Awesome place ! Have been going to them for years. Owner Jack is always happy and ready to help anyway he can right when walk in the door. Have called and made appointments many times but when I need to do a walk in someone is always ready to help as fast as they can. Very cool set up, locally owned, and 10/10 would recommend

Best barber shop I've been to on the west coast, quite frankly the only one I've been too and will not change. The atmosphere is fantastic everyone is involved with the general conversation of the room if you like out going friendly people this is the place. i have been going here for the past two years, I don't have a favourite person but I've been cut by the lot of them and everyone is great. ive always wanted a barber shop to come and relax, have a laugh, and maybe speak a little French(or at least hear fozzy make fun of his co workers In French, I swear he loves you guys) thanks shear agony you guys really know how to make a workplace a home to be invited to.

The haircuts are decent quality. Not like something you'd get at a salon but for an inexpensive ($17) barber shop it's not bad. The decor is a little inappropriate, especially if you have children. Just a heads up.

Been here a few times. It's only "meh". The name is true, it really is "shear agony". I haven't been satisfied with any of my haircuts here or anywhere else in Nanaimo for that matter. This place is cash only so be prepared to walk to the bank and pay a toll of you don't bank with TD. Will be looking elsewhere for my next cut.

I have come here a few time because there is a lack of qualified barbers who can actually perform a fade or blending of the hair for men in or around Nanaimo. Honestly, they are ok but I've had alot better for the price.

This place is so cutting edge (see what I did there????). Seriously though, more than your standard barbershop. Offering all the traditional services but with flare, style & wit! I have personally sat in 6 different chairs and been treated like a king and mega satisfied everytime! With that said I have found Kiwi Andrew to be a standout in an all-star stable. Great spot for a cut. The shop has many barbers, so I tried a few before settling on my favourite. You can either call in the morning to make a same-day appointment, or you can just show up and put your name on the list and get seen by a barber in order of arrival. Prices are very affordable. The shop also offers a military discount.

This Barber shop is truly one of a kind, all of the staff are friendly and well skilled. They all chat to eachother while cutting hair and make fun of eachother, making it an easy going and awesome vibe. I normally check out different barber shops in town to see which one I'm satisfied with and found Shear Agony to be the one to keep going to. With free wifi while waiting, to buying amazing hair products, it's a great place to get a cut or shave.

He's a nice guy but needed to focus his attention to the client at hand because I ended up having to go to another shop to get it fixed so that it was presentable. Apparently they do have good barbers but Russel is not one of them according to another friend who goes there regularly.

The best place for a mens haircut in Nanaimo! The staff is awesome, the vibe is great and the decor is fun. As for the skill of the staff, everyone walks out the door looking great. For less than the price of a cut at a fancy salon, you'll leave with a great look and wishing you could come back sooner for your next cut. The only thing they are missing is a beer fridge.

You pretty much cant get a bad haircut here. They all take the time to get it right and the way you want it. Knowledgeable about beards which is hard to find in this city. Prices are unbelievable. Dont forget to tip cause the value is insane. Open later than most places too like 7pm I think.

Completely unprofessional, regardless that I had an appointment barber ignored this fact by tending to a walk in customer. Quality of my hair cut was so poor that when I got home I had to recut my own hair and I have never cut hair before. I did a better job then the barber. Failed to sanitze work area between customers. Also, would pull down facial mask while talking to customer. (Why ware a mask). I was on time, I wore a mask, my clothes were clean and my hair was clean. I waited three months for a haircut. I deserved a great hair cut and I didn't get it, the barber didn't deserve the money but he got it.. I am going to hit the road and never go back.
