The one time I went to this place resulted in a cut that took a year plus to grow out. I am used to a high end cut from another place but had a "hair emergency" ~ I asked for a trim following the excellent cut I had had a month ago elsewhere. Not a difficult task to follow a recent cut but it was fumbled and that was it. When I asked for a minor change too much was snipped so I did not ask for more. I knew more snipping would follow and my once long hair would be a brushcut. Never returned. I figured that is what I got for going to an obviously inferior establishment where you were not even offered a glass of water. I did not even want to give them this single star to be honest.

I went in there an hour before they close, they had two hair dressers working, one was finishing up another customer and there was nobody else waiting........I asked for two kids cuts and the hair dresser working told us they only have time to do one........ an hour before they close 2 kids 2 hair dressers and one customer finishing up and an hour is not enough time........... won’t waist MY TIME or money going there again!

Worst hair experience ever.....The hairdresser "Laverna" cut my hair ....I was trying to grow out a side-cut and she shaved my hair.....after I had been growing it out she screwed up my hair and then tried to fix it by shaving it off....came home crying....went back for the manager to fix it but he hardly did anything and all he did was tell me how bad she felt when she cut my hair as she didn't even charge me for it as she knew she did a horrible job.....she wouldn't even look at me when I went to go back to get it fixed....she was rude rude rude the whole time she cut my hair...rushing me out of the chair because she said she had another client...she had no time to fix my hair....did not even attempt to style it....oh and was initially late for the app't....and when i complained all i heard abt was how great she was and no one had ever complained about her before...blah blah blah....I really don't need to hear that.....Its been over a month now and my hair is still horrible....now I have to grow it all out again .....never ever go to this place.......you have been warned....snotty hairdressers and worst service ever and no skills whatsoever....a real shame....1st time in my life I never paid for a cut...even they didn't want me to pay...just wanted to shove me out the door with my hair all ugly and me looking miserable.Don't Go!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friendly and well-trained staff, have never had a long wait, and reasonable prices. Free shampoo/wash service as well. Usually good deals on a variety of products too. Have been to a few Island Haircutting locations around Greater Victoria, and this has been consistently my favourite.

Went in yesterday. Got a great hair cut. Nice and quite. Didn’t realize they don’t accepts cards of any type. So had to run out and grab some cash. Sense of trust there Best haircut I’ve gotten in a long time. I’ll go every month now

The staff are incredibly friendly, and are all great to converse with if you like to talk during a hair cut. The prices are more than reasonable and product selection is good. The only thing to complain about is the wait times, but that is beyond their control if the wait times get crazy. This is the only place I get my hair cut and would 100% recommend them!

Always had a positive experience here with the folks who cut my hair. Willing to make changes when asked and very friendly. Better cut than the last high end place I paid a fortune to. More expensive doesn't always mean better.

I have been going to Calita for years to get my hair cut and she cuts my hair probably better than almost anyone I have ever gone to. It can be a challenge to cut curly hair and Calita is very good at her job. I would not hesitate to recommend her!

Normally my experience in this store has been good but, today was a game changer. I will no longer go to this sore and no longer take my children there. The staff change far too often, as do the prices and I find the current manager too unprofessional to be running the whole store. Good luck in keeping your clientele and wish me luck in moving on to bigger and better hairdressers. Too bad it came to this but, I like stores that respect their customers.

I had hair about 3 inches in length around my whole head and wanted to be able to style the top. When I went in, I asked for short back and sides and didn't say anything about the top, as those are pretty straightforward instructions. Not straightforward enough I guess, as after he's done buzzing my sides, starts going to town on the top with a pair of scissors, leaving less than half the original length. I left feeling naked and crying on the inside. This is the first time i have been completely disappointed by this establishment and it's safe to say I won't be coming back.

I like it a lot as you can walk in, it's affordable with gender neutral prices. Spencer is my go to guy there. His customer service is wonderful and I am so happy with the results!
