I have been using the TBMGL for a while now, and love it! While I have very little hair these days, it is hard to find talent that does exceptional cut in lines and fades unless you are downtown. Ben - the newest barber - is simply awesome at what he does. A true perfectionist! Kim the owner is a great resource, unbelievably friendly and truly values her customers! Easily the best men's grooming lounge between Kipling and Old Mill. Great service, well maintained location and highly personable staff. Facilities are sparkling clean and the quality of hair and spa services is top tier. They also carry a house line of hair and cosmetic products for men under their own house brand that is absolutely superb. Their house shaving cream goes a long way with a little to the point where I have hardly put a dent in it after several months. If you are looking for cosmetic or spa services for men in Etobicoke, this is the place to go!

The owner (Kim) was very patient and friendly with me and took the time not only to explain what services would be offered, but also helped me figure out what amount my gift card would have to be so that I could make sure my partner got the services I thought he would like. I dropped by to pick up my card and I have to say, the interior looked fabulous (but masculine!) and extremely well kept. Great customer service and I would highly recommend if you are looking for a great gift for your guy.

This fantastic hidden gem has become my favourite place to get pampered. The Business is a modern spin on the old school barber/shave salon with the added bonus of offering aesthetic services. What makes The Business so special is that it doesn't forget that style never replaces substance and service which is lost in most venues today. The Business was started by the owner Kim as tribute to her late father who was ahead of his time in terms of style. That love and care shines through across every customer touch point. The entire staff is extremely knowledgeable and service oriented. Kim personally answers each and every phone call and takes the time to explain the catalogue of services without any pressure for you to buy. All of their grooming products are natural and high quality as they are specifically sourced from different parts of the world. Prices are surprisingly reasonable compared to similar types of venues. The first time that I went to the Business was for my birthday as part of a surprise gift. My appointment consisted of a straight edge shave (definitely recommend that if you've done it before), Swedish massage, Indian head massage, and foot treatment (another new favourite as you don't know what you're missing until you do it). To top things off, Kim presented birthday cupcakes at the end which was much appreciated. It's the personal touches like this which make this place so intimate and exceptional. The Business really makes you reminisce of the old days when businesses knew all the names of their customers by their first name and really understood the value of customer service.

First thing I noticed is how well-kempt the place is. Just by entering, you'll be greeted and offered a tea, water, or coffee. You will also be escorted to coat-check if you're new, you just wouldn't worry about a thing. The barbers are well-dressed and classy. I particularly enjoyed the shampoo part, it was so relaxing I wanted to sleep. Andrew was impressive, I got the haircut I wanted. I love the friendly and professional service, I certainly admire the ambiance of the place, and Kim's attention to details.

Getting situated for a wedding that is happening the next day can be a pressing matter, with a last minute request for Kim (owner) to fit my boyfriend in right before closing was not a problem. She was so kind and accommodated us promptly as we were in the area for a shave. The salon is masculine attracting male clientele and super clean and pristine! With good pricing, parking available all around the area and shops located throughout, it's a great experience especially if you are accompanying your beau while he gets his grooming in!

I've been here three times so far and only trust this place for my beard. I'm new to the area and was scared trying out new barbers, however, found this place to be very welcoming and friendly. Surprisingly, their prices are VERY competitive, considering the service they offer. Hot towel over your beard, head/scalp massage after haircut, and coffee upon waiting, all of it adds to the experience every gentleman deserves. Kim is a fantastic host with a very friendly and chatty vibe which makes you feel like you deserve the treatment you're paying for. Even the products are well prices. Will return many more times.

The staff was incredible! They were warm and welcoming, offered prompt service and conversation. They even took me early when I did my usual thing of being overly punctual. I had a great experience start to finish. I wasn't sure what I wanted and the staff helped with what would look best while understanding my preferences even though I had difficulty explaining that information. Most importantly I received the best overall haircut I've ever had. I went for the cut/wash and beard style and was not disappointed. I dropped by one day needing a haircut. My past stylist is always booked well in advance making drop ins almost impossible. My hair, what I have left is considerably long and quite curly. I am very particular about how it looks and feels, as I do not like to use any after products. I really liked the vibe this place has. I left my old barber yesterday in the neighbourhood as in my opinion they didn’t care about the health of their customers. The sign on the door declared only one person in the waiting room. When I got there for my Allotted time there were three Waiting in a tiny room. I went to The Business and the owner impressed upon me how seriously they take the health of their customers and staff. And they delivered as I just came back. They were strict about every health precaution. Only one person waiting in a vast shop. I had to wash my hands. Everything was done with health in mind including disinfecting the credit card terminal after each use. Who does that? Count me as a regular customer. And yes the cut was amazing! George

I got to the barbershop and the barber was nice. He cuts me 3 times and says it was because of a pimple. 3 distinct cuts don't happen because of pimples, I didn't even have a pimple (i only found out they were actual cuts when I got home). Although the barber did not do what i had asked, the haircut was nice. - this second comment is after the response of the owner. I never said I would be back, I did not book anything on any website I called in advance. Price was not the full issue as I mentioned, it was only half of it, and after editing my review I made sure not to include any pricing. Finally, clearly the barber did not know what he was referring to as the cuts are on the side of my head, not my neck.

I went to this place based on its reviews. The customer service was on par with the reviews you read here. Kim was great - very welcoming and thorough. I give this place 3 stars because the barber did not give me the cut I asked for. I wanted to keep the length of my hair and told the barber quote, "i'm growing my hair out, I just want the tips trimmed and shaped." He unfortunately ended up cutting WAAAY more off and made it short. As one can imagine, i was devastated as I have been growing my hair out for the past 5 months.

They called me after I sent a message through their website. Got in within the hour and Cristina gave me a haircut and beard trim. She was great at what she did, and was personable as well. First thing I noticed was this is a full service shop for men, from hand massages and face masks to regular beard trims and shaves. It’s close to the Royal York line so it’s super accessible. I’ll look to try out their other services on my next appointment. A little pricey but if you’re looking for upscale service or need to clean yourself up before an event, then I highly recommend.

I came in for a pedicure, which is something I’ve never done before. I don’t have anything else to compare it to of course, but still I think Maria did an amazing job... and, the best thing too is their pedicure station is located at the back of the shop and separated off, all very private — that was really nice. As a guy I was feeling self-conscious about doing this, and the last thing I would want to do is be on display having a pedicure done in the middle of some salon! I’ve been coming here for my beard trim and haircut for years, and it’s gotten to the point that I won’t go anywhere else. The service is exceptional and Csaba’s craftsmanship with clippers and scissors is unmatched. I couldn’t recommend this place enough! They sell fantastic hair and beard products too. I personally swear by their “Urban beard” Beard Butter, as it gives a cooling menthol sensation to your skin and keeps your beard moulded and in place. They also offer spa and massage services geared towards Men’s health and although I have yet to try their services, I will be booking my pedicure and massage very soon. Keep up the great work!

Let me first clarify that I am not Ronit Nitkin, this is my wife's profile, and I couldn't be bothered to sign myself up. Now that that's out of the way, my name is Eric, and I went to see Kim to discuss stepping up my shave game to a safety razor. Up until now, I was Gillette's best customer, having tried every razor marketed since the Sensor. Every time they added a blade or another new trick it was out with the old and in with the new. I also use a very high quality Panasonic electric shaver when I don't have the time or don't feel like going through all the steps necessary for a good result with a razor. The best part of shopping with Kim is not having to do much research or make many choices in deciding what to buy. She has combed the marketplace and only brings in the best. This works for me because faced with too many decisions, I end up buying something then regretting it later as I continue searching to make sure I made the right choice in the first place. I finally used up my last Gillette Fusion ProGlide Power cartridge (yes, with the FlexBall) and headed to see Kim to pick up the safety razor she recommended on my first visit there. No choices to make, just the one chrome handled Merkur of Germany razor that she carries. I also picked up a shaving mug, which is where you drop the cream and whip it up into the perfect froth. Nice and simple. I talked to her barber to get some tips and then Kim gave me a link to a fantastic how to shave with a safety razor video tutorial. I didn't need anything else for now, as I have an Art of Shaving sample kit at home which came with a pre shave oil, some shave cream, a small badger hair brush and some post shave balm. Before I get carried away discussing the results of my first safety razor shave, let me just say what a pleasure Kim is to deal with. Friendly, super knowledgeable, professional. She just GETS it. No BS, no fluff, no real pitch either. Dealing with her doesn't feel like a sales transaction. It was a conversation that just happened to end with me deciding I needed to try this old school method of dealing with my face. So, how was the shave? The process? The end result? Fantastic! Easier than I thought, and the smoothest, most bump and irritation-free skin I have ever ended up with! I won't bore you with all the details except to say that I followed every step in the tutorial Kim advised me to watch, and the whole thing took about 15 min from start to finish, which included my head, face and neck. I wish my beard grew faster because I can't wait to shave again! Guys, stop killing your faces with poor quality disposable razors, and stop buying into the more blades is better marketing. You don't need a lubricating strip or a pivoting flexball head. One super sharp blade, an easy to follow process combined with the right oils and creams and an alcohol free post shave balm is all it takes to have the best shave of your life. Who doesn't have 15 minutes to spoil themselves and end up with the smoothest best looking face ever? Thank you, Kim for opening my eyes and saving my face from the marketing juggernaut of men's facial care!

Very nice quiet,relaxed environment. It is advised to book an appointment. I have visited 3 times now for a hair cut and a beard trim. Karen took care of me for my first 2 visits. She was very careful and took her time. She was very gentle while working with my beard which was appreciated. The 2nd visit i got a hair cut as well and recieved a scalp massage after the hair cut while she washed my hair which left me feeling very relaxed. She also helped me find a suitable hair style for the cut that matched with the beard. Gel and beard oil were applied after washing which was very refreshing an smelt very good. Both times I left feeling amazing with a new look. My third visit Ania did a hair cut and beard trim. She helped give shape to my beard as i had let it grow wild and she also thinned my hair out as my hair can get poofy. She added her own input which turned out wonderfully. Again I recieved a nice scalp massage while she washed my hair. They do sell beard oil here which was beneficial as I got a sample after the wash and I ended up buying it. The beard trim with Ania was better but I did have a better idea of what I wanted to accomplish where as with Karen I had no idea what I wanted. I definitely recommend getting your hair/beard trim done here. The business is aimed at men and they do a great job making sure you look good when you leave unlike first choice or other "brand name barbers" where they do not pay much attention to cutting mens hair and you have to do trimming once you get home.

My barber was closed (it was Sunday) and this was one of the few places open. It had a high rating so I tried it. No complaints about the haircut, and the people were pleasant. But the charge--$55 with tip--is triple what a perfect haircut costs at my regular barber. I can't recommend this shop on a cost/benefit basis unless it's Sunday and you're out of options.

After all my different barbers closed their shops I was always scrambling to find a person capable of cutting my hair exactly the way it needed to be cut. I even gave places that had potential 2-3 tries. But after 6 years of bouncing around I am finally able to call The Business my one stop grooming experience. I make an appointment with Kim and she does everything possible to fit me into the schedule. The appointments overlap with very minimal time in between clients opposed to other places that say “just come on in” and then you wait 15-20 minutes. The precision to detail with the barber/hairstylists and the owner with the environment is bang on. The classy ambience, welcoming attitude, and the capability of actually cutting a man’s hair properly makes The Business the best place to go.

First of all I'd like to say that both my girlfriend and I were not giving instructions and what happened is that I told Brian to ask her how she was the haircut. My girlfriend showed Brian a picture of how she wanted the haircut to be. Secondly it is the barbers job to make sure that the hair cut is done properly and not to make sure that the hairs in some places are not longer than other such as over the ears and behind the head. From the quick view in the mirror it appears everything was okay but like I stated before I didn't realize until I got home. Being in the service industry for over 10 years, I tip regardless if the service is good or not so me leaving a tip has nothing to do with anything. Lastly I noticed WHEN I GOT HOME that the one side of my beard was different than the other and at this point nothing can be done but let it grow out again. Any place I have received a haircut and lineup from the Barber always makes sure at the end that everything is good to go as the client might not be able to always see at the time being. I'm glad as the owner that instead of contacting me to further inquire what happened you posted a reponse saying that what I'm saying is puzzling and that me leaving a tip justifys a good haircut

The Business: Men's Grooming Lounge, has only been open a short amount of time but has already proven that it provides some of the best haircuts in all of Toronto. The first time that I had the pleasure of getting my hair cut at The Business it became immediately apparent to me that overall service being provided is miles ahead of their competitors. The Business sets the bar in every aspect, for what the best hair cutting business should strive to be like. Kim and her highly qualified and trained staff allow customers the service of receiving a superior haircut in a relaxing atmosphere while at the same time providing excellent customer relations. My most recent experience at the business was just as stellar as usual. I got my hair cut by my personal favourite hair stylist Alan, who is a friendly conversationalist and is truly skilled in the art of hair cutting and straight edge razor shaves. After my hair cut I was shown some of the specialty items that The Business sells, and was told in specific detail by Kim, how each item that they sold was the best of the best (that being said, not necessarily the most expensive in the market). I then proceeded to pay and talk to Kim a bit about my family and how work has been recently. The Business has shown me consistently exception service and I plan on continue going there for all my hair cuts in the future. I congratulate Kim on running such a successful new company and wish her the best of luck in the future.

My first time to visit this barber shop. I came in with 4 months worth of hair growth thanks to Covid 19. I showed the barber Csaba some pictures of what my hair should look like and he nailed it. I made an appointment for my 12 year old son to have a facial. I was most concerned about the blackheads which had recently popped up around his nose. The 'acne facial' was recommended and it was a great success. We were met by Maria who was kind enough to let me sit in on the treatment; He was a little nervous. The process was gentle but thorough. She recommended a few products but there was no pressure to purchase. The facial was well worth the expense. The establishment is very clean and everyone is very nice and welcoming. The business caters exclusively to a male clientele so it was easy to talk a 12 year old boy into meeting with an aesthetician. This business is a super addition to the neighbourhood and I will definitely bring him back.

The Good: Staff is friendly and the services offered are great. The scalp massage is a great add on offered as well. The barbers seem experienced with hair design and cutting. The Bad : I went in for a straight blade shave - first time having it done here. The process was great - the thought was there, but the final product wasnt really that good - I've done better jobs myself. When I come in for a straight blade I expect to be paying for a close and smooth shave that I cant do at home. Again their process was good, but I think he needs more experience on that close shave - I could still feel stubble afterwards - not really what you want after a straight blade.

Today I had the manicure and the pedicure. The experience was great, probably one of the best manicure/pedicure experiences I have had. Maria was kind and gentle with my sensitive feet. HA!HA! QUESTION: From your website I got the impression that I would save $15.00 with the combination of manicure ($35.00) + pedicure ($60.00) = $95.00 - $15.09 = $80.00. I was charged (and paid) $90.00. Not impressed with the receptionist.... In which I believe was also the owner. She did not appear to be welcoming of all populations as she continued to specify she only serves a specific demographic. Which is definitely not a comment you should be making if you care about your business. Being inclusive would be something to consider. I got their card to make an appt for my partner but because of the comment made and the unwelcoming approach I received we do not have an interest in your services. No false information all very accurate. Try to not sugar coat what actually occurred. Thanks for your two cents though.
