I always have an amazing experience at OBB. As a queer person, I don't always have a great experience with folks cutting my hair given the very gendered hair cutting environment, but at OBB I feel immediately at home and taken care of. I have worked with Stevie a couple times and they have given me some fabulous cuts! OBB is my hairdresser of choice moving forward and I would highly recommend.

I came in for a colour correction with Julia after I put my hair through a lot with DIYs. She was super patient explaining everything to me and to make sure we're on the same page and that I would have the realistic expectations. She made sure to use a low developer and to keep the hair healthy despite bleaching. The colour came out really nice and overall the experience was just really pleasant.

I had heard a lot of good things about this place so I was really disappointed when I left with a choppy, uneven cut (my hair is short so the uneven bangs and choppiness is very noticeable). It's been a couple weeks and it hasn't grown out nicely either. Everyone was nice, but I don't think I'll be going back.

I really wanted to like this place, after seeing so many great haircuts and reviews on line. Though it seems that if you didn't get the stylist (Laura I think) who isn't there anymore, you aren't guaranteed a good cut. Went there and discussed options with my stylist, I was pretty open to different ideas, choosing to shave my nape and trim a bit of the length off the top. The shaved nape however didn't have any taper or fade done to it, it looked like that was the first time they've ever shaved anything. After having done head shaving myself at home, as well as going to different barbers around town, this result was really disappointing. The service was friendly and there wasn't any wait when I got there for my appointment. The hair washing was good and head massage was a nice touch though. I just ended up going to a barber to get it fixed first appointment available a week later. Wasn't worth paying $60 for.

Had my first haircut here today and it was SUCH A GOOD EXPERIENCE. I booked my cut with Stevie who worked their magic on my wild curly hair and made it look and feel absolutely AMAZING. Genuinely one of the best haircuts I've ever had-Stevie was so kind, respectful, and professional, and made sure that I always felt comfortable and heard throughout the entire appointment. They really know curly hair-and they totally CRUSHED IT. As for the shop-they are super clean and have lots of great COVID measures in place making sure everyone feels safe and calm! I can't rave enough about what a wonderful experience I had-definitely go see for yourself!

Walking into OBB, I was promptly greeted and offered a beverage while I waited. My hairstylist Kat listened to what I wanted and delivered everything I asked for. She frequently checked in with me to make sure we were on the same page. The whole experience was pleasant, relaxing and left me with a haircut I'm very pleased with. Kat let me know to check in with her if I need any touch ups after everything settled.

Apie is the best professional hair stylist for all, especially Africans/Blacks! As a student at Dalhousie I have been unable to manage my very coarse natural hair and she did my wash, provided treatment, braided and nourished my hair with impeccable patience and care. This was very inexpensive for the level of professionalism and quality. As an African it has been hard to find stylist during the semester away from home. Merci Beaucoup! See you in 2 months.
