This is absolutely the place to go for your hair cuts. I look forward every two weeks to get my cut. The C&F team are all incredibly talented when it comes to cutting mens hair. I go there because I feel like a million bucks every time I leave. Plus its amazing to see how warm and welcoming they are to my family. Every barber here knows how to develop a connection with their customer and ensures the entire experience of getting a cut is incredible. Cant recommend enough!

I'll start with the pros: - The barbershop is very clean - No wait lines (appointment only system) - Online booking is easy, fast and rescheduling is effortless Since going to this shop, Mike has been my barber, so this review is based solely on my experience with him. Since my first cut to my last, Mike has been rude and distracted in conversation on his hands-free phone calls. He shows no genuine interest in his customer's cut nor any respect for their time. During my last cut, of the 20 minutes spent in the chair, he spent all of the time arguing with a telecom provider about his phone bill. Half of the time spent in the chair, he was not actually cutting my hair. He did not exchange more than 5 words with me as he was too focused on his phone call. This is a normal occurrence with him. Especially as a customer who is unable to see during the cut (as I require glasses for most situations), his attitude gives my very little confidence in the quality of work and leaves me to inspect in detail after he's done. The concept of "The customer is always right" is completely out of his reach and shows little compassion towards his customers. On instances Mike has yelled at customers who show any dissatisfaction or ask for minor adjustments during or after the cut. On one instance, after receiving a fade, I asked Mike to round the top of my hair (as to not have a boxy look), and he immediately flared up, demanding that I "make an appointment for a full cut if I'm going to take up any more of his time". The additional work took no less than a minute. While Mike is working (on the few instances he is not on the phone or joking with other barbers), I allow Mike to cut my hair with no distractions or micromanagement of my cut. He is rude and extremely hypocritical. While I recognize Mike's ability to cut, Mike is self-interested and his attitude is appalling. I have given this barber too many opportunities and will not be returning to this shop.

Mike is a very talented barber and he fades my hair / lines up my beard perfectly and symmetrically every time. Before chaps and fades I knew noting about hair cuts, hair styles not even hair products. This is an amazing shop with great barbers and when they play music is very difficult to stay still. I read a lot of bad comments about this place but honestly they all wrong, don’t believe everything you read online, come and check it for yourself and get your own opinion about this barbershop

For years I have been looking for a good barbershop to take my son to regularly and have not found one. I couldn’t find any other barbershop that was open near me today, so I thought I’d try Chaps and Fades. As soon as I walked in I was impressed. It’s very clean and organized. Out of all the barbers that have cut my son’s hair, Manuel did a great job. My son was very satisfied with his haircut. I was also happy with his haircut. It’s expensive compared to other places I have been to, but it was worth it. It’s too bad I’m moving soon and wont be returning. If you don’t mind paying a little extra for your haircut, I definitely recommend this place.

My husband has been here twice. First time, he came back home and I saw that there was a noticeable nick on his fade...I don’t even think they tried to fix it. He just went in today and came back home, went straight to the washroom to fix his hair again. Not something you want to do after just getting what was supposed to be a “fresh fade”. Better to go across the street where these barbers have experience & skills! The only reason he went in today was because the shop across the street had no availability. Don’t want him to waste our money at Chaps & Fades anymore...

Atmosphere was nice and clean. I was disappointed with my hair cut. As it was my first time at this barber shop I ask Joe to do the simplest hair cut, a # one fade from the bottom to the top of the parted hair line. I did not want him to touch my long hair. He messed up my parted line by going in to my long hair on two different spots. I would not recommend this place to anyone who want a good hair cut.

Moving to the Etobicoke area this past march I was in need of a barber within the area. Luckily I came by Yoge who is a master at his craft. I work within the public domain, each time I get a cut from Yoge co workers, ladies(lots of them), friends on social media are all complimenting me with high praises appreciating the cut and fade provided by Yoge. Booked an appointment for 12pm turned up 10mins before and was waiting for the previous appointment to be done. Was done at 5 to 12 and then took some other guy at 12pm. I inquired with the receptionist and she said sorry he was running late and I had to wait ! I walked out since I have a flight to catch and what’s the point of getting an appointment if I was going to be completely ignored. Plus how late was the previous running late by of the appointment before him was already done on time? Completely wasted my day and I have no time to get haircut from another place. Extremely poor service and no one had the decency to let me know I’ll have to wait until I walked up to the receptionist.

I've had some good cuts and some not so good cuts from here. Was scheduled for a 6pm Appt but wasn't seen until 630. The line up was great, however not what I sas expecting. Was told I need to tell the barber what I need vs asking what I would like done. Mike did help out at the end. I'll give it another chance however I was not very happy leaving today. Been going to this place for a couple years now and have never had a bad experience. All the staff give amazing cuts, and the atmosphere and energy is always on point when you walk in. They handled the covid protocols well by adjusting their shop setup accordingly to accommodate for physical distancing and safety for all the customers. For those still struggling to find the best hair salon and best haircut experience in the west end and probably in the city, Chaps and Fades is the answer. Staff are very accommodating and very kind. Booking appointment is very convenient.. you can book online and find the best time that suits any busy schedule. No waiting or delays if you are booked and again staff members are extremely professional. I am extremely happy i finally find such experienced and caring hair dressers. Sebastian was my dresser, he is excellent barber and very good listener. He doesn’t rush even in a busy weekend. Simply Chaps and Fades is extremely good. Thumbs up!!!

I was reluctant to post a review; however, I felt that it was necessary. I visited Chaps and Fades a few weeks ago. A relative recommended that I visit and told me specifically to see Markus. It was my first time visiting the barbershop and I was attending my birthday dinner that evening so I was in good spirits. I was called to the chair and that's where it all began. Markus appeared to have a nonchalant, lackadaisical demeanor and attitude. I proceeded to introduce myself and I let him know that it was my first visit to the barbershop. At first he didn't seem to care, which was fine. I thought to myself, perhaps he is not much for conversation. I must say that later on he asked me a few questions. I then told him how I wanted my haircut; however, it appeared that he wanted to style my hair the way he sought fit which was frustrating. I had long hair and I just wanted a lineup on my hair and beard and to cut the back a bit. I wanted him to make it look neat and clean. Everytime I told him what to do with my hair, he had a rebuttal. As he began to cut my hair, I realized that he cut too much from the back. At that moment, I realized that I made a terrible mistake by having Markus cut my hair. At that point, I had no choice but to let him finish. He even wanted to put a part in my hair. I understand that that type of style may be the latest trend; however, I liked my hair the way it was. It took me over 6 months to grow my hair. As Markus was about to finish the hair I had to remind him to trim and lineup my beard. It was untouched throughout the entire hair cut. I was shocked that a barber would let a customer out of the chair that way. It was a clear indication of his lackadaisical attitude and poor attention to detail which is vital when cutting hair. It's the holiday season and my hair is ruined. My one year wedding anniversary is on NYE and I do not want to take photos. Now I have to wait months for my hair to regrow. Overall, my first experience here was terrible and disheartening. As a first time customer, I thought that Markus would go above and beyond especially after I told him that I am a first time customer and that I am looking for a new barber. I wish Markus and the good people at Chaps and Fades all the best but I will never return nor would I ever recommend this barbershop. Takeaway from all this: listen to your customers and be professional. A nonchalant and lackadaisical demeanor and attitude gives the impression that you do not care.

Great cuts, great service and great staff. Never have to wait as they are appointment only and are always on time. The online appointment system is super convenient... it allows you to book, resched/cancel, and sends you reminders about your appointments. The shop is very clean and modern and is getting better with every visit. Prices are very competitive compared to other shops on The Queensway and the fact that they have almost every sport on multiple TVs (including EPL) makes it hard for me to go anywhere else. I am never dissatisfied with my cut/shave with Mike and would recommend this shop to my friends/family, and anyone reading this !

Tre has the tendency to commit very unethical business practices and needs to compensate for his inability to properly barber by bashing other barber shops. One thing he doesn't realize is that there are people far more sophisticated on the web than he, and that fake accounts can be traced back to their creators. You know what you did Tre. You did a classic bait and switch cut on me and I had to go to another barber to get it fixed. We had a laugh at your work. Sound familiar? Hopefully you can fix what you've done and we can all move along.

I have been to many barber shops in my time, it can be a nerve wracking experience letting someone you're not used to cut your hair. it is refreshing to see that you are in the best possible hands and everything is being done to make you feel comfortable. My experience at the shop is exceptional and consistent. Mike is extremely talented at his craft and his calm demeanour will ease your nerves on the initial appointment. Came here for the first time & got my son a hair cut for picture day at school. When it comes to kids, not a lot of barbers want to deal with them. This is because they make less money with a kid vs an adult hair cut & the typical thought of kids sitting still for a hair cut is not typical. We got Juan, who was incredibly patient & detail oriented. He was able to give my son his cut in under 25mins, my son felt comfortable with him & it was the best cut we've seen on him so far (BONUS: it was cut in a way that his hair grew back while still looking good (prepped the lengths based on what we told Juan) -Free parking behind the building -Very Clean -Tons of space (Barber Chairs & waiting/seating space) -2 TVs to help pass the time. -Cash, Credit or Debit -Appointments are preferred but walk ins are still accepted (might have to wait though) -prices are a tiny bit higher than my usual barber shops $25 KIDS which is $5 more (but it was definitely worth it for my son) Keep up the good work. We'll be back

It's not fair when someone leaves a one star to this shop when they weren't at fault and tried to fix another barber shops problem. I walk into this shop for the 2nd time in 2 years and overhear Joe say to his current customer "your barber left uneven lines and patches." Joe was instructed not to touch anything above the fade. Everything seemed fine and the customer left looking satisfied. While Joe was cutting my hair, Mike was on the phone with the previous customers wife, accusing Joe of a patch above the fade line. Mike tried to make her satisfied and find a solution, while she angrily said she'd leave a one star and post pictures on social media and hung up the phone. Oh the fade was 10/10 btw.

Very, very clean barber shop. I like that they have an appointment system in place so I don't end up waiting. Mike is super professional and is highly skilled. Always satisfied with the haircut. They also have free parking. Highly recommended.

These days it seems everyone wants to be a barber and can cut hair but not everyone is meant or built to be a barber...I will explain. I went in to see Markus and explained to him numerous times how I simply want a “drop fade” I even pointed at my hair specifically where I wanted it faded precisely. Into the cut I noticed he started fading my hair in a way I’ve never had ever!! this irritated me because once he started It’s to late. I understand thinking you know what’s best for someone but maybe you should focus on just giving what your client wants so they would feel happy about what they’re walking out of the store with. Also it’s good as a barber to focus on your clients hair and not everything else around you. Please barbers pay attention to detail and listen to your clients or you won’t last!

Chaps and Fades is the true definition of your modern barber shop ... modern decor, online bookings, multiple tv screens showing different programs, wifi, complimentary water bottles, hot towel service, and great discussions. Always a pleasant experience. I usually get my cut from Lenny. Quiet dude, takes his time cutting your hair. I have been cutting my hair from him for awhile and I am never disappointed. I was 5 minutes from the shop, called and asked if I could do a walk in. They said no you have to book online, so I booked and showed up 2 minutes outside their 'acceptable' window because there was construction all around the area and crazy traffic. Mike said I was too late and that he was eating (shop was empty) so I would have to wait for him to finish eating. I couldn't sit and watch him eat for half an hour because I had a meeting to get to so he said my appointment was void and the $35 I was forced to pay online gone. I came back two hours later and he was still free, but was told id have to make another booking which he would 'offer' at 50% off. I have no intentions in giving more money voluntarily to a business that has already stole from me once. You can say what you want about policies and your computer system but this isn't NASA it's a barber shop. The shop was empty.. he just didn't want to work for the money. So they stole $35 from me, decide what you want but I personally had a terrible experience lol

Just before the holidays I walked in as a first time customer as I was looking for a new spot. Not only was the vibe in the shop uncomfortable, I actually felt like I was bothering my barber by being there. He was not friendly at all and hardly spoke to me. He then proceeded to give me quite honestly the worst haircut I've ever had in my life. I was actually stunned when he told me it was done and almost laughing when I paid full price for this cut. Looking back, I can't believe I paid for it. The only positive I got from this experience was after the fact showing friends and family over Christmas a picture of my hair I took as I left the shop. They all thought it was hilarious. I wore a hat over Christmas break.

Not impressed. The prices are ridiculously high. The whole booking appointments concept really over complicates what ended up being a mediocre haircut. Many much better and more convient and affordable options to choose from in the west end. Half the price of this place for a better cut and shave anywhere along st.clair or eglington. Definitely pass on this place.

Overall a clean place and wether it is by appointment or walk in they will take care of you if they can. However there is room for progress from attention to detail beard and hear wise to little customer service things such as apoligizing if you take breaks to answer your phone call more then 2 or 3 times during a cut and just get on and off the phone multiple times. But every barber ive had there knows what they are doing. I recommend this barber shop.
