I went here because they used to be my go to barber when I used to go to Montgomery College. Unfortunately I received one of the worst haircuts of my life there this past week. My brother and I had booked appointments before hand and had to wait for an hour and a half.. I asked for a fade and was shown a reference picture of what my haircut would look like. When the barber finished she quickly rushed me out of the Chair to attend other customers while I looked at the disaster that had been left on my head. I was nearly bald on the sides and on the back of my head with a little spot of hair at the top. I am a student and now have to hide my head under a hat for the next few weeks. My younger brother had a bunch of hair left on the top when the barber finished but Fortunately we were able to tell her to cut it off. But still his hair had patches on it and looked terrible. To top it all off when we were going to pay she told us we couldn't use our credit card even though it clearly showed a picture of visa and Mastercard on the door. I will never return here ever again and I hope they can live with the shame they put their customers through.

There is nothing better than being serviced by a hair dresser/barber who has a passion for his/her job. I had my first hair cut at this barber shop a week ago, and will now make it a routine return. My wonderfully pleasant brief service ended with a purification with a hot towel, straight razor and a relaxed massage. The service was friendly and all family members eager to greet walk-in's with no waiting. I felt like a king briefly.

I never write a review but I’m sorry I have to do it, I came 4 times and my son once and my husband also once, they did a very bad job to my husband and my son not coming anymore, today I when and I told Tina I want it like last time but she ended up doing whatever she wants she said I need a stylist ???? I said I just want it square and shorth is easy for me , not she didt care and my hair looks horrible, I paid and tip her because I’m a good customer, I’m sorry Tina you lost a client no more Family Barbershop for me ???????? Bye, Bye .

While Tina did a pretty good job cutting my hair, she was very unprofessional. When I came in the door she didn't greet me, and sounded very annoyed when it was my turn to get a cut. She was on her phone half the time giggling about who knows what, and when I tried to compliment her by saying it looked good, she said "of course" arrogantly. Also, she was coughing so profusely that she had to stop and take a break in the corner of the shop. Her mask wasn't even a real mask and was worn below her nose. I don't care how good you are at cutting hair; if you are not practicing professionalism and don't treat your customers with respect, you shouldn't be working.

Called for an appointment and Tina was able to accommodate me right away. All I needed was a simple trim and she delivered with professionalism and skill - plus the cost was more than 1/2 of what a salon would have charged, especially since I have long hair. She was pleasant without being over talkative due to COVID-19 concerns. Will be back for my next trim!

This barber shop is very new and I just so happened to stop by in after getting some thai ice cream next door. I would highly recommend this place. Although very new, the shop is very clean and the quality of the cut was right up there with my regular stylist. I typically spend 30 dollars on a haircut but I got this one for 10 dollars (Plus Tip). This spot is right next to rockville town center, which is fairly convenient if you want to mozzy down there and get a drink. Highly recommend.

I recently moved to the area and was in search of a new barber. After looking at my options, I chose this one. Tina was very nice and took her time with my haircut. It was the best haircut I have had in a longtime. The thing that impressed me most was the quality of the clippers. They were much nicer than the ones used at the local chains. It was a very good price for a mens haircut, especially a good men's haircut!

If you want a cheap mediocre haircut come here. The barbers cut corners and try to get you in and out as fast as possible—what else can you expect for the cheap price? Additionally, don’t expect to receive the same styles as in the posters they have in the shop. You’ll end up with a cheap knock off and it’s hardly worth your breath explaining again. Pro’s: Cheap, Fast, Hardly any wait. Con’s: Unskilled Staff, Below average quality, Lack of care and regard.

I'm a female with mid length hair and the hairdresser did an excellent job for an unbelievable price. I can tell it's a much better haircut than i've ever received from haircuttery and for much less also. It's no frills so don't expect to get special services like getting your hair colored. Also try to go during work hours if possible to avoid lines. A line built up really quickly after me when I went after work.

Most terrible hair cut experience. The store was closed when I arrived, but it was in open hrs. The barber came back after I call her. She didn't say 10 words to me from the beginning to the end, but play her phone many times and laugh during the haring cut. Really rude and waste my time. If you don't want to work, close your barber shop.

After regularly seeing my boyfriend, who gets his cut once a week, with great hair I had to try her, Tina did a fantastic job! I have a long hair-about the bottom of my shoulder blades-and she layered it beautifully. I am super picky about my hair and have had number of nightmare haircuts from moving states and not winning the salon lotto. I styled it up for dinner and my man was literally shocked "Wow, you're hair looks amazing!" Could not be happier.

My experience here was absolutely terrible. During the entire experience she literally said less than 15 words to me ( I am being completely serious). When I sat down to get the actual haircut, she didn't even ask me what kind of haircut I wanted. This barber (Tina, I think) literally is one the rudest barbers I have ever met in my entire life. When I got back into my car, I noticed that the haircut she gave me left me with a isosceles triangle shaped tuft of hair on my head. This barber gave me a bald spot, and balding is not even in my genes. Do not go to this barbershop, I understand that this probably is a one time deal, but one time is enough for me to never come back.

I don't write many reviews but sometimes I have to and this is one of those times. This Barbershop shop was great and I had to write a review about it. I ended up at this Barbershop on accident trying to get to a puertorican owned barbershop and ended up staying for a haircut and thank God I did. I wanted to have Tina assist me because she had many great reviews online so I gave her a try. She was very professional, listen to what I wanted and made me feel right at home. She was very patient and made sure to get it right. The barbershop itself was very clean and tidy. I loved the black and white pictures on the wall that gave me awesome ideas for my own haircut. I actually live in Oakton, VA but have driven 3 times out there to see Tina. It well worth the trip when she does such a great job. I don't believe they make appointments but every time I have gone it has not been a long wait. Give this place a try you wont regret it!!!!

She said she was done, as i looked at mirror i told her she did not shape up the sideburns. while standing she told me to stand still and was trimming my hair while standing up right. Not surprisingly completely messed up my shape up.

Awesome cuts, friendly staff, and affordable pricing! This is a hidden gem amongst the plethora of other barbershops in the city. When you walk in, you’re immediately hit with the “home-y” feeling (like their name suggest). I’ve read other reviews and decided to try it out and I’m 100% glad I did. The other places I tried didn’t pay enough attention, their focus was on the revenue. But at Family Barber, the staff look after you! Their priority is the customer satisfaction. I’ve been trying few hair cuts over the years, Tina and Nikki saw the potential and adjusted the clipper size they see best fit my huge head. Nikki took her time cutting my hair and trimming my beard. She paid attention and talked with me during the cut, which made me less anxious! Family Barber is a gem to me because they prioritize customer relations over money, hence why you get great cuts from there. During the one hour period, I saw patrons of all races and ages. Tina and Nikki personally greeted each person by their name, because they care about you to remember your name. Like other places, I thought the total price for the haircut and beard trim would be over budget, but amazingly, it costed me less than $20. Went in looking like a mid-life crises victim, came out feeling like a true college student; hip.
