Really lovely staff but my haircut was very poorly executed. It is noticeably longer on the left side of my head than the right side and the sideburn length is inconsistent.

It's hard to find a good Barber, even harder to find a great one. Unfortunately for me, being from Vancouver, I found two great ones here, across the country. It's almost worth the 8 hour flight. Tight fades, tight beats, rinse, repeat.

I’ll start by saying that like most people, I am the kind of person that has my barber and sticks to them. It keeps things simple and efficient. Being from out of town I knew that the day would come that I would need to take the plunge and find a barber here that could take care of me with a seamless transition. Lucky me! First try and I’ve found that spot. Nick at Noreast did an awesome job. Very friendly and efficient, clearly knows what he’s doing (my hair is notoriously difficult to cut, I’ve heard a few times). Needless to say I will be back and recommend this wonderfully designed space with talented employees to anyone looking for a cut. All the best, Mykal

Good atmosphere, great people. Came in with a bunch of hair. Showed a picture of someone with a longer cut. Asked a bunch to be taken off the sides. Got a super short cookie cutter haircut that everyone has. Probably should have explicitly asked to keep the top ???? Thought the picture was enough.

Since I've lived in Halifax I've tried random barbers constantly, until I found these guys. Now they're the only place I go to. I literally walk in, tell them to do what they want, and get nothing but compliments afterwards. They're the reason I decided to start growing beards, with their expert grooming and shaping. I found Stu via Instagram. I sent him a message and he replied immediately with a link to the Noreast site where I could make a reservation. The space is stylish and the service was excellent. I've tried getting my long hair cut at several barber shops around town and most feel more comfortable using clippers. Stu had no issues and gave me a great scissor cut. Thanks again man. I'll be back for a beard trim soon!

Clean, comfortable, old school barbershop on the second floor of an Argyle Street walk-up. Feels a bit like walking into history. The staff is friendly and attentive. This is an experience not to be missed.

This was my first time going to an actual barber instead of a chain hairdressing place and I am glad I did. The employees were super friendly and they adhered to the Covid restrictions put in place. My haircut was simple and executed perfectly. We were able to talk about anything and it never seemed forced. All in all it was a pleasant experience and I will definitely be going back.

One of the worst beard trims. I asked to keep the length, just shape it a bit. He proceeds to nearly buzz-shave the side of my beard, while keeping the chin part super-long. Additionally, I booked the deluxe trim. During the beard trim, he asks me "uhm, do you want a straight shave?" Yes, I booked it for a reason. Then, he asks if I want beard oil. "Sure", I reply - he comes back, and makes me put it in myself, offering me nothing to wash my hands. Fantastic.

A very quality haircut on longer hair. The fade and hair lines will need a touch up in a couple weeks, however that was likely due to time restrictions. The service was phenomenal and extremely accommodating despite the limited timing.

The guys at Nor East are second to none. Calm and super cool atmosphere as soon as you open the door. The barbers are always attentive and very dedicated to their craft. Top notch cuts at extremely reasonable rates. Nick Lace is my personal go to guy, but there isn't a single one there I wouldn't get a cut from. The shop owner, Jesse, is incredibly inviting and always gives you a personal greeting as you walk through the door. 5 star service, from 5 star boys.

I went there based on the great 5star reviews here, but each time I go I regret it after. Each time I said to myself maybe only this time they rushed it and didn't care how they are sending me home, otherwise people wouldn't give 5star rating if it wasn't good. I have also seen great pictures on their instagram of some sample of their work but it seems the quality of the work done in the pictures are only for their friends and/or advertisement and you won't get that in practice. One time I had to wait for four days and go back to fix it, and one other time he didn't even line up back of my neck and when I got home I had to ask my friend to do it for me cause I couldn't wait several days to go there again to finish my neckline. I still can't understand how people gave five star rating for here. It is really not a five star work.

My regular shop was closed as my barber is away for a few months. So I was forced to find a new shop and i'm glad I gave these guys a chance. They were professional and patient with me, as I havent had to describe to a barber how I like my hair in nearly 10 years. I was impressed with their attention to detail and it was pretty clear that they take alot of pride in their work. Definitely would recommend
