Question is I request her can u fix this She said I will charge again even I did not said to recutt all hair again I think she need to cutt hair properly it does not mean if he was kid and u cut the hair like this .we will not come again. u cutt the hair of kid like this very bad

I've been going to Denim & Smith for almost 1 year now. The first time I went I called in for an appointment with whom ever was free and although I'm sure all the stylists are good, I feel very lucky that Kelly ended up being my stylist. Kelly has a keen and decerning eye for detail, with an artistic expression, she brings a professional attitude and a joyful enthusiasm to her work. If you've ever spoken to Kelly she is a people person with a fire cracker personality with wit and charm to go with it. As long as Kelly works at this location or anywhere in the city, for that matter, she will be the only stylist I will go to for all of my hair care needs.

I’m really torn on this review. My husband and I (both male) went here for a haircut. I normally go to Tommy Guns and he normally goes either here or to MVP. When we were done, my husband had a really good-looking cut but mine was… When we walked in I was seen right away with no wait (there was no one else in the store). The guy that was doing my hair was dressed to leave and looked like he was on his way out when he was asked to take me. He looked visibly upset but that’s not what this review is about. I understand it can be frustrating to get a customer before you’re off. He was extremely quiet and it was difficult to hear some of his questions which I think could have played into it. I explained the cut I was looking for and he started cutting. I asked for one side to be blended to the top and the other side to be buzzed all of the way to the part. He asked if I wanted a line where my part was and I said yes. What I got was a chunky and uneven buzz up to my part that semi-blended into the length at the top but was separated by an equally chunky and uneven part line. What surprised me about it was that he worked on that for quite some time and it still turned out pretty bad… There were many loose hairs that stuck out after the buzz as well. He seemed more concerned about leaving than anything and didn’t wash my hair out so I had to wait an hour to get home to wash it out myself and because he didn’t clean the hair off my neck or face and ran out as soon as he felt he was done, I had to deal with hair clippings all over. I got what I could and put up with the rest. I won’t be going out of my way to come here again and I won’t be recommending it. The NW location gave me equally bad cuts and service the few times I went there.

They give you exactly what you ask for. They communicate well and are open to any change you may want to do. The price is a little steep though. The only time I think a $30 hair cut is worth it is if you are are chopping off a lot of hair.

If I could figure out how to give this rating 0 stars I would. I tried to get a hair cut here and half way threw the hair cut I had to stop the hair dresser. The lady had no experience in cutting hair!! It took me 7 months to grow my hair back out and 4 months before I felt like I could go out in public she botched it so bad! And then tried to make me pay for it. My husband was appalled and so was my family when they saw the damage. They are real jerks here.

To be honest Denim and Smith in Crossiron is the only mall location I've ever been to that I've actually left satisfied. I don't know her last name but if you're gonna book at all definitely ask for Jazzy, she lines me up properly every single time! Not to mention she has a wicked personality and makes the experience enjoyable.. nothing worse than having an awkward barber you don't know what they're doing back there... tip well gents!!

There was really rude and disrespectful staff, we were showing the lady a picture of what my son wanted and she kept demanding we knew the numbers of the cut, I think she should learn that it's her job not ours since she's getting paid. She then started asking personal questions that had nothing to do with my sons haircut. I will NEVER step foot into that store again. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

If you will go here without an appointment, your stylist will be whoever is available at the time, which I’ve been here a few times and all of them have been good. Did a fantastic job on my son's hair the other day. He was very patient and professional. I will be going to get my hair lined up by him shortly. Won’t recommend this place. Barbers here particularly the one that has a tattoo on his biceps needs updating of his knowledge. I asked the latest men's fashion hair cut and even showed a picture however give me a somewhat military cut or a grade 5 hair style. Little to No common sense. NOT impressive at all!

Barber didn't oil the clippers, resulting in hair pulling instead of hair cutting. Removed more hair than I had instructed him to. He didn't rinse my hair before (attempting to) style with paste. I had a massive amount of hair stuck to my scalp. Paid almost 30 dollars for piss poor rushed hair cut/pull.

When I get a haircut at other places I expect two things; 1) Stale and rehearsed conversation about the weather and my work 2) A stylist that looks so bored that they may fall asleep at any moment That was however before I met Merim. Always smiling and attentive to her clients, willing to stay late or come early to fit me into her schedule. I've never really considered having a dedicated stylist before but she's gone above and beyond for me so I'll be showing her my loyalty and sticking with her as well :)

Let me start by saying its been a VERY long time since I've had a haircut that I actually liked. Which is why I generally avoid getting my hair cut. Having naturally, thick, curly hair is something that some stylists seem to be afraid of! Today was the first time I've been into Denim and Smith and quite honestly was preparing myself to walk out again feeling disappointed. Instead I was greeted by Nadine. She was friendly and asked me about what i was looking for....and she actually listened to me. I left with a cut that I really liked and it didnt cost me a fortune. Thanks Nadine for being so great. I will definitely be coming back in the future!

Went to Cross Iron location about a month ago and it was a fantastic experience. This time though was totally different. The barber was great but the front-end staff member was absolutely brutal. Extremely rude, and couldn't take the time to get off an obvious personal call to do her job. That kind of service really makes it tough to support the barbershop who are quite good in my opinion. The staff member working today should be fired.

I just wanted to share an experience I had at this place. A month ago I went for a haircut and girl who cut my hair did an awful job. So this time I asked for a guy as I had some satisfactory experience with guys who work here. The girl at the cash register told me that I have to wait for two hours to get a guy to cut my hair. Obviously she was lying, as she did not want me to choose a guy over a girl. Terrible place. STAY AWAY.

WORST HAIR CUT EVER! Epic fail. Ask for a simple hair cut but apparently the barber failed school and can’t cut even length hair. Three different lengths on top when I ask for half inch on top. So I've been looking for a new barber for about a year now as my previous person had retired with no success. The last few haircuts I've gotten were not great so I decided to give Denim and Smith a try. I must say I am extremely happy with the results. Mike, the barber who cut my hair, nailed exactly what I was looking for. He was thorough and precise and I left the shop feeling better about my haircut than I have in a long time. I absolutely recommend this place and definitely ask for Mike. That guy is awesome!

I’ve been going to this location for a while now, and I’ve always found all the staff to be great! Very friendly and professional! The receptionist is always friendly and helpful along with the owner as well as the three barbers that I’ve dealt with in the past have always done a amazing job of my hair cut and beard and are always to the highest standards. It’s hard to find a good barber shop that has more than one barber that that you can trust to cut hair and style and cut beards, so when I found this place I was extremely impressed! I recommend this shop to a lot of people because of my previous experiences with them. I’ve had a lot of bad experiences at other shops with so called barbers that have stuffed my hair up and beard so when I found this place I was extremely happy!

I used to come here all the time to get my haircut but after today it will probably be the last time I ever visit this place! I went here today at around 7:00pm and the person at the desk( a lady with short black hair and glasses) rudely told us to sit down without giving me a chance to tell her my name. Then after I got my haircut and went to pay, she just pointed at the debit machine and mumbled at me like I was wasting her time! There was another person getting their haircut too and she was very nice to them so I kind of feel it's because of my age because I was nice to her and even gave a good tip but I still did not get treated the same way the other customer got treated! Next time I need a haircut, I will be going somewhere else where i will be treated equally and fairly!

So i do hair myself, and with covid youve gotta take proper cleaning procedures. This place does not wipe the chairs after each client, as well as your basic procedures for after the client leaves. They don't sweep the floor after the client. The one girl cuts hair super nice but the guy is kinda sloppy. The receptionist is rude. If youre looking for a mediocre cut then totally go here. But if youre looking for a professional cut i suggest elsewhere.

I've been searching far and wide to find my perfect barber. This entailed having my hair butchered multiple times by people who seemed to care about going home more than their job which they are being paid to do. When I decided to try Denim and Smith at Crossiron, they put me with Lance. Lance is hands down the best barber I had. I only needed to tell him the basics of what I wanted and he was able to create magic with the tools he has. He is a great conversationalist, a devoted family man, and a straight up hard worker. Whenever I get a cut from Lance, it is more of friends chatting with each other while he does what he does best. 10/10 would recommend Lance to everyone.

My husbands been going here for a couple years and his hair cuts have always been okay, he’s not really a picky guy. My son went for his first “big boy” hair cut and the stylist was great with him and his hair looked adorable. Today my husband got the worst hair cut of his life, he felt too awkward to go back in and complain so I’m writing this post from the parking lot of a different barbershop hoping they can at least even it out so it will grow back in okay. Seems like the place is inconsistent and their stylists aren’t equally trained, if you find someone there you like book appointments directly with them, the walk in stuff is a gamble!

I used to give this place 5 stars, however, after they have changed the management and staff, they replaced professional well-trained with untrained staff, today was the second time to ruin my hair, with two different ones of the new staff. Less than impressed with this salon. I had both my boys hair cut here. One gets a hair wash and the other doesn’t, and it wasn’t offered. One ended up with a nice cut and the other looks worse than when he went in there. I will not be back. And strange bizarre comments. I was going to pay for their haircuts and the guy asked if I wanted to pay for both?! I felt like saying no! Plenty of other, better salons out there, I plan on finding them.

Due to not going out much, we've decided to head out and get a haircut, and maybe try a new barbershop as well. So, we made a visit to Denim & Smith, greeted by a wonderful employee named Ann. I have to say, I believe this is one of our best experiences at this shop, because Ann was able to provide haircuts above our expectations, and she's the best barber/hair stylist we have encountered so far, and I'm glad we came here. Ann is fast, and efficient and we would take her services over anyone else, which shows how good she is. We're definitely going to visit Denim & Smith again, because we know that they'll deliver services that satisfy our needs greatly.

Had a cut a couple days ago from Mike. I'm super happy with the end result. normally I go to wherever and get the cheapest cut I can but I decided that day to splurge a little bit. I don't usually go to crazy with my style as I'm a shower and go type of guy but I felt Mike made sure he paid full attention to detail, even going over the entire hairline with a straight edge to make everything exactly match. once again i'm extremely satisfied with my cut and will be changing my regular haircut routine at cheap places to only coming here.

Terrible experience!! At first we thought it was great that they were able to get us in so fast, but that's also how the service was. We were not thrilled with the cut. We felt like she didn't understand what we had asked for as she kept asking the same questions over again. Eventually we just said you can do as you please. Got there at 6:20pm on victoria day, I assumed they were open till 7pm. 4 guys were playing on the foosball table, and a girl was cleaning up. They all looked at me and all of them seemed like they didnt want to be disturbed from their game. One of the guys called the girl over and she just flatly said that they were done for the day. Maybe close the doors if you're done? Will never try going back. Even for emergencies.

First & last time coming here. My bf asked for a fade and to trim off an inch of his hair. Took the guy suuuuper long the to do the fade and it only looks ok. And as for cutting the rest of his hair idk what happened but when he finished it was incredibly choppy and looked awful. He cut the hair in what felt like less than a minute! The right side on the back was still really long while the left side was short. Just really bad. I had to trim it for him when we got home because it was bad. The guy cutting his hair and his coworkers were also talking about what food to get from tim hortons while cutting his hair so maybe he was distracted. And he didnt even show my bf what the back of his head looked like after. We're probably not coming back!

I have been getting hair cut at Denim for over a year now. I love this place. It is cheaper than any other place. Even for women they have great deals. TRUST ME, it's a good deal. Really worth of checking out. Staff is very friendly and professional. All hair dressers are great but I get my hair cut from Nadine for more then a year. I love the work she does on my hair because she is so particular. She sees every little hair uneven I wouldn't even noticed. I'm a guy but I have seen amazing creations she has done with women. I tell ya. She is best of the best. On top of it, if you get to come often she may give you her personal number so you can text her right from your home to book your appointment. NO WAITING TIME!!!! Well maybe couple minutes. Try it. You will be happy.

He has a special way of cutting hair that just amazes me and he genuinely cares about his customers and he treats them like friends, not just as customers that come and go. AVOID! I was shopping with my wife and remembered there was a salon in cros iron so I called to get a price for shaving my sides only and they quoted me $10 over the phone (but they did say they'd have to see in person). I showed up and talked to the lady I had spoke to and she verified that it was $10. The shave was good and no complaints but when she finished she took the robe off and said all done and made no attempt to help me brush or blow off all the hair on me. I shave my sides to a .5 regularly and it had been about 2 weeks so the hairs were still really short and all over. I had to ask for a towel to wipe off all the little bits of hair off the sides of my head which still left me with hair all over the place while I shopped. I figured for $10 I can't expect much and tbh I wasn't even that mad about it. Here's where the big problem comes. I go to pay and the receptionist(who quoted me $10 on the phone and $10 again in person) says it'll be $18.90. I tell her she quoted me $10 and she said no I said it's $18, I tell her again that's not what she said but she was sticking to it so I paid it because it's not worth the fight. $10 and $18 don't sound anything alike and I heard it 2 separate times so it definitely wasn't my mistake. I even tipped which i feel pretty stupid about now. Im not in the industry so I don't know 100% but you would think it's standard practice to clean up a client after any type of hair cut especially being in a mall where there's a good possibility of the customer doing more things in the mall.

Service was good. The lady who cut my hairs, did her best. But, before starting she said she will need to shampoo my hairs before cutting and I was charged additionally for that later on. If you need to shampoo already shampooed and hairs without oil again, why should customer pay for that. Or better add that in hair cut charges itself.

When I’m in town for business I like go to the nearest Denim & Smith Barbershop for my haircut because it’s usually a great experience but not at this location. At other locations I’ve gotten great professional service but here I was ignored and it was like I wasn’t wanted there. When I arrived the workers were dismissive and kept talking in their own language. I was told to wait when it clearly wasn’t busy and instead of helping they went out for a break coming back smelling heavily of cigarettes. And I still had to wait longer! This place was very unprofessional when compared to other locations. I even feel like taking this up with the head office. Rude and unwelcoming workers with extremely long waiting times. The haircut was alright but I recommend visiting other locations for a better service.

so I noticed the mixed reviews and figured they must've changed if the last couple were that good. Cough fake reviews cough. the cut wasn't the worst I've ever had but I could tell my stylist was new and I had to tell her a couple times that her shaver was pulling my hair. If you're after a simple cut and already there I'd maybe suggest it but for what they charge there are way better places out there.

I rarely ever leave reviews. But just based on my experience, this place is pathetic. I got there and was told there was a 5 minute wait. I ended up waiting close to 35 -40 mins l. I could understand if there were busy. But no they weren’t and taking customers that arrived at the shop after me with no explanation. Although my business wouldn’t mean a thing but I ain’t stepping foot in this place again.
