After doing some research for barbershops in the Etobicoke area, I stumbled upon Grease Monkey and saw that they had really great reviews. I booked an appointment the night before for my boyfriend and we arrived a few minutes early; Jesse saw him as soon as our appointment time came up. Jesse was not only really professional but also really friendly and gave a great cut. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing experience in the Etobicoke area. Great cut, fast hands and amazing atmosphere.

Tried this shop based on the great reviews online. But sadly I was very disappointed with my cut. Told him I wanted to keep the length, he cut off way more than he should have and his freehand fade was horrible. Maybe he is only good at fades using an electric razor. Also he doesn’t follow any COVID-19 protocols. Told me I could remove my mask as soon as I walked in, and didn’t wear one himself. I wonder what other health regulations he doesn’t bother following. His shop was cool looking. Maybe the anti vaccine crowd will rally behind him. I won’t ever go back.

Jesse seems to have just the right combination of technical skills, business acumen, and people skills. A triple threat! He knows his craft well and cares about giving his customers a great result and a great experience. In the short time I've known him he's shown to be extremely good at what he does and very open and accommodating (to the right customers of course). And one last thing (after seeing how a couple of customers have chosen to behave and comment on here): Jesse takes extreme pride in his work and his shop. Customers (especially new ones) need to let him do his magic and communicate with him properly before and after the session. If by the (very) unlikely chance you want him to change or fix something, simply open your mouth and tell him in person! Don't hide behind your keyboard and write a negative comment here before giving him a chance to address it face-to-face. That's what "real" men do!

Jesse is a pro, and you can see he loves what he does. He's efficient but doesn't rush you. The shop also shows his other love...cars. Honestly, it's something you've never seen before! So glad I found the shop, as I now don't need to hike into the city to get my regular cut.

I wandered into Grease Monkey Barber Shop out of complete desperation. I had recently received a haircut, from another local shop. To put it lightly, my haircut was butchered, and I was dreading starting the work week with the crow's nest situated atop my head. In a mild panic, on a Sunday morning, I called over to Grease Monkey. After speaking with Jesse for 2 minutes I made my way over to shop. Since the shop is walk in only, I was able to receive service promptly, I was in the chair within 20 minutes of my arrival. Immediately, I was taken back with how quickly, and proficiently Jesse is able to work. Though fast, Jesse is incredibly thorough, churning out one happy customer after the next. Sitting in the barber chair, Jesse could sense my discomfort. Jesse quickly got to work, ensuring me "it was nothing he couldn't fix". After a quick 10 minute touch up, I was trimmed, sleek, and styled. I left the shop as happy as a pig in squalor, with confidence re-instilled. Beyond the hair cut, the shop itself is clean, comfortable, and uniquely decorated. Jesse is a prideful proprietor, showing expertise in both outstanding men's cuts, as well as customer service. But why is there a review three weeks ago applauding a great job he did on a five year old boy; that he's been cutting for three years? Beware, apparently they don't cut hair for kids here.

There are some barber shops that just sort of cut your hair and send you on your way, but Jesse is not like those guys. He's actively talking about your hair, showing you how to style it, guiding you towards a good haircut for your face. Dom did a great job doing my hair though my appointment was with Jesse. Bald fade was in point with a seamless transition from bottom to top. The cut itself was five stars. My only issue is I was charged $40 and not $30 as advertised on their website. I gave him $50 at the registered because I believe in tipping those in the service industry. However, thinking about it on my way home I checked their website again and it’s $30 not $40. I shouldn’t have to pay anymore or any less than the advertised price anywhere. I didn’t even get the razor line up or the brow trim. I won’t be returning
