These ladies are amazing. I phoned the office and told them that my husband was in the hospital with heart and digestive problems and asked if they could come to the hospital before he went to Victoria. They not only came after work but their boss told them it was free. There are no words that can express my admiration, not only because of the wonderful hair cut, but the generosity and compassion. Thank you so much for such a wonderful group of barbers.

Sports Barbers is the best in town for a reason! The atmosphere is just soothing and relaxing when you walk through the door, the reception is always there to chat a little if you are in the mood. I’ve struggled to find a good barber my whole life, which is the main reason why I’ve always worn a hat. My friends recommended Sports Barbers team and I went to see PJ!! The best experience ever! This place is amazing! Excellent price, top notch customer service and I leave happy every single time. For those saying it’s pricey, they should go to great clips! You won’t find a better price for a high end haircut than at sports barbers. As well, if you are a female with a short androgynous and/or edgy hairstyle this is the place for you! The atmosphere is super relaxed and comfortable. Booking online is easy and super convenient too! I moved to Vancouver and still save all my cuts for when I come to the island so I can go here.

These guys are awesome, they take alot of care and pay attention to fine points and sublties of hair types and will cut accordingly. There is alot to know as a barber, and the management is very focussed on this and train staff accordingly as well. Keep up the great work ladies and gentlemen!!

PJ is great! Always friendly and enjoyable to talk to. Does a great job on my hair and always in a timely manner. It is very important to book appointments several days in advance as space fills up quickly. I have never called in, to find time available with in that day, I normally have to book 2-3 days in advance on average.

I've nothing but great service and haircuts at Nanaimo Sports Barbers. Reasonable prices. Clean, friendly and cool atmosphere with all the the sports memorabilia up everywhere. Highly recommend booking with PJ because that's who I see, but I imagine everyone who works here have mastered their craft.

This place blew me away. It's not your typical "barber" shop. It's a cut above! They have coke in glass bottles! And it's not for just for dudes. I'm a girl and I wanted to try a little hair tattoo but I ended up getting a full ombre colour and cut (and hair tattoo) for under $150! and the best part, I was out under 2 hours! I'll never go to a chichi poopoo salon that takes 4 hours to do hair ever again! Thanks Jimmy, i've never had such a nice hair cut and thanks Drea for the wicked design!

While the haircut I received from 1 of the barber's was decent, the front counter girl doesn't know her job what so ever and always misplaces both my son's and my appointments; cannot get in to see my normal Barber anymore, and it cost $65 for my 8 year old son and I to get a haircut! Nothing special, just a haircut. Not going going back!

I really like this place. The Sports theme is kind of tacked on but who cares! The place is open and bright with lots of friendly fresh faces. As far as I am concerned, this is one of two places in town for men to get a haircut and have an enjoyable experience. They do straight razer shaves with hot lather, beard shaping, trimming and even colouring for us silverbacks. Handicap parking is excellent and right in front of the store. Overall parking is ample with plenty available. Place runs on time with a dedicated floor manager handling the appointments. Very good online appointment making tool which allows you to select available times, products and stylists. They then export the appointment to your smart device and send you an email. You can also have your receipt emailed to you if you haven't embraced Mint yet.

I tried to book an appointment online online, but after a few minutes I gave up and called. I wanted the MVP. They told me there was no timeslot available for that; I would have to choose either a shave OR a haircut. I pointed out their website had just told me there were two time slots available for an MVP. They assured me if I had stayed with the online process it would have eventually told me the time slots it had offered were not actually available. Nice. I chose the shave, confirmed the time, and rearranged schedule to make sure I would be on time. When I arrived, they told me to take a seat. I waited. And waited. Finally, after 20 minutes, I told them to cancel my appointment and left. When you make an appointment, either keep it or explain up front how far behind you are and let me choose how to spend my time. Amateur hour from beginning to end.

First time there today. Greeted by friendly staff and made comfortable. Bruce is a pro with EXCELLENT conversation skills. Made the cut much more enjoyable. As for the quality of the cut, it's such a good feeling when people compliment you on your haircut as soon as you walk out of the shop! I'll be back for sure. My new "regular" place. Try the MVP treatment.
