I got a haircut on Friday on the way home from work at Benn's Barber Shop, situated at the corner of Agricola and Almon Street. I paid $15 for the haircut and $5 for the beard trim. He was quick, professional and competent. "I want my hair short enough to not have to comb it for the next three weeks - but NOT a brush cut." "Right," he said. And it was done. "How about the beard?" he asked. "Short too. I don't want peach fuzz, but I also want to be able to kiss my wife without her thinking about the possibility that her husband was mutating into a sasquatch. "Right," he said. And it was done. I'd recommend Benn's Barber Shop to anyone in Halifax looking for a good cheap haircut to check this place out.

I just went to Benn’s Barber Shop on Almon Street, after being referred by a male friend. I was refused a hair cut because I have female genitals. I told him I wanted a low fade, and a trim on the top. He refused because, “I don’t do girls hair” I explained, it is just a men’s cut, and he still said no. So if you have female parts, I wouldn’t suggest you go to him, because apparently our hair is different. ????

First time. Walked in first thing in the morning. Greeted by the owner. He asked what I wanted. I described the type of cut that he posted online. He told me the process he goes through and I agreed. I have been to a few barber's and was not happy with my previous cuts. Have to say this was the fastest and most precise cut I have had in Halifax. I am very fussy about the fade on the sides and I was very pleased with his work. So for anyone who passes his shop and if it looks busy, go in and wait as his wait time will not be that long. I will be going back.
