving my 90's Leonardo DiCaprio style that she gave me. Judy listened to what I wanted and guided me through how it would work for me. She gave me styling tips and suggested different products that can help me and my hair type. The shop was clean and had great music. 10/10 would recommend!

I was really looking forward to my hair appointment and initially was very pleased with my results, however after getting home and taking a closer look, there are sections of my hair that don't sit right and make it look funny. I also noticed that there were sections of my head that weren't cut evenly. Maybe the guy was having an off day or something as I've seen other photos of his work, which look incredible, but unfortunately my hair cut wasn't the best. I am incredibly pleased however that after leaving my initial review Skylar called me to see if there was anything he could to to improve my experience, but as I travel frequently for my job, unfortunately I won't be able to make it back. I still recommend going into see them yourself!

Amazing! Started to come hear just before the Covid Pandemic following Chelsea from her previous employer. She’s by far the best! I commonly come in at tell her to simply be creative with the canvas I present her. She Never Disappoints and the results have always been simple or respectful! Braeden also is a wizard with the shears! Went in last time and had him just clean up my hair and trim it a bit. I cannot even start putting into words how much I thought a small trim made such a huge difference. You could say he turned water into wine.

I just got my first cut since the beginning of lock-down. Glassbox was recommended to me a while ago, and this was my first time. Mike cut my hair and I had a great experience. Safety was absolutely taken care of... I waited outside until my appointment, only two of their chairs were in use for customers, hands are sanitized right away, we all wore masks (they have some for sale for $2 if you don't have one, but I had my own), and I paid ahead of time so there was no contact whatsoever after the cut. This is going to be my new permanent shop.

I had my long (COVID) hair done by Braeden. I had asked to keep the length with an option to have my hair put up cleanly (like a man bun) for a formal event that evening. I was very pleased with the results and how he meticulously crafted and styled my hair. It took more than an hour but well worth the wait. It’s very rare that I have my hair done properly by other barbers but Braeden took it on a different level. I’m very happy and satisfied with his handiwork and would definitely visit again for my next haircut.

Judy Pham is a really good barber. She asked me questions, showed me samples, and then set to work. I am really pleased with what she did. As it so happened, my wife was having her hair cut in the seat next to me and Judy was quite happy to get my wife's input on how my hair should be cut. Yes, I have been married for a long time and many are the lessons I have learned. The Glassbox shop is clean, spacious, and is comfortable. They are certainly observing all the protocols for these pandemic times. I will happily go back. Because of the long shutdown and rapid reopening, their payment systems as of June 30 are not yet working but will be soon according to the owner. For the next little while, they require cash payment although you have the option of paying online before you visit the shop. If you do not have cash on hand, there is an ATM in the basement and the fee for the transaction is $2.00, which is reasonable. This is, however, temporary and in no way should it deter anyone from using this excellent barber shop.

Great place to get your hair cut! Judy is my barber/hairdresser and I came in having never grown my hair out before. Due to covid, I wasn't able to get my hair cut and it got quite long. I told her what I think I'd like, but let her take over since I have a receding hair line and wanted her to make it look good. Not only did she do an amazing job just being personable while I was in the chair, but my hair looked great! I've never gotten so many compliments on my hair before and felt like a new man after! I let Mr. Slender Barber do whatever he wanted and the result has earned many compliments from people around me. The booking process is great, being able to do it online and book for anyone is helpful when I don't have the time to speak to someone. What sets them apart is their offering of drink for while you wait and having it also be completely complimentary is a great first impression for new customers. I've had two different barbers here cut my hair and both were incredibly talented, I was very happy with cuts. So why am I leaving a one star review? I was walking by their windows on my way home a couple of weeks ago and I noticed something very troubling. In regards to signage that pertains to the face covering by-law, someone from the shop took a black sharpie and blacked out the bit that says "Unless Exempt." When I looked above the official City of Hamilton sign there were black stickers that read something along the lines of "Masks Must Be Worn.." Again, just like with Dr. Disc and their store policy, NO STORE POLICY OPERATES ABOVE LAW. The law clearly states you must treat medically exempt costumers with respect and not infringe on their personal medical information. I can't believe that businesses are openly discriminating against costumers that cannot or choose not to mask for medical reasons. Just like with Dr. Disc I'm NEVER GOING BACK! You guys are incredibly talented but discrimination cannot be tolerated.

The shop is clean, trend and cozy and in these times it’s especially great being a small 2 person operation as you don’t feel crowded in there. When I called to book, there were no assumptions about my gender made (based on my voice), asked if I wanted a shave/beard trim. In the shop I talked what I wanted through with David, an androgenous cut that left length on top for my curls, with a fade on the side. Talked me through every action, discussed top length, fade height etc. Really happy with the result. Quality shop. Will go back 100%

I used to love this place. Live a 5 min walk away, and was thrilled to see them come. I show up once every few months to get a haircut from Mike. He always did a fabulous job, and the free drinks were a BIG BONUS. Went in today, and for some reason they have turned into CASH ONLY!!! Conveniently, they also have an ATM! I wasn't paying 5 bucks ATM fees, so walked to the RBC on Locke & Main to get cash. Come on guys... this is 2020. I should be able to tap my phone. I never carry cash - so I'm not coming back till you take that CASH ONLY sign down.

If I could give higher than 5 stars I would ...Hands down the best barbershops in the GTA. I've been going to glassbox for several years. In Toronto and now in Hamilton - the level of service and talent is the same no matter the location. I see David in Hamilton - phenomenal barber, super talented and always attentive to detail. I have never had a less than perfect cut. Cannot recommend enough.

These guys go to school for this stuff, they're trained professionals, and Glassbox is from now on my go-to barbershop in Hamilton. Here's why: As a man with long, thick, wavy hair, I have been looking for a place that can cut it properly for a long time. I've had countless barbers and hair stylists tell me conflicting things on how my kind of hair should be handled (some say thinning scissors are what I need, some say thinning scissors are terrible for my hair). I've never been fully satisfied with my haircuts until now. At Glassbox, Riley gave me every assurance that he could handle my mop of a head. He was able to back it up too with the perfect haircut, as well as with thorough explanations as to what he was doing during each step of the cut and why.

This is by far one of the best barbershops I have ever went to. The service is top knotch- never been disappointed. It’s awesome because you can even enjoy a nice cold beer, or glass of whiskey while getting your haircut. Very friendly staff, always smiling and having a good time. My favourite barber would have to be mike, he takes his time with your cut and always make sure you haircut looks exactly how you want it to, even if it means taking extra time. I would 100 percent recommend him to anyone.

Ended up getting haircut by Skyler, and let me say i was not disappointed. Usually i have to go to barber a couple times to get the outcome i wanted, but dude nailed it first try. Hamilton is fortunate to have Glassbox and Glassbox is equally as fortunate to have Marissa. Let's put it this way -- Marissa started cutting my hair earlier this year, it was potentially one of the best cuts and experiences I've ever had. I had no issue commuting out of town to get my hair cut and I've followed her wherever she went. From Uptown Waterloo to Hamilton, I have no issue going out of my way, because I know I can trust her to do an amazing job every single time and she's just simply, as cool as it gets. The same goes for the rest of the team at Glassbox -- everyone is incredibly hospitable and super talented, so if you're looking for a new place to get a fresh fade and immediately feel like a regular, don't hesitate twice.

This was my second time coming to GlassBox after a friend recommended by Ross, great decision and I'll be here to stay. Trendy and minimalist shop, with a 2 customer at a time layout, meaning that I felt good about the space despite Covid restrictions. Overall great experience, would highly recommend.

My hair is thinning and it's sometimes tough to find people that make me look good but every time I''ve left Skyler I am extremely happy with the cut.
