Super super nice guys and a cool / welcoming shop. My review is strictly based on my personal experience. I was charged $30 for a line up (no hair cut, no beard trim) from an apprentice. He was a great guy and extremely polite, but he struggled pretty hard and I can’t help but feel like that is extremely overpriced. I don’t even have much of a “beard,” and the barber was brand new (despite being told that he was the beard professional). Most shops charge less when you’re sitting with an apprentice. 30 bucks for a lineup is steep even if you’re with a pro.

My experience was different from these reviews. Here are the facts: I booked the time for a full hair cut. I was in and out in 11 minutes. Within those 11 minutes, I got lectured on the owner’s family history, meaning of life, importance of family and moral, kids etc. meanwhile received one of the laziest haircuts of my recent years. After he said it is done I asked him to cut the top shorter and he cut 3 more spots and said I am all set. There was another customer there (maybe double booked?). I paid $30 and left. Will not go back in there.

Trying out a new barber can be a nerve wrecking experience. When I first came to Distinguished Gents I was greeted by the owner Frankie right as I walked in. The environment was very welcoming and the barbershop is aesthetically pleasing - it was clean, very well styled and smelled of vintage goodness. When it was time for my cut Frankie was very attentive to my specific requests in terms of the cut I wanted. He paid great attention to detail and I was very satisfied with his skill at cutting and styling hair. Hands down the most skilled barber I've dealt with in the city. No matter how complex the cut, this guy can get the job done and exceed expectations. 5 stars, very well deserved. If you're hesitatant to try a new barber fear not, Distinguished Gents is the right choice.

This place was highly recommended by a buddy, went to get a haircut ( bald fade) not too many can do this haircut without messing up. I had a guy by the name of Dom cut my hair and he did an amazing job. Most definitely will be going back, the atmosphere was almost like being @ home. Two thumbs up ????????

BEWARE - rush cut, moody/unprofessional and overpriced alert. I have only been here once and was extremely disappointed with my hair cut. It wasn't the owner who cut my hair, some young kid who didn't know what he was doing. Considering I paid over $30 it must have been one of the worst hair cuts I've ever had. I had to finish it off myself at home. What ever happened to the days when barbers would have their licenses posted on the walls? You don't see that at these newschool hipster barbershops that overcharge for their services. It makes me wonder what kind of qualifications that have.

Came to check it out and was disappointed. The place has a spiffy vintage feel and seems popular, though they booked me in within the hour in the daytime. I walk in and an MMA pre-fight show is blaring on two TVs. My barber is clearly well-trained but is constantly getting distracted by the TV. Plus it's too loud in there to even tell him what I want, let alone have any chit-chat. The show ends, they turn off the TV, now the music comes on, again loud and obnoxious. A scissors salesman walks in and my barber gets distracted again. The cut took 45 minutes and the one side came out longer by 1/4 of an inch. Poor value for the price, and a lousy experience. A $15 cut in Little Italy is comparable, and there you get a piece of authentic culture. Will not return, even though I live 150 feet away.

100% the absolute worst barbershop I have ever been to. Frankie (The Owner) was rude, moody, and arrogant. Believe me when I say, I have never met anybody so unprofessional in my entire life. My haircut was rushed, didn't get a wash and not even a styling of my hair. On top of that i didn't get what I asked for and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. No conversation, no smile, absolutely nothing. Now I understand why this place is always dead. I don't know how somebody can be a business owner like that. I had to go down the street to another barbershop to get my haircut fixed. Many friends of mine have told me when I am in the area to check out "Distinguished Gents", but failed to tell me until after I explained my terrible experience to them that their best barbers have since been fired and its only Frankie himself now. I feel bad for any new client that comes here. I could go on and on about how terrible of an experience I had. I would have rather flushed my cash down the drain than pay for the awful service and haircut i got. PLEASE LISTEN TO ME WHEN I SAY DO NOT COME HERE.
